I read that this is game 3 of the Antii Revenge Tour - as he takes on the 3rd team to cut him lose this year! He's 1-1 so let's hope he puts an end to the FLA shutout season against the Habs. No Tanking Ever!
NSB about officiating over at the SFU websites. They care little about how unprofessional they sound every time they complain about one of their tranna teams being unjustly penalized.
I actually find myself supporting both sides on the "should TFS play" argument but leaning to "Play". On the one hand I know that TFS wants to play and probably feels fine. The doctors have said he is 100% fine too - so let him play. On the other hand he could get another concussion in a nothing game and be lost to the Habs for much longer - he could even be impaired later in life - so stop him from playing until next year...but here is where I suppose I lean back to TFS's camp. Carey Price is a highly tuned professional athlete - some say the best of the best - and he has a drive to play every game he can. He plays the toughest position in a high velocity contact sport and, to put it bluntly, shit happens sometimes. He could be shut down for the rest of the season - no issues - but then in the first game of the 2018/19 season, some skater sails in on a breakaway and drills him smack in the noggin, giving him a concussion that keeps him out until Christmas...or...he could miss the net altogether and the play continues, Habs ultimately win 3-0. It's what it is. He could never suffer another shot in the head again or he could get one tomorrow night. He could be walking to his car after tonight's game and be run over by a bus...you neer know (and for the record - I don't wish anything bad to ever happen to anyone - purely examples here folks!)
So if all the medical staff - who get paid to make decisions about the health of players, all agree that he is 100% and if Carey feels 100%, then I say let him play and see what happens. He's a goalie - that's what he does...
Let him play. Even if its 50% of the remaining games and who knows, the World Championships (something I'd watch cuz there's little playoff hockey of interest, except the Jets).
I'm on the fence. Thing is, he could be walking to his car and shit happens, but we all know TFS did choose to play injured in the past (Sochi and times when he was injured beginning of the game and chose to continue playing). You may not have a choice to walk to your car but you do have a choice not to put yourself in a situation where the risk is greater. Sometimes you have to save the players from themselves. It was a real fluke that he got a puck in the head at practice and then another during a game. Maybe 1 was ok, but the 2nd did it? Sine TFS is the only PLAN they seem to have and with the contract they gave him, maybe erring on the side of caution would be prudent.
On the other hand, I can totally understand why he wants to play too.
yes I will take either. FFS people, a top five has a 90% CHance of being an impact player, after that its mostly CHopped liver and luck. TANK YOU MF's. Tank like facebook stock.
Looking at Big Mac at 26, it was not a terrible pick, Shea Theadore, Dano and Hartman would have been better, but so far not much else left that we did not scoop up later including JDR and Leko.
Joey Velcro has dropped all the way to 27th on Craig's List. Timmins could use a couple of those second rounders to move up and get him. Adam Boqvist (Dahlin lite) is sitting at 6. Grab these two, another year of bottom feeding and they can restock the cupboards. Don't be taken in by any of bergy's bullshit, there is no quick fix for this train wreck. Gonna take some time peeps.
Bodquist is a smurf. No more smurfs, no more smurfs. we have a quota of five smurfs no more. Tankathon which is the only other hockey site I trust says Joey Velcro is 12.
27 is a huge outlier. http://www.eliteprospects.com/draftcenter.php?year=2018&layout=&ranking=Rank7&con=NA
I think it's safe to say that everybody in this room takes anything Bargain Bin says not with a grain, but rather a truckload of salt. See pic 1 in this thread, just throw on some hipster glasses and ya got MB.
Well well...another shuttie...glad I left after 1st. Anti looked very good. Apparently that was it...but Habs only got 28 shots - I have always said that unless they get a MINIMUM of 10 shots per period you win very few games. If someone did the maths I am certain this would ring true. At least the Habs won both fights...
Never had a FB account. My brother has been trying to get me to get an account for years but I've stood my ground. I said you only live a few km's from me, I'll just pick up the phone but thanks anyway.
And I'm the one who had my email hi-jacked because bell can't even protect its own damn data. They were hacked twice in the span of about 5 months. Oops, we're sorry.
I have a FB account but I don't tend to let people know what I have for breakfast I use it mainly to keep up with the family as they all don't live in the UK. I'm prety "meh" about the data thing as I know it is basically the way of the world. If I start searching for e new car online my feed gets inundated with ads for that car or variations thereof. Same with a job search. All my social feeds get ads from recruitment agencies on them now listing similar type roles. The thing here is...it's all noise and I just tune out - I don't ever click on links and I ignore the ads until I actually need to see them. When I started streaming the Habs years ago I gave into the man as any streaming service giving you something "for nothing" wants something back - it is what it is.
I dont have a FB account the Man chipped me a birth. I agree with K3X, you have no protection from the MAN. However Facebook makes it way to easy. I have been ranting about the evils of FB since 2013.
our goaltending has been trending better. We have lots of hope and faith. Looks like we have a lock on the 6th pick and an excellent chance of moving up a few spots. Buttman has fixed the draft so last overall no longer gets first pick.
It's fucking funny really, the audacity, arrogance, whatever, that molson and bergevin regard knowledgeable hockey fans as morons who know nothing. That TVA article with mb, "There is a plan to turn things around." I could have done something in October or at the trade deadline ... who does he think he's fooling? Look, I'm a nobody, but my eyes still tell me things and I know enough watching certain players who could or should make a difference. When mb let Markov and Radulov walk last summer and picked up guys like Hemsky, Streit and Schlemko as replacements, I said "oh fuck, this ain't gonna be good". Of course the media tries to make the best of it and build up the fans hope but this old dog knew better. I just knew we (they) were in trouble. I've proven to be correct.
I thought the "plan to turn things around" was hatched 6 years ago when Molson hired Bergevin (he is no longer worthy of a FHFnick). The goal was always to make the playoffs and ultimately win the Stanley Cup. That's not looking very good to me. 2 out of 3 years - no playoffs. Te slogan when he joined was "No Excuses"...now all we get is excuses "Carey was injured" "Subban was a disruptive influence", "if you want loyalty get a dog" and of course that old classic "trades are hard" - Fuck you you useless piece of shit. If it was easy I would be GM of the Canadiens. This year's presser is already written - "Injuries played a big part in the bad record" "Carey was injured and he had CFS" "Weber played on one foot" "Our top rookie broke his finger" "Drouin was learning a new position"...blah blah blah...Not once will we hear "You know what - all dem guys I got on the cheap - turns out they can't play for shit. And the one guy, the one guy I spent a tonne of - turns out he's pretty shit too...Slow as fuck but that was how I was so I didn't notice" Jesus H Christ! There are enough millstones hanging around Bergervin's neck to sink hi to the bottom of the Atlantic - how the hell does he get a free pass from Geoff Molson? I thought he knew a thing or two about hockey...
On the Bright side, Bright is better than watchable, and Annihilation is good to great. A shelf above the other Netflicks SF. Mute with Eric was watchable. but for Duncan Bowie a letdown.

OMG TFS is comming back. If he is lights out it sucks, if he sucks it sucks, its a lose lose proposition.
ReplyDeleteI read that this is game 3 of the Antii Revenge Tour - as he takes on the 3rd team to cut him lose this year! He's 1-1 so let's hope he puts an end to the FLA shutout season against the Habs. No Tanking Ever!

ReplyDelete"The people who worry don't know all the details, they don't know everything and they will never know everything,"
ReplyDeleteWell, one thing we do know - this organisation lies to us all.
Someone should start a campaign to buy #BERGEVINOUT billboards like senaturds fans did with Melnyk.
ReplyDeleteAnd they should all surround Molson's condo towers and the arena in Brossard. Maybe toss in the brewery for good measure.
ReplyDeleteShhhh, there there. You don't know. We know.
ReplyDeleteR.I.P. Mike MacDonald. Saw him live once and often on JFL, great comedian.

Shutout 12 times this season. But don't worry, Bergevin is a talent hound and a great evaluator of hockey knowledge in his players.
