Hey FHFriends! Been a busy day, Mrs. theM's birthday so we went went for brunch and have been out and about. I wanted to say I watched the 3rd period of the Kingston/Oshawa game last night and tried to keep a close eye on Shane Wright. I have to say he didn't really stand out to me but it was a very small sample size. I don't really care who the Habs pick 1st this year, all I know is they need skill, and lots of it if they want to be a contending team.
Doing some reading today and it seems Carey Price's future playing hockey may be in doubt. It could be the beginning of a brand new era in Montreal. There is definitely going to be tons of off season speculating and internet fodder to keep us occupied.
I'm hoping they can beat the rags tonight. Need at least one win before season's end.
Many happy returns of the day to Mrs. the M. There is indeed great hand-wringing and consternation regarding TFS accompanying the team just to see his specialist doc concerning his knee. Marc Denis was particularly unhopeful on TSN690 yesterday and I can't say I blame him. Fingers crossed all the same
Jose Theodore has noticed some red flags as well regarding Price. I believe during one of Price's media events he said he would not 'be a burden' if he couldn't perform up to his standards. That sounds rather ominous to me now, and his numbers from the four games he played are bad. Maybe that had something to do with the weakened team in front of him but we shall see.
Hey. Yep Habs can win a game and still finish dead last. might as well do it tonight. I'm still on the Slafovsky train but would be fine with Cooley or Wright or....so long as whomever it is, the new management team manage them properly.
Habs finish last with one game to play. Dish with two beauty goals is bittersweet as I doubt he's back next season. Not gonna speculate on if we'll see TFS again. My head says one thing, the heart wants something else. This new comment box doesn't scroll very well does it.!
I'm with ya on Philthy. Won't surprise me in the least. I'd be OK with San Jose winning it so they can move up 10 spots to #2. Habs the 2nd balls to stay at 1. In the end, as said before it really is about proper management of whomever is picked .
I will be very surprised if whomever is picked this year plays in Montreal in the upcoming season. HuGo seem determined to not repeat biceps bergy's mistakes. They have, or will be, installing all the necessary personnel to develop these new guys properly. Wright stays in Kingston, Cooley stays in the USTNDP, Nemec or Jiricek stay in Europe, Slaf stays in Sweden or he is eligible to go to Laval being European. The new blood next year should be: Heineman (Beer?), Guhle (Ghoul/Zombie?), Northlander, and maybe one UFA. I think next year's plan revolves around Price's health.
Had the game on in the background. Some decent goals but vs. a very weak NYR team.
The 'best player available' should be the pick, if the 1st isn't somehow bettman'd to one of his faves, I think, with limited knowledge on my part, that Cooley looks like a good one.
Yotes shouldn't be allowed a pick (or relegated to 32nd) as they are almost 100% funded by teams like the Habs.
Might have to cheer for Dallas. By losing in OT to Yotes, they simultaneously clinched last place for the Habs and eliminates the Kuhniggets. They don't have a hope in hell so get the underdog tag too. Go Stars!
Unlike our past top 3 decisions, this time it seems there is not a bad one. If I am picking I lean towards the Gooly. He can skate and play hockey. Shane Wright seems like more of a old school jack of all trades, a Jonny T.
There is quite a battle between Habs prospect (and former Sea Dog) Josh Roy and current Sea Dog William Dufour for the QMJHL scoring title. Roy is leading by 2 points 115-113, while Riley Kidney is at 100 pts and leading the league in assists with 70. I doubt either one makes the NHL next season and since both will be only 19 years old they will be back in junior and that's OK.
Check out Logan Cooley's 'Michigan' goal from the U18's yesterday, this guy has skill out the yingyang and the Habs need lots of that to get better. He will be a great consolation prize if Wright ends up a Dog or phucktard.
Might as well try to win tonight. The tank is all but complete. GYFHG
ReplyDelete2 games left and then bettman can fuck around with his weighted balls.
DeleteTanned, weighted balls?
DeleteLooks like the updated comment box/line are here for good.

Bonne Fête Mme theM.

DeleteI am not high on Shane, I like the big winger, I think we draft at 3 and in 5 years all could have gone first.
If the Habs pick #3 it will be Cooley or one of the two defencemen. I'm hoping for the #2 pick.
ReplyDeleteHoly crap! Gerard Gallant is resting everybody, the Habs have a chance!
ReplyDeleteNo Kreider, Panarin or Fox

Sure hope PH pots one to reach 20.
ReplyDeleteJohnny Brodzinski. Now if that's not a New York name, I don't know what is.
ReplyDeleteEAP.
ReplyDeleteEAP!
ReplyDeleteIt appears the Rags can do any goddamned thing they want and it won't be called.
ReplyDeleteNice goal by EAP with a dispense from the Pez.
ReplyDeletePez is a keeper.
Probably earning his keep more than half our millionaire forwards.
DeleteI'm sure this is what you call low event hockey. Either that or MSL found chokula's playbook. Good grief.
ReplyDelete7 sog in the first 38 min. Monty's keeping them in it.
ReplyDeleteRem Pitlick is really good at getting into scoring position and I hope Whiskey can learn from him.
ReplyDeleteDish!
ReplyDeleteSeeing eye shot by Dish.
ReplyDeleteHoff got over his cough!
ReplyDeleteI really prefer this player to My Coughman.
DeleteI still scoff at Hoff. Hope HuGo can magically disappear him this off season.
ReplyDeleteYeah, been uninspiring all season.
DeleteYep there's Scoffman.
ReplyDeleteHow many shorties have they given up this season? Jeez
ReplyDelete12
DeleteDish! Pickin' the corners tonight.
ReplyDeleteNice way to end the longest losing streak ever. GYFHG!
ReplyDeleteFinally, Habs Win! Habs Win!
ReplyDeleteYotes win cements Habs at the very bottom of the standings.

ReplyDeleteAgree on all points.
DeleteHabs get the best odds for 1st overall. I still think the phucktards get #1 because, buttman, comcast.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to see the cheating Golden Pissers eliminated, looks good on them. Next up, get rid of the hated, wretched, putrid leaf asap.
