CHevy in the shop, I can take trading Lego and PFK but putting the next one on the shelf just when he is getting his legs, that it I am off to Nashville.
Through the first four games, Weber is averaging a team-high 26:47 of ice time to go with one goal, three assists and a plus-6.
Meanwhile, P.K. Subban is averaging 25:12 of ice time per game with the Nashville Predators with two goals, one assist and a minus-4.
I was wondering if the goings-on in the foxhole have the Habs on Santa's naughty list and that's why we keep getting a lump of Cole for our broadcasts?
Hey the M - maybe you can get a selfie with Tara Slone. She's more professional than the rest of that crew that have been on-air for eons, but she was born in Montreal and raised in NS so must have more sense that the SFU.
Didn't get close to her at anytime but I got the Breezer to sign a card. I'm down with that. I might take a shoot down to the waterfront again tomorrow.
Holy fuck bob cold and greg millen have no fucking idea what's going on. Can't Rogers find any qualified announcers to replace these clowns? There's decent guys working in junior that call a better game. For fucks sake Rogers retire cold's senile ass.
Just came here to type the same thing the M. Fucking painful to listen to. Cole is 127 years old. What the fuck is Millen's excuse for being so goddamned stupid?
They really need to promote John and Jason to do the national broadcasts.
To be fair, the Radulov 'embellishment' was actually him losing an edge so should have been neither a penalty for him or the Boston player. There was only 2 minutes on the high stick to Mitchell because he scored on the play, nullifying the first 2 minutes of the 4 minute minor.
Juce, I know you are still unhappy about the PK trade but let me say this. First, like most everyone else, I was a fan of PK. But, immediately after the trade I saw a young(ish) Habs fan in a store (he was wearing a Habs hat) and asked him what he thought. He liked the deal. I have since spoken to other people Habs fans and otherwise who all liked the trade. Today, down at the Hometown Hockey site, I was first in line to get my hockey card signed by Patrice Brisebois and another Habs fan joined me and he asked ME about it. I replied I was still a little bitter about it but he said he liked it. His line of thinking was basically in sync with what Price said: "PK didn't fit our system." He said PK turned the puck over way to much and in retrospect he was not wrong. Don't get me wrong I could live with the risk/reward but the team couldn't anymore. So, we have to accept the fact that Bergevin and Therrien are running the team and the players don't. Neither do we. I accept that Shea Weber is now a Montreal Canadien and I will cheer for him and the rest of the players. What I DON'T accept is that Bergevin and Therrien were disingenuous about PK and why he was traded from the get go. I don't believe that Bergevin was approached by David Poile to trade Shea Weber, why would he? I believe it was the other way around and Therrien can deny it all he wants but it was a personality trade. All they had to do was say so and I would understand. It was all the dishonesty that irked me and probably many others, not so much the deal itself, which is a wash at the moment. One thing I will say, is Bergevin got back equal value for PK which Reggie Houle never, ever did for Patrick Roy.
Anyway, the boys looked good for the most part but N8 is still making the odd bonehead play, I wouldn't be surprised if he's part of a deal for a legitimate center. The reason I say this is: It's a long, long, long way until April and the Habs have no chance at winning the Cup with the top 3 that currently have. Not. A. Chance. It could be why they are scouting the Sharks, Stars and Avs.
It's also how the media hype him every word they speak. During the game, after missing the net, repeated each time, 'what a canon of a shot', along those lines, but not that he missed but if it was PK they would only mention that he missed. Praise him when he does well, that's fine, but at least wait till he does first. All the local media is beating the same drum. Let the fans watch and let them judge for themselves instead of trying to force-feed. The media is circling the wagons around MB and MT. I wasn't trying to be negative about Weber game, just pointed out how the media said pre-game that he would make the broons feel pain and that wasn't the case. Their hyping is over the top.
Yeah, the media. They are afraid to bite the hand that feeds them. I guess you can't blame them for suck-holing to keep their privileges, although Stu Cowan over at the Gazette was raking MT, MB and GM over the coals for months after the deal.
A good comparison of why PFK couldn't and wouldn't fit into the old white hockey establishment, look at the NFL. Just about every time a running back or wide receiver scores a touchdown, they get flagged or fined for celebrating. They call it the No Fun League for a reason.
Joe Thornton ain't leaving Californication, even if Weber and Price beg him to come to the Habs. Ever notice when Joe does his between period interviews he's always topless, especially if Christine Simpson is the host? Heh, heh, what's up with that, trying to rattle her??
Finally, one thing we know for sure now is MB isn't afraid to pull the trigger on a mega deal.
Nilan had Savard on his show Friday and he told him that he thinks Nilan should be hired as ambassador because the Habs don't have an English speaking one. (really?) He told Nilan that he also told Molson they should make him an ambassador. Coincidence? It's like a pat on the head to Anglo media for a 'job' well done. Maybe already decided since Savard said publicly that he and Molson discussed the matter. Nilan should be ambassador based on other merits not the 'good' relationship the media has with the team now. Why didn't they do this last year when Nilan was saying he couldn't even talk to a player without jumping through hoops and it was easier to get into Fort Knox or the Pentagon? (I forget which, but something like that) or the year before? Marinaro is beating the drum so loud surprised he isn't the chosen one.
Winning forgives many sins. Boston pressured us like hydrogen in a tomahak reactor but we did not fuse.N8 looked more like a 4/5 than a N2 but in the end we won. Y also seemed to go all puppy dog in decision making and being house broken. The forwards berift of the blender played like scrambled eggs all night and the PP shit the bed. Still we won and too his credit eMTy did not revert to form. Misakes washed off him like corruption off a Clinton. Maybe PFK drove him crazy, PFK used up all the mistakes for the whole team and he took it out on everybody else. I would love to see DDD with Leko and CHe for a few shits, also gCHuck with Leko and CHe. And CHevy put him with BBQ for a fry, he could not be worse than N8 last night. I am hopeful its just growing pains.
Speaking of falling down little fuck faces there in Rona Ambrose, and we have DDD, for sure he is a good guy not comparing him to a total whack job at the trough of pigs. We all know given all the mistakes little DDD could be replaced on the third line with a Swatz sandwich and we would all go there just for the taste of victory that comes with mustard. This is a team of mystery and we have eMTY at the throne free of the constriaints of PFK at the building of Louisberg. Do not panic, that is the thing that seperates the non players from the SWAT men. I panic everytime so I know its true. If you dont panic you can win in combat, and that is a little slice of what the NHL player is in. Most players at this elite level panic all the time, its because the coaches have programeed them to fear failure instead of embrace it. Those players that ingore the coach win stanley cups

Go You Fucking Habs Go!
ReplyDeleteNo Tukka tonight. Wonder why they never use Malcom.
ReplyDeleteMalformed got chased after 2 goals at night against the ice caps. 2nd game in a row he has been phlled. I reckon he sucks...
DeleteMalColm...2nd game in a row he has been pulled...bloody autocorrect

They all got food poising from soup eaten during the pre-game last night. Who knows who's going to play vs the Pens tonight.
DeleteWon't be around tonight FHFers. Mom and sisters are back from NYC. Pizza!
ReplyDeleteAll the best to a Jacques Demers who suffered another stroke.
ReplyDeleteUgh, bob cold tonight. Oh well, a few drinks should cure that.
ReplyDeleteGo you fuckers go! I'm generally opposed to animal cruelty, but will accept up to 4 bear beatdowns per year.
ReplyDeleteGo you fuckers go! I'm generally opposed to animal cruelty, but will accept up to 4 bear beatdowns per year.
ReplyDeleteGood ol' Ron and Don... the leaf lovefest never stops. They are consistent at least.
ReplyDeleteBook 'em Daneault!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen this place so empty on a Saturday night vs the broons.
ReplyDeletePossible Budaj call in LA tonight. Goalie situation in a bad way in LaLa Land.

DeleteThe damned 2-0 lead.
ReplyDeleteY why, having a horrible game, CHevy would have stopped that two on one just saying.
ReplyDeleteLB, Cold made it sound like Boston Scroed
ReplyDeleteLb scores then the broons get another. Good game so far.
ReplyDelete(Y) misses Pretzel, it throws off his game not getting stabbed in the balls from behind.

Hey Steve, I'm half way through the new season of Longmire. Pretty decent so far. Hector Lives...for now.
ReplyDeleteI finished it a week ago, it was one of the best so far. Lots of gratuitus Starbuck
DeleteCole: "OHH he doesn't blast it through and the Bruins are going to score..maybe!"
ReplyDeleteReal fucking professional. Jeezus.
trenchwar win
ReplyDeleteAwful, awful broadcast, Rogers should be ashamed of that shitshow.
ReplyDeleteI've learned that my communication regarding these issues leads nowhere but I will continue to let them know how terrible they are.
DeleteAnd another blown 3rd period lead in Tronna and into OT.
ReplyDeleteI thought (Y) had a good game.
ReplyDeleteFunny that when the broons will be short 2 men that there is always an off-setting 'embellishment'.
Would love to know why a stick to the face that requires stitches is only 2mins i/o 4.
Pre-game hype was how much pain Weber was going to inflict on the broons, didn't happen. (Y) was laying the hits.
KidA, what can you say, he brings it every shift, every game and Lb is a speed demon.
To be fair, the Radulov 'embellishment' was actually him losing an edge so should have been neither a penalty for him or the Boston player.
DeleteThere was only 2 minutes on the high stick to Mitchell because he scored on the play, nullifying the first 2 minutes of the 4 minute minor.
Gotcha.
DeleteI guess it's the same as scoring on a delayed penalty.
DeleteAnd Leko, guys a real keeper, watch for MB's "I'm not shopping him but call me I'll listen'
ReplyDeleteShark's insider - 'second straight Sharks game there have been multiple scouts from Montreal here'
ReplyDeleteFleury pulled replaced by Sheik. Preds leading 5-1 in the 3rd. All the best to Sheik.

One player I always hoped the Habs would go after was Hossa.

ReplyDeleteBonus, it would move the leaf up in the long time losers list.
