New plan. Not going to watch live. If they lose (and I despise the 'turds) I didn't see it. If they win, I can watch the recording at my leisure. Go Habs Go!
Got a trivia fundraiser tonight. Not sure how late it will go, but at best I expect to catch the last period. Started a new service last night. A friend of a friend does it on his dad's behalf. So far so good. Golf season started .Nick Taylor off to a good start.
If you happen to be watching leafnet's Hockey Day in the CotU, you will see mclame on the 'Ian Fowler Oval' skating surface outside the new Avenir Centre in Moncton, N.B. Funny story regarding Mr. Fowler, who was the City of Moncton's General Manager of Economic Development, Tourism & Culture back in 2005 when he brought the Rolling Stones to the Magnetic Hill venue. Three days before the concert the City shut down a side street near the venue for traffic and crowd control. The folks who lived on that street were needless to say, not happy. It was estimated there around 75,000 people at that concert and I and Mrs. theM were there. When the concert was over, they funneled the crowd up to that side street which led to Mountain Road which was where the hotels were located and it was probably a mile hike out of there. After standing for about 6 hours or longer, it was an endurance test. What I remember was when we were walking out. some of the folks who lived on the street had set up their lawn chairs and enjoyed the concert for free on the huge screen that was set up. One of the residents though had a big sign set up in front of his house which read: "Hey Mick! When you leave please take Ian Fowler with you! That cracked me up at the time and I never forgot it. Mr. Fowler passed back in 2011 so hence the Oval being named after him. That was the concert of a lifetime for me. Hard to believe it's been over 20 years now.
The Hip were good, Gord was really animated that day I remember. We got up to the site around 4pm, the first band was finishing up. Then it was Our Lady Peace, Maroon 5, the Hip and then the Stones. Mick, Keith, Charlie and Ron and all the supporting cast were all outstanding. Best show I ever saw in my life. As I said, it was a long, long day, I ended up with plantar fachitus in my right foot being right handed I favoured that side all day long. It took over a year for that to go away. But, it was all worth it.
The Wild did the Habs a favour today holding Barfalo to a single point. The Habs need to take this game tonight to extra time at least. Go Jets! as well. Anybody else notice that since the phuckers signed DVo to that big contract extension they've crashed and burned? Beat up today by the 'retooling' Rags.
Prince (Rest in Peace)
