Steve is correct, there are supposedly no franchise type players in this draft. Wright is a solid pick but if the Habs miss out on him, there are other good centers available and two really good D plus Slaf the power forward. I think it would be preferable to be a lottery team again next season with supposedly about 5 franchise-type players. And, after next season Huberdeau may be available as a UFA. I can be patient.
I have a gut feeling that the good ship 'KidG' will be setting sail this summer for western climes. It will be sad to see him go but probably for the best.
Kid A would be useful on a line that can cycle. We have very few wheels for that, The first Joel, maybe powerhourse but no center and no D that fit the mold. 6 mill for the next 5 years, Dish the same. If we cant trade them at the draft or over the summer, I am afraid it is waiver time. If that does not work pump and dump for the next trade deadline. Then its buyouts.
Hockey is a tough biz, those where both terrible contracts given for past excellence with a huge gamble of future performance. We gotta tank next year at least and better still next two years. TFS has 4 years left, as the little beaver said " its not the years its the mileage" Lets keep TFS in the garage for the next two years and drive him like M does his Mustang.
Hey all, late joining in, the tank is still humming along smoothly. RHP may be the next Lep. I'll be tuning in tomorrow night to see the Rocket demolish the junior leaf.
What a sad day. I still can't believe how the last regime wouldn't let him wearvthe CH at his last charity apoearancd in 2020. Rest in Peace, Flower. The #10 is at half-mast today.

ReplyDeleteI can't believe the phuctards actually want to win this game. Don't they want to get closer to the bottom?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Gary has already assured them of the first pick. Habs sadly will be drafting in the dreaded 3rd spot again. Maybe 4th.
DeleteSadly, I agree with you, I think 4th is in the cards. Gary will make sure his American teams get the top end talent.
DeletePhilthy = Wright
Fleabags = Slaf
Krappen = Nemec
Habs = ? probably the other D Jiricek
Looks like the Habs will go 0-fer the rest of the season. I can't even remember the last time they won.
