Aaron Ward was on with Melnick who I can only take in small doses. Anyway, for one game, the AI would say ID Demigod is operating in a territory only seen by Conner Mcdavid and Nathan Mackinnion. Let that sink in even if you hate math. We are going to ride this Russian Bear to the Stanley cup this year. GO YOU FUCKING HABS GO like you have never GONE FUCKING HABS BEFORE>
I've reminded myself as I've preached in the past, that whether the Habs miss the playoffs, win the cup, or anything in between, the outcome actually has no impact on my day to day life. So I'm just gonna go with the flow and not sweat it. Of course winning the cup and rubbing it into the faces of my leaf fans friends would be pretty sweet...
For my own mental well being I won't be watching tomorrow night's festivities but I will follow along with your commentary on this blog. If they can make the playoffs I can watch because there will be no pressure to win anything.
Or as I told my family: Well the Habs just proved religion more important than politics. They had to change the time of tonight’s political debate due to a religious 🏒 festival at the la Centre Bell tonight….Lehab
The Canes apparently have called up a handful of no names to give their regulars a rest. That sounds about right, losing to an AHL squad to end the season.
one of you said it on the previous post, it couldnt be written better if those bjs did it for johnny hawkey led by his best friend monohab. such sweet poetic justice to be done in by the whalers, (actually a farm team version of them!) who weve beat up on for soooo many times in their history. fml... its gonna happen, isnt it boys?
all they had to do was collect 3 pts from: OTW-TML-CHI-CAR
combined with them needing to collect all 12 from: OTW-BUF-WSH-WSH-PHI-NYI?!?!?
boys... if they somehow manage to rewrite history as the biggest choke artists ever, im not sure i can continue being amongst u guys. its taken this year to fully bring me back from watching TFS absolutely crap the bed, along with cpt bbq finally rusting out losing 4-1 to that really annoying stupid mayor.
the only saving grace i have is to offer my rookie card of you St.P in sacrifice if you can summon your troops to rise to the occasion. if at all possible, i would profess my devotion to the holy saviour annoit a. duclair as our last hope for this "meaningful games in april" sad excuse of a playoff contender.
In Saint Patrick we must trust If those boys can’t get up for this game tomorrow there’s no hope for the future When it’s do or die we do Anyway Go Habs
The Habs are down a goal. Under a minute to play. Suzuki, Caufield, Laine, Demidov and Hutson are on the ice. That's a lot of talent.
99 times out of 100 I would throw Brendan Gallagher over the boards as the extra attacker and bet on him to be the guy to save the season. I had him at 100 at first, but the big body of Josh Anderson and his comeback season merits a try.
Lep being the 5th. I suppose one could consider that dangerous. But with nothing to lose...except the game and season...I stand by it. But if you need a 2nd D, yes to your suggestion. Sadly it would probably be Matheson instead.
Their is no historical precedento or overiding authourity that can tell us what will happen on the ice tonite. I believe in the Ghost of the Fourm. Can they penatrate a greasy fucking corporate pillbox, I dont know. What I know is that win or lose I will not make a single criticatl note when evaluating the 2024-2025 Habs. After decades of nothing to hold on to when the ship is sinking, we got liferafts full of people that think they can not only prevent the ship from sinking, they can win the race. Go Yo u Fucking Habs Go.
7evans just won a draw clean, but the canes guys werent ready for it. they all stood up waiting for it to be redone and they simply allowed play to continue!
it went our way, but WTF?!? in the spirit of fair play, how can u allow that?!?
aside from this just finished pp, no urgency whatsoever. the entire team stinks of that "we got this" attitude, but they gonna get sh#### if they dont start "doing the things which need to be done".
great line coach, but how do u force your team to live by that?
I was going to mention how much of a shambles it was in the O-zone, flubbed passes, missed passes, intercepted passes and too damn many passes. How about shooting once in a while? Are you scared to take a shot? SMH.
u see that guys! THAT is what it takes to win in this league! take note GIJöel, slaf... even cpt slick nick (sometimes). atta boy 7evans! way to take that hit
Watched the Carolina feed but tuned into SN post game. Isn't that the guy with the idiot Kypreos that said Suzuki was maybe a top 25 C in the league? And he's here telling us how great he is now?
if i had my choice, i woulda preferred them to lose tn so they can go thru the longest 24hr period ever, do some serious self-reflection, experience guilt over losing to a minor league team, lament regret, then grow as a team cheering along st. patricks to answer their hail mary.
Sportsnet was showing a few clips of the Habs/Caps series back in 2010 ... showed our old pal MAB the Urologist scoring a goal, Dominic Moore, I had forgot all about him. I still remember how Jaro stoned them and SuperPleXXX scoring some big goals, probably the best he ever played. Great memories.
You're not alone. I couldn't watch the 1st period, put it on about 5 minutes into the 2nd but kept the sound off and did some reading about the debate.
Like you, as a senior citizen, I can't take the stress of watching these games like I used to. The next games won't be stressful because they are not expected to win. Down the road in the next few years it will be a different story.
@The M Mrs. CHester’s uncle was told by his doctor to stop watching the Habs He was getting on and the playoffs are stressful We are in a great place now Almost like a reset back to the beginning when Marty stepped in and there was no pressure, just learn and get better First time for most and we are not expected to win So just go out there and have at it Just one thing is better start dressing Ax And sitting Savvy Just sayin Anyway good for us Iike us Go Us
Just want to say, I've been hard on Slaf (not as hard as the M, mind you), but he had a great game last night despite choosing not to end Hall and taking a penalty instead. He had a role in the first three goals and he seems to be becoming more aware. Maybe it's like Brian Wilde said, there is a new kid in town that has made him take notice and if he wants to keep his spot he damn well better start earning it.
Anyway, it's all gravy from here on in.
The big question now in my bracket challenge, do I pick with my heart or with my head.
@CHester, I had two co-workers back in the day, their dads were not allowed to watch their teams anymore due to heart conditions. And now here we are, two old fuddy-duddys who can't watch the Habs. Crazy.
First world problems, I'll take it. Just a comment on The Slavster. He's not the shiny new thing anymore, wonder how that messes with his head. Suzies goal was only there cause of him. Imagine if he turns into the power forward Hugo envisioned. That would be epic. I remember that Larry said that nobody took him seriously till he developed an edge to his game. I think the same with Slav, he's a gentle soul, nice guy ... but that's not hockey. Be nice and help somebody up after you crush them, but crush them. Anyway Go Habs
Fuck...and Yeah! Playoffs bitches! One mutherfucker at a time...no bracket for me this year. I just want them to take it one game at a time and see what happens.

ReplyDeletePotential last game of the season.
ReplyDeleteWon’t be.
Must watch game.

You know
ReplyDeleteI don’t need this in my life right now
We’re gonna have to tie the large rotating storm
Fuck
Go Habs
The French debate was moved to 6:00 so it wouldn’t conflict with the Habs game.
ReplyDeleteOr as I told my family:
DeleteWell the Habs just proved religion more important than politics. They had to change the time of tonight’s political debate due to a religious 🏒 festival at the la Centre Bell tonight….Lehab
Ok Philthy not helping.

Just dawned on me what this post's title is. Cheeky!
ReplyDeleteI feel like the moment is there to be grabbed and the vets in the line-up from the 2021 run will not let it fall from their grasp.
Lep
Nature
GI Finn
7vens

They will lead the way
I hope Ax is in but seems doubtful.

Five forwards? I'd add Guhle myself. Or take Laine out for Guhle and Lep.

it went our way, but WTF?!? in the spirit of fair play, how can u allow that?!?
Not a period that gives a lot of faith. 33 1/3% in the faceoff circle doesn't help.
ReplyDeleteSo far, meh.
ReplyDeleteGet out of first gear FFS.
~~~
unless they start playing like they know whats at stake, this has suckerpunch victory all over it.
ReplyDeletefrom last match vs CHI, any of u got anything to say about that shootout?!
aside from this just finished pp, no urgency whatsoever. the entire team stinks of that "we got this" attitude, but they gonna get sh#### if they dont start "doing the things which need to be done".
... before stressing about the dreaded 2-goal collapse?
Deletewas just gonna post this and then those goals happened. finally some jump these last few shifts (esp 2nd half of period).
ReplyDeletegood on slaf finally using his body to win a loose puck.
good on savvy for jumping in to create a chance on the rush!
time to cool it kaiden. save some of this blueline magic for the next game(s)?
I was going to mention how much of a shambles it was in the O-zone, flubbed passes, missed passes, intercepted passes and too damn many passes. How about shooting once in a while? Are you scared to take a shot? SMH.
DeleteMerci RDS for a great season.
ReplyDelete~~~
Ben oui. Très triste
DeleteI am a guy who will go to RDS first, always. Bout à bout, no one does it better.
DeleteHutson ties the record with his 60th assist as a D rookie. Incredible.
ReplyDeletePing.
ReplyDelete1 more point would get Nature to 90.
ReplyDeleteMake it so.
But most importantly, for HF29, Hang the fuck on!
Fuck
ReplyDeletemy underpants are turning brown
ReplyDeletehavnt been following, but how are calgary still in it? werent they far behind like CBJ also?
ReplyDeleteThey were eliminated last night.
DeleteSo Habs now own their 1st round 2025 pick. :-D
DeleteProbably for the best I've lost my connection to the game...
ReplyDeleteu see that guys! THAT is what it takes to win in this league! take note GIJöel, slaf... even cpt slick nick (sometimes). atta boy 7evans! way to take that hit
ReplyDelete.... and now send us to the post-season!
7vens!
ReplyDeleteWe’re in
ReplyDeleteA most satidfying result.
DeleteBiggest team win since 2021.
ReplyDeleteHello Caps. Meet the next Russian to score 800 - as a Habitant!
Back in time to see the celebration.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the guys. It wasn't always pretty but they are certainly now IN THE MIX!!!
Watched the Carolina feed but tuned into SN post game.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that the guy with the idiot Kypreos that said Suzuki was maybe a top 25 C in the league? And he's here telling us how great he is now?
Yeah, that's him, I think he later admitted he was wrong and said he was probably top 10 or so.
DeleteSo happy to not have to give two flying fucks what happens tomorrow night in Columbus.
ReplyDeleteGYFHG!!!!!!!
Congrats to Marty and the Habs getting into the playoffs. I admit I had lost faith in them, I am happy to be proven wrong.
ReplyDeleteTo a man, e're long it may be that I am blessed to walk this earth, I will tell any and everyone: It was never in doubt.
DeleteThe Force is strong in this one... : )
ReplyDeleteHopefully Rogers give their leaf primetime Saturday night and the Habs get an extra day off and start on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteThanks to Coach Brind'Amour for resting his stars. We owe you one.
ReplyDeleteDidn’t miss a single minute.
