  2. Yvan Cournoyer, my first Habs favourite player, what a class act. Great player, All-Star, Stanley Cup champion, he had speed to burn and could shoot from both sides (using a straight blade stick), one of the all time greats.

  3. Didn't get a chance to comment on the last thread, I'm very happy with how the NY Giants draft went, they got the best pass rusher available and a possible future very good QB. I had gone to bed by the time the Giants made that trade to get Jaxson Dart so was unaware until this morning. Great move by GM Joe Schoen to move up and pick at 25 instead of 34. With Russell Wilson I feel the Giants can at least be competitive this season, maybe get to 8 wins. That would be a huge improvement.
I read this morning that the teams that interviewed Shedeur Sanders came away with the impression he felt 'entitled'. No surprise there considering how swell headed his father was.

  4. About tonight's game -- Go Habs Go ! Fuck the refs ! Fuck the sfu and fuck gary buttman !

  5. Rumours swirling that the nuclear deterrent will be deployed tonight -- the Big AX ! Keep you head up Wilson...

  6. Laine not skating. I think he tweaked his knee and will not dress tonight. Kap should replace him and ID to PP1 with Whiskey back to his spot and ID in the bumper spot.
And AX should be in for Savvy...as I mentioned he left that door open.
Or maybe they go with 11F/7D?

Can't wait to see the buzz in Montréal tonight!

    Go You MF Habs Go!

  8. hey SiM! yes yes yes, that 0-2 start in '93 did come to my mind, but i was deliberately ignoring it b/c we had somebody in net instead of somebody else. i havta be honest that im the biggest critique of you know who, but i also gotta give credit. if it wasnt for him, this series would still be 2-0, but sentiment would be completely different.

im ready to accept your (prayer) for 1993 deja-vue however, b/c i completely missed the connection between that yr and mr. fake ID. did he choose his number specifically for that?!? and then the photo of the roadrunner... i didnt know he wore #22. is that an omen our current #22 is destined for gr8ness?

5hrs out and im a nervous mess. bring me back boys. im a puddle of jelly rn.

    1. That's a 1. Cournoyer wore 12. And our 22 now wears 13 in honour of his friend Johnny Goudreau.
I'm sure it all means something and the Forum ghosts will travel to the Bell Centre tonight and help our boys bring it home.

    Smashing hour, late hit hour

I can cry, beg and whine

Stephane Auger is the in-house ref at tva.
He was a clown on the ice.
    Even moreso off the ice.
He let slip that refs look for differentials, to even up.
    He’s a fat slob. Unathletic.

    tva is pure shit.
    Low level broadcast.
    Minor league people.
They shouldn’t be permitted to show Habs games.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Watching the TNT broadcast. The play by play is ok. Equal. I think Bottershrill does the colour? Not great but she doesn't show disdain for the Habs so better than Galley.
Idiot Bisonnette is on the intermission panel, and with the addition of Lalonde on SN, I have to give the SFU panel the edge.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Fuck, this team are a bunch of whiny bitches when the refs dare to call a penalty on them.

  42. That is the best hockey I've seen this team play, possibly all year. How often do we see 40+ shots?
    Lots of heroes tonight.
Anderson for sticking up to that shithead Wilson.
Devo - Man I've given him a hard time for a couple of years now but he has had a good season and great playoff so far.
KidA - just being his usual self, but winning puck battles all night is what stood out.
Slaf - strong on the puck, lots of scoring chances.
TJHooker - so much better on the wing.
    Monty. Hope it's not serious.
Doobie. - great relief job. I have faith if he has to be the guy.
I don't need to say anything about the usual stars. They were their awesome selves.

I don't recall seeing a lot of AX after he was complicit in the 2nd goal against, but I think his presence alone makes all the Habs bigger and tougher.

Worst thing is we're about 45 hours away from the next game.

Ditto, I thought ID Demigod was going to steal the Great 8' s hero of the Soviet Union, maybe next game, for sure he is looking better every shift. My only fly shit is that Slafzilla is the only first PP member where the puck goes to die half the time. But lets not let perfection interfere with the possible we witnessed.

im over the moon what we saw is waht (really did) happened. im so prpud of the boys for stepping up "when the cards were on the line".

what i cant get over, is if this is just a bump like the daily stock market roller coaster, or if this is a moment of wokeness (in a good way) towards bigger and better things to come.

im so conflicted that im wondering of this equates the days when squid, chicken and mexicant were our biggest last great hopes!

  47. Hey FHFriends, sorry I'm late chiming in, I had a family event I had to attend and watched on delay.
Best game I've seen them play in years maybe.
There were no passengers, a full 60 minute effort.
Fast Lane Hutson is amazing, the vision, the skill.
Josh Anderson was a Beast all night long.
AX made everyone 3 inches taller and 25 lbs heavier, I can live with the odd brain cramp.

This series has taken a whole new turn with both starting goalies injured, looks like Thompson is done. Who will back up Doobie? Have to be Primeau is my guess.

    The Montreal crowd was amazing.

  54. It's been sometime since I was this excited to watch a Habs game. Last night was outstanding, the Horsepower wrecking ball, the Fast Lane skill and elite vision, I even have to give props to #20 for his physicality last night. The Arber effect, even in the warmup chirping idiot Wilson. Speaking of idiot Wilson, did you guys notice ID's little unseen (by the blind mice refs) slew foot in the neutral zone. That was funny.
I've brought this up before but it bears repeating : many on line commenters for the last three years all saying 'trade Anderson trade Gallagher they aren't worth their contracts' ! I wonder what they think now? For the record, I never advocated trading either of them. They always had value beyond scoring goals and are proving it now. I did think trading Devo was a good idea but am having second thoughts about that. That line is awesome. Devo may be worth hanging on to for a couple more years. He's an experienced veteran and a great faceoff guy. sfu analyst Derek Lalonde likes both him and 7Evans for their defensive play. I don't know if you've noticed but Bieksa calls Lalonde 'Newsy', in reference to Habs great and Hall of Famer Newsy Lalonde. I got a kick out of that.
I'm pretty sure that game last night will be discussed for years. Habs fans show other teams fans how to get it done.

    5. I remember the HMCS Hal Gill everytime I see Savvy doing this. He's not quite as effective as Gill was because he's not as big, but he gets the job done.
Even Matheson had a great defensive play doing this last night.

    6. The Caps will adjust to that tendency (and others) for Game 4. But in MSL I trust to be one step ahead.

  60. One of the worst issues with Rogers controlling the schedule is they will always alter it so their wretched team plays on Saturdays. Hence the two day break after game 4.
I only hope it bites them in the ass and they need that game 7 next Saturday, and we can watch their compost heap go up in flames.
