Great SF Moeman! Great ones all 'round! Another long weekend for the UK so Yeah us! Plus I have next week off to decorate my son's room while he holidays in Mexico - Git!!
Anyway - have a great weekend kids and Go Sharks!...I think...?
I'm not sure about Stamkos but he is highly skilled and still young. Is he worth the gamble? At what price? If the CH is serious about talking to him the FIRST thing they should be doing is getting PFK involved. They are BFFs, go back many years and PFK would sell Montreal like no other. Too bad DGMB doesn't have the balls to call PFK and solicit some help to wine and dine Stamkos.
Montreal Children Foundation board member and spokesman, Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban personally greeted each of the 695 guests on the red carpet.
There is no better CH representative, none. We love TFS' humble and genuine approach and awesome community work but PFK is in another realm when it comes to sharing his wealth and humanity.
Not really surprised PFK didn't make it, SFU head coach Bab$ never liked him and BBB clearly doesn't either.
Just goes to show that if a coach (esp ones with egos the size of the moon) doesn't like you. you're screwed. Clear examples are the way "T’es rien" has always PFK and his use of gCHyuk. We all know that if DDD wasn't injured, gCHyuk never would have not have gotten a top line role. Then the fat egos come out and claim credit for something that had SFA to do with and ride on the backs of talents they had no right to lay claims to.
Cooper did pretty much the same with Drouin, if Stamkos wasn't injured, he would have left him down in the AHL to rot, he also tries to credit himself for a player's talent his has SFA to do with.
Its a money grab tourney and nothing else. People think PFK has a big ego? Take a look at the arrogant pricks like sideshow babs (and dgmb and mt2) for even bigger ones. Now hoping TFS says no thanks but he is too loyal.
'Shea Weber and Alex Pietrangelo are both negative RelCorsi players the last four years.' Maybe stats guru Dumba forgot to tell Bab$. BTW I saw Weber during the playoffs and he was terrible.
Bergevin: "Listen Doug, we have Carey so we can name bad players and still win, it's all good. I know from experience" (I'm quoting Berkshire, it's actually funny)
Remember when Patrick Roy was snubbed (by gretzky) and summarily refused to play for Team Canada. Imagine if TFS said that he wanted to spend time to mend and be with his new family. ...
Getting caught up... glad to see HabsFan29 is still around. PFK had no chance to make Team Canada as he is too flashy and skilled to play defence for ol' Sourpuss and as juce and moe pointed out, BBB doesn't like him either. It's funny how even at the highest level of hockey in the world, petty politics still dictate who is favoured and who is not. I witnessed it for 10 years in minor hockey. Certain players get favoured no matter what, I think there is a lot of ass kissing behind closed doors that's it. This phoney tournament is nothing more than a Rogers/NHL/City of Toronto cash grab. Really, there is nothing to be won. World Cup of hockey? What the fuck is that anyway? Is it as prestigious as the World Senior/Junior Championships or the Olympics? Nope. Not even as important as the Memorial Cup. There's no history so who cares? I don't and won't watch a second of it.
OK, I said my piece and am now enjoying a nice local craft beer, Picaroons Blonde Ale. Up next some Black Grouse blended scotch.

Here's a thought, maybe Arrogant Fuckface's crap antiquated coaching "system" made players like PFK, gCHuk and Lego look bad. Actually, it's probably just that Rogers didn't want too many Habs players at the tournament.
Exactly. And it was all countries, not Team Underagers and Team Miscellaneous from Europe. Some people are saying Matthews over AG27 is nothing more than a marketing ploy to draw in all the leafools. I agree. Probably why phat phil didn't get picked, Rogers didn't want all the booing he would get.
We knew PFK had no chance making that team considering the 'braintrust' behind it.
gCHuk though confuses me. I can only surmise the intelligence gathered by the group in charge of that team pointed out that Galchenyuk sounds Russian, therefore wasn't even considered.
Whatever, like the M and moeman stated above, nothing but a moneygrab crap tournament. Somebody's star player will get a season ending injury and then they'll be questioning the validity of tournament. Unless it's TFS - then they'll just say serves him right - should have stayed off the ice until he was ready.
It's also because BBB still can't decide if he's a winger or a centre or will ever be a centre, he can only let them know after the season starts depending if DDD is healthy, so other teams' GMs are confused. But you're right, maybe they're also confused by his accent as well as his name.
'P.K. Subban - One of the NHL's greatest personalities and with the talent to match, Subban's apparently fallen out of favor with Hockey Canada despite being one of just four at his position with over 200 points over the last four seasons. Like Letang, he's at a disadvantage as a right-shooting defender.'
'Alex Galchenyuk - Only the greatest goal-scorer of a generation, Alex Ovechkin, found the back of the net more once teams reconvened after the All-Star break.' I think I also heard somewhere that he had 16 goals in his last 22 games.
Kessel - no longer a leaf so they took James van Riemsdyk who is instead. Like the M pointed out, they don't want the booing and like moe said it's all a cash grab for the SFU media.
SFU site PFK 'pleaded' with Bautista to go to the game but it was the other way around, he asked PFK if he had an extra ticket. Do they think people outside the gta don't have the intelligence to look at twitter accounts?
I've been staying out of all this but here's my take. This "Toronto Cup" exhibition bullshit competition is an SFU wet dream with zero credibility. I hope TFS doesn't play and I am glad PFK is not there. I wont watch a single minute of the exhibition myself and I urge everyone to completely ignore it and send a great big FUCK YOU to Rogers, Buttman and the NHL
sideshow is really just another dump and chase defence first clutch and grab run interference let's win every game 1-0 boring coach. He quickly became part of the ml$e Shamahan we are the richest team therefore we deserve to have everything to suit our needs because our part-owners spent billions of dollars on a shit product. CotUseless is right up there with SFUckers. Good one my man.
Those decisions were guided to a great extent by coach Mike Babcock, who is coaching Team Canada in a third straight best-on-best tournament after gold medal victories at the 2010 and 2014 Olympics.
"Mike Babcock was a huge help to us in formalizing and finalizing these last seven players," Armstrong said.
I also believe he had felt it would be more 'forgiving' less pressure to select him this time around because he isn't the current Norris trophy holder as he was during Sochi- easier to get away with, shall we say. He's also a leaf now, bought and paid for, lock, stock and barrel and PFK is a tranna boy playing for and supporting the community of Montreal. In his own SFU way, it simply will not do to have a Montreal Canadien who hails from tranna put in a good light.
I'll take solace in the fact that his leaf have no one who could hold a candle to PFK.
But... but... they were supposed to be unbeatable with all the "talent" they've accumulated. And midget marner doesn't get to save them. Maybe the leafools and sfuckers will "celebrate" their Memorial Cup win.
Geoff MolsonVerified account @GMolsonCHC @Domalba1 @mtlgazette @StuCowan1 contrary to what you hear/read, Larry chose to go to SJ. We wish him the best of luck in the finals! #GHG
Big Bird's agent Donnie Cape was quite clear on what happened. I seem to remember hearing or reading something where Big Bird had weighed in on what happened.
Why would Larry and his agent make this stuff up if it weren't true? What would they gain? The current habs management is steeped in cronyism. Arrogant Fuckface didn't want Larry looking over his shoulder so took the weak JJ as his "defence" coach. And Geoff Molson keeps backing these jerks up. It's sad. There's not much to look forward to anytime soon.
..and I think I remember all of us were harmonious that having Robinson to come in person to be interviewed was not necessary, they could have done it on the phone, just how long and how much and you're hired.
"It wasn’t until the Canadiens contracted Sather that the offer came. Daigneault was working at the Rangers’ prospect camp last Friday when Sather told him he would waive the final year of his contract if he wanted to leave.
By the time Daigneault arrived at his West Hartfford home Friday afternoon, a contract was waiting for him. By 3:30 in the afternoon, he was officially emplyed by the Canadiens."
Doesn't sound to me like Daigneault necessitated an 'in-person' before getting hired. It's clear what BBB and "T’es rien" did. So either Molson is lying now, or he was lied to and simply jumped into the blind foxhole.

Using the leadership skills of Ragnar Lothbroke, we should pick Dante Fabbrio with our pikc. I expect we will take Julian Gathiuer and wtf its all a crapshoot anyway.
Kirk is work! Yes, as Asst. with PP responsibilities and using the time to polish his french, waiting in the wings. It would also tighten the collar for T'es Rien in the meantime.
Well i let Mr Molson know how disappointed I am with the direction and accountability on this team and that i henceforth returned my Habs sweater i received for Christmas. I'm sure he'll be all broken up about that. But I got to thinking if we don't tell him as fans how we feel, he'll never get it. I'm still just baffled about the past 6 months. Fucking Habs Bizarro World the once proud franchise sinking to levels of the composted leaf.
I've told Mrs. Maritimer to stop buying anything with the CH on it for the time being. I will not even be buying any hockey cards in the immediate future. No accountability for the dumpster diver and his henchmen mean no coin from this old Habs supporter for now. I've put away all my hats and clothing and am now strictly undercover.
moe - she's very anti-pro sports. It's amazing we'll be married 25 years in July! She enjoys the OlympRocks as she likes to call them (harkening back to a classic Flintstones episode). But you're right - nothing better than a hottie in a hockey sweater.
I have a Price jersey that I wore during every Team Canada match at the Olympics and I will continue to wear it. And my son has a Subban jersey and my daughter still has her pink Habs baby blankie (which has always been her fave cause it's so comfy). But no new merch from me either.
I'm really enjoying The Underground and Roots, looking forward to upcoming new season of 19-2. Kunta Kinte...I love saying that now as much as the first time around.
So far Pittsburg with a generational talent like Crosby, a super Russian like Malkin, and an American who knows about foxholes looks to win the cup. They are bringing speed and finessse to a shark body slam attack and its working. Hmmm grinders are not us
The Canadiens announced Thursday night that Kirk Muller has been hired as an associate coach. The former Canadiens captain and assistant coach has spent the last two seasons as an assistant with the St. Louis Blues under Ken Hitchcock.
The simple fact that Kirk chose the Habs is the big deal here. Oh and the FHFemmes get some extra eye candy (yes I realize he is a great looking dude).
The Blues offered extensions to their coaches and Captain Kirk told them he wouldn't be returning. There may have been a chance for a promotion for him there, I hope he isn't getting screwed over.
Maybe Molson didn't like all the flack he was getting over the Big Bird fiasco, called BBB into his office and raked him over the coals for lying to him and gave him an ultimatum. I'm sure "T’es rien" had no say in this, he would feel too threatened to hire Muller.
There has been nothing but positive reaction on the hiring of Muller #fanapproved, meanwhile, many have been left flabbergasted and their jaws have dropped to their knees #suckitSFU #suckitDougArmstrong.
Good good good, right down to the "Associate" moniker. That means eMTy's motley crew of "Assistants" also sit below Muller on the pecking order. The benefits include: - Subban now has someone he can respect as a smart and talented hockey guy, no offense to JJ or the others, but if ever PK's head needs a shake, Muller could/would do so with the authority necessary - MaxPac now also has a mentor in the Captaincy department he can go to when things get extra sticky. - GChuck now has a guy to coach him who was a proven point producing forward.
'Muller could/would do so with the authority necessary' That's been his problem with MT, he exercised an authoritarian, autocratic, egotistical, "I will break you' approach", "my way or the fucking bench/pressbox for' attitude with PFK.
Muller is a communicator, a player's coach and will bring a different style and approach. he was also assistant to the Count when PFK first began playing with the Habs so they have already have some familiarity. If anything, I think PFK will welcome this.
Good Morning and Happy Sexy Friday!!

Did I miss something somewhere, they've linked to a lot of articles, have they always done this?
DeleteNever mind, it's not the Habs account. I'll be quiet now.
DeleteDDD rode his tricycle for ride your bike day
ReplyDeleteUsing the leadership skills of Ragnar Lothbroke, we should pick Dante Fabbrio with our pikc. I expect we will take Julian Gathiuer and wtf its all a crapshoot anyway.
ReplyDeleteSince crap travels downhill bbb and empty are dumping on our beloved Habs.
ReplyDelete'Stanley Cup Game 1 ratings lowest since 2012' Yeah, I'm really upset over that one.
ReplyDeleteThe CBC is interested in broadcasting the last Hip concert live. That would be sweet.

Been trying to get tickets but nearly impossible. Last chance is this Friday.
DeleteScalpers have taken over.

ReplyDeletei am against apple pay and all electronic traseabble transactions, call me parionid
DeleteKirk Muller is leaving the Blues.
ReplyDeletewe have not got the power
DeleteCome home Kirk!
DeleteKirk is work! Yes, as Asst. with PP responsibilities and using the time to polish his french, waiting in the wings. It would also tighten the collar for T'es Rien in the meantime.
DeleteWell i let Mr Molson know how disappointed I am with the direction and accountability on this team and that i henceforth returned my Habs sweater i received for Christmas. I'm sure he'll be all broken up about that. But I got to thinking if we don't tell him as fans how we feel, he'll never get it. I'm still just baffled about the past 6 months. Fucking Habs Bizarro World the once proud franchise sinking to levels of the composted leaf.
ReplyDeleteId've kept it for the gal pal to wear ...
DeleteI've told Mrs.
Deletemoe - she's very anti-pro sports. It's amazing we'll be married 25 years in July!
DeleteShe enjoys the OlympRocks as she likes to call them (harkening back to a classic Flintstones episode).
But you're right - nothing better than a hottie in a hockey sweater.
I am still going to buy the Lego Zamboni Habs edition.
DeleteI have a Price jersey that I wore during every Team Canada match at the Olympics and I will continue to wear it. And my son has a Subban jersey and my daughter still has her pink Habs baby blankie (which has always been her fave cause it's so comfy). But no new merch from me either.

DeleteNot a big Sci-fi guy but this is interesting;

We are living in the Brave New World, and it really not so bad.
DeleteI'm really enjoying The Underground and Roots, looking forward to upcoming new season of 19-2.
ReplyDeleteKunta Kinte...I love saying that now as much as the first time around.
So far Pittsburg with a generational talent like Crosby, a super Russian like Malkin, and an American who knows about foxholes looks to win the cup. They are bringing speed and finessse to a shark body slam attack and its working. Hmmm grinders are not us

ReplyDeleteI like #6, sounds like a shot at "T’es rien".
Hockey is a bidness

ReplyDeleteIf they're moving it to the Bell Centre, I think they're simply aiming for getting more seats to generate more for their charities.
the NHL has the dog house already, no room for snoop doggy
DeleteGeez, I think I may have one lying around the house, call me dude.

No more Canada AM? Does 29 know about this?
ReplyDelete29 killed it with his blinking
Delete24CH was cancelled? Dman you, sleezy management cone of silence!
ReplyDelete*Damn you*
DeleteAt least the dyslexic typing was hockey related.
DeleteThe Canadiens announced Thursday night that Kirk Muller has been hired as an associate coach. The former Canadiens captain and assistant coach has spent the last two seasons as an assistant with the St. Louis Blues under Ken Hitchcock.
ReplyDeleteOh baby!
Deleteyes first ray of sunshine of the post season
DeleteThe simple fact that Kirk chose the Habs is the big deal here. Oh and the FHFemmes get some extra eye candy (yes I realize he is a great looking dude).
DeleteWoohoo! Yes, Virginia...
DeleteThe Blues offered extensions to their coaches and Captain Kirk told them he wouldn't be returning. There may have been a chance for a promotion for him there, I hope he isn't getting screwed over.
Be very worried, "T’es rien".
Me thinks it's going to be a special SF for us FHFemmes.
DeletePresser tomorrow @11:am, look for "T’es rien" to squirm.
DeleteWatCH the Muller effect on the PP.
ReplyDeleteOn the flip side, the team improves with Muller and "T’es rien" is safe, backup for Carey's knee.
ReplyDeleteAs Steve pointed out first good news in like forever. Arrogant Fuckface's nose will be out of joint.
ReplyDeletePlayed 36 holes today, took a power cart this morning and walked this evening. Man I am beat but the Muller news perked me up.
Ooh. Mrs. the M. is a lucky gal!
DeleteMaybe Molson didn't like all the flack he was getting over the Big Bird fiasco, called BBB into his office and raked him over the coals for lying to him and gave him an ultimatum. I'm sure "T’es rien"
ReplyDeletehad no say in this, he would feel too threatened to hire Muller.
THe best part is he does not have to speak French, he will have the standard issue Starfleet universal translator
ReplyDeleteThere has been nothing but positive reaction on the hiring of Muller #fanapproved, meanwhile, many have been left flabbergasted and their jaws have dropped to their knees #suckitSFU #suckitDougArmstrong.
ReplyDeleteHaving a daughter attending McGill sure doesn't hurt either.
ReplyDeleteAssociate Coach is basically a co-coach, Muller should be equivalent to empty, he can even tell JJ to fuck off if he wants to.
ReplyDeletemaybe we will come up with an actual system that utilizes the strengths and minizies the weaknesss of our talent pool
DeleteAgree the M. I highly doubt he would have agreed to come here just to be another one of MT's lap dogs.
DeleteGood good good, right down to the "Associate" moniker. That means eMTy's motley crew of "Assistants" also sit below Muller on the pecking order. The benefits include:
ReplyDelete- Subban now has someone he can respect as a smart and talented hockey guy, no offense to JJ or the others, but if ever PK's head needs a shake, Muller could/would do so with the authority necessary
- MaxPac now also has a mentor in the Captaincy department he can go to when things get extra sticky.
- GChuck now has a guy to coach him who was a proven point producing forward.
Thank you Bergy!!!
'Muller could/would do so with the authority necessary'
DeleteThat's been his problem with MT, he exercised an authoritarian, autocratic, egotistical, "I will break you' approach", "my way or the fucking bench/pressbox for' attitude with PFK.
Muller is a communicator, a player's coach and will bring a different style and approach. he was also assistant to the Count when PFK first began playing with the Habs so they have already have some familiarity. If anything, I think PFK will welcome this.
