Happy Holidays to all!! Not going to be negative, but unless the GM has a Christmas miracle planned, I say the Habs finish the year exactly where they are in the standings today, give or take a spot. The teams in front of them are good enough to play even with Montreal and the teams below them are bad enough that they are not a threat. Brian Wilde thinks the leaf can be caught as they are constantly out shot and rely too much on their goalie. Hey! Where have I heard that before? Plus, the SFU constantly over-hype their team and it's all just mediot smoke and mirrors. Maybe the last games of the year will mean something after all.
P. S., Mrs. TheM and I decided a couple of years ago to stop exchanging gifts at Christmas but she still manages to sneak one in. I beat her to the punch this year, a dozen red roses and a bottle of Flor de Cana rum are on deck...
Way to go hnit, 8 minutes leaf, 4 minutes oil, 1.33 minutes Habs, less for the turds. Great impartiality by the 4 biased dicks mclame, kypridiot, grudey and fatlip fried-man.
Soni finished wrapping early and see that the game is on early - who knew...then I see it's 3-0 oil so I won't bother... Go Habs Go!...Merry Christmas all my Fellow FHFers. Thanks for this place and God Bless us everyone! Have a safe and happy holiday!
I know I'm in the minority but at this stage of the game, I'd prefer the high draft pick over the lame 1st round playoff exit. Remember, last year Noo Joisey came out of the 9 hole where Montreal currently sits to win the lottery. It would be great if that happened for Montreal, if buttman keeps his greasy fingers out of the process. The caveat to all this is new management for Montreal to start the next 5 year rebuild. You don't want bergevin or any of the current regime, especially lefevre any where near the newest prospect.
I am a solid member of the tank crew. All you have to do is look around at teams with integrity and they are all like us, stuck in the middle. Both Boston and NJ have taken a middle ground and while their pipelines are full ours are EMty. We get joey velcro this year, a similar player next year and in two years if any of last years guys pan out we are contending.
If they ever decide to tank I think TFS would demand to be traded. Why the hell would he want to stick around for that? Hmm...lots of Country music in Nashville.
Happy Eve of Christmas to all. Another big W for my Pats today. Ready for the big day tomorrow, as usual I am in charge of the turkey and will be brining overnight.
All the best to all my fellow FHFers and your families regardless of what you celebrate this festive season.
Spengler Cup is on today at 2:00pm eastern and the World Juniors are on at 3:00 (Team Canada doesn't get prime time because the tournament is in the US of A.), as they say on SNL: "Let's do that hockey."
My oldest son is doing the big feast today so the PVR is all set. Go Canada Go!
Hope everyone enjoyed good times with friends and family. I have no gifts to pass on the the servants today 'cause they were all great. My daughter hosted her first Xmas dinner and did a fine job indeed.
R.I.P. Johnny Bower. One of the few leafs I ever kinda sorta liked, well, after he retired anyway. I met him once over 20 years ago at Harbour Station at an alumni game. Very pleasant gentleman.
As per my usual, I save everything until the last day. Shopping and groceries and wrapping and rum.
ReplyDeleteThe best of the Holiday Season to all FHFers.
ReplyDeletePlay and drive safe.
Safe travels.
Have FHFun!

Deletedefinite trade at the deadline, for a least a first, and two good prospects, Patches. Superplexxe a second, SSR, two seconds. LB a second.
