They bloody well better put the tank on hold for tonight. It was a worthy tanking effort, but I agree with you K3X, never to the Leafs. GYFHG - and gCHuck still needs his 20th tonight. In fact, I'd also love to see a surprise return from our Captain, with a hattie to finish off with 20 himself.
very appropriate the Pouges cause Toronto is a dirty old town. I wanna tank. I want to go into the draft with 4th pick. Giving us a shot at anything from 6th to 1st. Then in the later rounds the high picks. Call me clinical. A 6 -5 loss would be perfect. \
Man, thoughts and prayers for those involved in the tragic bus crash in Saskatchewan. Brings back sad memories of the Bathurst High School basketball team 10 years ago. R.I.P.
A horrible tragedy indeed. My heart goes out to all the family and community members out there. I hope the Jets see fit wear a badge on their unis in their memory for their playoff run, and/or dedicate their playoff run and a portion of the proceeds to a fund to help out the community there.
Don't think I can remember a time when I was glad the season was finally coming to an end. I love hockey and I love the Habs...but I don't love these Habs. I loathe Marc Bergevin. He is pure evil and the fact that Geoff Molson has as much as said he is a good judge of talent proves that he (Molson) is clearly not and the the Habs are doomed as long as they are there. I still feel he will try to trade TFS and it is sad that Patches is done as a Hab as well...meanwhile shit like Alzheimers and schlemko and Benn will probably still be around to start next season .. so time will tell if I can regain a love for this outfit. They can start me back on the road to liking them again by ending the season by beating the the fucking leaf...hell even score a fucking goal and I will be happy. .
This is the second of three seasons missing the playoffs. But it was worse during the Houle era, when they missed the playoffs for three straight seasons after getting Hasek'ed by the Sabres in the second round of the '98 playoffs. It took Saku coming back from what at first seemed a death sentence to pull out of that funk. If Bergy (and especially his buddies in the coaching staff, pro-scouting and Laval coaching and development staff) are allowed to stick around, it will just be the same thing as when Ronald Corey and Houle were allowed to fuck everything up for too long. I doubt Geoff will see the light for another season, sadly.

Brendan Gallagher just reached out to clarify that every single member of the Montreal Canadiens is going to donate to the go-fund-me campaign for the Humboltd Broncos. A tremendous act of compassion and solidarity from @CanadiensMTL.
Since it is the season finale I will tune in but no guarantees of sticking around if they get embarrassed by the wretched leaf. Again. The mute button will no doubt be getting a work out as well. Like K3X said, as least score a fucking goal.
Still waiting for your team grades ... ;-) ... I expect a thorough recap of Marc Barbainbin's Monday press conference as well. Should be lots of bald face lies and lame excuses galore. I won't be listening but I know I can count on you.
If I'm Molson, I call Shanahan and say, tonight on the pre-game feed, we both give $1M to the Humboldt family fund and recommend all the 29 teams do the same. Call it Hometown Hockey Heals.
1) peral jam last kiss 2)Kinks - Well Respected Man 3) Elton John - Good Bye Yellow Brick Road 4)Poor Poor Pitful Me - Warren Zevon 5)Freefalling - Tom Petty 6)Everybody Hurts - Coors cover of REM 7)You Have to Hide Your love away - Eddie Vender cover 8) In the Ghetto - Elvis Presley 9)Rock and Roll Suicide - David Bowie 10)Teach Your Children - CSYN 11) Desolation Row - Chemical Brothers cover
To begin, all thoughts go to the families and friends of the Humboldt Broncos.
- despite what we might see or read, I believe all 31 NHL teams are equally affected by the tragedy, nothing a media org says or does changes that, nothing any specific individual does to pat themselves on the back as some kind of spokesperson 'for Canada' matters, not one fucking bit
- Sheldon Kennedy so deserves his Order of Canada, a great Canadian
- no matter what one sees reported, this is not about any one team caring more than any other, nothing but the Humboldt Broncos
- TOR, WPG, VAN, DAL reps say a word or two
- (I've been to every Province but only once drove through Saskatchewan, FWIW I dropped a 10 spot here; https://ca.gofundme.com/funds-for-humboldt-broncos ) almost $1.7M so far
- loved Colby Armstrong as a Hab, some heartfelt 'close to home' comments from him
- 'enemies tonight', eesh why say that mclame? FFS
- respectful comments from Julien
- respectful comments from Babcock
- coaches shake hands
- never did it myself but knew many 'billeting' families, as close to real family anywhere
- R.I.P. to all that (WE)re lost and as juce always reminds us, hug your kids or someone close by
I thought it was all very well done, very respectful. Unbelievable courage by Humboldt's mayor and the Broncos' president. Kudos the Jets and BlackHawks for their very nice gesture of standing in a circle with Broncos as their nameplates on their jerseys. Wheat Kings was a fitting tribute, leave it to Gord Downie to inspire us all as Canadians.
My feed kicked in halfway through Wheat Kings... such a fitting tribute song. It's all about perspective ...and this brings everything into very sharp focus...RIP
The CBC feed for the first time in recent memory is a golden stream. Am I the only one that is afraid of the old PAl HAL gm move made to make the playoffs?
How about that Fleetwood guy ... 5 birdies in a row put him into the running. Reed looked unbeatable today. We'll see what happens tomorrow, big pressure when you have the lead.
Good for him. He can be statesman like. There have been so many of these bus deaths in Jr hockey. I have not heard of a single US team getting wiped out on a bus. Maybe something to look at.
Yep, he held it together pretty good. Also, left the clown suits at home and dressed appropriately. Once again, Gord Downie helps us heal. God love all the new angels...
why cant we be like Vegas next year? We have lots of top better parts, better goalie. It all comes down to coaching and systems. IMHO our systems are Microsoft.
I am starting to think those waiting for a goal will have to wait until next year. This blows my fucking mind. Why cant this team score a fucking goal?

I know one thing based upon historal behavior. 29 is running in 2020. Run 29 run, I have never given money to a politician. But I would give to 29 because thats the kind of MP we need to rule us. Make no mistake we are ruled not governed.
what I am saying is that Plante was a prop plane and TFS is a jet. Its all about the technology. IMHO if many of the greats where playing today every game would be like watching the Harlem Globe Trotter play the Harlem Globe Trotters.

I buy a fucking Hwievwe and they stop advertising. I am the last Chinese spy in Canada. I move around. Yeah from the couch to the fridge, assimilate that.
I have long held the ski binding tech end of development model. Some things work so well there is no further need for development. The cell phone is one of those. If you want a better camera, buy a real fucking camera, it will blow away a cell phone. ETC ETC for all cell phone options. The marginal benefits from the Apple 5s to the Huwawi P10 are very small. But the price is double.
I just bought my top of the line Huwie. Now they are advertising something called the P20. So my P10 is only worth half. No wonder the Chinese ruled the earth for 6000 years by cutting everybody who was smart cock off.
So I called who wa we and they told me send in a picture of your cock.
Its been a terrible year, maybe if we adopt the seven years follow follwed by one year harvest we will win the cup. I just want to say its a privilege to comment on this blog. It is really in the words of Neil Young one of the pleasures of my life. All the loyal bloggers and those thinkingaboot running for political office are stars. Moeman has kept the heart of FHF fans running and St Pad has to be rookie of the year. I thank you both for your efforts I have some idea of how hard it is to blog over a long period. I thank 29 for his appearance and do not hold him in low regard if he does not ever appear again. Its a political decision. He might get away with the masturbation, but the impetus would be career killing in our Handmaidens tale that has no space for oven mitts.
We face a world that is hostile, and this is a place where we are all friends, thats something special.
Next year we may tank again but after that we will all be looking for the parade route. Thats my promise.
Everything I said was absolute true. What you should know is that aside from Zero Hedge I have been banned from commenting in this world.
Weber's broken foot. Price's injuries. We lost Hemsky for the season (remember him?) Schlemko injury. Trades are hard. Drouin first year as C. No mention of the fact that he's actually a winger and gChuk is actually a C. gChuk underperformed. Paciorettty injury. Rookies.
its like when you find out your drinking buddy is screwing your wife, time for a divorce. The problem is you love your wife and who is out thier better.
Did some research, and although the fewest points for the Habs was 65 points in 50-51, that was only a 70 game season; they actually placed third that year and went to the finals to lose the Cup to the Leafs. This year they had 71 points in 82 games, which is still not their lowest total in the 82 game era; they only had 70 points in 2000-2001. However that was before shootouts which may have given them an extra point or two. Anyway we look at it, not good. And not much in the way of hope either.
We will be so active at the wavier wire, it will not be wire, it will be fiber optics. Based upon what I have seen of Le Brow, Big Mac, Tin Tin and now Cookie, we need a skating coach at Laval other than Pee Wee Herman.
The Alzihmer signing is probably the most condemning evidence that Bergy is clueless.
I'm enjoying watching this battle between Patrick Reed and McIlroy at the Masters. Looking forward to my own golf season... if it ever warms up!
Before moe does his season analysis I will make this call: John Tavares will NOT be a Canadien this summer. He remains in New York with either the Isles or Rags. Drouin remains the No. 1 center, in fact, I will bet bargainbin does basically nothing with the forwards and instead concentrates on fucking around with the D yet again. They will draft Left D Quinn Hughes unless they are picking first. He may trade up to get Veleno or Wahlstrom, that's about the extent of what I see happening. bargainbin the Dollarama shopper supreme is going all in for one more season with Price and Weber. Another 28th finish next season will be his demise.
I'm a big fan of John Rahm and hope he can put some good holes together to challenge the leaders.
And a RIP to my aunt (via marriage) who passed away today unexpectedly. Thought she was pulling through an emergency operation she had on a hole in her esophagus but heart not strong enough.
Jon Rahm is OK but needs to work on controlling his temper. McIlroy ended up fading from the picture but Rickie and Spieth gave Reed a run for his money. Don't you find Reed is kind of unlikable? Shouldn't have declared how good he was a few years ago. That just turns people off.
Yep not a Reed fan. Can't put a finger on it, just doesn't have that je ne c'est quoi I guess. Was hoping for Ricky at the end, didn't figure he had a chance with the start he had.
I too agree a Bergman team will leapfrog into the top 3 dropping the Habs to 5th and probably out of the tkaCHuk zone(coulda called him Numb). Noah Dobson, big D from Bathurst is probably more in MB's wheelhouse anyway.
Autocorrect sucks on this device. Think I'll just go back to typos. Bettman team. And I think it will be the Isles to make up for the loss of Tavares to San Jose.
So the Habbies end up as the 4th worst team with less than a 10% chance of getting the number 1 pick...which doesn't matter because with bbb in charge, things don't look great. I have a question for you guys who live in/around Montreal - is the mood as bad as it appears to be for us looking at things from afar? I ask because presumably Molson has an office on Montreal and surely he must be able to read the mood of the city. There is not one person that I can find anywhere (apart from Geoff himself) who feels that bbb is the right man to fix he issues in Montreal. He has had 6 years and the team is worse than when he got here. His defence is weaker by far. He has traded for and signed bad contracts (least of which is his own and CJ's) with people. He has killed good players by placing them in roles they didn't need to be in (Max/Chucky) and he traded away a franchise player because he didn't like his swagger. It's a joke. The presser today will tell us nothing apart from the fact that he will probably re-assign some of the coaches to new roles within the organisation. None of the press who actually ask questions will call him out for fear of being black-listed and any "tough" questions will be met with excuses. If Molson actually attends the presser - no one will say "Hey Geoff - a few weeks ago you made a statement about Marc being a great judge of hockey talent. He stuck you with some pretty bad contracts, including his own, CJ's, Alzheimers, Schlemko's and some other guy who almost never plays - you sticking by those words?"
I work downtown - a few blocks from the Phone Booth - and I live in the Mile End area. The bars have all been suffering terribly with the extra tough winter, and especially with the lack of any sports team that is in any way fun to watch. The Impact are listless and have no superstars now without Drogba, the Habs we know; even Anthony Calvillo has now given up ever trying to do anything with this shiftless Alouettes organization.
The economy is doing okay and the new administration is a bit of fresh air, but there is still a massive amount of traffic snarls with the Turcot interchange undergoing major reconstruction, and the Champlain being replaced (among thousands of other upheavals in infrastructure repairs). And winter just won't let go.
I would say the mood is pretty blah, but thank God summer is coming, there will be a Grand Prix next month, BIXI season will resume next week, Jazzfest and the mountain.
But man, if only we could get a whiff of good news (like a plan to bring back Nos Amours - at least the new mayor is "All in" after a meeting with Edgar Bronfman last Friday), or a revamping of our Habs with new management.
I don't give a shot who wins, as long as it isn't the leaf. That is as far as I will go. Like the habs are so fond of saying..."in the playoff, anything can happen..."
- sign anyone to replace JJDingbat as D coach - keep Benn as a spare part (not so bad as a 5 or 6, light cap hit, last season on his contract) - Schlemko (two years to go at a nasty cap hit) - try to deal, otherwise, eat it and keep as a spare part - AlZZZner (four years to go at an obscene cap hit, and horrible in every way) - take a buy-out and suck it up as an awful mistake to learn from - Petry, Juulsen, Mete, Reilly, hang onto them - get a guy to play with BBQ
They can deal some wingers if they need to... Plenty more talented winger than necessary. Just sign a goddamn #1 Centre already!!
Re: the D, trade Benn and Schlem, they are slow footed and are out-dated. Karlzner play as a #6 or 7 with very limited minutes and zero PK time. You can't cut him loose this quick or future FA's will be hesitant to sign in PQ. This one bb has to eat for a while.
If they can trade a disgruntled Max for something, I would take a crack at JVR and Bozak. It would be an upgrade. As I said earlier, Drouin as the 1C is a hill bergevin will die on. No change there. Just load up at this years draft and hope for the best. Maybe bb can package up some 2nd round picks and one of those D to move up and get Veleno or Wahlstrom in the mid 1st round.
Great recap The M - I agree that bbb's flag in the ground has a pic of Drouin as his centre and Chucky on the wing...my worry with the draft is that he will fixate on the D and trade away someone like Chucky to get a D, completely forgetting that he really needs a Centreman. Patches won't get him much more than a 2nd and and ageing 3rd line forward past his prime on a bad contract...I am not hopeful...but I can't wait until the presser!!
So I hear that the presser is at 4 pm with Molson and bbb. Does anyone here think that there is a journo alive who will actually ask Molson to his face "Hey Geoff, given the results of this past season and given the dreadful contracts you are paying to journeymen 4th liners and given your GM's own words at the beginning of the season (our defence is better than last year) Given all this...do you still consider Marc Bergevin to be one of the foremost evaluators of talent available to you today?" - I betting my house and 3 of my 4 kids on no one asking that question...
Oh no no no no...when I say "fully formed" I mean that he is still a youth - barely 14 so lots to learn about life - still needs a firm guideing hand...pregnant...! Oh my goodness - no no - let's never go there...eesh...
OK - so more fuel for the presser...Players are coking out and stating that they were not ready for the season. Didn't play hard enough. That has to be on CJ. Someone ask bbb what he thinks about the comments coming out of the dressing room to the effect that the players were not ready to start the season. Too many times they repeated mistakes..."
Glad you will be doing a recap moe, I wouldn't spend my time listening to any of bb's lies and bullshit. I would take the time to read about it though... ;-)
If it is true what some of the players not being ready or focussed, that definitely is on coaching. Jabba the Hutt was another bad hire/panic move to appease the language zealots who control Molson's team. Time to try something else...

ReplyDeletescore gCHuck score
ReplyDeleteThere are 25 year old Montrealers who have never seen a Stanley Cup parade on St. Catherine street. I am 63 and never seen one either.
ReplyDeleteI am 59 and honestly do not expect to see one in my lifetime. Reason being the NHL is just a reality TV show.
DeleteAs long as marc bargainbin is around there is no Cup in our future. This is a badly constructed team, the plan is without form.
Deletefour players on the blue line and you have to penatrate, that NHL hockey, find me those guys
ReplyDeleteits like the CIA planning to take down the towers.
I just bought my top of the line Huwie. Now they are advertising something called the P20. So my P10 is only worth half. No wonder the Chinese ruled the earth for 6000 years by cutting everybody who was smart cock off.
ReplyDeleteSo I called who wa we and they told me send in a picture of your cock.
Ack
ReplyDeleteThe jackal sucks donkey balls.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the Tank is intact, Rommel for the win!!
Big snapshot on the Crest never work
ReplyDeletehugeson is a total fucking leaf homer.
ReplyDeleteIts been a terrible year, maybe if we adopt the seven years follow follwed by one year harvest
ReplyDeletewe will win the cup.
Dish!
ReplyDeletegCHuck 20!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDish okay did not get oo excited
DeleteWow...thank God that is over !
ReplyDeleteso it ends but with every closed door is one the swat team equipped with military grade Armour
ReplyDeletecan open.
In 2023 we will have a colony on Mars and the Habs will be in a cup discussion.
Appropriate end to a miserable fucking season. Thank you marc bergevin for your outstanding vision for how to build a hockey team in 2017-18.
ReplyDeleteMoeman, St. Pad, 29 - thank you guys for keeping this blog alive...
ReplyDeleteI deserve nothing this year. Moe and St Pad, however, deserve a fucking medal for what they did, slogging through this crap. A medal made of meth
DeleteWell there's a great fucking end to the season. Thanks Bergevin. Hope you had as much fun as us fans watching your shitshow. Ass.
ReplyDeleteafter 6 years of following Bergy I find I dress better and am working on better guns, he is better than a Fitbit for sure.
DeleteSo all that is left are the excuses that come on Monday
ReplyDelete..should be interesting...
Weber's broken foot.
DeletePrice's injuries.
We lost Hemsky for the season (remember him?)
Schlemko injury.
Trades are hard.
Drouin first year as C. No mention of the fact that he's actually a winger and gChuk is actually a C.
gChuk underperformed.
Paciorettty injury.
Rookies.
There's a start anyway.
...and out right bald faced lies. This guy's arrogance knows no bounds. Fuck him. Fuck Geoff Molson too for enabling this fucking asshat.
Deleteits like when you find out your drinking buddy is screwing your wife, time for a divorce. The problem is you love your wife and who is out thier better.
DeleteWait, the season's over?
ReplyDeleteYes steve, the Expanse! Can't wait
ReplyDeleteSo the next coach of the Habs should be Alain Vigneault. Would he go to Laval and wait his turn?
ReplyDeleteAndrew Berkshire is such a fucking dick.
He was always a dick as pfuckdaddy and hasn't changed at sportsnet
DeleteDid some research, and although the fewest points for the Habs was 65 points in 50-51, that was only a 70 game season; they actually placed third that year and went to the finals to lose the Cup to the Leafs. This year they had 71 points in 82 games, which is still not their lowest total in the 82 game era; they only had 70 points in 2000-2001. However that was before shootouts which may have given them an extra point or two. Anyway we look at it, not good. And not much in the way of hope either.
ReplyDeleteWe will be so active at the wavier wire, it will not be wire, it will be fiber optics.
ReplyDeleteBased upon what I have seen of Le Brow, Big Mac, Tin Tin and now Cookie, we need a skating coach at Laval other than Pee Wee Herman.
The Alzihmer signing is probably the most condemning evidence that Bergy is clueless.
I'm enjoying watching this battle between Patrick Reed and McIlroy at the Masters. Looking forward to my own golf season... if it ever warms up!
ReplyDeleteBefore moe does his season analysis I will make this call: John Tavares will NOT be a Canadien this summer.
Wrong Benn and Scleprock won't be back and, God willing, neither will Karlzner. But they are probably stuck with #22.
DeleteI'm a big fan of John Rahm and hope he can put some good holes together to challenge the leaders.
ReplyDeleteAnd a RIP to my aunt (via marriage) who passed away today unexpectedly. Thought she was pulling through an emergency operation she had on a hole in her esophagus but heart not strong enough.
So sorry for your loss Saint Pad.
DeleteSorry for your loss Saint Paddy.
DeleteJon Rahm is OK but needs to work on controlling his temper.
DeleteMy condolences Saint Paddy, it has been a tough weekend for too many.
DeleteI too agree a Bergman team will leapfrog into the top 3 dropping the Habs to 5th and probably out of the tkaCHuk zone(coulda called him Numb). Noah Dobson, big D from Bathurst is probably more in MB's wheelhouse anyway.
ReplyDeleteAutocorrect sucks on this device. Think I'll just go back to typos. Bettman team.
DeleteAnd I think it will be the Isles to make up for the loss of Tavares to San Jose.
ReplyDeleteI work downtown - a few blocks from the Phone Booth - and I live in the Mile End area.
DeleteThe economy is doing okay and the new administration is a bit of fresh air, but there is still a massive amount of traffic snarls with the Turcot interchange undergoing major reconstruction, and the Champlain being replaced (among thousands of other upheavals in infrastructure repairs).
Baseless Round One predictions:
ReplyDeletePens in seven
Broons in seven
Bolts in six
Caps in six
Jets in five
Ducks in six
Preds in five
Kings in six
I don't give a shot who wins, as long as it isn't the leaf. That is as far as I will go. Like the habs are so fond of saying..."in the playoff, anything can happen..."
ReplyDeleteI don't give a shit either...
DeleteWhat to do with Habs' D going forward:
ReplyDelete- sign anyone to replace JJDingbat as D coach
- keep Benn as a spare part (not so bad as a 5 or 6, light cap hit, last season on his contract)
- Schlemko (two years to go at a nasty cap hit) - try to deal, otherwise, eat it and keep as a spare part
- AlZZZner (four years to go at an obscene cap hit, and horrible in every way) - take a buy-out and suck it up as an awful mistake to learn from
- Petry, Juulsen, Mete, Reilly, hang onto them
- get a guy to play with BBQ
They can deal some wingers if they need to... Plenty more talented winger than necessary. Just sign a goddamn #1 Centre already!!
Re: the D, trade Benn and Schlem, they are slow footed and are out-dated. Karlzner play as a #6 or 7 with very limited minutes and zero PK time. You can't cut him loose this quick or future FA's will be hesitant to sign in PQ. This one bb has to eat for a while.
DeleteIf they can trade a disgruntled Max for something, I would take a crack at JVR and Bozak.
DeleteSo I hear that the presser is at 4 pm with Molson and bbb.
ReplyDeleteThat's a fantastic way to pose the question actually. And it should be asked.
DeleteDon't bother asking. His answer - "Yes. Next question."
DeleteOn a side note, after watching the final trailer for Solo, by gosh, Ron Howard might just have saved that movie! Looks good.
ReplyDeleteAlso, steve simmons is a piece of shit.
ReplyDeleteSimmons has always been a hack...nothing different it appears.
DeleteYep and one of the original SFU.
DeleteGreat comments FHFriends.
ReplyDeleteSympathies to you and your family St. Pad.
Did I see 29 make an appearance?
K3X, which one of your kids are you keeping?
I'll reserve judgement and my review of the shit season until after the presser, which I will recap.
My youngest is not fully formed so it would not be right to put him up in the wager...lol
DeleteMrs. K3X is pregnant?
DeleteOh no no no no...when I say "fully formed" I mean that he is still a youth - barely 14 so lots to learn about life - still needs a firm guideing hand...pregnant...! Oh my goodness - no no - let's never go there...eesh...
DeleteJust razzin' ya Pops.
DeleteOK - so more fuel for the presser...Players are coking out and stating that they were not ready for the season. Didn't play hard enough. That has to be on CJ. Someone ask bbb what he thinks about the comments coming out of the dressing room to the effect that the players were not ready to start the season. Too many times they repeated mistakes..."
ReplyDeleteHa...coking...I meant coming out and stating...but coking is probably right too...lol
DeleteGrant Fuhr should mind his own business!
DeleteMy own Baseless Round One predictions:
ReplyDeletePens in 6
Broons in 3
Bolts in 7
Caps in 7
Jets in 4
Ducks in 7
Preds in 6
LVG in 6
Glad you will be doing a recap moe, I wouldn't spend my time listening to any of bb's lies and bullshit. I would take the time to read about it though... ;-)
ReplyDeleteIf it is true what some of the players not being ready or focussed, that definitely is on coaching. Jabba the Hutt was another bad hire/panic move to appease the language zealots who control Molson's team. Time to try something else...
So...like Alain Vignault then...
DeleteThought I'd freshen up the place.
