Saint Paddy1:22 PM Wow! Sorry he didn't work out, he can score goals for sure and was one of the better contracts. But I've notice he isn't a big fan of the physical stuff (except then I noticed him actually hit a few guys on Saturday...).
Scott in Montreal1:18 PM Tyler Pitlick, Emil Heineman, a 1st and a 5th. The Flames were sweet on us for Valentines Day. Wow.
Thanks Toffee/Tyder! It was fun having you here.
Scott in Montreal1:21 PM Finger Pitlickin' Good?
Saint Paddy1:33 PM Pitlickin' cousins!
Scott in Montreal1:22 PM Double-takes a Pitlicking, keeps on Pitkicking
The two Tylers in this trade were each 2nd round picks in 2010, which interestingly was the Taylor/Tyler draft. Habs took TinTin in first round. Other than kidA in the 5th they selected no other NHL player...well one guy that played 3 games. But over the years, the club has tried to get some of those draftees like Christian Thomas, Jon Merrill and Jordan Weal to work out. Finally had one in Toffee but the HuGo Bosses are Pitlicking that away and we're in for a longer rebuild than I thought we would have. I really thought Toffee would be retained with that contract and those hands. So I guess anything (over 25) goes.
Somebody noted that Toffee was a little slow of foot. HuGo wants speed AND skill. I'm OK with a 2-3 year rebuild but it can't be an Oilers/Sabres tire fire that goes on forever. It also probably means Price will be moved at some point of his own volition.
Agree I had Toffee as one of my keepers. I'm thinking TFS will be moved but only when the price is right. This will not be a quick thing. We are in for a bottom up rebuild. Go Habs
Kent was in Boston for a day or two, probably doing husbandly duties with Lois.
Actually, I would guess he was at the Beanpot Tournament checking out his boys and Jordan Harris no doubt. Hopefully Jordan will be in Montreal in March once Northeastern is out of the NCAA playoffs. He will be getting a spot once Chariot of Fire, Dish and Kadillak are gone.
Here is the deal. TFS traded to Edmonton, pull a LTR until the playoffs, we get a first and Whiskey Center. Next year they put him on waivers and we claim him back.
I was a little upset they traded Toffee, I thought he was one they would keep. But, with the way things are, if some one makes you an offer you can't refuse...
Lots of offers on the table for Ben, it will be interesting.
Interesting how open Clark is with things saying flat out if there is an offer for Petry they will trade him. Very refreshing having this open communication rather than cloak and dagger. Wasn't long ago the team would hide the fact that a player got a splinter in his pinky finger.
Canadian women just rock. From hockey to skiing to snowboard. That O'Dine fox saying in an interview that ya she had a regular broken back and a concussion so she couldn't snowboard for a while. Has an Italian land on her after a jump and just gets up and wins bronze. Respect. Makes me proud. Go Canada Go Habs

ReplyDeleteQuite the haul for Toffee.
Thanks for being a Hab.

Rem, Rhett and now Tyler.
ReplyDeleteReminds me: I had an amazing compilation EP of Canadian hardcore bands (including SNFU) from about '86 titled: "It Came From the Pit."
ThrashPit trio if all three form a line at some point.
Wow, I thought they would keep him, I'm truly sorry to see him go. It is a great return even if the 1st rounder will be a late one.
ReplyDeleteI would say a rebuild is underway, look for KidG to end up in LaLa Land.
Seems like the first of several big changes, doesn't it? Toffee has two years remaining. Nobody's safe if they're over 26.
DeleteThank you Toffee (and Cat)! Canucks fans must be groaning to see you back in their division.
ReplyDeletePretty much anybody over 25, except Powerhorse, is out the door.
ReplyDeleteEven though he's out with an injury, I expect Chiarot to be following close behind. Maybe even to Alberta?
ReplyDeleteJust checked the ol' rumour mill and apparently St Loo might be the destination.
DeleteI'd expect 1st and a prospect for Eggs as well.

Considering Cat is né a Bélanger, I'm probably related to her.
ReplyDeleteIts like losing a family member. 😉
Has anyone spotted a man with long gray hair and large biceps scrounging around a dumpster outside the Bell Center?
ReplyDeleteBergy wanted him in LA
DeleteKent's been MIA since the Toffee trade. Off doing Superman duties no doubt.

ReplyDeleteSo turns out Toffee was besties with Pretzel?! Well then GTFO and good riddance! I jest of course...somewhat.

TFS and LEP will not be traded. HUGO is looking at a run 3 years from now. Its a safer bet than fiat currency.

ReplyDeleteDish has shown something this year, I think it must cultivate microorganisms until the final judgement comes down.
DeleteCongratulations to the Women's Hockey Team for another hatd-fought Olympic Gold. That is truly a winning attitude.
