  1. What nick do you give a guy named Vejdemo? Vejjie? Refrain from making the first 'e' and 'a'.
Actually it's like when you're at the grocery store and they have the taste stations set up, often some interesting, different things. But then there's that one guy trying to pedal baby carrots or salad - the "Vejdemo". Nobody likes him.

  3. Hey Kate! 4 of 8 before Christmas. 3 of 6 after Christmas. .500 hockey

    - good enough to stay close to the race, but only good enough to end up picking 15th overall again barring significant change.

  4. 11PM AST game tonight in the Maritimes. Might catch a half a period before ZZZZZZ time. Or not, we'll see.

I may regularly lose faith since the only consistent thing with this teams seems to be their inconsistency, but GYMFHG...J.F.W!

    1. I think there is a case to be made that Herb Tarlak has turned into and I been searching for a great salesman name. His biggest mistake was holding on to his friends, Empty and the fucker in Laval. He has corrected that, five fucking years later, that alone should be a death sentence. However he has made great move Alzner aside. The farm team is now growing turnips. I say five more years until we cut off his head and appoint St Patrick

Bergevin keeps saying he won't mortgage the future to make the playoffs. I get it but, I wonder what Carey Price and Shea Weber think of that strategy? If the Habs are to make the playoffs, they are on their own. I won't be watching any of these games, too late for me and I'm not going to bother recording them. Best of luck!

    1. What I get from BBB's statement is that he has spent 8+ years building a team that is still not good enough to bother trying to improve through the trade market because he doesn't think (and he's right) that the team is a cup contending team. At what point does Molson decide that it's time to go another route? Probably not until he puts his own ego aside and hires himself a Prez - Bobby Smith or Vinny Damphousse? And that will probably never happen, so we just keep on sailing through the sea of mediocrity.

It seems that bergevin decided Taylor Hall wasn't a good enough player to help his team to a playoff appearance. I'll guarantee that he talked to Devils GM Ray Shero to see what the asking price was. Sure, I wouldn't give up his A prospects but neither did John Chayka. bergevin could have given the equivalent of what Arizona did easily, including a lottery protected 1st round pick in 2020 or his 2 second rounders. I think it was a mistake to not take that step. What's that saying: Nothing ventured nothing gained. I call bullshit on bergy.

  6. If I may compare my Fantasy Football team to the Habs. I've mortgaged my future to take a run at back to back championships this year. Traded away picks 1,2,3 & 6 next year to go for it all this year. And I'm in the finals. So I say in-season trades CAN be made to improve a team NOW with a chance to WIN. Nothing is guaranteed, but like Lloyd Christmas says "You're telling me I've got a chance!" Now my opponent has a monster team, just crushed the league points record this week, I've potentially lost my #1 point getter to injury (D Cook), but I'm there in the final.

It'll be like the '86 Habs taking on the '77 Habs. But I have a chance. So for Bergy to say there's no point in trying to improve because we're not good enough doesn't sit well with me. There's always a chance if you've got the balls to go big.

  9. Hey good win. Just caught the 1st period, saw the 'nucks score on the PP due to a phantom penalty call on Tuna. Brutal.

Couldn't help but notice this headline by leaf splooger Chris Johnson Maple Leafs finally dazzle with jaw-dropping skill in win over Sabres

Can it get worse than this? Sadly the answer is yes.

    1. Knuckles had retired ref Fraser on his TSN690 afternoon show today. Even Fraser couldn't understand the call. The league needs to relocate the War Room to someplace completely indifferent, like Baton Rouge, or Yellowknife, or fuck, I dunno, Cape Town, FFS! Let retired cricket legends interpret the rules. They're bound to understand them better, and we can all have a cup 'o tea in the intermission. Bob's your uncle, I say. Ain't gonna play Sun City either.

  12. Holy,...! Lucic is on the Flames roster I see. Which Hab will be the victim of some brutal, blindside hit from that goon tonight (which the refs and the league will of course turn a blind eye to)?

30 years since Lanny MacDonald and his moustache beat Saint Patrick's Canadiens for that franchise's one and only Cup.

Hence the November-stache curse? Even TFS alluded to that as the reason his game sucks with facial hair.

Total respect for LM and the power of the 'stache!

  22. Damn, went to bed after the Flames' third goal, feeling pessimistic. Happy to find out Nature tipped-in the tying goal, and bonus: Domini channeled (pick one: Morenz, the Rocket, the Flower, Saku, the Magician) with his end-to-end OT heroics

  23. OK, way to gut out a win. But a big thank you to David Rittich for the 2 points. He was in a giving Christmassy kind of mood I guess. I have regular hockey chats with a fella at work who is a big Flames fan and every time they play I always tell him I hope his team gets the loser point in an OT game. He always says 'same to you'. He won't be happy with this one.

Hey FHFriends! Mrs. Maritimer had a surprise birthday dinner last night at a great authentic East Indian restaurant, Thandi's, with family and friends as the ol' Maritimer turned the big six-five. I feel blessed to have made it to this milestone and intend to keep active and as healthy as possible.

I recorded the game and the pre-game show and watched them this morning. Imagine my surprise when mclame and his gang of leafools actually opened with the Habs/Oil game and discussed it at length relegating the putrid leaf and the Dead Things to 2nd place status. It was a Christmas Miracle!!

The boys played a decent game, I was hoping to get at least the loser point. If they can manage a .500 record it will be a successful road trip, including the trip to Fla. Onward to the 'Peg.

Keep moving is what they say. Sorry the boys couldn't get you that point, but the team let TFS down last night with bad penalties and 2 on 1 goals. Makes me miss Hal Gill when he would stretch out from the crease to the faceoff circle forcing the shot.

Good luck! I am going to finish 3rd in my league. Incredible, as I finished dead last in the regular season, then knocked off the No. 1 guy and fell in the semi-final game. I had Mark Andrews as well but my RBs were all shit this year.

  33. Now I dont want to ruin any surprise but somenumber has a optomistic Christmas message you are going to see. For me its a black christmas, busted ribs and painkiller that make me want to kill the pain. I did two days of that and now I am clean again. Still the blackness is can still say that , is a black-hole sucking me into a dark future based upon my status as a certified history major. That the world had embraced Greta gives me no comfort because I have always been uncomfortable with the things
that surrounded my like a blanket and I could never breath like Eldon Musk, who has a puffer that prevents the reality distortion field from stunting his growth.

So I wish all the FHF friends a very happy Christmas, festivities or cheering for the First Joel. Jews and Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs, I am a friend of them all and so are you, thats the only thing I know about humanity thatch true. And nothing like seeing N8 playing exactly like the D-man that makes us appreciate having the likes of Reilly and Folin as 7-8. Merry Xmas FHFers!
