Habs haven't lost 2 in a row. Habs were the first to beat Carolina at home. Tonight, the Habs will be first to beat Carolina on the road. Doby will not allow more than 2. Just gotta score 3. I expect OG in for some front of the net spark. Shots from the point. Pucks on net. And as one of the few good ones on SN, Ken Reid says, pucks in deep. Killed them last game, one small mistake can kill you. I hope to see AX and he can play at least 10 minutes and throw his weight around without giving the stripes any reason to give him 2 minutes.
Gotta fix that home record if they want to go far. But, on the off chance the Habs go to the Finals, do they get home ice? They had the better overal record than the Solden Pissers.
Hey, Taylor Hall you know I'm really okay The stick in my hand will tell you the same But when I’m on the ice, don’t give me no crap ‘Cause the slightest thing and I just might snap Another Goal!
When I go skating, I don’t stay in one Lane But getting cut off, I will make you insane [Refrain] I open my skates, deke inside I'm gonna wreck this fucker's ride
[Chorus] I guess I got a bad habit Of blowin' you Canes away (Yeah, yeah) I got a bad habit (Yeah, yeah) And it ain't goin' away (Yeah, yeah) Yeah (Yeah, yeah) Yeah, oh-oh Woah-oh-oh
They say the ice is a dangerous place If you hit me knee on knee AX will get in your face
If you skate up my ass, your foot’s on the gas And your next breath is your last [Chorus] I guess I got a bad habit Of blowin' you Canes away (Yeah, yeah) I got a bad habit (Yeah, yeah) And it ain't goin' away (Yeah, yeah) Ye-yeah (Yeah, yeah) Yeah, oh
Canes fans are rude Such attitudes But when I show my skills Complaints cease
Something’s odd I feel like I’m God Taylor Hall You stupid dumbshit goddamn motherfucker! Oh, woah! oh! woah!
[Refrain] I open the skates Deke inside I'm gonna wreck this fucker's ride
[Chorus] I guess I got a bad habit Of blowin' you Canes away (Yeah, yeah) I got a bad habit (Yeah, yeah) And it ain't goin' away (Yeah, yeah) Yeah (Yeah, yeah) Yeah (Yeah, yeah)
Of course he liked the drink. Was hungover many days. Got a lot of "we're gonna watch a flick today"...and I sat next to the outlet the projector plugged into and was tasked with ensuring it didn't fall out (the plug was loose). After about the 6th flick, I rigged a little strap using push pins and an elastic to keep it plugged in. We must have watched at least 30 films. But we would discuss them the following day, so he didn't totally mail it in.
Even though it has Maga99 and Bisonette (I refuse to use his nickname which I think he gave to himself), TNT has a full 60 minute pre-game and is relatively equally shared betwixt the teams. If I can totally miss on Betnet with maclame and his band of clowns, I'm in a better place.
Lemieux, a bit of an underwhelming choice. But maybe it's a sign they need to play his gritty style of hockey. On the edge, but not over it. Just no turtling like he used to do.
Put Walker on AX's hit list for next game. Calling that roughing on Evans is cowardly. Full speed running of our goalie (again) vs a couple weak shots to the back of Walker's head. Yeah those are equal...
If the Habs want any chance to get back into this, they have to learn how to score the first goal. And preferably the second. Carolina play differently when trying to come back. If Carolina have another golden opportunity (or goal) on the first shift again tomorrow night, this wild ride might just be over.
I'm not giving up on them yet, but they are looking overwhelmed. I hope MSL and his crew can figure out a way to get a fast start and put pucks on net.
I don't know if it has something to do with being older, or maybe I've watched so much hockey I've picked up a 6th sense but I knew they were going to lose after watching only the second period. No cohesion, discombobulated, it was all unfolding before my eyes. I wasn't going to lose sleep watching that mess. I dunno, maybe they are out of gas. It's not the same bunch that beat Tampon and buffalo. If they don't figure it out they won't win another game.
Lots of pressure on Marty et al A man to man forecheck should be beatable One thing I have noticed is we are not first on the puck and there is no time to think. Playing pass the puck around in there end is leading to no shots anyway we can beat these things But I agree that the gang looks a little worn out Time to recharge GGH
I'm trying not to look too far ahead, but I'm hella curious who fills out 2C spot next year. I see ex-Halifax Moosehead Nico Hischier is being talked about as a possibility. Skilled player, but I think they need a C with size and skill, if that exists.
Dammit Jim, we are a hockey team not a pest extermination squad. Okay the crossbread mountian boys are pesky, but we just got to give them some white lighting, tingle
Agreed We are being pushed around We need some window pane as it was mild and will make them pliable If we are looking for something more deliberate we should go barrels But we need to knock their blocks off I say Bring in Rino And move Studle and Ax to the fourth line with Joe Volcano and establish some death forechecking on those fucking mofos Play a heavy game see how they like it GGH
Vegas wins. Extra motivation for the Habs? Bettman's faves got some sweet reffing help and fairly easy match-ups so far. Deep line-up of prime, detestable talent though. Eichel, Marner, Stone, Karlson, Theodore, Hertyl, Hanifin...
Tomortow the Habs swing the momentum back. MSL won a Cup with Torts as his coach, didn't he? Destiny awaits.
It only took them 16 games to get to the final. Habs have already played 17 and will have played at least 20 if they get there too. Tons of top-notch playoff experience banked by these young Habs, one way or the other.
Whether it's the Habs or the Hillbillies making it out of the east, we can be sure of one thing. SFU will be cheering for l'il Mitchie and the pissers.
They've not uttered one word about that on any broadcast I've watched. Too much $ involved. Professional sports sweep this stuff and worse (see NFL) under the rug on a routine basis.
The NHL sold it's soul to the Devil when they signed up with gambling companys. Corrupt, biased officials get the teams who the league wants through to finals. Vegas is one, guaranteed Carolina will be the other. I'm almost ready to quit watching NHL hockey.

Also Habs have only 2 wins at the Bell so far...each game 3 of the first two series.

Kap out, Veleno in.
ReplyDeleteMeh. JV did ok when he entered the lineup last time I guess.
DeleteShould be Saku with the torch, but if they stick to cup winners, who will we see?
ReplyDeleteI'm still hoping to see #33.
Yvon Lambert?
DeleteSteve Shutt?
Still lots of the 70's guys around.
Maybe Vinnie Damphousse?
Anybody but mario tremblay
DeleteIf he was healthy enough I'd have Jacques Demers carry the torCH !
DeleteYeah, no Bluet.
DeleteMarie Philippe Poulin is my guess. Walter Cup counts.
DeleteChelios was at the Grand Prix. Maybe he's the guy.
DeleteTorch has to have Cup pedegree. St Patrick? Hold on boys. Still belieber in destiny. Prove me wrong.
ReplyDeleteHe would be the #33 I referred to.
DeleteTo the Habs:
ReplyDeletePlease score the first goal.
And the second.
Preferably the third.
Please run Taylor Hall, knee or head, either is fine.
Heading out to trivia, should be home in time for puck drop but not the talking heads.
That's a good thing.
8pm start
Delete9pm AST.
Delete930pm for Newhookland.
Apologies to The Offspring
ReplyDeleteBad Habit

ReplyDeleteThat one is for Miles.
ReplyDeleteMore shitty D in their own zone
ReplyDeleteHow’s bout dem refs
ReplyDeleteThey're being out hustled and out muscled.
ReplyDeleteIf only they had a 6'4" 240lb d-man they could put out there to deliver some punishment.
Canes have a relentless, aggressive forecheck. Which means there has to be safe outlets somewhere, perhaps up the middle, even if that's dangerous.
ReplyDeleteLane !

ReplyDeleteIt’ll be called back
ReplyDeleteThat's coming back
ReplyDeleteAh, Dobber, bad penalty to take but at least it shook up Staal pretty good.
ReplyDeleteOn to OT.
ReplyDeleteAnd unlike last time, I'm not going to walk the dog just yet. Sorry, Charlie.
I'm gonna give it a shot. I don't wake up for work for another 6 hours.
ReplyDeleteOne thing's for sure: poor Kapanen won't mess up the OT tonight.
ReplyDeleteGYFR3PHG!!!
This has the feel of a game that cpild go to like 3 overtimes.
ReplyDeleteGYFR3G3OTHG!!
ReplyDeleteI did not know about that 10-minute into OT icing exception.
ReplyDeleteI think they have holes in their sticks.
ReplyDeleteThey look severely outmatched.
ReplyDeleteThat's too bad. Dobeš deserved better.
ReplyDeleteDidn’t deserve to win this one.
ReplyDeleteBrutal! Team looks spent. Too many screw ups leaving their zone... no shooting... just a train wreck of a game plan rinse/repeat
ReplyDeleteIt is time for me to admit my prediction of both Habs and Avs winning in 5 was less than astute.

ReplyDeleteAndersen is playing an .800 game and the Habs can't get 10 shots a period. That needs to change or this won't go into June...

Hart may prefer a 6 or 7 on 1. But only a minute long interview because then it gets weird.
