Hard to know what ol Bargy will do. I'd love to see him pluck Klefbom from the Oil but I'd wager that franchise is pretty gunshy about trading young players away. The Duck D has been rumoured. I'd bet you see him add a player like a veteran Dman like Andy Greene from NJ for a 2nd or 3rd round pick. He's 36 with one more year at $5m/year. Maybe that and some of that low end forward depth he likes to add at the deadline.
Be interesting to see how the small, speedy Habs fare against Paul Maurice's big, powerful Jets. It will come down to goaltending in my humble opinion.
Yes! I would go so far so say I would love it preceded by a Jets-Flames West final and a Habs-Leafs East final. All Canadian just to watch Bettman implode. And to watch the SFU commit mass suicide,..and the survivors jump on the Jets bandwagon.
Druid with some stellar hockey. Rushing back to the d zone to backcheck. Scored a laser. Good puck control. No turnovers. I think his confidence levels are high right now, allowing him to play like we all hoped he could.
You beat me to it. I was going to post a comment that I was going to give credit where it was due. Drouin is playing some great hockey lately, always a scoring threat and playing a 200' game. I saw that backcheck as well at the end of the period. Danault and kidG are making him a responsible player. Well done.
The small, speedy Habs are giving the Jets all they can handle but it's early yet. Think the Toronto media will notice? I doubt it, they are still looking up Matthews ass and watching their choker basketball team.
And now a second goal. Never forget the Saku wisdom: the season is long and must be paced if a player wants to still have some elbow grease come playoff time. Seems Druid is finding his pace this year.
ok FHFers... I am here tonight, on Kodi through my Amazon stick without Amazon Prime, where do i find a stream?
but if that don't work, I still got TSN690AM radio with awesome lack of COTU + the traditional HNIC brass band soundtrack (never understood how the fuck CBC let the TSN/RDS gang beat them out on that)
Method to the Bergevin madness perhaps? Once all the pieces are in place, things start making sense. Still wonder if Vodkov might've been sacrificed for naught, but then again, my lasting memory of him is of the play in the last game against the Rags in the playoffs where he was stumped in trying to corral a puck behind his goal line and it scooted straight out to a Ranger in front of TFS who potted it like a teenager popping a juicy whitehead. Method, madness, etc.
I work tomorrow dangit, and all our good RBC customers are swamping us (Webex support and we just moved their cheese, as it were). Luckily for me, most are Toronto-based Laffs fans and despite the pain, they are in like, a drug-induced haze of superiority that works like dopamine on them. Timing is, indeed, everything!
Hey, the long-bench period ended with a plus-one differential in our favour! Nice, except, this is the Jets, and they can destroy with a mere flick of a pinky. STAY STRONG ON THE BACK-CHECK BOYS!! Don't give an inch, as Red Fisher would say.
indeed. If the exception proves the rule here, I'll be surprised. I remain focused on the future. Today's unexpected mid-season success is all the gravy I could expect.
Kidko is now the first 18-year old Canadiens to break the record of another 18 year-old Canadiens within two days of that first record being set by the same player, in the 100+ year history of the franCHise. Not too shabby.
I want for nothing more than I want KidK to break the record for rookie scoring and render that POS tremblay to being the non entity he so richly deserves to be.
And that seals it. On a night with competing weather warnings, south-shore school closures, xenophobic provincial government wrangling, and splatteringly splashy shit-spray to make you opine that, all in all, you'd rather be in Winnipeg, the mighty Jets got shot down by good old CH hockey, Kid A style (yeah, Lip was first star). Well played les boys and GYFHG!
I like the Jets, an honorable organization - the anti-leaf. The Habs out played them plain and simple.
I want Montreal to play the same exact game against the wretched, putrid, despicable leaf this Saturday. I want awful snet/hnit gang of leafools to eat shit all night long.
You know Weber and Price will have the gang ready for that one and Domi will be playing in front of new Habs fan Tie... can't fucking wait.
Maybe not on the scoreboard, but Army with another great checking performance. So maybe MB goes from wood chipper fodder at the end of last season to potential gm of the year candidate with the moves he made over the summer. Habs gave Simon Bourque (who?) for Armia, Steve Mason (and his contract), 2019 7th and 2020 4th.
Statement made, now put the boots to the leaf. Shaggy meet BBQ.
Druid comes alive parody of Frampton would be appropriate.
Well, woke up this morning with a wine glass in my hand Whose wine? What wine? Where the hell did I dine? Must have been a dream I don't believe where I've been Come on, let's do it again Do you, you, feel like I do? How'd ya feel? Do you, you, feel like I do
Dale Weise and D-man Christian Folin (+5 avg. 15 min. on a non-playoff team) in return for Schlem and Froese. Engels sez DW desperately wanted to return to the CH. Nice! --SiM
RIP Andre.
ReplyDeleteJFW svp.!
I will be in Berlin for a couple days so gonna miss the fuckin leaf game Saturday as well...GYFHG!
Safe travels!

GHG. JFW. STFU SFU.
ReplyDeleteR.I.P. Frank Robinson
ReplyDeleteThis is a good test tonight, they need to beat some of the better teams. GYFHG!
ReplyDeleteYep. Lets hope its a good one.
DeleteChicken parm!
ReplyDeleteDon't know what to eat tonight, hmmm.
DeleteLook in the freezer!
DeleteThere’s bacon! Maybe grilled cheese and bacon. Yum, comfort food.
DeleteA stellar fave. A bit o' mayo?
DeleteHave to drop a couple of pounds after Christmas and then vacation indulgences. I’m just going to have a chef’s salad.
DeleteGood choice.
DeleteBe interesting to see how the small, speedy Habs fare against Paul Maurice's big, powerful Jets. It will come down to goaltending in my humble opinion.
ReplyDeleteJets PP is good.
DeleteWhy would a GM 'fear being hated' if he dropped an offer sheet? Who the fuck cares?
ReplyDeleteGood read in anticipation of the new album;

Ack.
ReplyDeleteBrutal line change.
I think that was Meat. Left J&B out to dry.

ReplyDeleteThe DDG line.

Josh Gorges is out, so... I must be missin' somethin' cuz this is way up over my height-challenged head.

I've had a long standing wish for a Habs v. Jets SC Final.
ReplyDeleteYes!
DeleteI would go so far so say I would love it preceded by a Jets-Flames West final and a Habs-Leafs East final. All Canadian just to watch Bettman implode. And to watch the SFU commit mass suicide,..and the survivors jump on the Jets bandwagon.
two words: Heh, and HEH!
DeleteWhat action! (against on of the best teams)
ReplyDeleteMe happy so far....
DeleteIn betwixt the action, I am reading this;
ReplyDeletehttps://medium.com/@jeffreypbezos/no-thank-you-mr-pecker-146e3922310f
Solid.
ReplyDeleteKeep that speed up and could wear down a bigger team.
That was some good hockey.
DeleteDruid with some stellar hockey. Rushing back to the d zone to backcheck. Scored a laser. Good puck control. No turnovers. I think his confidence levels are high right now, allowing him to play like we all hoped he could.

Wow, what a goal by Drouin!!

Reddit NHL streams?
DeleteYeah!
ReplyDeleteDruid! Laying down the ancient Celtic spells! shots 21-12 for Habs too
ReplyDeleteBah. Missed the goal looking for snack. And found no good snack.
ReplyDeleteLook in the freezer!
DeleteActually found some choc chip cookies there. Having one now!
DeleteRead that Druid has more points than PFK and Serge, combined.
ReplyDeleteMethod to the Bergevin madness perhaps? Once all the pieces are in place, things start making sense. DeleteI'm currently enjoying sipping on a winter warmer ... Jim Beam Old Batch bourbon on the rocks.
ReplyDeleteSmirnoff and ...something orangey
ReplyDeleteWas gifted some Lime Smirnoff at Xmas, saving it for warmer temps.
DeleteOh wait, going to +6º tonight.

WOW!! WHAT A SAVE!!
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to see Meat celebrate a goal.
ReplyDeleteWe're on the same train.
DeleteGonna be a dandy!
DeleteI blame vegans... -_-
DeleteMeat is sizzling tonight. He'll get his goal soon enough.
ReplyDeleteTatar 2 minutes for standing still.
ReplyDeleteRef watson. Same pinhead that ripped CHarger?
DeleteThat was a true FHFranCHise turning point. Those seem to be piling up in the Buttman era
Delete-_- -_- !
I need a refresher on that one. Or maybe I don't want to remember.
Delete2015;

ReplyDeleteLet TFS see the puck.
Deleteyes. always
DeleteGood PK. Good period. Good goaltending.
ReplyDeleteBut a #22 PK and #31 PP won't take you far in the playoffs. Those need to be fixed in the next month.
True but usually fewer penalties called in the playoffs.
DeleteUnless you're the Habs.
Deleteindeed. If the exception proves the rule here, I'll be surprised. I remain focused on the future. Today's unexpected mid-season success is all the gravy I could expect.
Deletemoeman, I agree. Seems more cliché than truth.
DeleteAs long as they win the 5 on 5 matchups I don't give a flying fadoo ... as the Bobcat sez...
Deletedgmb still has $9M+ of cap space to pad (see what I did there?) the picks, prospects or playoff potential.
DeletetheM., as you know the Habs are one of the best 5on5 teams this season. Not a juggernaut though.
DeleteSo what we seem to be in agreement on is JFW.
Deleteadding a player at the trade deadline would almost be an insult to what they have achieved this season. Almost.
DeleteTrue but the extra player available couldn't hurt.
DeleteSo if TFS doesn't get 'suspended' for bailing on the ASG, that one loss (not Niemi's fault) in the homestand might not have happened.
ReplyDeleteBBQ!
ReplyDeleteBbq!,,,
ReplyDeleteAnother 3 pt game for Druid.
ReplyDeleteCoaches have assembled a crazy good line.
DeleteHard not to. Wowzer talent coming together here. 40-27 shots in CH favour btw
DeleteBBQ! Not an All-Star, eh Buttman? Fuckin fuck, fuck!
ReplyDeleteSame could be said of KidA.
DeleteI love Captain Shea! Do not miss PFK or Max at all.
ReplyDeleteYou know it Kate.
DeleteTook a while to miss PFK, Patches a bit less.
100% - I think PatCHes was a minus more than PFK though, mostly because he is Brett Kavanaugh on skates, a bit better seasoned.
DeleteOff-topic; 4 Eps into Netflix’s ‘Russian Doll’, very good. Love Natasha Lyonne.
ReplyDeleteGood series. She's a great actor.
DeleteYep and she wrote/directed it too. I love weird/quirky stuff and it delivers.
Deleteyeah, self-typecast as NY jewish perhaps, but she rocks it.
DeleteYeah but she ups the Jewishness to some hilarious heights.
DeleteDano!
ReplyDeleteD a n o ! ! !
ReplyDeleteWhat a play by kidA.
ReplyDelete4 pts for Dano.
As he takes a huge hit!
DeleteDeleted my own comment.
ReplyDeleteDano!
Dano might just be the Habs' version of Patrice Bergeron.
ReplyDeletePotential is there, for sure. Thinking PatCHes was a real hindrance. Seems like there was a real lifting of a cloud the moment he was sent away.
DeleteWow. This may very well be the best game this team has played. And without Lb.
ReplyDelete... and SSR.
DeleteMint!
ReplyDeleteKidKo!!!!
ReplyDeleteHabs are on fire tonight. Expected more from the Jets.
ReplyDeleteKidko is now the first 18-year old Canadiens to break the record of another 18 year-old Canadiens within two days of that first record being set by the same player, in the 100+ year history of the franCHise. Not too shabby.

DeleteHard to imagine otherwise

DeleteTFS' stats just keep on improving.
ReplyDeleteSFU was shitting soooo hard on him.
Speaking of shit, the can eat it!
CHaracter win. I think Saturday night will be really interesting.
DeleteRegulation win against the leaf would put the Habs 2nd in Atlantic.
ReplyDeleteAssuming they hang on for the win here of course.
Its what we all want.
DeleteRegardless, considering the way they are playing, stay healthy, make the playoffs, see what happens.
50 SOGs.
ReplyDeleteWow.
Sign of a team playing with purpose and dedication. This Jets team is no small potatoes
DeleteJets have/had been playing really well too.
DeleteWhat a great game and so much FHFun commenting with everyone.
ReplyDeleteBe well FHFriends.
Hell of a game.
ReplyDeleteLove to see a repeat performance 2 nights hence.
Yep.
DeleteHabs class shining through.

I want Domini to impress Dad by feeding the Jackal a five finger sandwich.

FHFriends, Hockey Fans, countrymen, lend me your ears; I come to bury Caesar (Bergevin), not to praise him...
Deletewill he gloat or goat? Interesting sidenote, leaf fans call Freddie Gauthier The Goat.
DeleteWoooohooo
ReplyDelete..I hope the Russian streaming service works well in Germany! Great win boys!
Statement made, now put the boots to the leaf. Shaggy meet BBQ.
