I asked google voice during the Xmas holidays who the best goalie in the world was and it answered Henrik Lunqvist. Since I was visiting someone and it didn't belong to me I couldn't toss it.
With 19 of a possible 66 points on the road this season (9-21-3) the Canadiens are the worst road team in the league. On the road they average 2.24 goals per game while giving up 3.55.
The Canadiens have lost fifteen of their last seventeen games on the road (2-13-2) dating back to back-to-back wins they recorded Dec. 19th and 22ndin Calgary and Edmonton...so this doesn't bode well...
Danault is back in, with Lehkonen and Andrew Shaw - but don't SSR and Dano both have concussions? I am with Brian Wilde on this - no need for a player with a concussion to play for the habs again this season. No big games left. Save it for next sason
LB playing with Kid A and whatever thefuck we nicknamed Droiun (was it...UOFPOSWMAUCTPAP - useless overrated french piece of shit winger masquerading as an even more useless centreman to prove a point?)
So former Hab D Brian Engblom is s pretty good colour guy. He was another one of those guys the habs lost in a bad trade...How many pucks did we get for him anyway?
I guess the thing we all have to remember is this team is extremely young and inexperienced up front these days with TurtlepleXXXe toiling for the wretched leaf and Max out with a leg injury. Just think, kidG and Shaw are probably the veterans up front now. So, they are in a full rebuild now whether the dumpster diver would admit it or not.
Apparently the team read some mean tweets directed at them. I want to be clear, I don't hold the players responsible for this mess whatsoever. This is all on bergevin, he even said so once "it's on me", so whatever this new plan he has sold Geoff Molson on it must be a doozy. Can he really be fired anyway, now that the GM must be bilingual as well? The french media have painted Molson into a corner I'd say.
So far - they don't look that bad. Good hustle but shit passing.,...Lernout looks ok...but he is playing with Benn - which must be pretty fucking scary!
As far as Drouin goes, yes he is privileged due to his heritage compared to gCHuk who gets fucked over every chance jth and bbb get, I am not ready to write him off. That trade may have been made looking way, way down the road. They didn't want to pay CHe long term but were willing to take a chance on a young francophone player with upside and to stay in the good graces of rds and tva. If they had signed Markov and kept N8 I don't think hey would have been anywhere near as bad as they were. They had way too many pylons on D.
I agree but the longish term money handed to him by dgmb puts a pall on the kid. Hope he lives up to it and then some. Also, put him on the wing and leave him there.
And hey - I hope it all works out for him...I was kinda shitting on him short term because so far - he's a fucking useless centreman.Reminds me of thos show off kids I used play against as a kid...lots og stickwork, occasional goals then they whine like pussys when things dont go there way...
Absolutely, he was put in a position to fail by a GM who seems to live in his own little fantasy world. If they ever manage to get a true center, he should be OK.
Certain things about the Habs I don't understand...Auto is a big one...All he does is score. No one else scores...Another thing is Froese...He does fuck all...they have loads of guys who do fuck all...why him too?
Bacl to JDLR - second game in a row he has taken two penalties in the D zone. One I understand - the second was lazy. Habs have way too many lazy platers...JDLR could be good - but he is fucking lazy!
Sounds like the plan for Tampa is crash the net on the PP...Someone needs to take that prick Miller out. Knock him the fuck out! Just hammer him - take the 5 min. and move on...
BREAKING: The Montreal Canadiens have won a period of hockey - outscoring the league leading Tampa Bay Lightning 1-0. Crowds have gathered - more to follow...
Not over here we don't. Not until end of the month I think. So a couple weeks of early games - which normally I would be excited about...now - I'm kinda ...Meh...
I have noticed tonight that when Benn is on the ice alone in his zone its almost like the Lightning forwards look at each other and say "It's him - lets get him!"
Stick held after he made the pass...to no one...behind the net on his own - he panics! Like I said earlier - Tampoa sees him with the puck and shout "Get him" - knowing hes weak with the puck!
I've been watching the young Canadian golfer try to stay on top, but he's starting to crack. It's pretty much the Tiger show anyway. At one point thee camera just sat on Tiger waiting to tee off for about 2 minutes. Could have seen 4 or 5 golf shots in that span. Anyway go Corey!
So a funny thing...the Habs game ended then the channel I was watching switched to a game between the Caps and the Sharks...Anyone know if this is today? I am a bit too drunk to look it up...
Wow, K3X a one man show today. They got a point? Well, OK I guess, but Edmonton and Vancouver better pick up the pace and start getting some loser points as well.
I have noticed a trend with goalies these days...they all do this now too - they hug the posts when covering the angles but drop down so low that they all leave the top corner open. If I was a winger or in fact any NHL player - I'm practising hitting that top corner all the time. It's the money shot no goalie can stop
Canafian kid Corey Connors holding his own, still on top. Tiger 2 back and he Connors bogeys 16 and I hear chants of USA, USA. Americans. As classy as their prez.
van needs to win and we have a shot at fourth spot. However having played the lottery a couple of thousand times, it seems you move up from 10 to 6 better than in the top five.
Flipping channels and decided to check the score for the leaf and pens. Just in time to see a leaf push Dumoulin into Anderssen (sp) and the pens goal is disallowed and the pens get 2mins en plus. 4-0 leaf after 2.
So when do the Habs play next? Only 35 to go people! I watched a bit of Paralympic curling last night - this is the true test of curling - no sweeping so it's all down to the speed of the rock and curl on the ice itself. Pretty cool actually - like shuffleboard I guess.
35? I couldn't take it. More like 15 I think. Somebody posted yesterday that Habs fans like to talk about the past because the present is unbearable and the future is bleak. Meh.
It is what it is, I think it's true that apathy has set in for most long time fans. That's dangerous in the long run. I have not spent one cent that Geoff Molson would see a portion of, unless he's getting a cut from my Rogers cable bill. Speaking of which, my bundle runs out next month, time to start negotiating for a better deal. I'm ready to cut the cord.
And over here in the UK it is Mothering Sunday - or "Mother's Day" - so happy Mother's day to anyone with a mother in the UK. Also, I hope y'all turned your clocks forward last night - otherwise you are up a bit early!!
Thanks juce...but she lives in Oshawa so won't be celebrating. The wife's mother passed a few years ago so only my wife gets the spoils ...tea in bed and I made dinner.
I was watching some of the Penguins/leaf game last night and it occurred to me, if you look at Pitt's lineup, without Sid, Malkin and possibly phat phil, they are just a bunch of ordinary hockey players. That's what players of those caliber do, they elevate everybody else around them. That's what Montreal sorely lacks. They have some decent guys but they need that big gun to get to where they could be contenders. Superstar goalies and defencemen won't do that nowadays. Hey hey! A other afternoon game...just fucking score ...
ReplyDeleteI asked google voice during the Xmas holidays who the best goalie in the world was and it answered Henrik Lunqvist. Since I was visiting someone and it didn't belong to me I couldn't toss it.
ReplyDeleteScore? Let's just hope they don't get slaughtered...
ReplyDeleteIs Charlie getting another start this afternoon? He's played well but has let in a shit load of goals in the past couple of games...
ReplyDeleteWith 19 of a possible 66 points on the road this season (9-21-3) the Canadiens are the worst road team in the league. On the road they average 2.24 goals per game while giving up 3.55.
ReplyDeleteThe Canadiens have lost fifteen of their last seventeen games on the road (2-13-2) dating back to back-to-back wins they recorded Dec. 19th and 22ndin Calgary and Edmonton...so this doesn't bode well...
ReplyDeleteCanadiens on the road (9-21-3) Tampa at home (24-6-2)
ReplyDeleteCan anyone explain why Nikita Scherbak is a healthy scratch today? Too much talent ahead of him?...WTF??
ReplyDeleteCharles Hudon is back in the lineup...but that doesn't explain why Sherbak is out...does it?
ReplyDeleteI thought his hand was knackered...?> Guess not
DeleteDanault is back in, with Lehkonen and Andrew Shaw - but don't SSR and Dano both have concussions? I am with Brian Wilde on this - no need for a player with a concussion to play for the habs again this season. No big games left. Save it for next sason
ReplyDeleteLB playing with Kid A and whatever thefuck we nicknamed Droiun (was it...UOFPOSWMAUCTPAP - useless overrated french piece of shit winger masquerading as an even more useless centreman to prove a point?)
ReplyDeleteAntti is in goal - not Red Light Charlie
ReplyDeleteRatface fined for diving and said that a $2,000 fine is peanuts for someone with an $8-million salary.
ReplyDeleteWhile true, I hope that comment gets him many more this season.
So former Hab D Brian Engblom is s pretty good colour guy. He was another one of those guys the habs lost in a bad trade...How many pucks did we get for him anyway?
ReplyDeleteyep...I got the NHL.com feed which I believe to be from Tampa...certainly not HNIC
ReplyDeleteSo it's a Fox Sports broadcast...
ReplyDeleteGalchenyuk with DLR and Hudon. That could be fun
ReplyDeleteRDS comes back from commercial and the anthem was playing, they cut out.
ReplyDeleteThey always do that.
DeleteI guess the thing we all have to remember is this team is extremely young and inexperienced up front these days with TurtlepleXXXe toiling for the wretched leaf and Max out with a leg injury. Agreed.
DeleteCash it FFS!
ReplyDeletePP - Cash It!!
ReplyDeleteRDS here, tuned in after tremblay is off the screen. Good timing as I have a dinner to go to tonight.
ReplyDeleteLeko!
ReplyDeleteLeko!!
ReplyDeleteIs this McD's first TAM game?
ReplyDeleteAuto is the reason that goal went in. Why TF does he not play more? Every game he plays - he scores or does something good...
ReplyDeleteFinland is kinda close to Russia.
DeleteSo far - they don't look that bad. Good hustle but shit passing.,...Lernout looks ok...but he is playing with Benn - which must be pretty fucking scary!
ReplyDeleteYep, that shit passing has been going on all season, on every line and behind the blue line. Someone call Steve Shutt and today's Habs we heart.
DeleteAs far as Drouin goes, yes he is privileged due to his heritage compared to gCHuk who gets fucked over every chance jth and bbb get, I am not ready to write him off. That trade may have been made looking way, way down the road. DeleteBBB said it, Francophones will always get priority. Skill be damned.
DeleteAntii looks pretty good so far.
ReplyDeleteIn honour of 29, PING!
ReplyDelete1-1
ReplyDeleteAck...that was always going to happen though...
ReplyDeleteI thought this was J&B's last contract year before UFA. Nope;
ReplyDeletehttps://www.capfriendly.com/teams/canadiens
JDLR just doesnt fucking help himself!!
ReplyDeleteStill in it after 1 - but only 6 shots...
ReplyDeleteCertain things about the Habs I don't understand...Auto is a big one...All he does is score. No one else scores...Another thing is Froese...He does fuck all...they have loads of guys who do fuck all...why him too?
ReplyDeleteBacl to JDLR - second game in a row he has taken two penalties in the D zone. One I understand - the second was lazy. Habs have way too many lazy platers...JDLR could be good - but he is fucking lazy!

ReplyDeleteSorry...a bit harsh maybe?... I'm drinking so maybe I should ease up...
DeleteEx-NYR, learned from crydeir.
Delete2nd period...here we go...dont fuck this up
ReplyDeleteGCHyk!!
ReplyDeleteI hope the Hurricanes hire Julien BrisBois as their new GM just to fuck over Geoff Molson. He's got no escape route if that happens.
ReplyDeleteStevie Y. will probably get a centre in exchange.
DeleteHabs showing some decent hustle. KidA leading by example once again!
ReplyDeleteHabs win the period! HABS WIN THE PERIOD!
ReplyDeleteBREAKING: The Montreal Canadiens have won a period of hockey - outscoring the league leading Tampa Bay Lightning 1-0. Crowds have gathered - more to follow...
ReplyDeleteOverall I like the game I am seeing...its not often I get to see the AHL so WTF...It's a hockey game in England so I am happy.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to spring ahead before bed.
ReplyDeleteNot over here we don't. Not until end of the month I think. So a couple weeks of early games - which normally I would be excited about...now - I'm kinda ...Meh...
DeleteGCHuyk really hogged the puck on that 3 on 1 - he should have fed someone...instead he hit the crest square on!
ReplyDeleteFox just played a "Great Moment in Lightning History" - when they beat the habs in 6 games a few years ago...
ReplyDeleteSo 3rd period - here we go...
ReplyDeleteDroiun and LB look good together
ReplyDeletessshhh, Clod might here you.
DeleteO'd like to see them take this game.
ReplyDeleteDrouin (I'm going to call him JD as ir is shorter) Anyway - he stayed on the ice way too long there...
ReplyDeleteOh fuck...Hudon hurt going into the boards!
ReplyDeleteNot looking too good...Done for the game I think
ReplyDeleteScore one for Hudon boys!!
ReplyDeleteI thought Stamkos was a leaf?
ReplyDeleteI have noticed tonight that when Benn is on the ice alone in his zone its almost like the Lightning forwards look at each other and say "It's him - lets get him!"
ReplyDeleteAs I type that last one Benn steps up for KidA...I forgive ypou ! Nice one Benn!
ReplyDeleteMind you he's still mostly useless
DeleteAntii is playing a good game!
ReplyDeleteHudon back...No Dano
ReplyDeleteReilly (Radar) skates very well!
ReplyDeleteOK - Penalty! Cash it you bitches!
ReplyDeleteCant see it in the net
ReplyDeleteNo goal
ReplyDeleteGood puck movement
ReplyDeleteSlow to shoot
ReplyDeleteTampa crowd is pretty quiet
ReplyDeleteBest shot of the pp - by Tampa!
ReplyDeleteStill surprised to see Stamlos in a Lightning uni...I would have sworn he was with the leaf
ReplyDeleteStamkos...
DeleteWhy is Froese actually playing in the NHL? I mean come on!
ReplyDeleteHang on boys! (Ode to 29)
ReplyDeleteGo Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!
ReplyDeleteGo Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!
ReplyDeleteGo Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!
ReplyDeleteI like Radar!
ReplyDeleteGo Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!
ReplyDeleteHang on boys!!
ReplyDeleteFuck !!
ReplyDeleteFucking Benn fucking fucks it up again Fuck!
ReplyDeleteKinda had his stick held there.
DeleteStick held after he made the pass...to no one...behind the net on his own - he panics! Like I said earlier - Tampoa sees him with the puck and shout "Get him" - knowing hes weak with the puck!
DeleteReally fucking weak play by a supposed "veteran" player - fucking weakass!
ReplyDeleteCash it\!
ReplyDeleteRight in the crest...
ReplyDeleteI've been watching the young Canadian golfer try to stay on top, but he's starting to crack. It's pretty much the Tiger show anyway. At one point thee camera just sat on Tiger waiting to tee off for about 2 minutes. Could have seen 4 or 5 golf shots in that span. Anyway go Corey!
ReplyDeleteOh, andit looks like k3x is single handedly trying to get us some ice cream! Keep it up!

ReplyDeleteThat's me done guys - the rest of you can add post game and take us all to ice cream - Ive done my bit!!
ReplyDeleteGo Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!
ReplyDeleteGo Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!
ReplyDeleteSo a funny thing...the Habs game ended then the channel I was watching switched to a game between the Caps and the Sharks...Anyone know if this is today? I am a bit too drunk to look it up...
ReplyDeleteSharks are at home ...0-0 after 10 mins
ReplyDeleteOK - sounds like it is live. A decent game so far...Lego is playing...hasnt done much yet...then again neither has anyoine else
ReplyDeleteGrubauer is a good goalie
ReplyDeleteHe's no Anti Niemi but he's not bad
ReplyDeleteJones is a prety decent goalie too...
ReplyDeleteHe's no Charlie Lindgren but still...
DeleteWow, K3X a one man show today. They got a point? Well, OK I guess, but Edmonton and Vancouver better pick up the pace and start getting some loser points as well.
ReplyDeleteIts been fairly lonely - Moeman and your good self have dropped in from time to time but yeah...on my Todd as they say over here...
DeleteWatching the NBC California feed - they are really pulling for Ovie to get his 600th goal (he is at 598 apparently)
ReplyDeleteWell, it was fun while it lasted. Strange how they get up for games vs Tampa but others not so much but given the roster not surprised by the outcome.
ReplyDeleteNice job K3X.
ReplyDeleteI have noticed a trend with goalies these days...they all do this now too - they hug the posts when covering the angles but drop down so low that they all leave the top corner open. If I was a winger or in fact any NHL player - I'm practising hitting that top corner all the time. It's the money shot no goalie can stop
ReplyDeleteSomeone remind me who we got for Lego? Probably some 5th line D man with no wheels
ReplyDeleteTwo 2nd round picks. One for 2018 and one in 2019. Caps extended his contract.
DeleteOK then...have to wait and see who we end up with I suppose...
DeleteStill looks like he plays in the dirty zone too...
DeleteHe got 5 years, $17.5 million
DeleteWell, if BBB runs the show, I'm not optimistic.
Deletewow...didn't know that!
DeleteAh...but Timmons makes the picks...so I have some faith
DeleteThey made him draft LeBrow and he wanted to pick Cryder. Or so it goes.
DeleteThat's if bargainbin doesn't trade them all away for Brent Seabrook...
ReplyDeleteThey had 2 2nd round picks in 2016 but BBB gave them up for Andrew Shaw.
ReplyDeleteLike I said, Chicago will be getting a couple of those second rounders form their old crony bbb.
DeleteCanafian kid Corey Connors holding his own, still on top. Tiger 2 back and he Connors bogeys 16 and I hear chants of USA, USA. Americans. As classy as their prez.
ReplyDeleteCanadian.
DeleteI see the nucks and yotes play tomorrow. An OT game would be perfect.
ReplyDeletevan needs to win and we have a shot at fourth spot. However having played the lottery a couple of thousand times, it seems you move up from 10 to 6 better than in the top five.
Deletenice work K3X MAX and Radar great nic
ReplyDeletewe are clinging by surface tension to that fifth spot now, stop getting points, does anyone know how to play this game?
Flipping channels and decided to check the score for the leaf and pens. Just in time to see a leaf push Dumoulin into Anderssen (sp) and the pens goal is disallowed and the pens get 2mins en plus.
ReplyDelete4-0 leaf after 2.
The rules disallowing goals are being made up as they go along
DeleteSo when do the Habs play next? Only 35 to go people! I watched a bit of Paralympic curling last night - this is the true test of curling - no sweeping so it's all down to the speed of the rock and curl on the ice itself. Pretty cool actually - like shuffleboard I guess.
ReplyDelete35? I couldn't take it. More like 15 I think. Somebody posted yesterday that Habs fans like to talk about the past because the present is unbearable and the future is bleak. Meh.
DeleteIt is what it is, I think it's true that apathy has set in for most long time fans.
