Just beat the poop emojis tonight. More AHL callups, hope Ryan isn't still Poehling in comparison to what we saw in his first game. Seems like he's sorting it out in Laval. Be nice to see him on a line with Suzuki.
KidKoho confirmed on IR with a concussion, but the TSN690 crew noted it didn't keep him away from ThompsonTwins' Xmas party last weekend, so not deemed too severe a concussion by them.
I still don't get Peca getting slammed to the ice and injured and everyone's jim-dandy with it because it was Malkin. Geoff, time to rake back that cash to the "less fortunate" teams if you ask me. Fucking Buttman league.
Guy Lapointe by text just now conveys his thanks to all sending their best wishes as he prepares to battle oral cancer: “Your support and encouragement mean a lot to me. I will fight this head on.”
Primo (alt nick: CPv2?) Gets the start. EAP skates in too. Anderson's definitely not in nets tonight. Just gotta put a hurt on Pageau-Tkachuck or whatnot. GYFHG! --SiM
Been in and out of the game. Not surprised to see the turds tied it up. Saw lots of tentative play by Les boys. One shift I saw BBQ, Tuna & Dano all fail to clear the zone with weak clearing attempts. As I type see the replay of the tying goal, another weak play by Otto in his end. Be lucky I they get a point I imagine, shame the kid kept them in early on.
CPv2 gets his first NHL win, and first star. When was the last time any backup goalie got any three-star selection on this team? I'm eIn? Nice to see Domimi with two helpers too. 3-game winning streak. GYFHG
Flames and Isles conspired to keep the CH in a tenuous playoff spot last night, but it'll be tooth and nail all the way to April. LB to return for Saturday, sooner than I expected. It was good seeing him out and about, with Lip, Folin and C3P0 doing the rounds at the Montreal Childrens' Hospital (carefully skating around mentioning the PK Subban atrium, as always), but sporting the Saint-Flanelle nonetheless. --SiM
Great 1st win for CPv2. and it looks like the Habs have their mojo back so let's hop it stays over the holidays. It's been pretty manic over here in the UK so apologies for the radio silence. Looks like we'll finally get Brexit done too, so that should prove "interesting". Happy Friday the 13th everyone!
I am kinda gobsmacked Boris won but it looks like the other guy was worse. As George Carlin said, for things that are not important we have a thousand choices, for things that are important, no choice.
Looking at tonight's lineup and I see Leko on second line with Domini and GI Finn. Cousins and Barber and Weal are pluggers. Two of them are saddling our rookie Centre, Nature. EAP recalled again too. We need Druud back, but will he still have good hands after healing from wrist surgery? Not this year, I'd say.
We also are one of six hungry teams in the Atlantic chasing three available playoff spots, and a long road trip pending. Kadillak and CHariot of Eggs are playing well enough to negate previous worries about shoring up the D. Our GM Bergie had Aho targeted pre-season to be in the mix, and his job probably depends on his team being one of those three in the playoffs. So if Hall is coming here today, I will not be shocked. --SiM

DeleteGotta beat the Dead Things Saturday night. Long, long road trip coming up. Could be make or break for the Habs season.
ReplyDeleteI still think they are too small as a group to truly compete and they aren't going to get any bigger when Caufield shows up. Oh well...

Nick for Hall Boy as in Boys in the Hall
DeleteCHill called up and C3P0 sent back to Laval? Je ne comprends pas.
ReplyDeleteMaybe just so C3P0 can play this afternoon for the Rocket, get some game time in before the road trip.
DeleteCHill just suffered a 3-0 loss in nets last night, stopping 17 of 20 shots, so he is only backing up today for TFS.
