leaf can't get no satisfaction
leaf can't get no satisfaction
'cause they try, and they try, and they try, and they try
leafools can't get no, leafools can't get no
When I'm drivin' in my car
When a fuckin' o'dog come on the radio
Mediot's telling me more and more
About some useleaf information
Supposed to fuck my imagination
He can't get no, oh, no, no, no, hey, hey, hey
That's why I say
leafools can't get no satisfaction
leafools can't get no girly action
'Cause they cry, and they cry, and they cry, cry, cry, cry
leafools can't get no, leafools can't get no
When I'm watchin' my TV
And mclame comes on and tells me
How blue&white my shirts could be
But, he can't be a man 'cause he doesn't smoke
The same funny cigarettes as me
He can't get no, oh, no, no, no, hey, hey, hey
That's what I say !
Nachos can't get no satisfaction
Nachos can't get no girl reaction
'Cause he'll try, and he'll try, and he'll try, and he'll try
He can't get no, He can't get no
When I'm flyin' 'round the web world
And I'm tweetin' this and I'm bloggin' that
And I'm tryin' to make post some sexy girls, oh
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby,
baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby,
baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby,
baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby,
baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby,
baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby !
better come back maybe next week
Can't you see leaf on a loser streak?
SFU can't get no, oh, no, no, no, hey, hey, hey
That's what I say !
They can't get no, oh they can't get no
They can't get no satisfaction, no satisfaction
No satisfaction, no satisfaction
They can't get no !
Fuck off !

So, I'm in Vegas at an Apple sales conf. 94-95ish. Five days. Had way too much fun (broke even). There's a contest of 3 sales reps plus 1 tech rep as teams. All kinds of events and contests and shit. Secret prize. Our (my) team won (pretty much because of me, the tech rep). Big reveal, the winners got to go see 'the old' Vegas get blown up, dynamited. Watch the credits in the movie 'Casino'. They bused us there to watch it live. It's kinda like watchin' da leaf.
ReplyDeleteNice seguay to the Leaf - not the ending I expected. Speaking of unexpected endings, the Panthers hot Vasilevskied just like the Habs in the last SCF. Now they will use that series to compare their Leaf favourably as having had the wherewithal to take three games, thus (surely!) proving them to be second-greatest team in the world!! I can just hear tgeir BS now.
DeleteSo... can we get our Chariots of Eggs back now?
Oops. Meant to look up the spelling of segue before hiiting publish. Tiny window on a mobile device -_-
DeleteA very devine send-up of Satisfaction, moeman. Hats off!
ReplyDeleteThanks SiM. Sick and tired of hearing about leaf this, leaf that.
DeleteHey all, great song parody from FHFriend moe, the Stones are my fave band bar none. Greatest concert of my life in Moncton, NB in 2005. Those faces of the overrated leaf are sublime. I haven't paid any attention to the SFUckers lately, so I don't know what's going on there but I assume more of the same circle jerk behaviour at sn and tsn. Whatever.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I would like to mention, however, is all the controversy surrounding Nazem Kadri. I am guilty of trashing Nazem when he was a leaf and I know we had a certain nickname for him regarding his Muslim roots. I didn't consider it racist at the time but I was wrong. I saw the replay of the incident where Binnington was hurt but I don't think Nazem was at fault. How many time did we see Jeff Petry push a forward into his own goalie? Too many by my reckoning. Anyway, good on Kadri for responding last night as he did by sticking to playing hockey, declining fights, taking the late hits, probably ignoring some trash talk and scoring 3 goals. Respect to him. Would I want Hughes to sign him to a contract? Not now, the timing isn't 'Wright' for the Habs, they have a couple more years of rebuilding to go through. But, if the Habs were to sign him I would welcome Kadri to the team as, like Sid, Nazem was a Habs fan growing up in leafool country. I wasn't his fault he was drafted by such an inept organization. Sorry for the long rant and thanks to moe for a new, funny thread.
Good stuff theM and yes kudos to Kadri. Thing to note is a big part of Missouri is quite racist. He'd be a good fit on the current Habs but might be too expensive.
DeleteWell said, the M
DeleteWell, if DVo was traded, that would open up a spot for NK, if he doesn't want too much.
DeleteHey I was at that concert in 2005! I didn't see you there...or maybe I did, who knows. I like the Stones and they put on a fantastic show but I was more excited to see the Hip. Great memories.
DeleteDitto on Kadri. Gotta hate anybody that puts on a leaf sweater. It's nothing personal. But would welcome him with open arms in the right situation.
I guess we can never trade DEVO after that paradoy. I question whether his nick is racist, but today anything is. People call me fat and call them racist.
ReplyDeleteFucking America is beyond broken. I'm not a religious man but bless those poor young souls taken in Texas today. RIP 😥
ReplyDeleteAfter Sandy Hook, I gave up on America's gun culture. They don't care so why should I? It will never change, they bury their dead and move on. That being said, my two youngest grandchildren are about the age of those kids shot today. I can't imagine living in a society like that.
DeleteBeyond repair.
DeleteRest In Peace Ray Liotta
ReplyDeleteBest guest appearance ever in ER. Underrated as sn actor. RiP
Delete"A friendly reminder that 36 years ago yesterday the Montreal Canadiens won the Stanley Cup over the Calgary Flames (all 🇨🇦 series) & were led by a rookie goaltender who won 15 games & had an insane 1.92 GAA, winning playoff mvp. Imagine."
ReplyDelete"(all 🇨🇦 series)" .... I'm pretty sure the two Americans who run the league lose sleep over that possible scenario.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the U.S.A., it is truly mind-boggling (to me anyway) that a bunch of men back in the late 1700's came up with the idea that everyone should be allowed to carry a firearm just in case they had to overthrow a corrupt government. The NRA has managed to convince the majority of Americans this idea is still valid today. The U.S.A. also is one of only two or three countries in the WORLD that do not have universal healthcare. Yet they still insist that their way of life is the one everyone else should emulate. To which I say: Thanks but no thanks.
ReplyDeleteoops, that was me btw
DeleteDo not get me started M. Free trade is bullshit, Trump proved that. The NEP would have made us the most wealthy country in the world, we would have Saudi maids and gardeners as Temp workers.
DeleteWestland has another scoop over on TSN, this one a sordid gang rape incident involving a handful of unnamed CHL players from the Canadian 2018 World Juniors championship team that the now 24 year-old Jane Doe was victimized by in London, ON, four years ago.
ReplyDeleteThe roster: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_World_Junior_Ice_Hockey_Championships_rosters
I just stopped doing obits on the ranCH. Ray was the best actor in the best mob movie of all time, and one of the greatest movies ever made. RIP
ReplyDeleteBye bye Flames. Sorry Toffee. But this result favours the Habs for the draft, giving them the higher of the Flames two picks or something like that.
ReplyDeleteToo bad about Toffee, but "he's already got one. It's very nice!" Happy to see Pretzel and Tkachuk exit.
ReplyDeleteOf all the trades, Leki and Kadillak are doing the best. One of them should make it to the final. Hoping for Kulak and the Oil, but probably see the Avs make it. Through no fault of his own, Kulak has lost some of his shine, because apparently mclame has one of his weird man crushes on him.
Congrats to the Oilers, they played well but Calgary shit the proverbial bed.
ReplyDeleteAnyone outside of the biased leaf-loving media knows full well that McDavid and Draisitl are more worthy of MVP/Hart• than Nachos.
DeleteConnor is leading his team to victory, even with a crap goalie, something Narcos is incapable of. MVP indeed.
DeleteNear impossible to comprehend how totally fucked up part of the USofAR15 is. Just fucking sickening how such young innocent lives are worth less than ammo for their weapons of mass destruction.
ReplyDeleteTruth.
DeleteThey cannot comprehend a society without guns and bullets.
They made sure no guns would be present for Trump's speech at hgd NRA convention in Houston last night. They know. They just don't care enough about living kids. But don't getme started on how far they'll go to protect zygotes and fetuses meanwhile.
DeleteOn that winning goal the Avs scored with seconds left, I noticed the play started with one of the Avs' Johnsons skating the puck out of their own wnd with about 12 seconds left in a tie game. He gets past the Blues' #25 Jordan Kyrou along the boards. Kyrou barely puts up any forechecking resistance, losing his man. Toronto born player tanking his team at a crucial moment. I bet he gets a hometown disvount to sign with the Leaf someday.
ReplyDeleteWell done, Avs. Should be a fun series against the Oilers.
Just finished watching the doc, The Kids in the Hall: Comedy Punks" on Prime. An excellent time was had by me.
ReplyDeleteBinged it last week. The Kids still have it and then some. Some skits literally bowled me over. Looks like Amazon Prime will pick up a second season.
DeleteBut check out the dounentary too (Comedy Punks)
DeleteOliers win the cup. One Mutant against all time and I bet on the mutant/
ReplyDeleteSteve, I hope you are right. It's past time to get the Cup out of buttman's slimy clutches and back in Canada plus, it will prove beyond a doubt that McDavid is far better than narcos, despite the SFU telling you different.
DeleteKid Koho still not very effective this playoffs and now the Rags have evened it up. Should be a classic Game 7.
ReplyDeleteGo Rags!
DeleteHeh, my daughter's BF streamed the 3rd period yesterday. NYR wins and I thought the series was over.
DeleteJust to put my two cents in on the Stones and Nathan vs Connor
ReplyDeleteSaw the Hot Rocks tour at the Forum in I think it was 71 had this guy Stevie Wonder as the opening band was awesome
Looking forward to the battle of the generational talents
I personally think the Aves have a leg up on the oil either way leko or caddilak gets to move on
Go Habs
Stones new EU tour has some amazing opening acts this summer.
DeleteGood stuff on the rehab St. Pad
ReplyDeleteTwo wonderful days in Montreal … when you have a master chef in the family! and he has a nice pizza oven and all the amazing Jean Talon produce and cheeses and meats, (and lots of Prosecco) yowsa!
ReplyDeleteNot jealous at.all....
DeleteSaw the Finnish Prime Minister at the gold medal game. JT's title of.hottest leader might be in jeopardy.
ReplyDeleteAnd yet, Erdogan? I mean... wha???
DeleteWow. IIHF reffing is as shit as the NHL.
ReplyDeleteCanada overcomes it scoring 2 with the goalie pulled to send it to OT. But alas,.Finn's win with a PP goal. I was hoping if the Finn's won, it would be Armia scoring while wearing #10.
WOT we are five years from even eating fresh Tomatos. GO HABS GO and its a project of decades so do not be sad at the short term outcomes. There is a way forward, there is parade.
ReplyDeleteIts supid to hook up OV with the geopolitics.
ReplyDeleteToo bad team Canada got reamed by some bush league reffing, thought they were going to pull it off even playing a no name goalie out of the Swedish Elite league. Oh well, silver is better than nothing and bonus, the Americans go home empty handed.
ReplyDeleteI probably won't watch but I hope the Rags knock off the Windbags and their petty owner, dumb twit of a GM and their dumb as rocks fans. Carolina is the epitome of classless organization.
ReplyDeleteThe Rags ownership meanwhile fired their GM for speaking truth to power (DOPS) and standing up to the league to protect his star players against Wilson's Capital offenses of reckless goonery. Either way, the rested Bolts will make mincemeat of their next opponent.
DeleteAnd yeah, that was our Gorton. So their stupidity, Habs' gain.
DeleteCarolina was up 2-0 in the series. Too bad, so sad, bye bye
DeleteBienvenue Martin St-Louis, the 32nd official head coach of the Montreal Canadiens. Three years, no longer interim in title. May your team continue to fare better than under the last guy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a revelation! Too bad it took SO long to find a team that recognizes this, but I'm ready for the ride!
ReplyDeleteWelcome officially MSL!
“Do I want to win at the price of not developing the young guys? No,” said St. Louis when discussing his priorities for next season. “Sometimes, you got to put those guys on the ice and show them confidence. I’m not going into the season thinking I have to win every game at the price of young kids.”
St. Louis remained focused on building a sustainable winning culture, but also cautioned that he wouldn’t tolerate a loser’s mentality either; seeking a balance between on-ice success and on-ice development as he continues to help the club’s youngsters reach new heights.
“It’s about not thinking that losing is okay, but also not about winning at all costs,” said St. Louis when discussing the balance between winning and development.
I like the way this guy thinks. He's a chess player while guys like julien and doucheharm play checkers. Or something.
