Oh Man! I loved Deadwood. Al Swearengen was the best written character to come along at the time (2004) since Tony Soprano...but it only lasted 3 years and they teased fans for years about a movie that never came...never mind - it's great to watch over and over...unlike the Habs futile attempts to score goals so far this year. But I remain positive and upbeat - they can only get better and I know that they will.
This Schelmko character they keep mentioning better be the second coming of Serge Savard or else BBB is going to have to go out on the market for some more 4th line D men...and we don't really want any more of them. It's a work night so I probably will only be around for the 1st period...I wonder what they will do to introduce the players this year?...maybe something really cool like having each of them skate out holding the torch and passing it on to the next player...oh hang on - maybe that's been done before...I know - have a little kid (you know - the future") skate out to centre ice with the torch, kneel down and touch the torch to the dot at centre...Suddenly the whole rink explodes into fire and light...hmmm....thinking I've seen that one before too...I know - much like the time Dryden passed the torch to TFS, let's get the Habs greatest (living) Centre to pass the torch to Drouin...I know that the Pocket Rocket probably isn't up for this kind of ceremony any more, and Lemaire works for the leaf, so let's get Saku! To you from failing hands we throw the torch, be yours to hold it high...Nos bras meurtris vous tendent le flambeau, à vous toujours de le porter bien haut.
I can promise you it won't entail a Centurian. I'm always hoping for something with Jay Baruchel and Doug Glatt, but the Clue de Hockey Canadiens ran out of a sense of humour some time around the failed coaching of either Boom Boom Geoffrion or Bob Berry.
Yikes its like the Dutch Tulip Bulb crash of 1679. My hats off to the fans of Montreal keeping the earth cool with all those hydro electric dams, oh and the Hockey fans equally sophisticated, stimulated and sustainable, all they ask for is fair ball or there will be chairs flying on the street and strippers filling assault charges, overworking the worlds most Gallic police, its the Napoleon complex. Every security guard wants to be a cop and all cops want to be Napoleon.
Frank Zappa was an artist I did not appreciate greatly and history has mostly forgotten his name. I think of him twice a year when I get my teeth cleaned and there is a Dental Floss Technician and I always ask "are you from Omaha?" Every time she tells me you asked me that six months ago and I said "NO"
I just have to break away into true life tales of personal servants conversations. When I was 14 my barber was not a barber she was a hairdresser named Mabel and she was Raquel in the flesh and rubbing my temples and scalp delicate. Her protruding body parts bouncing like everykind of air suspension system under a light load you can imagine.
One day I just said " on the table Mable, the money is not for a haircut"
I 1000% agree with K3X's assumed sentiment about retiring the torch ceremony. I think they started that in their centennial season of 2009 and it has done jack squat for them since. Time for a new idea. In fact I hope they keep it small...but I'm actually missing the first period so it doesn't really matter.
we should have trying to make fire ceromey with all the Pure Wools gathered in a circle with flints in one hand and ice cubes in the other, nevertheless they still make fire. The crowd errupts we have fire on ice once again.
Fire on ice we are going that way again. Druid is connected to the elements and Danno is all like volcano fire in Hawaii where the torch really means something. All you doomsayers and belibers in the Yellow Stone Supervolcano for this season should just chill, and take a heat pump to cool down your hearts before they explode at something unexpected. To be honest after a few decades expect us to fail, but what the heck its the journey not the destination, so just enjoy the ride and if they toss you out a twenty thousand feet to save the management, thank them for the ride.
The death of a cynic is when he starts to believe in anything. The CH I can believe like Howie died and the ice was CHurch, and the Rocket set the city of fire because of Buttman or some other manifestation of the man that keeps us from flying off this earth Le Gross Bill epitomized the superstar in hockey and we will never see his grace on and off the ice ever again he was a man of legends and for centuries of futillity and a few triumps the people of montreal will remember him as he walked the streets with Cohen living Gods
Then came the master swordsmen like Lafluer Roy and Price but only the flower could carry the fire to ice
So just curious...did you guys happen to notice if the tranna sports network only showed a couple of Leaf players being announced at their home opener...or did they play the whole thing start to finish? Just curious...
What'd I miss? Back from opening night of curling. So humid the rocks were sweating. It was 40 degrees in the bar. Good way to try to sell more beer. Home and both tvs are called for so I'm sitting outside in t-shirt and shorts looking for a stream on my tablet. In the middle of October.
I get mine from onhockey.tv loads of feeds...find the Montreal game then select the YouTube feed...wait the 25 second or so then you are good to go...sadly it is tsn...
I say not this year, maybe before the trade deadline. He is our biggest threat to score, OMG he is our biggest threat to score, its like saying Andrew Scheer is our biggest threat to become PM.
You know, 3-1 is pretty respectable against the Hawks. I say we play an even 3rd, clog up the neutral zone and keep pucks away from Carey and we can call this a moral victory.
Then go home, regroup and shift the focus to keeping the Leafs to 6 goals or less.
By setting realistic performance targets, morale will improve and we should be able to score as many as two goals in a single game again by February/early March… with a bit of puck luck.
The problem as I see it is this team has no heart, no push back. When they are down they know it's over.
When Bergy took over he said he would build through the draft. That is what I wanted. There is no use in trading for star players when you're own core sucks. They HAVE to rebuild. Time to say goodbye to Price, Weber et al. Everybody over 25 out the door for picks and prospects. It only took the leaf 3 years, one for observation, two drafts getting high picks and they are off and running. Wake the fuck up Molson. The Clown show has to stop.
I dont wanna go through the laundry list but our first round drafts have been busts. Now gCHuck is going to go for a second if we are lucky. He can score 30 goals but he is not good enough for the Canadiens.
Barreling down the tracks is the Patches contract. He is worth for to five mill. If we sign him to seven or eight we can forgeetaboot it.
logic that we refused. TFS is getting beaten by goals no goalie could stop. So why have a ten million dollar goalie? A Ferrarri is a beautiful car but useless in a Montreal winter or with road conditions as they are maybe summer as well.
Just like when they traded Kirk Muller, then Saint Patrick, trading PK cut the heart out of the team. Pacioretty is a bigger Tin Man than Pierre Turgeon ever was. gCHuk is a head case. Price and Weber are supposed to lead the team, one of them needs to start kicking some arses in the room.
So I read that they are shopping Streit and Hemsky - why not just waive them and buy Streit out? No one will claim him. Hemsky could go sit in Laval. Something tells me his contract is more expensive. Bbb will have to admit how hard it is again and that he made a mistake...so I doubt this happens
Could have had Jagr for the same price as Hemsky. I don't know if MB has always felt threatened by #68 or what the deal is, but he just wouldn't go down that road, even 5 years ago when Jagr openly stated he'd like to play for Montreal. Not saying Jagr would have put the Habs over the top (not saying he wouldn't have), but those years the boys were putting up lots of wins, the million or so games of experience he would have brought would have been very valuable.
Hang on...did I ask for this? I just said rather than waste time trying to get more pucks for him just put him on waivers - no one will touch him...I was proven correct...
on the bright side, gHetto is a having a carrer year proving we can develop talent. Secondly to make us forget the present pain we have commished a leaf like over the board bronze, first cast will have DDD mounting the springboard just waiting for the last min of play tap.
Of course that list is...questionable. Don't get me wrong, Makers Mark is excellent. But I can name 5 bourbons better. And at roughly the same price point, Woodford Reserve beats Makers hands down. And it is not even on the list??? Da fuck?
Bergevin: "Hmph!? Who could've guessed that a different aging defenceman wouldn't be the same as Markov?" (Insert shoulder shrug with adorable head tilt and cheesy grin)
I alledge that gCHuck has the two stippers till dawn flu, the only cure is to start earlier. Next game he plays if he is little boy lost out there I say healthy scratch, game back, no cure off to winnipeg. He will not want to be beat up by a stripper there, they are all polar bears.
gCHuck because math is hard I will make this simple you are a top ten percent talent in the NHL that means you are in the top 40 and have demonstrated that you could be a top ten or at least a top twenty player so get the fuck out of bed you fucking lazy punk
If we don't score tonight,
ReplyDeletewe are all going to die. It's a certainty.

ReplyDeletePlease prove me wrong...Cash it!
ReplyDeleteanother period we should up, did nothing special and we left
ReplyDeleteTrudeau has promised Hempsky will be legal next year, so why is playing for us now?
Hard to imagine this team scoring 3 more goals. I wonder how long before we see gchuk+ to the Avs for Duchesne? I say before the end of the month.
ReplyDeleteWorst period of the season so far...problem with Chucky to the Avs us we will have to add a decent player to make it worth their while...

I have no friggin' idea. Just imagine how insufferable they would be if the leafs actually get decent one day. Perish the thought.
