I did not mention in the converstation my Kochs customer knew our general manager well. In an instant some call it now a blink we have all the information we need to know, Not that it means anything, I got conformation that our GM is a living thing.
ReplyDeleteOf course as you all well know I have been touched often and in bad ways by the Invisible hand. Not to say sexy friday does not rub out some of the blues in a family way
Great SF Moeman - Fantastic ones all 'round. En mon opinion, PFK will be named the next captain of the Habs. He is the spokesman already. He's who people go to for updates. He has the presence and the chops to handle the role. He has his moments (where he loses his "cool" but with the "C" firmly emblazoned on his sweater, he'll rise to the occasion. I think there are $9m reasons why I am right on this...but what do I know... DTFPA!!
ReplyDeleteI'm torn on this one. PFK is great in the media and a very marketable 'commodity' not only for the Habs but for the league and I think he would represent them well but he is so scrutinized by hating SFU who always wait for any wrong move, no matter how minute, to pounce and trash him. I would love to see him as captain but maybe wearing the C would just make him a bigger target. I have absolutely no doubt he would wear the C with pride just as he does the CH. Then again, maybe that would force the refs to show him more respect?
DeleteLast season, Stubbs wrote Last year following the loss of Jean Béliveau, Élise Béliveau said she admits to having a soft spot for Carey Price, Max Pacioretty and P.K. Subban, and said that, if she had a vote, Pacioretty would be the club’s next captain.
“He’s a nice gentleman, he doesn’t get excited,” she said. “He reminds me a bit of John, the way he acts.”
Maybe that her opinion would come into their decision?
Here's an article I read a while ago that I felt really rang true.
http://lastwordonsports.com/2014/01/18/p-k-subban-under-fire-for-being-p-k-subban/
I'd be cool with PFK with the 'C'H but methinks PatCHes gets it.
DeleteGonna be patCHes. book it.
DeleteI also think it will be PatCHes, having a wife and children will be in his favour, viewed as maturity.
DeletePatches is Le Hab personified, in all due respect PFK is too much about himself
DeleteI was going to mention that as well, PFK is a little too flamboyent to be captain. Great player though.
DeleteLove all the awesome pics, esp. Mr. and Mrs. TFS snoozing.....oh to have his arm around me...ahem a girl can dream.
ReplyDeleteVery, very nice. This brightens up a very rainy day, although we badly needed rain. I needed a day away from the golf course as well, give my wonky right knee a break.
ReplyDeleteWe had a surprise visitor in Saint John last night, ex-PM Mr. Harper. All the protesters at the Irving refinery had Grandview Avenue blocked off, disrupting traffic and almost made me late for my fantasy football auction. That guy causes chaos wherever he shows up!
Max will be the new captain, although another American lad, he is young enough, popular enough and well spoken to represent les Canadiens. Turtleplexxx, Vodkov and PFK will get A's again.
gCHuk will get to play center, that means DDD or maybe PleXXXe gets traded. Before the regular season starts too I'd wager. MB won't hesitate to do something.
Did they sing the Harperland song?
DeleteI couldn't get close enough to the site, besides I was in a hurry to pick some football players! They showed a clip of him on the local news at the Irving refinery, same old stuff, all staged with loyal followers in the setting. Neil MacDonald at the CBC's web site wrote a very good piece on how the Conservatives control the message, the media and everything in between. They are good at it.
DeleteBon vendredi sexxxy mes ami(e)s! super travail moe! man that MB is JACKED
ReplyDeletemy friend was on an Air Canada flight last night Mtl-TO, and he said PFK was sitting right in front of him (my friend is an AC executive so he flies first or business class). He said PFK was easy to spot because of the hat
i wrote something more beautiful and relevant and google ate it

they can always play for Vegas
DeleteFearless Prediction Hudun and Tin Tin make the team. 5 and 6 D are Plaid Tin Tin, and (Y) Top 4 Vodkov, NB, DiCHe, PFK.
ReplyDeleteIf Tin Tin doesn't make the team and gets called later if injuries etc, he will have to clear waivers to go back down and another team will scoop him up esp. with his low cap hit. So DGMB's choices are either he makes the team, stays in the AHL or he trades him.
DeleteThe NHL will introduce spotters for every game this season. The spotters will be for purposes of determining visible signs of concussion.
ReplyDeleteThe spotter will be responsible for sending players noticeably shaken up after a hit to the locker room, deputy commissioner Bill Daly confirmed to Lavoie in an email.
DeleteThis measure, first introduced by the NFL, is aimed at holding teams accountable for taking potential concussions seriously, ensuring that players are examined promptly after being hit in the head.
Previously, teams received undisclosed fines if they failed to send a player with visible signs of concussion to the locker room for examination.
The spotter will be responsible for sending players noticeably shaken up after a hit to the locker room, deputy commissioner Bill Daly confirmed to Lavoie in an email. http://www.journaldemontreal.com/2015/09/14/menace-a-execution
http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/eye-on-hockey/25301556/report-nhl-will-have-concussion-spotters-for-every-game-this-season
Maybe they should also look at DOP who review possible suspensions and later deem them to be a 'legal hit to the head'.
DeleteGood luck to Crankshaft on PTO with the Flames.
ReplyDeleteBelated Rosh Hashanah greetings.
ReplyDeleteYes, Happy Rosh Hashanah to all of the faith.
DeleteSo a week ago, the scum at snet speculated Stamos being a leaf. So what does tsn and insidredger have on their first show of their shit season? speculating Stamos being a leaf. SFU!
ReplyDeleteMindless drivel by leaf fanboy hacks, serving mindless, lemming leaf fanboys. They'll be jerking off to Stamkos until Stevie Y. signs him to an 8 year contract then they can go back to jerking off to Nylander and Marner.
DeleteI see Huberdeau remains unsigned in FLA. Habs should do whatever it takes to get the LW in a CH. Even if just for the M's sake.
ReplyDeleteAnd regarding these league 'concussion spotters', I'm worried about the number of 'concussions' the Habs will be 'spotted' receiving, especially when playing certain shit-stained teams.
As much as I would like to see Huberdeau in a Habs uniform, I don't see it happening. Florida is already loaded with youth and don't need anymore picks or prospects. Besides, I'm not going to pine over JH like I used to for Vinnie. No more of that SFU-like mindless fantasy for this Habs fan.
DeleteMaybe MB can work out a deal to be able to pick Joe Veleno in 3 years.
According to some leaf fanboy hack, JH is "mulling over" a bridge contract from the Panthers or, waiting for an offer sheet. Do it MB! You'll probably have to hand over a 1st and 2nd pick, but you already have plenty of prospects in the system and JH is only 22 years old..... and a life long Habs fan! And a native son!
ReplyDeleteTo HabsFan29 ---- I shot my second round of even 80 this summer today, but for an errant bunker shot that put me too far away for a chance at par and two missed short putts on par 3's, I'm in the 70's today. One of these days.....

ReplyDeletePFK will be making a very substantial donation to the Montreal Children's Hospital. News conference at 10AM, Elise Béliveau will also be there. Reports are that it is so significant that the atrium will be named after him.
ReplyDeletePFK paying it forward.
PK is stuck in traffic making him late to the news conference at the hospital - welcome to Montreal.
ReplyDelete"the biggest philanthropic commitment by a sports figure in Canadian history."
ReplyDeletehttp://montreal.ctvnews.ca/pk-subban-donating-10-million-to-montreal-children-s-hospital-foundation-1.2565081
CTV reporting 10 million, incredible. I wonder how the Toronto media will manage to spin this negatively...
The usual, 'trying to by captaincy, tax write-off' etc...
DeleteAnyone with children know that their kids will benefit and that is what's important.
Good on PFK...just trying to remember who I said was a lock for the Captain's role with the Habs...Hmmm...

DeleteJust had a bruins fan friend of mine say: "How do you expect me to hate P.K. Subban when he does something like this?"
ReplyDeleteMy reply: "Just watch tsn or snet and those guys will help you find a way AND promote the leaf at the same time."
He chuckled and said: "You're right!"

Regardless of how well the Habs play, how they currently stand as the best on ice (off ice too) Canadian team, the SFU goes out of their way to allow the most disgusting to be said about the team, it's players and her fans. No matter what one does to ask them to curtail the sick leaf fan hate, it doesn't and won't go away. Sickening doesn't begin to describe what a fucked up gang of mediots mongrels are out there. snet is the fucking worst, with sn and G&M and NP very close behind. Their fucking team is putrid but they will take this pathetic rebuilt and use it to slag the other 6 Canadian teams. Boggles the fucking mind.
DeleteWow, tsn pulls 400+ comments offline due to sick leaf fans slagging the shit out of PFK. You think you are complicit SFUs?
DeleteThey also choose to make Kane being a camp their lead story and move PFK's historical commitment near the bottom.
DeleteNot sure if anyone has seen the news conference but I must say, PFK's French was impeccable.
DeleteCapitaine.
DeletePFK you are a real fucking beauty man! I am beyond proud, almost beyond words at your kind gesture. Pure Habs class. Merci PFK, merci beaucoup!

ReplyDeleteSo the tsn web managers had an attack of conscience, deleting all that Habs hate mail? I scrolled down for a bit but saw the trend and bailed.
ReplyDeletePlayers like Beliveau, Saku and now PK make me proud to be a Habs fan. One thing, some players should take a look in the mirror and say "can I be that kind of person?" How's Mike Richards doing these days anyway?
Yup. The CH organization has groomed many stellar players. Too many to mention. I'll add Henri Richard for obvious reasons.
DeleteFuck it. All comments are back including the sick ones from known leaf trolls. Sick fucks.
DeleteOn 'that's leafs' tonight. 'after the break, we'll be back with some of PK Subban's highlites of his career'
DeleteWhat did they do? well, when they came back, they decided to go with a 'just released' statement from Slava Voynov that he was fucking off to Russia and nothing about PFK as 'promised'
Fucking SFU pricks.
Holy Fuck Batmann, just saw the PFK story, no doubt biggest single total class move in hockey history
ReplyDelete"That brings us to today: this glorious day; this day of the greatest single monetary donation by an athlete in Canadian history. Subban donated $10 million. Let that sink in. Ten million dollars. Find whatever stupid reason you can to disparage that, they all fall away as nonsensical. The one you hear the most is it’s a tax write off, but if it is as simple as this, then why aren’t all players doing this if it’s so darn beneficial to donate $10 million? The reason no one does it is it is not beneficial. It’s an enormous amount of money completely out of pocket for the good of society. If you are finding a way to not like PK Subban at this point, you need to look at your own character; what is flawed in you that you can’t like this man."
ReplyDeletehttp://montreal.ctvnews.ca/call-of-the-wilde-pk-subban-is-a-man-in-full-1.2566534
So proud of PK today and so proud to be a Habs fan. Even if it just shuts up a few moronic broon and leaf fans, it is icing on the cake. Isn't it nice we don't have to put up with the issues of Mike Richards, Slava Voynovs, Patrick Kanes instead.
ReplyDeleteYou know 3 weeks tonight we are on the eve of game 1 of the season! Holy frig.
Hey the M, I'm still looking to get under 100 for the 2nd time in my golfing career. Tough when i only play half a dozen rounds per year at most. I think I might just be 2-3 years out from a more regular game. And 10 years to retirement...not that i'm wishing my time away. Hitting PEI next weekend for a 'golf' weekend with 4 groups of guys. It's one of those trips where golf is actually secondary to the libations. But a great time nonetheless, and not on any of the top tier courses.

ReplyDeleteBest lawyer joke ever. From some Stephen Fry game show on BBC.
Q: What do lawyers and sperm have in common?
A: One in 50-million has a chance of becoming a human being.
Yes! Love it. A new, genuinely original, lawyer joke.
Man, can tsn flood their main page with more leaf shit? 29 other teams you sick fucks.
ReplyDeletePFK should be the top sports story on every channel even if Bruce says they are mostly shit

Deletebab's cock: we will restore the leaf. Sure you will. Enjoy the league basement sucker.
leaf trade 5 nobodys for Grabner. Plan the parade leafools.
... and it isn't even pre-fucking-season. The SFU will cram so much leaf rebuild it'll be sickening. They reek of blue and white desperation.
DeleteThe SFU will tire of the rebuild excitement when the losing begins in earnest. Oh wait, then they will be promoting Austin Matthews as an even better prospect than Connor McDavid, and begin masturbating to getting the first overall pick.... then lose out to Arizona!! Too fucking funny!!
ReplyDeleteGood stuff the M.!
DeleteBREAKING
ReplyDeleteIt's official, the PLAYERS have voted PatCHes to be their captain.
Andrei Markov, Tomas Plekanec, P.K. Subban and Brendan Gallagher will serve as assistant captains
ReplyDeleteCarnaval is suffering symptoms of concussion.
ReplyDeleteGood for Max, congrats!
ReplyDeleteI am really happy it was a players vote - I thought a captain was going to be appointed - hence my leaning to PFK. But the players doing the voting has always been a better solution and I am delighted that they went with Patches! He deserves it and I love that they voted Gallagher an "A"...Now the refs will have to listen to him!
ReplyDeleteI also though they would assign the captain. Players vote is the way to go and this also tells me that management felt the player-CHosen captain also had their support to act as the voice between management and the team.
Deletealso *thought*
DeleteCongrats patCHes wooo!!!!!
ReplyDelete@the M - nice on the 80! Must have been frustrating as hell though to not see that 79. I know because I think I have shot 90 5 times, but never broken it. sigh.
ReplyDeletePatCHes presser on now. Speaking French! Not quite as well as PFK did, but still pretty good!
ReplyDeletePlayers could vote for anyone they wanted except TFS
ReplyDeleteDGMB and MT2 went to PatCHes house to tell him in person, but they went to the wrong house!
ReplyDeleteVodkov / KidG and PFK / Plexxxe will be the Assistant Captain "teams" and rotate home away like last year. Paired Vodkov and KidG because youngest and oldest
ReplyDeletePatCHes was also voted captain by his teammates... in high school
ReplyDeleteDGMB wont reveal the vote totals. understandable
ReplyDeleteAnd we're done and taking pics. PatCHes' smile is ear to ear
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Patches, your CAPITIEN MY cAPITEAN.. I like the fact the players voted, obviously Mr Molson is not a Harper fan.
