I gotta say that sadly I predicted a lost weekend once DDD returned to the ice. His presence came as the Habs were starting, albeit very slowly, to find some rhythm. McM was getting decent PP time and overall about 15 minutes of icetime a game. GCHuK was getting 18-20 minutes and there was some sighns of "chemistry" being built on ice. DDD returns and all the lines looked lost. The PP was shit and DDD featured in about half of it - but that's still enough to fuck the team chemistry up. He gets credit for making a good pass on a goal against teh Rangers - but it was too little - way too late. Just when I thought the Habs might get two 30 goal scorers out of the season - small consolation I know - DDD returns and now I am concerned both of them stall at around 28 goals each. This 6 game procession downwards won't be any fun - but Moeman - you are amazing for your dedication to the cause. Thank you! Let's hope that PFK makes it back - and he is the only one I really want to see again at this point - just to liven the games up a bit. Actually 0K - maybe Auto as well - but only at the expense of icetime to DDD!! As always...Just fucking win!

I was going to comment on that equation. Can't argue with that math.
I felt relief when Molson jettisoned the Goat, I didn't feel that way about Randy Cunneyworth, because he got hung out to dry. I can't even express how much contempt I feel towards the arrogant Therrien. It's so bad I still can't watch the team play just because of his presence and his love affair with DD to the detriment of all others. I really can't wait for the season to be over.
The weirdest and most pathetic thing about MT2 is his unprofessionalism both behind the bench and in his post-game comments. How DGMB thinks this is acceptable is confounding. His reactions are either non-existent or petty. Any manager worth his salt would be heaving him at the end of game 82. Only 5 to go...
I could be wrong here (I'm told it's happened once before...apparently...)but I believe that as this slide to the bottom plays out, so too will the patience of one Geoff Molson. I see both DGMB and MT being sent packing. There is a precedent set with the Goat and Cunneyworth. How are this lot any different or better? Apart from the fist month of the season the team has been the worst team in the NHL. No "big deal" free agent moves to try save the season were done - nothing! Who came in this year to help? AHL'ers not included: Matteau, Brown, Lessio, Scott, Danault, Bartley, Scrivens - not exactly impact players...and who went out? Semin,Kassian, Tinordi, DSP, Weise, Tokarski, Fleischman, Thomas - not exactly impact players either - so really - DGMB has traded fuck all for fuck all. I could do that! Can I please manage the Montreal Canadiens. I promise not to play DDD on the Powerplay ever!. I'll play Chucky at centre and I'll have McM rent a room in front of the opposition net. Wherever possible I'll ask the players to cary the puck and pass it to one of their teammates when they sense trouble ahead. Dump and chase will be banned and I will award a $500k prize at the end of the year for the player with the most puck possession time (when compared directly to turnovers)...
Good news is more ice time for Davey means the Habs actually have a shot at moving 'up' 2 spots to 6th place, ahead of Barfalo and Arizona.
Huge fan of Ry Cooder moe. The soundtrack for the Crossroads movie starring Ralph Macchio is one of my favourite CD's. Also Get Rhythm and Chicken Skin Music.
Leaf are tampering with Jimmy Vesey in a less blatant way than their leaf-owned radio station handing out 'sign Stamkos' signs which proudly featured the station's logo and radio handle.
"And the conspiracy theories have already begun. The Toronto Maple Leafs were rumoured to be jockeying for position in the Vesey Sweepstakes last summer when they hired his father, Jim, as an amateur scout. They also drafted Vesey’s younger brother, Nolan, in the sixth round in 2014."
Nothing conspiratory about it, 690 just said his father apparently doesn't have any scouting experience and this article cites Hunter's 'recruiting players through beguiling methods'
Read more at: https://mapleleafshotstove.com/2015/11/26/toronto-maple-leafs-jimmy-vesey/
I was reading about Vesey earlier today - why the fuck would anyone who wants out of Nashville want to come play in tranna? If it's money driven then I do understand. If it has anything whatsoever to do with actual hockey, then anywhere else will happen before he's a leaf...
August 15th. Jimmy Vesey signs professional contract with hometown Boston Bruins. August 16th. Jimmy Vesey's dad 'let go' by Toronto Maple Leafs, citing his year long tenure as scout for the team hasn't yielded the results they were hoping for.
? A November 25 article by Blob M tries to say that in Vesey approached the leaf for a scouting but he never mentions his post was terminated, one would think he would have made that a point.
Nilan and Vesey Sr. are close friends, he has him on the show from time to time and I do remember a conversation where Sr. says Preds wanted to sign him but he decided to continue school first and that he was glad about his son's decision. I also remember him on when 'Jr' was in the running for the Hobie Baker, I don't remember hearing any mention that Sr was a scout for the leaf, I only learned that recently.
I was just thinking about the draft and came up with an idea (not sure if it's original, but it is in my mind). The bottom 14 should have a mini round-robin single round knockout tournament to decide draft rankings.
Round 1 is a standard 1 vs 14, 2 vs 13...all the way to 7 vs 8. (#1 being the last place team). 7 games. The losers of these games draft in the 7 lowest spots (8 - 14). So if #1 loses against #14 (right now that would be the make beliefs losing to the dead things), tronna would end up with the #14 pick. Or maybe the rule is you can drop no more than 7 spots and adjust the outcomes accordingly.
Round 2 - 7 teams remaining. The team from round 1 that had the 'highest' seed (if the leafs won round one for example) gets a bye. The remaining 6 teams are seeded accordingly and play off. The three losers get picks 5 - 7.
Round 3 - the previous 'bye' team plays the lowest seed and the other two teams face off. The losers get picks 3-4 and the winners play for the top pick.
This creates more excitement for the fans, a reason to not tank, extra revenue for those teams that get to host games, and a chance for all teams to draft in the top 4, while the crappy teams still have a chance to do the same.
I'll give Gary and the BofG a call later today. Probably be implemented for next year's playoffs.
I don't know what's up with PK not playing. With KidA mysteriously injured. With TFS looking ready to come back one week then disappearing from sight the next. Like everybody who might not be 100% on the eMTy "good boy, eats his cookies and goes straight to bed" books is shut down. Like anybody with a hockey IQ who might be prone speak up and say the Emperor has no clothes has been shut down but doesn't want any questions from the media and the fans about why. Jussayin
Last night, Carbonneau said that with nothing to look forward to now, the fans who pay to go to the games, and that includes 'me, unlike popular belief, I have to pay for my tickets, they are not given to me' and want to see PFK at least deserve some honesty, transparency. First it was preventive, then he wanted to play next game but they said he would miss 2 games, not it's 8 games etc...
"The poll is considered statistically accurate to within 50 percentage points, which means if you asked again after a win or a loss or a blizzard or a slow night at the Roxy, answers might be totally different."
"Favourite/least favourite Canadian-based team: We combined these two because the results are hilarious. The Toronto Maple Leafs are No. 1 in both categories, meaning they’re the top love/hate club among Canadians. The Winnipeg Jets rank last in both, meaning most respondents have no feelings about them, either way. The Jets are just sort of … there. But the answers, understandably at present, indicate a lot of ‘meh’ toward Canadian teams in general."
The leaf are not typically considered the favourite team by fans, likely shows which fans answered the poll and who voted, aka the Bab$/leaf-owned-media koolaid.
Furthermore, PK's stats would refute the 'overrated' label and during this historical collapse he's been the best player for his team this season and the pre-DGMB, when the Habs finished at the bottom just 2 pts behind the leaf, he and Price carried the team on their backs.
It's a Postmedia (head quartered in Tranna) poll. I've never seen the actual poll or the opportunity/invitation to it, only the 'results' which I looked for after hearing something on the radio.
Nilan not speaking too highly about the Preds side of how things went with Vesey. He said Vesey never promised to sign with them, they were told he has not made any decision. He's calling out Jimmy Murphy for saying Vesey lied to the Preds.
As for working for the Leaf, Nilan said he made a call and reached out to Mark Hunter to see if he could get his BF Vesey Sr some kind of work. Could his father working there be the inside track, of course, the leaf could be in the mix he said, but so could many other teams.
As for the Preds claims of 'loyalty' this is a business and they weren't exactly loyal to Seth Jones.
If he had to choose, he would take Vesey's word over Preds or Jimmy Murphy who likely goes on rumour. Nilan said he asked Vesey straight out if the Preds would be his first choice to sign and he said no.
Whilst here, concussion update: some days are very good, some so/so. I'd say on avg. 75% good to go. Putting in 5 hour days at work, can't handle much more than that. The major symptom is tiredness. Looking forward to crashing in the lounge chair on the deck, in the sun.
More than just a little odd that snet has ZERO coverage of the concussion email story. Find some fucking integrity and take the ML$Elevator down a few floors and ask Shamwow a few questions SFUckers.
"integrity' is not part of their vocabulary. They will try to quash any connection esp now that it has been revealed that he emailed a newspaper article on the subject while he was with the leaf. (No sure where I heard, or read that).

#Habs host the #RedWings tonight. MTL losing by large margins lately, going 2-6-0 while getting outscored 31-15 in 8 games without PK Subban and Carey Price
FWIW, there are (still) lots of Habs on this team to love and CHerish. This blog puts both PFK and TFS at the forefront. The passion for the CH is also reflected in the generations and teams that were lead, literally by the Rocket, Le Gros Bill and The Flower. How many fucking players/men can be recognized, almost solely, by a nickname (something we have FHFun doing here to this day). Maurice's passion and power, Jean's class and skill and Guy's play and performance defined what we love about our team. Their coaches let them fucking play. Yes, in a team structure but their God-given talent was permitted to be put on display, for fans and maybe as importantly, their teammates. I am not putting aside the KidAs, PatCHes', gCHuks and the next fab Hab. Nor am I denying the influence of the Bowmans and Pollocks and Irwins and Molsons, et al. The Montreal Canadiens are recognized as one of professional sports most endeared, successful and important franCHises. May this season end, may it be burned to the ground and maybe from the ashes we will see a beautiful rebirth. Yes it is only sports but this/our team means too much to just be one of 30. It is easy to say fuck off fuckface bettman, 1967! and eat shit you scam artist jacobs but the bootstraps need lifting. GYFHG!
well said, and throw out the choucula notebook with a million versions of dump and chase. Carry the puck in until you figure out how to do it half the time successfully.
RDS' gag-non says large/heavy consequences in the concussion communications. Weird that he has been quiet on this for years. Still rds/tsn should kick the living shit out of this issue. Maybe even get lou, shannie and sideshow to do a little dance.
A not-surprising upside is how fucking brainfuckingdead shannie was on this issue, whilst dishing out his pathetic shanabans. What a fucking dipshit.
Three articles about Jimmy Vesey on snet's main page (all lead to him being a leaf, go figure). Squat about the concussion communications. Squat. Methinks fuckface batman's get into bed with the leaf is going to make him feel real crabby. Should've worn some protection fuckface.
Should there be an official federal gov't commission to look into the concussion communications conundrum I suggest none other than the incredibly authentic hockey history 'writer' lil' stevie harper. Its not like he is busy. Plus, he's a leafool.
Blogger won't let me reply moeman, so I'll do so here. I think it was on CTV sports yesterday that there was mention that a parts of the videos which showed Giroux's hit was removed after it was decided that he would play last night, not sure if they cited snet or the flyers feeds specifically but they no longer seemed to be available in it's entirety as it was originally.
Though I am 'cooking' up some potpourri in a mini-crock, sliced lemon, vanilla and rosemary. Smells great, maybe even make a good drink with some added alcohol.
One thing that is confusing, maybe even troubling, about this whole concussion communications conundrum (ccc™) is why no one has bothered to ask, professionally of course, shannie, for his comments and clarifications. Maybe when the NHL let him go (via Loowinski) to the leaf, it was legally stipulated that he keep his fat fucking mouth shut? Considering that the leaf had a piece of shit headcase like burke running (ruining?) their show, it strikes oddly that a lightweight like shannie is so sheltered. Winter is over shannie. The snow and ice has melted. What the fuck are you afraid of? Fuckface? Craig Janney?

Just popping in to say hello to moe and juce... Moe is on a roll against the evil snet, keep it up brother and I give a big thumbs up to your earlier rant regarding our beloved Habs. Sometimes it seems the present day owner is trying to live off the past while ignoring the present. eMpTy is a fucking disaster and I have Bargain Bergy on a short leash. I better see some fucking action this summer and I don't mean any more Dumpster Diving.
As for a nickname for young Joel Hanley, how about "Billy".
Upthread moeman posted a link to a Globe article, one of the emails in my posted link here seems to be a presentation (maybe slides or powerpoint) in a GM's meeting, on one of the pages Sinden is noted as saying fighting should no longer be a tactic by a team to win a hockey game. (name is hand-written in by possibly the Globe reporter) This section has about 60 pages on stats of number of fights, size of fighting players from one era to another, penalties, rule changes etc...
MONTRÉAL – Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced today that the team has agreed to terms on a two-year, two-way contract (2015-16 and 2016-17) with free agent goaltender Charlie Lindgren.
I have been curious about the potential pat leave for TFS myself. If his wife is anything like mine, the pressure to "stay injured" (wink wink nudge nudge say no more say no more) through the third trimester could be a factor no one will ever EVER talk about.

GYFHG!
ReplyDelete... et oui, comme Canadien-Francais, je suis conscient que Maurice, Jean et Guy sont des noms très Canadien-Francais.
DeleteTo be yelled from the rooftops. Amen moeman
Deletewell said, and throw out the choucula notebook with a million versions of dump and chase. Carry the puck in until you figure out how to do it half the time successfully.
ReplyDeleteIn regards to Big McM's minutes (or lack thereof), benoit brunet says MT2 should be given some rope. Discuss.
ReplyDeleteYeah, rope to hang himself, hopefully he's had enough of it already.
DeleteRDS' gag-non says large/heavy consequences in the concussion communications. Weird that he has been quiet on this for years. Still rds/tsn should kick the living shit out of this issue. Maybe even get lou, shannie and sideshow to do a little dance.
ReplyDeleteA not-surprising upside is how fucking brainfuckingdead shannie was on this issue, whilst dishing out his pathetic shanabans. What a fucking dipshit.
Like that the email exchange between Bettman and Shanahan was mentioned.
DeleteYup. gag-non says it ain't over. OK, so start digging frankie.
DeleteThree articles about Jimmy Vesey on snet's main page (all lead to him being a leaf, go figure). Squat about the concussion communications. Squat. Methinks fuckface batman's get into bed with the leaf is going to make him feel real crabby. Should've worn some protection fuckface.
ReplyDeleteShould there be an official federal gov't commission to look into the concussion communications conundrum I suggest none other than the incredibly authentic hockey history 'writer' lil' stevie harper. Its not like he is busy. Plus, he's a leafool.
ReplyDeleteOutside of a MT2 blenDDDer malfunction, Big McM will see 4th line duty tonight. Does guy boucher approve?
ReplyDeleteStill here.
ReplyDeleteWow. Not a single mention of the concussion communications. Nada.
http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/
Crawford may have vertigo. Get well if you do.
'The team hasn't changed Crawford's day-to-day status and won't confirm the nature of the ailment beyond classifying it as an upper-body injury.
DeleteThe netminder hasn't played or skated since allowing five goals in a loss to the Los Angeles Kings on March 14.'
Somehow, that sounds familiar.
ReplyDeleteNot surprised.
Deletejuce, try using Chrome and if you already do, clear the browsing cache.
Hoisin pulled pork and a splash of CHard.
ReplyDeleteJust a couple of mortadella sandwiCHes here.
DeleteA couple! Are you hiding 29!
DeleteThough I am 'cooking' up some potpourri in a mini-crock, sliced lemon, vanilla and rosemary. Smells great, maybe even make a good drink with some added alcohol.
DeleteOooh!
DeleteI grew the rosemary last summer sur mon balcon. Ex used to call me the black thumb, so I was quite proud of myself.
DeleteGo Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!

Boys have some pep.
ReplyDeleteWooooo!!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah! Popped in!
ReplyDeletePatCHes deflect!
ReplyDeleteNice shot by Hanley deflected by PatCHes.
ReplyDeleteBe nice to see both PatCHes and gCHuk bag 30 eaCH. All credit goes to MT2.
DeleteJust 4 and 3 respectively, it's doable.
DeleteGo Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!
ReplyDeleteLB!!!
ReplyDeleteLb! So well coached, give MT2 the puck!
ReplyDeleteIn comes Howard.
ReplyDeleteBlashill has one, 1, less Stanley Cup, than Sideshow.
ReplyDeleteCaCHe it.
ReplyDeleteMeh penalty. A dozen were 'missed' in Detroit.
ReplyDeleteKidA told to pack his swim trunks for FLA road trip.
ReplyDeleteSafe!
ReplyDeleteNo shortie for you!
ReplyDeleteCaCHe it.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should stop saying that, doesn't seem to work.
No, blame jjd and MT2.
DeleteWings called for hooking.
ReplyDeleteGo Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!
Another light call.
ReplyDeleteGood period.
ReplyDeletefree preview of tva sports if anyone is interested in catching part of the 2nd of the boons/devils game, just turn the sound off.
ReplyDeletejuce, did you not read my post concussion symptoms? Do I need to email shannie?
DeleteStrange, McQuaid and a Devil were about to fight and the refs immediately stepped in before it could even start.....hmm
Deletecollie is too busy erasing emails.
Deletebrunet says this isn't a Mike Sideshow team. Why say this?
ReplyDeleteSister station, perhaps?
DeletePossibly.
DeleteJoel Hanley (still no nickname), 5th point.
ReplyDeleteGo Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!
ReplyDeleteOuf, PhD so close.
ReplyDeleteQuick check (yes I feel dirty), still zero mention of the concussion communications (which implicate shannie) conundrum at snet. Weird? or Weird!
ReplyDeleteWhy the fuck are clean hits fought over? (Y) laid in a good, solid, clean, hit that was clean.
ReplyDeleteOuf, Larkin didn't look good after (y)'s hit, looked wobbly.
ReplyDeleteHe fell awkwardly. Shoulder to shoulder.
DeleteSeemed like Larkin had the puck. Abelkader, 2,5 and 10, (y) gets 2, one for interference and one for fighting, really?
ReplyDeleteWeird.
DeleteWings now on a 3 min PP.
ReplyDeleteWeird.
DeleteGo Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!
ReplyDeleteLarkin's on the ice.
ReplyDeleteScreened Sheik, goal.
ReplyDeleteKill the rest of it, boys.
ReplyDeleteHow can any player be proud of those two shit goals?
ReplyDeleteLooks like fuckface made a call.
ReplyDeleteIf Mrazek wants to punch, punch him right back, he had nothing to do with Brown and Kromwall.
ReplyDeleteMight be Howard.
DeleteWow. 4 mins for that?
ReplyDeleteIf I was MT I would have contested the last goal.
ReplyDeleteAh hell, kill it.
There wasn't a single fucking penalty on the last play.
ReplyDeleteShit
ReplyDeleteThere ya go refs. Go get your bonuses.
ReplyDeleteBullshit Bettman call.
ReplyDeleteGo Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!
ReplyDeleteOne thing that is confusing, maybe even troubling, about this whole concussion communications conundrum (ccc™) is why no one has bothered to ask, professionally of course, shannie, for his comments and clarifications.
ReplyDeleteGo Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!
ReplyDeleteGo Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!
Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!
Mad Vodkov just punched Zetterberg.
ReplyDeleteWoooo!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, oh, CHallenged!
ReplyDeleteThey're contesting it, Brown had his stick near Mrazek.
ReplyDeleteZero contact.
ReplyDeleteWow.
ReplyDeleteCrap, no goal.
ReplyDeleteDevils 2-1 over Broons.
Robot puzzles are back.
Guessing Habs win the league trophy for most disallowed goals.
ReplyDeleteZero emotion from MT2. Eat shit you fucking lame moron.
Wings get away interfering on PatCHes.
ReplyDeleteFuck it......CaCHe it! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!
ReplyDeleteYeah!
ReplyDeletegCHyuk!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like Ghetto.
ReplyDeleteNope, Ghetto's!!!
ReplyDelete50th point for PleXXXe.
ReplyDeleteJust popping in to say hello to moe and juce...
ReplyDeleteAs for a nickname for young Joel Hanley, how about "Billy".
Thx the M. I'm kinda riled up. juce is keeping me balanced.
DeleteAwesome nick, the M.
DeletePatCHes!
ReplyDeleteWooo!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteEat shit fuckface bettman.
ReplyDeleteSlight twirl of the stick. Nice.
ReplyDeleteSafe!
ReplyDeleteGo Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!
Timber!
ReplyDeleteShould be a Wing penalty for gross embellishment.
Speaking of wood, I missed saying scott oak is thick last Saturday.
Oh, so, close.
ReplyDeleteWTF?
ReplyDeletePatCHes will get it but give the 1st star to (Y).
ReplyDeleteYeeeeehaw!! Fuck you refs and you Bettman hot-line.
ReplyDeleteStill nothing from the coward shannie.
ReplyDeleteHad FHFun juce (and FHFriends).
ReplyDeleteThanks for the company, moeman, hope you get a good night's sleep.
DeleteBienvenu juce.
DeleteTaking tomorrow off. Might sleep in, a bit . Picking up Caribbean cooked friends at the airport at noon. There better be rum!
Clod probably breathing a sigh of relief, if the Wings won tonight, they would have knocked them out of 3rd place in the Atlantic.
ReplyDeletetsn can't even get a real game pic. If I recall the Habs wore red unis tonight. Lazy fucks.
ReplyDeletehttp://montrealgazette.com/sports/hockey/nhl/montreal-canadiens/email-exchange-between-molson-bettman-on-concussions-obtained
ReplyDeleteFirst post and blogger is making me do robot puzzles.
Turns out that poll making PFK the most overrated player consisted of 28 players and 1,000 fans. 3 players voted him overrated.
ReplyDelete"Mike Richards was probably one of them"
I've been sifting through some of these emails at the end of the article.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/hockey/kelly-unsealed-emails-show-an-nhl-in-midst-of-an-existential-crisis/article29419071/
ReplyDeletehttp://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=876237
@JBernierJDM
DeleteBen Scrivens will be on the waivers at noon. Lindgren is already with the team. He will be Condon’s backup tomorrow. #CH #habs
Thanks, Scott, I only just heard. Not much left to the season to evaluate him. Depth for next year? Maybe TFS is planning on paternity leave?
DeleteRead that 5 teams competed for him, DGMB said we'll play you now and you burn a year on your entry level.
DeleteI have been curious about the potential pat leave for TFS myself. If his wife is anything like mine, the pressure to "stay injured" (wink wink nudge nudge say no more say no more) through the third trimester could be a factor no one will ever EVER talk about.
DeleteLets make a run for the 13 th pick now.
ReplyDeletePicking , 4th this year is a real toughie
ReplyDeleteToday is the 100th anniversary of cup #1.
ReplyDeleteWe are 100 years removed from that one and feels like that far to the next one, so long as that lifeless dick stays behind the bench.
Seems like Crawford is making the rounds, tonight on AC and on 690 Thursday. #networking

ReplyDeleteThe Senator is in MT 2.0 corner.
ReplyDeleteMust want something.
Go Habs
The Senator has been in his corner since day one and will defend him even after he's gone.
DeleteHoly CH, the logo on Lindgren's St Cloud's sweater looks very much like his new one will.
