Good for Monty. Good for his psyche heading into the break.
Good for Old KidG. Good for PH. Depth is so important to go deep in the playoffs...assuming you get there.
That goal by Hutson was insane. I've watched it a dozen times. I think they said he was clocked at 35km/h. Then to casually turn, receive a pass (a beauty at that from PH) on the backhand, rotate to the forehand and put it in off the post in one smooth motion is incredible.
The HellBeYank head jerk after was icing on the cake. As I noted last night, I think I heard FastFuckingLane (FFL) say to HellBeYank as he skated past, "when you get to Milan, tell Guerin I said Hi."
So I'm no wheeler dearler guy but I think the kinks got a scoop A late first round prospect and a conditional 3rd (from a contender) I think Mr Drurey got his pocket picked and his rebuild announcement just makes thing seem desperate No way to deal very unlike Cool Hand Kent Can see the man's drawbacks and now better understand the sacking of Gorton Doophus So on to the Lympics and us! GGH
I seem to remember the Rags hit a rough patch and the owner Dolan hit the panic button and fired Mr. Gorton and Drury took over. I would like to thank Mr. Dolan for our good fortune. The fried man said that Panarin backed Drury into the corner saying he would only go to L.A. So it was take the L.A. offer or get nothing when the Bread Man walked to UFA this July. As a side note, Liam Greentree who was the Kings #26 pick in 2024, was where HuGo was originally going to pick but they added a spare 2nd rounder to #26 so they could move up to #21 and take Michael Hage. So, all this talk about trading Hage for Sid or whoever ain't gonna happen, they like this kid too much. He will probably replace Nick as the #1 center some day.
Saw a headline over at tsn that Leon called out the coaches after they lost to Calgary last night. Looks like there is trouble in Oil country... besides 'sTrumpet' Smith trying to fuck the rest of the country over. Traitor bitch.
I'm not a Monty fan but I have to give him big kudos for that performance last night. The Habs had no legs to start and he held them in until they found them. This after his coach got fired and he lost his ma mere. Golf clap for him.
I hope Marty still gives the majority of the starts to Doobie when play resumes.
I'm sorry but it's a struggle to get behind a team that has ratface and headhunter Wilson on it.
BTW, who is that very fit curler in the last picture?
Alas, it is one of my all time favourites, Anna Sidorova. But because she resides in the land of a murderous dictator, haven't seen her play in many years. Oh...she's Russian, not American. I could see how that may not be clear.
I used to love hearing her yell "Sveeep!" (note the V sound)
Seems like Gavin is showing the muricants how thinks are done in The Yukon. Guess that will shut them up for a while, till the take the wires out anyway GGH
Just checking the Team Canada men's roster defensemen and I can't believe they took Sanheim, Doughty and Parayko over Dobson. I get the forwards (Bedard should be there though) and goalies. Although for me Bennett and Wilson aren't great choices, except for meat to meas with Tkachuks
Bedard getting passed over not just once, but twice, as a replacement is a kick in the nads. Glad they passed on Shitfly though, he looked terrible vs the Habs. Even his crazy eyes aren't enough to convince HC that he could handle the kachooks.
Also, the USA lucked out with no serious contenders in their Group C. Meanwhile: Sweden and Finland together in B; Canada and Czechnia together in A. Smells like a Bettman concession to me. But this is our completely corrupt contemporary world, after all.
Just when you think the orange felon can't sink any lower he finds a way. The most vile, disgusting, evil, corrupt human being in this century. The US will never recover from all this shite.
I updated my profile picture, the Habs fans in paper bags seems unnecessary today. The current photo is one I took of a sunset on the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia where I grew up. It's a small community where my father fished for lobsters. I thought it was pretty spectacular.
Nova Scotia's just stunning. My nephew is starting his ugrad at Acadia U. this fall. Can't wait for the excuse to go pay Wolfville and the Bay of Fundy a visit.
The department of player destruction doing its job. For sure there is no connection between getting your block knocked off and brain damage. I know I have had my block knocked off several times and look at me. https://x.com/i/status/2019213077615640772
From Stu Cowan --- hard to believe it's been 4 years.
THIS DATE IN #HABS HISTORY Feb. 8, 2022: The Canadiens lost 7-1 to the New Jersey Devils at the Bell Centre in what ended up being Dominique Ducharme's last game as head coach. He was fired the next day and replaced by Martin St. Louis.
The US has dug themselves a hole they will be a long, long time climbing out of, if they ever do. The world, and Canada in particular, will have long memories of all the insults, threats and economic hardships thrown our way. I would never trust them again. And I will never, ever set foot in their country again.
That half time show was spectacular --- a great big giant FUCK YOU to trump and all the maga assholes. All in Spanish and the only white face I saw was Lady Gaga. Love it.
I watched the WM golf tournament this afternoon. This is an event in Scottsdale Arizona and is usually heavily attended by Canadians from western Canada. The 16th hole is a par 3 with a colosseum set up around the green. This area is always packed with fans (usually drinking heavily) and if you miss your approach shot you are lustily booed. This year I noticed there were many, many empty seats in the stands, a much smaller crowd standing around the green and hardly any people booing. I suspect this tournament was heavily boycotted by Canadians and I'll bet they took a financial hit in ticket and beer sales. I sure hope so.
Also, there were two times when leader Hideki Matsuame had to back off because some asshole yelled in his back swing. Probably cost him the win. Fucking poor sport murican assholes. I hope they lose at everything.
I noticed the crowds looked smaller and seemed less rowdy. Fewer crazy canucks would make that happen. I wasn't watching too closely, I get tired of their focus on players like Scheffler. It's like when Tiger played, it was as if there was nobody else on the course.
Ok so my prediction is closer than I'd hoped. Like our Habs, Pats are a young team. These guys overachieved this year..Seattle and I'm still shocked to say Sam Darnold, deserve this win.
Can you give the MVP to an entire defence? That would be cool.

I'm in Vancouver this week for a conference. Mrs. SiM saw the news and was in holy shit mode until I saw Tumbler Ridge is as far away as I imagine Schefferville is from Montreal.
25 injured along with the dead, in a remote coal mining town of 2400, must be the height ofcommunity trauma. So very sad.
It's unbelievably been 29 years since I left BC, but I lived in Prince George, worked for the Ministry of Transportation and Highways and the northeast was my domain. Made one trip to Tumbler.
Condolences to all the survivors and family members and RIP to those gone too soon. :(

Toylar Cranston, Elvis Stoko and whoever married the leaf player, those are the skaters I might recongnize. And everyone should chase their own dream with no limits.
Did Bettman send the IOC a memo about calling penalties vs the Habs? Tbf, it was a penalty though unintended. Too bad, Nature made a beauty play to get the puck to Mack.
I watched the first two periods, then I had to go out to do stuff. I figured a 3 goal lead was safe. I tried to ignore ratface douchebag and Tom the headhunter when they were on the ice.
They may take back my degree. History Majors have a code. Do not predict the future. Otherwise everyone would be getting History degrees winning the lottery and civilization would collapse. It takes a lot of self restraint not to win the lottery. Our wall of fame is all the members who did not win the lottery. So by thinking or alledging that this will be the worst year in a long long long years of worst years in Leaf history, I risk my place on the wall. But sometimes the truth matters more than tradition. Canada annihlites USA in the gold metal game. I smackdown. Capt PJ with his porn statche has to crawl back to Canada with his Gucci Suit and luggage. Team USA did not take two Habs, no they relied on a half Mexicant and the other half may have danced at the Bolshi.

A ruskie head case
Wise move by Hugo to take a pass on that
Very little news from the armpit
Wonder what this means hmmm
Anyway go Canada

… and it ain’t just us, Brian Wilde today …
ReplyDeleteAuston Matthews is an awesome player. Great skills.
DeleteBut why do they keep pushing leadership on the poor fellah. There is absolutely nothing that says leader about him. Nothing. Ever. Off the ice or on.
Just let him be a player and I bet he would perform so much better without that “C” pressure.
Now compare him to Nature, a natural born leader.
ReplyDeleteNature continues the tradition of players hauling their own bags, Nachos hires Snow Mexicans to do ti.

Good luck to Slaf and Kappy today. Don't hurt each other.

ReplyDeleteStill seems to be humble and that's good
So reading the latest jocularity from the armpit it's pretty clear that they believe they can trade some of their ordinary players for first rounders and dreamy packagers
The psychosis is real
They will leave the only assets with any value with the team alone and somehow trade their other units to form a contending team overflowing with awesomeness
These people need medication
Netflix needs to film this hilarity
Anyway
Big game tomorrow
Our girls have been a big part of our country's success in international competition so now time for our men to take care of business
First off against the stain of North america
We need Tom to absolutely flatten the orcs brother and then the orc himself in that order and I mean flatten like a fucking pancake
