  1. Best time I ever had was spending a week in New Orleans.

    Food, bourbon, music, people, party.

  2. Agree - New Orleans brings back plenty of amazing memories. Street musicians playing jazz on the sidewalk in 100 degree heat, go-cups full of Jack and Coke and loads of bizarre beads around my neck...

    Go Habs Go.

They better go ... or they better hope the BJ's utterly collapse.

  5. I have curling right after work. Round 1 of the playoffs - single elimination.
Anyway, we are heading right after work to watch some of the NS v ON game. The NS skip was our bartender for a couple of seasons. Soooo, somebody lamented how because of our Tuesday curling league, we always miss Pancake Tuesday. Another teammate said but Tuesdays are for Tacos. So I suggested combining the two by making a thin pancake, putting fruit and whipped cream and folding it taco style. I go home for lunch and so that is just what I did and it was fantastic. With a side of bacon of course. If making yourself a pantaco, I suggest making sure the pan is really hot, then get once side crispy (but not burnt so be careful) and then the other side just enough to ensure it's cooked. This gives you the ability to do a good taco fold. My 2nd one was much better than the first because of this. #peachpantaco (first one pictured).

Just let him lay on the California beach for 4 days and pick him up on the way out of town.

Sitting out KoHo for a game or two, good idea. I'm sure Jabba wanted to get 4WD (good nick!) into a game and they weren't going to sit N8v2.0 against his former team.

  9. Aron Ward gave a really good answer. KidKo anylicts suck. His defence game needs work. Plus he has hit a physical wall, no need to heavy team him.

I only spent about 6 hours of Bourbon St. No one gave me any beads even though at some point I was topless. I thought it was brillant and cant understand why every city does not have a version of bourbon st. Also agree the food, especially gumbo is devine.

Wow, K3X was up late or up early over in Jolly Old.

Congrats to Carey Price on tying Jacques Plante record for wins with Montreal. He won't achieve the same legendary status as Plante, but when all is said and done he should be up there with the likes of Saint Patrick (but not Ken Dryden) if he can win a Cup or two.

  16. Good win. Beating teams you should beat is mucho-important this time of year. A point vs SJ would be gravy.

I actually watched some of the B's/Canes game last night because the Canes were wearing the classic green Whalers sweaters in beantown. Pretty sharp I must say. Too bad the broons let them get a point though.

    3. I think the Toronto Star is the only voice of reason in Canada. Every other major newspaper is doing fellatio on their favorite Senator, and I am not talking about the Ottawa ones. My whole life since becoming aware or woke as they say now is questioning why the Toronto media ignores the Montreal Canadians. They will give scores for every team in the league except Montreal. Once in a while the Globe will have a game report, the Star never ever ever. And as for the National Repuplican Post Media.

What Woke me was Count Iggy being picked as the new leader. Conservative authoritarians are one thing, but a thinking authoritarian, I am fully erect now.

  23. Congrats to TFS. We really are lucky, strike that, its great that the mgmt team drafted and developed him. I am not saying he would not have been a star in any NHL city, I am saying to be the goaltender of the Montreal Canadians and be successful is stellar.

AWD I like it, but I have not seen Quattro performance in the corners. So far he is looking like this years Dutch Gretzky. I also liked the obvious Wheelie. Grew up on funny cars, they made me laugh.

  26. I see a night after Carey tied JP for all-time wins in a Canadiens sweater, MAF tied his overall record at 437. Plante was before my time so I looked him up. While I knew he didn't finish his career in MTL, I didn't realize how many more years he played and how many other teams, including the wretched leaf and finished off with the broons.

The number of players to stay with one team for an entire career must be pretty low. It seems like it was more common back in the day, but when I think about the likes of Lafleur, Robinson, Roy, Gretzky, etc. it's true that anybody can be traded or let go. Kind of sad - there are a lot of players that just seem like they should only ever play for one team. That goes for all teams in the NHL and most sports leagues.

And for tonight JFW or at least JFGTLP.

  43. So the bigger question going towards the final dozen or so games is, is Niemi done? Bring up Lindgren? McNiven? (Primeau if available?)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. the Maritimer12:14 PM

Niemi is probably done, but unless Price gets injured I don't think the Habs will bring up an AHLer at this point. Primeau, while intriguing, will finish his university career at Northeastern. So, the improbable playoff run will rest on Carey's broad shoulders. There is only one more btb so he will have to tough it out. Listening to Mike Boone last night on BobCat's show, he said even if the Habs were to lose every game from here on out (which they won't) this season will still be considered successful, based on the results of last season. I'm not getting my hopes up. Columbus is in trouble but they can still turn it around. Never count out Sid and Company. The Hurricanes are the wild card, can they keep it up? They have nothing to lose bu neither do the Habs really. That's the race, between those two.

Even if the Habs falter, they still have a shot at winning the draft lottery or at least moving up ... we could have some serious fun with the name Kappo Kakko... (!)

    at Caps
    vs Leaf

That's a rough final week of the season. I'll need to maintain a steady influx of sun and alcohol to block out any thoughts of hockey. (In reality I'll probably be trying to find a feed to catch at least some of the games).

    3. I am afraid BBQ is going to be our number one for a number two number of years. We cant spend another 10 mil on a D man. Lets hope Jewel can recover, Cale Fluery looks good, can we call him Snowy? I got a feeling BBB has zerod in on a foul for D. In two years we will have a Tsar to go with TaTaaaar. Tsar to Tataaaaar, scores. Meat is still only a single slice sandwich, just wait until he grows another slice. Next year we have Dano, Kidko and Pooh Bear as our top 3, and a 4th line fleet of specialists for every occasion.
