Meanwhile on Earth two the Habs have been proved correct going with the young goaltender. A tale of two franchises. https://thehockeywriters.com/andrei-vasilevskiy-lightning/
FEAR THE COLLAPSE. Not sure who said it first maybe Mitch? He was probably joking but the collapse is real. For the most part I think its a good thing. Panama Papers, Paradise files its all good if applied the right way. As for TFS, I am well known for my jaunty tin foil hats, in fact I may start my own fashion line of anti surveillance clothing. It does not matter to me that I am doing something wrong, because I am right and I do not appreciate some IT clown predicting what I should buy to the extent I cant refuse. I just bought a reworked Mini for 60 grand and its a great car for 1964 but man I was bought in this plan.
Bottom line this farnchise will never win a cup by being compentet. You have to be Jaques Cousteua and you can sell that to the french we are diving to find talent
Not sure I want to watch this one, I'm not really interested in watching another of Gary's desert experiments. Still feeling tired anyway and my body clock hasn't made the transition yet either. So, have fun kidz and GHG!!
There is little to like about anything in/from toronto but Roy Halladay was an exquisite player that was fun to watch and enjoy. To see the SFU try to wrap themselves in HIS accomplishments, humility and professionalism speaks volumes to how low they sink to pat themselves on their extremely weak backs.
I'm lying on a lounge chair on the balcony, it's warm, rain is falling softly, the sound of the waves in the background. Listening to the Habs on the radio. It truly does not get better than this.
SinM here on mobile: just want to add my vote for the nick: the kid just matched Dryden by winning his first five games as a Hab. That and his cool calm demeanor make him CHill
Sorry The M...with respect - no one else should ever wear that number. CHill is only 5 games into his career with the Habs. With Mickey Mouse running the show, for all we know he is being showcased as trade bait for another over the hill french speaking 3rd line D man and an undersized journeyman center...If he manages to win the Conn Smythe this year, then we can have a re-think...
I haven't managed to see much of the actual games yet, but watched the final two periods last night. I saw in CHill exactly the kind of goaltending the team has lacked since the first game against Buffalo. I even enjoyed the boringness of the guys trying to protect the lead. CHill has a great glove and a dominant presence. Lagace looked great too, especially on Leko's one-timer from a sweet gCHuck feed. Looks like he liked playing Centre again, which might be important if Druid broke something in his hand, as I fear. We might be okay. I hope TFS stays out until fully healthy. Brendan Kelly the non-journalist offering what "people are saying" about Carey Price - on CBC radio one 88.5 - Ms. Rusnak was not amused and neither was I.
Forget Ken Dryden. He only won his first 6 games. Wayne Thomas is where it's at. He won his first 7...and by all accounts did a very good job keeping the pucks out of the net when Ken decided to take a year to finish his lawyering stuff (along with a couple of other no-names in Bunny Larocque and Michel Plasse). Though I think they lost in round one of the playoffs that year...that sounds familiar.
So McM sent back to Laval. 0 points and 10 min in penalties in 10 games. 4th line minutes mostly so what do you expect. He should at least be given a shot on the 2nd PP unit to stand in front of the net.
Anyway, Freeze has been recalled. He's apparently doing well in the A. Ex leaf who happened to be drafted by Chicago (ie MB) in 2009. Imagine that.
The thing with McM - he stood in front of the net well and at 6'6' he was creating a presence. Someone scored last night for the Habs thanks to a screen by McM (can't remember who). I suppose if he was only going to get under 10 mins a game he will do more Laval and prepare for the next call up. Freeze is in next. CJ has his own blender of sorts it would appear...
I was only kidding earlier about un-retiring #29, he is my all-time great in the Habs net. I like this Lindgren kid though, he's better than Big Al, I would feel better about him backing up Price and filling in for a while if Carey doesn't get his shit together. The SFU were saying last night that Lindgren is a great insurance policy for GMGQ, he's on a two way contract and doesn't need to go through waivers this year or next. Apparently, teams were calling about him earlier but the GM said thanks, but no thanks. He's only 23, lots of time for him to build on his career.
For Alzner I like LZ landing zone because he is kinda like a vietnam era throwback. Plus a bit of HMS Gill. Morrow i like (t) cause its a Sopraones ref and we lost (Y)
Q: have you adpated to the zone system yet? A: I should not even have to adapt, MB told me the System was let Cary stop the puck. My role was just to get up the the cap ceiling so the fans would believe we were doing everthing to win. As far a man to man, I like it, I follow my man into the washroom between periods. This zone thing is stupid, if a guy leaves the kitchen you cant go into the living room?
Meanwhile on Earth two the Habs have been proved correct going with the young goaltender.
ReplyDeleteA tale of two franchises.

Marinaro says TFS was spotted at the radiology department in the RVH yesterday.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Marinaro works at TMZ.

DeleteGreat moevember post sir!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Mrs. Pad would let me stop for that hitchhiker? You know, for the poor girl's safety.
Looks like CHarlie starts. CJ2 says TFS’s injury is not related to the one 2 seasons ago and that it hasn’t been a lingering one.
ReplyDeleteDidn't he and TFS both say post game vs Wild that he wasn't injured?
In any event Go Habs Go!!!

R.I.P. Roy Halladay
ReplyDeleteR.I.P., way too young.
DeleteR.I.P.
DeleteKidz! The half-half jersey will be making its Bell Centre debut this season tonight. I'll be the guy falling down drunk, should be easy enough to spot
ReplyDeleteNot sure I want to watch this one, I'm not really interested in watching another of Gary's desert experiments. Still feeling tired anyway and my body clock hasn't made the transition yet either. So, have fun kidz and GHG!!
ReplyDeleteGet better theM.!

ReplyDeleteLet's see if this team is for real! Come on CHarlie. Go you fucking Habs Go!

Delete3-1, hang on boys! In 29's absence of course.
ReplyDelete... and 92's as Druid is out of the game ...
DeleteI'm lying on a lounge chair on the balcony, it's warm, rain is falling softly, the sound of the waves in the background. Listening to the Habs on the radio. It truly does not get better than this.
ReplyDeleteImagine if you snuck Jackson in your luggage.
Delete3-2
ReplyDeleteDecent win with 3 games in 4 nights and 6 points.
ReplyDeleteHalf-half is 1-0 for the season!
ReplyDeleteI realize it was 3 G in 4 nights, but we did not play anything close to decent hockey.
Anyway, next stop .500! wooooo!
A win is a win is a win is a win...and CHarlie gets another!
ReplyDeleteSinM here on mobile: just want to add my vote for the nick: the kid just matched Dryden by winning his first five games as a Hab. That and his cool calm demeanor make him CHill
ReplyDeleteCan they un-retire #29 and let Lindgren wear it during his tenure with the Habs? They could use a little good karma.

DeleteIt was Benn. I just hope McM isn't too discouraged by this because I thought he was playing pretty well.
DeleteI am down with CHill, and Freeze or maybe ICE and when ICE gets a pass from (T) you have....
ReplyDeleteDruid wrist is shot, gonna need stripper help to take care of biz.

ReplyDeleteI missed the game after the 1st so can't really comment on that. I'll (they'll) take the win! GYFHG!
ReplyDeleteCHill is looking good. Too bad for Budaj, I mean, Montoya...
Hey FHFers, I got a start on updating the nicks page at http://fourhockeyfans.blogspot.ca/p/nicknames.html
ReplyDeleteI've highlited in yellow some that I'm unsure about.
Feel free to drop comments or suggestions in that page or on these gameday posts.
Good hustle, new guy! Management has noticed your effort
DeleteYES! It's a red letter day indeed! BTW, did you notice the very obscure homage to the half and half.
DeleteGood stuff St. Pad.
DeleteRemember the link to the nicks is always in the sidebar.
Ha! Just saw it. Thanks St Pad!
DeleteFor Alzner I like LZ landing zone because he is kinda like a vietnam era throwback. Plus a bit of HMS Gill.
ReplyDeleteMorrow i like (t) cause its a Sopraones ref and we lost (Y)
I like AlZZZner because his play usually puts me to sleep
DeleteZ3PO cause I understand he speaks a lot of languages as well
Deleteoffical T video
https://youtu.be/zsxthFO-HWs
You will LOL
With the new talent FHF is now officially more ready for the season than the team in question.
BB is good but I will always have wrong Benn ready when he brain farts
CHud, CHill and Frezze sounds like a good law firm in CHechya
BTW I've altered the photo on the nix page to include a few more current players.
ReplyDeleteExpolsive as in Dyno Mite LZ interview.
