Well here we are post allstar break and the Habs are in a dead heat with the broons and a point back of the cup favourites π. Everything here on out is gravy. Here's hoping the lads can keep piling up W's because it's way too late to lose for Hughes...the Sens are doing a fine job of doing that for the Avs.
Got the chili made for tomorrow, onto the wings this afternoon. Then the meatballs.
I expect the dumpster diver to acquire more picks and bad contracts on deadline day.
It is indeed to late to lose for Hughes (a 5-8, 160 lb center), I would be packaging up some of the extra picks and flotsam the Habs have to move up and grab 6-1, 192 lb LD Bowen Byram who is currently ranked somewhere between 6-11.
Hopefully Jewel recovers from his eye injury, he was going to be a solid #3 or 4 D for the Habs.
Sounds like this team should be well ahead. From the bits I've seen even though the Finn line is doing well the team as a whole lacks finish. No name goalies looking like a vezina candidate is far too commin a thread. Hope they can pull out the W...or worst case scenario loser point.
I just got caught up ... so true about the lack of finish on this team. I was thinking about that in the 3rd and I would sacrifice any of the forwards except KidG, Domini and Kid Koho.
Panarin would be excellent but LeBrun says he is Miami bound this summer along with Bob the goalie as Dale Tallon is clearing the decks for their arrival. Brayden Schenn might be available and another option.
u guys way too optimistic. this was a game for their taking. this loser point stinks as much as that shoulda been loss vs phoenix.
4 observations... a. this team lacks finish around the net yes, b. but they also lack the killer instinct to finish off an opponent when they have the chance (pp expires, druid skates to the danger zone in the slot, and circles away from the goal scorer instead of laying an easy bodycheck to knock him down...) c. last complaint is that this team plays down to their level of competition. d. way too much skating with the puck while on pp. plant your 5 in their spots and zip the puck around. (hint: puck moves faster by itself than with somebody skating it)
dear coach: lease fix a, b, c! (you are probably not smart enough to fix d)
Disappointing OT loss yesterday. Habs need to do better. PP still sucks. My part of Sotheast England avoided much of the snow but it has been -3 a lot this week.. .not complaining
Since I didn't see much of the game yesterday, tuned into tsn sportscentre. Stories in order df appearance: Jets Leafs Craig Button talking about great leaf team Oilers NFL MVP Commercial Canucks Habs
I hate the sfu so much. No level of hotness of their leaf loving anchors even helps.
I stream the games from over here...invariably I get the NHL.com feed so no commercials - just a screen that says "commercial break-in progress" and they used the msg feed last night - Ken Danykeyo and some other guy giving it from a NJ perspective ...I find it somewhat refreshing to hear the opposite side of these calls...tonight should be interesting...
I have a theory and its not quite as solid as global warming. The winner of the superbowl is the team that will make Vegas the most money. So in this case its not the Patriots, its the other guys.
Looking forward to the McDavid show. I love afternoon games. Afternoon delight for me.
Both weekend games are one the Habs should be winning. They fucked around too much yesterday and ended up with the OTL. Today they need to score early and often. JFW!
Fucking Gawley can't defend Lucic fast enough. Then there shouldn't have been a penalty, Draisaitl is just a lot bigger than Byron. Have I menntioned my dislike for the sfu? I don't care if he is from Greenfield Park, he's a fucking broon through and through.
Habs are ducking around again ..game should be at least 3-1. What has happened to the finish (and I don't mean leko or Armea) they had before the break. This is worrying...
This is a bubble team. Don't get caught up in the playoff hype. If you subtract Price and Weber this is a very, very young team, the majority of the players under 25. They have to learn to walk before they can run. If they don't make the playoffs this year I won't be upset.
Management: Please keep your high picks and good prospects. It's all good for now.
Hey speaking of dynasty, I missed the second half of Vikings season 5 and just catCHing up. No star power with Ragnor gone, but I am still lovin it. Lagatha looks like she has gone under the knife. More perfect than ever.
Excellent news. SN have found a retired leaf to feature during the intermission of the Habs-Oilers game. I was afraid we would have to go too long without talking about that team!
Wow I missed the excitment as well. An invisible goal by BBQ to start, Kid Ko on an invisible backhand and the Druid on a pond hockey play. All is well that ends well right?
And Kmax unlike Russian players, my Russian feed has never let me down http://onhockey.tv/
Stevo...that's the same one I use...it froze up like the great white north on me with 2.35 left to play in regulation - normally it's pretty decent - must have been the boom bingo ads ...
I would blame the same guys who took my Huwawie phone, five guys ten eyes.
The only problem I ever have is the video is a little jerky, but there are about 12 differant links to choose from. The other day one had the play on the top and then two panels on the bottom showing the goalies from a birdseye veiw.
Excellent column. Engels wrote a good piece too. Of course, Brian Wilde and Grant McCagg were touting KidKo earlier than anyone. I am just so impressed with his grace - on and off the ice. He might become a superstar. He might just be a solid #1 Centreman within a season or two. But that's the low end of the expectation.
Let's hope the putrid leaf soften up those Anaheim quackers tonight ... Montreal traditionally doesn't do well against any of the California teams ... too big and "heavy". The Habs should get the backup tomorrow as well, Gibson is playing tonight. I'll take any unfair advantage they can get.
Yowza! Raquel!! I'm in heaven...
ReplyDeleteYowza! Alyssa!! I'm in heaven...
ReplyDeleteHabs SBowl weekend is perfect game timing.
ReplyDeleteEat, drink, be merry and then catch a flic.
I've given St. Pad the floor (so to speak) and he's given me the OK to add a pic here and there. Heh heh.
GO RAMS!
Had plans for an even bigger and better post, but life gets in the way sometimes.
ReplyDeleteGee Moe, I even stayed away from the Pats AND included a pic of McFly. Heh, McVay autocorrected to McFly. I guess that makes Belichick Biff.
Go Habs! Go Habs! Go Pats!
All good bro.
DeleteHave fun with it.
GYFHG!
Feck! It's cold outside.
ReplyDeleteUm, Kate, it ain't bikini weather.
Deletecamel we can do better
ReplyDeleteHope k3x is safe and warm in the UK. Not used to the white stuff I imagine.

Now JFW.
Beef stew in the crock pot!
DeleteTaco night. Mexican rice with black beans on the side.

LB back baby!
ReplyDeleteA solid foot of the fluffy white stuff took care of my pre-game warm-up.
Let’s do this!!!
ReplyDeleteOut for Italian tonight, bought chili ingredients for tomorrow.
Any secret ingredients?
DeleteTomato soup.
DeleteOoh.
DeleteTFS with his lil' one. Sweet!
ReplyDeleteFucking timpeel!

Dish to Dano!
ReplyDeleteWhat a dominating period.

ReplyDeleteDid I miss anything in the last year?
ReplyDeleteThe announcer said they turned on the caution clock at the end of the third. So true!
ReplyDeleteMake a play for Panarin. I give Nature, he is just another CHud.
ReplyDeleteNiemi makes me nervous.
ReplyDeleteEx Halifax Moosehead with a couple of beauties and the dagger.
ReplyDeleteShould have won in regulation. Got a point. Move on.
I just got caught up ... so true about the lack of finish on this team. I was thinking about that in the 3rd and I would sacrifice any of the forwards except KidG, Domini and Kid Koho.

I expect another loser point tomorrow...
Take the point but should've had two.
ReplyDeleteStepped out to shovel some more and was lucky to see the KidKo interview on RDS. The kid is something special, smart and smooth.
u guys way too optimistic. this was a game for their taking. this loser point stinks as much as that shoulda been loss vs phoenix.

SuperBowl prediction;
ReplyDeleteRAMS 31 Pats 28
34-30. Winning team scores a td on last minute drive for the win.
DeleteOT win?
DeleteNope. And not predicting which team. Whomever has the ball in the last 2 minutes.
DeletePats 27 Rams 21. ...on another note...JFW!
ReplyDeleteGYFHG!
Both weekend games are one the Habs should be winning. They fucked around too much yesterday and ended up with the OTL. Today they need to score early and often. JFW!
ReplyDeleteNot going to comment through the game much but I will be watching.

ReplyDeleteSimilar game to yesterday.
ReplyDeleteLots of chances, no finish.
Whilst here, one of yesterday's culprits was fuckingtimpeel, who just stood there as NJ violated the rules.
Habs are ducking around again

Time for a nap.
Love seeing the new generation of young Habs fans at the Bell Centre.

ReplyDeleteHey speaking of dynasty, I missed the second half of Vikings season 5 and just catCHing up. No star power with Ragnor gone, but I am still lovin it. Lagatha looks like she has gone under the knife. More perfect than ever.
ReplyDeleteFinishing at the NHL level is obviously a very special talent that does not work most of the time.
ReplyDeleteExcellent news. SN have found a retired leaf to feature during the intermission of the Habs-Oilers game. I was afraid we would have to go too long without talking about that team!
ReplyDeleteThis one is over. Don't have it today. No PK. No puck control.
ReplyDeleteSure feels like it.
DeleteChicken wings cold air-dried, crispy and spicy Buffalo.
ReplyDeleteNachos with veggies and black olives.
Spicy sloppy joes.
-->14%<-- sour cream!
Apple crumble.
I'd be happy with a loser point, otherwise a wasted weekend.
ReplyDeleteLike most teams we remain two players from perfect. A finisher and a number 2 D man is all we need for glo9y
ReplyDeletegCHuck was the finisher and PK was the dman.
Steve would love my stream feed tonight - straight outta Russia
ReplyDeleteDid they lose?
ReplyDeleteTrying their best to.
DeleteKidKo!
ReplyDelete3-3
... from Domini and Sauce.
DeleteIn regards to the putrid PP, what's MAB up to these days?
ReplyDeleteOur Moey would prefer Sheldon.
DeleteYum.
DeleteBag the point, get another.
ReplyDeleteJust as I predicted another loser point.
ReplyDeleteWow! what OT action!
ReplyDeleteWow! Druid end to end!!!
ReplyDeletePerfect ending.
ReplyDeleteHope the SB goes down to the wire too.
I remember when opponent players had the class to come out for the three star selection.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the Turnover Machine for getting the winner.
ReplyDeleteJust refreshed the page and caught St. Pad's SBeard pic. Nicely grown.
ReplyDeleteI stand corrected. Dish and TFS save the McSaviour 2 on OH and Druid with the wheels and nice finish. 3 out of 4 points? I'll take it.
ReplyDelete2onNone and Dish+TFS save it.
DeleteDano on the face-off, back to Meat, controls the puck, Druid takes over and finishes it off with a speed and skill.
Beauty SB weekend game thread St. Pad.
ReplyDeleteI'll repeat myself, Yowza! Alyssa!! I'm in heaven...
Enjoy the SB FHFriends.
You have wonderful taste my friend. Big Alyssa fan as well. I would watch Charmed with my girls, purely for the story and incredible effects...
DeleteBloody Russian feed died just before OT...whadimiss?

Todd about KidKo;
ReplyDeletehttps://montrealgazette.com/sports/hockey/nhl/montreal-canadiens/jack-todd-jesperi-kotkaniemi-is-a-smart-kid-and-hes-learning-fast

DeleteEarly results for KidKo, which includes his shining personality, are FHFantastic. MINT!
DeleteCongrats Saint Paddy, your Pats are fucking unbelievable. Six Super Bowls, a record that will probably never be beaten.
ReplyDeleteI'm perfectly fine with the Pats win. We oldtimers in Montreal understand dynasties and the jealousy and hate that comes with it. Go Habs!
ReplyDeleteThis is true, advice I should take:
ReplyDeletehttps://t.co/IwG1LRkvOK
You'd think tsn would let people vote on Druid's sick OT goal.
ReplyDeleteAny news on LB?
ReplyDeleteHearing a forearm injury and not the shoulder.
DeleteHope SSR is back for Saturday.
