You know the little fuckity fuck was taken in the 2nd round in that draft and Micheal EZ Ryder in the 8th. And our other famous Russian Andre Bashkirov in the 5th, one round before Vodkov. Bashkriov sounds more like he was with the Russian Ballet. Played 30 games in late 90's early otts with 3 assists. I do not remember him one iota.
I remember him, played for the Fredericton Canadiens, looked just like an Asian-heritage co-worker of mine. My friend Vince born of Chinese immigrant parents had quite a sense of humour. He referred to himself as a "banana"... yellow on the outside but white on the inside. In turn about fair play, he said we white folks all looked the same, round-eyed dog-faced Joes! He cracked me up!
The Habs mined some gold in the later rounds of the draft, 1st round not so much other than Carey and Max.
I'll be watching my Sea Dogs play Rimouski tonight, but I'll check in periodically on the Habs. They'll probably lose to another bottom feeder so, whatever.
However, I don't get to say this very often: Go You Philthy Phuckers Go!!
"With eight games left, it seems inevitable that the teenager from Arizona will break the 31-year record. And that's fine by Clark, who has mentored the first overall pick through his freshman season in the center of the hockey universe."
SFU hubris knows no bounds. I'd like see:
1) the leaf go on an 8 game losing streak and fall out of a playoff spot and,
2) Laine score 50 goals to win the Calder.
Just to crush those arrogant fucks hopes and dreams.
Laine could score 76 (see what I did there?) but methinks the SFU votes are cemented since the 'lottery'. Not going to suggest that Matthews isn't a/the top rookie in the running but the SFU will make sure he wins. They are a truly desperate bunch.
Since I'm home alone tonight I think some amaretto on the rocks and/or 12 year old Special Batch Canadian Club whiskey is in order. Even if it is only Tuesday.
Yup. Have the fine whiskey, save the last few gulps (see what I did there?) and add a splash of Amaretto (or maple syrup). Our resident lawyer/bartender may confer later.
Evening kidz! I am kind of busy working on something (my Freedom on the Internet report for this year) but I've got the game on in the background, fingers crossed it's not another trap game
Missed the game but on the surface, 4-1 with goals from. The top line and second? Line ? Is good. TFS keeps goals against to a minimum and the Sens lose in s/o...all good I guess. Nice win les boys!
Holy Fuck Batmann ZeroHedge under DOS attack, put that in a freedom file.
Great game, loved the Vodkov moment and the Leko snipe, Che showed his revolutionary rockets, and Patches was all my Capitian. With KidA back someone print up some milkjugs with gCHucks mug on them. Ladies and Gentelmen we are ready to compete in the biggest sporting event in human history. The race for the cup. Go You Fucking Habuzu iChiban Ikimaso!
Congrats to the General for his historic moment last night, far more significant than the "moment" at the acc that the SFU are masturbating to this morning. One of the headlines at ts(fu)n : Who has the hardest shot, nylander or auston? Ha ha. Everybody knows Steve has the hardest shot.
While flipping back and forth between games last night I did see Leko's goal. Talk about hard shots, I didn't think you could beat any NHL goalie from that far out. Lindy looked pretty pissed.
Goddamnit. This team keeps winning, now they'll have to play the might Rangers who are a full 2 points ahead of them with an extra game played! Whatever will the Habs do?! So dumb - should be losing these games! /end of dumb SFU logic
Hey the M - regarding Leko's goal on fellow Fin Lehto, it WAS a knuckler you could see he hit the face of the puck straight on and it dipped. Still looked terrible though - thought Ruff was going to explode.
I was stuck on the phone a few times, big wedding coming up for my niece next week so I was way behind the game.
Nice standing ovation for Vodkov tying Pointu in points setting up Leko to score. This guy was born with his heart shaped like the CH logo. The crowd will go absolutely nuts when he passes the legend's milestone. Imagine would what would be if he didn't have the injuries.
Good for Che and PatCHes finally getting on the scoreboard. TFS gave them the chance to win.
You know how i've been saying fuck da broons all along. Well I'd rather have the broons in the playoffs than the bolts. If you imagine the seeding ending up like it is now, the two wildcard teams would actually cross over into the other division. For example if the broons managed to beat the Caps, they would then play the winner of Pens/BJs (likely Pens) with the winner moving onto the ECF.
I can see the Habs beating the Rags and leaf/turd winner to get there. I can't see the broons doing the above, but I could see the bolts doing it and they are playoff Kryptonite to the Habs. I'd rather play the Pens, maybe even the Caps in the ECF.
And the game also marked another accolade for TFS. With his 35th win on the season he became just the 3rd goaltender in team history to do that three times behind Dryden and Plante who each have 4 seasons.
Brampton is closer to Montreal than St. John's. They've been having weather problems as well. Poor Cape Breton, they'll have gotten 40cm of snow by tonight. Old Man Winter won't give up...
I gave CJv2 some hair!
ReplyDeleteGo you fucking Habs go!
ReplyDeleteSt Pad, I binge watched Into the Badlands, I had never heard of it until your rec.
ReplyDeleteEverybody was kung fu fighting, everyone was fast as lightining and then there is Jade. Great show, among if not the best dystopian future show ever.
Also Rouge One is out in DVD quality. I was Meh, great story, effects, but someone forgot to work on script, acting and direction.
Go Habuzu iCHiban
Game buzz is bro vs bro. Go Habs Go!!

Inigo was scheduled to start bit suffered an LBI at practice, he cant even skate backwards. Fucale called up to backup TFS.
ReplyDeleteMake that morning skate which was optional, 11 showed up.
DeleteJust heard that Fucale has been called up. I thought he was in the ECHL...have the Habs not got anyone they can spare on the rock?
ReplyDeleteThere could be weather issues in St Johns because winter just won't fuck off and die.
DeleteMaybe because they're in a playoff spot and don't want to falter? and with the timing Brampton is closer than the rock.
DeleteHow FHF'n gorgeous is Pamela!?
ReplyDeleteOh, HEY! Yes indeed - great minds...and fools.
DeleteI guess FHommes would say she has the tools?
DeleteShe does.
DeletePre-surgeries Pam is FHFreakin' amazing! Is the plaid shirt in recognition of Pateryn's return or just a happy coincidence?
ReplyDeleteWish him well but not tonight.
DeleteNice catCH on the plaid.

CK with the extended smile. Moey will melt.
Deletets(fu)n is in full manic Matthews mode. The SFU Calder sell job is going full throttle. I hope he wins as many Cups as Wendel.
ReplyDelete"With eight games left, it seems inevitable that the teenager from Arizona will break the 31-year record. And that's fine by Clark, who has mentored the first overall pick through his freshman season in the center of the hockey universe."

DeleteYup. Have the fine whiskey, save the last few gulps (see what I did there?) and add a splash of Amaretto (or maple syrup). Our resident lawyer/bartender may confer later.
Deleteoven mitts for dinner?
DeleteI recommend you take a shot glass, fill it 2/3 full of amaretto then top with CC...a true snowmobiling drink!
DeleteAmaretto overpowers other things. Keep that part of your ratio low
DeleteYes, I noticed that, I'll be reversing the mix. Thx 29.
DeleteGreat read;

Taco bake. Cava.

ReplyDeleteOh oh.
ReplyDeleteOver their last six games, the Stars are 4-1-1 outscoring opponents 16-9.

DeleteGo Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou could see that coming.
ReplyDeleteJame, meet (Y).
ReplyDeleteSoiling the bedsheets again are they?
ReplyDelete1-1 after 1, Saint John - Rimouski.
Should the Rimouski announcers be calling the Sea Dogs le Chiens de la Mer? They are calling them Sea Dogs btw.
(delayed) patCHes!!!!
ReplyDeleteover my shoulder it sounds like they are playing quite well at least. Bartlett sounds very excited
Habs finally pot one?
ReplyDeleteLes Chiens de la Mer lead 3-1 after 2.
29 was right, the amaretto was overpowering the CC, my last sip of the evening is CC on the rocks.
Leko!
ReplyDeleteBack from picking up my son, listened in the car.
ReplyDeleteNice standing O for Vodkov.
ReplyDeleteChé!
ReplyDeleteSolid win.
ReplyDeleteYeah! And the Sea Dogs win 5-2, lead series 3-0.

DeleteLindgren called up, Fucale sent back.
ReplyDeleteRowe: Panthers' core not safe from trades.
ReplyDeleteGet on the horn MB, bring Huberdeau home. He was a Habs fan growing up.
To bad we already traded DDD, maybe they would take SuperPlexxxe?
