Story on TSN (no link, because really, who cares?): Babcock hopes the leaf can emulate the Kings one day.
You mean the LA Kings? The ones who didn't make the playoffs last year?
You left the Wings, the team with the most success over the 25 years and who are still a threat.
I'd make a joke, but it basically writes itself at this point. Glad Bab$ didn't end up in Montreal. In fact, now I see why he didn't. Enjoy Toronto, 'One Cup' Mike.
Tune in with 8 min to go...they hit the post twice and didn't look too bad on those power plays...Big Mac looks nice when he pals himself in front o the net. Sheik made a beau stop to end the period. Go Habs go!
Ol' Crotch can fuck off. Mentions Dickie Moore's passing, but says "he played like Gallagher, but could score." Checking the stats I see kidA has 67 goals in 229 games. Compare that to the great leaf goal scorer Kadri who has 69 goals in 280 games. But yeah, Gallagher's not a goal scorer. OK then. WTF do you think the scoring has dried up in Habland FFS. Jeezus Crust.
Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!!!!!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!!!!!!
The Stars are making the Habs look like a peewee team. And not even a good peewee team. Even though missing key players, losses to the Sharks, Kings and most likely the Stars should indicate to MB that this team needs help up front. Gambled on Jizz and it didn't work out. Somebody with actual skill in today's game is needed to help put pucks in the net. And yes, it's going to mean giving something up to get something, but I think the time is now to make that move.
BrianWilde Retweeted SeansteR Campbell @seanrcampbell 4m4 minutes ago What I don't understand from that McCarron penalty is that even if he hit him late, it wasn't even really a hit of any physical force #bump

I think it's time we realized that the 9-0 start was the aberration. This isn't a very good team.
And just throwing this out there, but maybe PK should spend more time practicing shooting the puck off the glass instead of going out to dinner with Tony Romo. And hey, maybe the captain should show up once in a while. Just to say hi or something.
meh, I'm just one of those who can't turn it off till the last buzzer sounds. Seen some good ones though, like the leaf collapse game 7 and the look on leafools faces, Hawks coming back and eliminating the broons, the time the Habs made history a couple years ago coming back against the Sens (not a playoff game, but still) and Lerner having a hissy. You just never know.
Second that. I still believe. We just gotta be patient. TFS will be back. Why did Jeusu quit playing hockey, he always got nailed to the boards, but we do not quit that easy. Speaking of easy, THE EXPANSE, BSG, Alien, Bladerunner, and Sci Fi fans everywhere this one rocks.
Tough night all around last night, not to mention McBig's intro. At least MT realized his second penalty was a farce so he might get a 2nd chance. As O-man says, this isn't a good team. gCHuk shows signs of brilliance but still doesn't have the finish and/or linemates to get that level he needs to be at to help this team. Patches and PleX invisible. Lego had some jump but as has been the story for years, doesn't have the finish. When Carr and Byron are your goal scorers, there are issues. MB must see he needs to bolster the offence...right? He doesn't think that 9-0 start where they were scoring 30 goals a night was normal...right? (Y) is terrible. Plaid should be playing in his spot. And if Dish is hurt, Tinordi should get a look. Be interesting to see if they can come out of this road trip with a .500 record - i'll not be putting money on it.
It's become obvious to me that we've been transported to an alternate universe. Or else the Earth has wobbled on it's axis throwing things out of kilter.
"LA Kings went 1-9 over 10 games and scored a total of 13 goals in that stretch less than 4 months before hoisting the Stanley Cup, the Hawks lost 10 straight one year they won the cup"
I suppose on the bright side if the boys keep sucking for another month, even after Price and Gallagher are back...there's the hope that maybe, just maybe, the end of MT might at least be closer.
But really, I think the setting is ripe for a blockbuster with the Pens. I'd prefer Malkin over Crosby - he's one head shot from the end of his career. Now Malkin's probably costing you gCHuk, N8, +, +...so is he worth it? Who knows? MB needs to know.
I'm not even sure why they fired Carbo in the first place. I think the team will turn it around, if not during this trip, then after the holidays. Concern now though is Dish likely to miss the next 2 games. Not that Tinordi would be a replacement, I think MT has already ruined him.
Well Maritimer, hell of a comeback by the Gmen! Just a touch short...and only enough to screw up my Carolina pick in the spread pool I'm in (was 5.5 this week). But I remain in 2nd place, but would have only been 1 back instead of 3 as the guy ahead of me had the Giants.
That was a hell of a comeback ... I wish the Habs could show some backbone like that.
I was eliminated from my football fantasy pool last weekend despite putting up over 100 points. I am currently tied for 1st in the weekly pick'em pool at a local pub. I couldn't bring myself to pick the Giants because of that as I had to go with the favourite in order to keep pace. Still, I was secretly hoping for a Giants win as it wouldn't have mattered.
Yeah I was beat last week too. My opponent had Brady, Gronk and Beckham...but I hung in there until the 2nd half Monday night before OBJ blew it open. Still as it was I left the points on the bench for the victory...sat Ted Ginn Jr. We have a 'consolation' round and I'm matched up against my arch-nemesis (a buddy at work) and I'm crushing him this week. Side bet - he'll owe me lunch so all is not lost.
Montreal Canadiens draft pick Noah Juulsen was among four cuts made by Hockey Canada on Sunday as it finalized its world junior hockey championship roster.
Saw Patches swearing and getting angry after the game. If only he showed that kind of intensity during the actual game.
After tonight, broons one point back with 2 games in hand, Detroit 2 points back with a game in hand, Florida and Ottawa 3 and 4 points back, respectively. It is not an exaggeration to think the Habs could be fighting for a wildcard spot by Christmas. And Christmas is just a couple of days away. They could be out of the playoff picture entirely by the time they get back to the Bell Centre in January.
Not trying to be chicken little here, but those are the numbers. They've had their slump, but if it goes much longer it'll be a total collapse, of leaf like proportions.
I used to Dream of Genie a lot.
ReplyDeleteGo Habs Go!
... and Bewitched!
DeleteI couldn't stop laughing at the Peanuts power play, hilarious.
ReplyDeleteGhetto out, McM in.
ReplyDeleteExcited to see McCarron play. McBig? McGiant? Magic (as in Magic Mike...for the FHFemmes)?

ReplyDeleteSounds like quite the clusterfuck tonight. Habs are sinking faster in the standings than the Bismarck.
ReplyDeleteI'm all caught up with Gotham. The future Commissioner Gordon sure has done some questionable things in his career so far.
ReplyDeleteIs it over yet?
ReplyDeleteMad Vodkov puts his hand around Rousell's throat.
