Leaf superstar goalie Jack Campbell not on USA Olympic team roster. But, but, how can that be? The SFU must be flummoxed... I wonder if the SFU 'experts' are still beating the Zach Hyman drum for Team Canada since he ingloriously chose to sign with the Oilers. Hah! Who am I kidding, they forgot about him as soon as he bolted out of town. The NHL ain't going to China anyway, who in their right mind would?

Broons now have six players and one staffer in COVID-19 protocol. Not sure if they should come here to play this Saturday. Legault says things are critical in Québec and he's given a presser tonight at 6 ET. 2,700+ new cases today here. Hold tight everyone.

On the hockey side, Gorton is likely why CP30 was called up today and announced as tonight's starter against the only team he saw his dad play for. Cool. First time we've seen the Philthies since tgey eliminated us in 2020 playoffs and busted Lep's jaw. I am betting the boys will be up for this one. It might also be the last game before fans in the phone booth for some time. GYFHG

Slowly but surely Flash is exerting his plan, I'm glad to see Northlander sent home to get some quality playing time which was never going to happen under ducharme. I'm also glad to see Primeau get some 'Prime' time against his dad's old team. Classy move Jeff. Next, send CC to Laval to regain his scoring touch, no need for him to he involved in this dumpster fire.

    1. I think CC is here to stay. Too many holes in the lineup.

Good for Prime to get some action.

Norlinder said as much, that he wanted to go home and play, a lot. Sounds like he and Flash had a CHat.

I'm watching Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings tonight, got the blu-ray a few days ago. Maybe I'll catCH the 3rd period. Youngest son and a few friends are going to the new Spider-Man movie tonight. He moved out the 1st of Dec., got his own place with a high school buddy, he's enjoying being on his own, but I miss him. I know, I'll get over it.

  30. They just made it official: the game against the Bruins Saturday is being postponed. Take care, all. Mrs. SiM reports they cleared out all patients in her ward and canceled all elective surgeries. She walked in this morning to find out one of her patients is their first confirmed with Omicron (not ICU, at least). No word yet on when she or her colleagues might get their boosters either, and they are all over 6 months past their last jabs. The PPE is about to be hoarded I expect.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Lets play some REM. Based upon the level of discomfort the NHL players have faced, I think this is the endgame for covid. The Olympics are done, but lets start the playoff right after. We go into the lottery in 3rd I believe.

The standings show Montreal at 31st with both Ottawa and Arizona holding games in hand. The Habs have an excellent chance of dropping to 32nd and getting the best odds to pick 1st overall. Doesn't mean they will but after this season from hell the hockey gods owe them that much.

Covid is digging its heels in again. Restrictions in every province. NHL teams shutting down to New Year. NFL games being pushed back. This shit ain't over by a long shot. Mrs. The M and I got our boosters back in November because we were over 60 and our first shot was the AZ. Even so, I'm being cautious, I wear a mask everywhere and we don't travel at all.

    1. Wow, St. Pad... Only over 60...thats poor. I do moan about the UK killing itself but the only thing they have done right in this entire 2 year debacle has been the vaccine. Me, Mrs And my two girls are all dobke vaxxed and boosted. My youngest is just 18 and oldest whonis 25 have both done the double and waiting on hitting 3 months vaxxed to get boosted. I think we boosted almost 1m people today alone... So they are making up for letting it run amoke by preventing it from killing us at least. Credit where due I guess...

    2. Thx. One of the side effects is fatigue, so guess who fell asleep during the third quarter.

    3. Wow 1 million today!

NS just hit population of 1 million this week. there are a lot of health and pharmacy staff actually in Covid protocol, leading to the delay but I'm pretty confident it will be early in the new year that we see the booster numbers rising pretty quickly. Or so I hope anyway.

Strong possibility the all Canadian division may return. I wouldn't be surprised to see the border closed again to non-essential travel. Forget the Olympics, shouldn't be going there anyway.

My Giants lose again, they finally benched the useless Mike Glennon, I liked what little I saw of the new kid. I would keep him over the equally useless Daniel Jones.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I am waiting for Dr Bombay to weigh in. From what I have seen is we all will get the Omicorn. the vax does not prevent in anyway infection. However, maybe because of the vax or maybe because Omicron is as weak a Optimus prime was as a goalie, we are not going to die or get really sick no matter what is correct.

Very interesting and probably a common thing in some states. I've come to the conclusion that America is on the verge of collapse, or civil war, or something bad. They are no different than Russia or China or any other corrupt country in the world. For decades America has tried to impose their political 'system' on other countries from Viet Nam to Afghanistan. Who would want that mess? They are literally committing mass suicide and proving Charles Darwin correct. Nature is taking it's course, across the world actually, and the Earth has decided enough is enough and will protect itself.

  53. No Olympics this year for NHLers. This is for the best. And finally our mega-injured and sickened Habs get a break too.

Army was the first Hab to get COVID-19 and he is looking like a guy who might be quietly suffering from long COVID. I know it did a number on my cardiovascular system and I still get winded or fatigued and crampy with occasional relapse days 20 months later.

    I call them Covid Flashbacks.

  55. Mrs. SiM has two patients today and little going on (only emergency surgeries and freeing up space for a hot zone if other parts of the hosp get overwhelmed). So some folks' already way long-awaited surgeries are being pushed back again, indefinitely, their conditions no doubt worsening (or stable at best).

At least they have her scheduled for a booster this afternoon. She is working three straight 12-hr days after tomorrow so it'll be me and my daughter eating too much chocolate and playing Scrabble. But fingers crossed, no positives in my network so far. Lots of hermits here.

Stay safe all, and if you're ill, may you be able to take it easy and get all better soon.
