So one of the benefits we CHerish, for having fought valiant battles, is freedom of speeCH.So, to all the asshole leafools that ripped the Habs organization for not following their team's supposed masterful lead and have a Remembrance ceremony like they did last Saturday night, three things; 1. fuck you, 2. watCH tonight's pre-game, 3. fuck you.
Well said, moeman! Love the book opened to display the pages of "Flander's Field". The suddenly- patriotic leaf, milking it for all it's worth. They're cashing in on their proximity of a tragedy and probably wouldn't give a shit otherwise, their marketing dept just loves it.
Great job moe. I echo your sentiments.Go Habs!
fuck the leafs and the sentiment you cant support the troops if you disagree with the mission.
I need a puppy to cuddle right frigging now! Been sick as a dog on this vacation, only starting to feel human again. Gonna listen to the game tonight.
Be well buddy!
Feel better, Moey, it really sucks to be sick on vacation, companies should allow a do-over.
Thanks Juce, out of 52 weeks of the year it had to be these two. Grrrrr. Beyond frustrating.
Get well!In Europe if you are sick on your va kay, you do get a do over, socialism rules!
Get well soon Moey!
Go Habs Go!
The Jets had their rookie dinner then partied Sunday at a bar on St Laurent and were spotted walking around Monday 'hungover' carrying oodles of Eska bottles, some with bags of 'em, 1 player had 2 in each hand.http://25stanley.com/les-joueurs-des-jets-de-winnipeg-ont-soif.html
So is the poppy thing a Canadian thing or do other countries do it?Go Habs
Poppies are big time in the UK this year...The Tower of London has an exhibition with 888,000+ ceramic poppies planted all around the castle - try this link http://dld.bz/d2abs or google it - I work across the river from it and it is amazing
BREAKING: MoeMan traded to Dallars for Gonchar
He's 40yrs old and in the last year of his $5M contract.
Are we getting Gonchar circa 2002?
BrianWilde @BWildeCTVMy phone just blew up! First reaction is Bergevin does it yet again. An extra forward gone in Moen for depth on D and help on PP in Gonchar.
@chester Pretty much all the Commonwealth uses the poppy for respect/remembrance. Check out the Tower of London's installation of 800,000+ poppies, one for each of the British/Commonwealth/Empire war dead in the Great War.
It's awesome, made of ceramic and was supposed to be taken down tomorrow but so many people have visited they may extend. The last poppy was put in on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.
Gonchar...Hmmm...methinks DGMB knows something we don't - 5 mil is quite a hit on the cap...but he's a hard player to play against if I recall - so that's good...
Maybe he's not finished. omg, would RBQ be going the other way?
Okay so who is the new Moeman? Not Gonchar, lets call him Gandolf?
Travis Moen: "I'm not surprise. I was not part of top 12. It was time to move on." Stars are keeping 400 000$ of Sergei Gonchar salary in that trade. So Gonchar cap hit in MTL will be 4.6M$.
@LouisJean_TVAFollow@DallasStars GM, Jim Nill says "Montreal is built to win the Stanley Cup. We didn't want to hold Gonchar back."
A bit pricey but GonCHar still has a great PP savviness and a good shot.Suggestion for nickname, Arctic as in CHar!
Apparently DGMB had talks with Dallas over CHar if they didn't come to terms with Vodkov. Talks began between the 2 teams about a week ago.
*again* about a week ago.
I wonder if this also had something to do with Vodkov's response when he was asked about his chemistry with Gilbert.
So he's not gonna be in the lineup tonight then...?
Gonchar is scheduled to arrive in Montreal tomorrow night.
Asked about playing internationally with Vodkov what does he think joining him in Montreal? Says he always liked Vodkov.
First and foremost, lest we forget. Though I often think about it, this is the day I really think about my dad and how awful the war and D-Day specifically must have been. He lost his best friend on Juno Beach. He never spoke of the war - was a kind and gentle soul.
Amen Saint P...I just re-read the Flanders Fileds passage at the top of the blog today. And I thought about how it felt to stand in the window of my office this morning looking across at the poppies at the Tower of London and watching as they fired the cannon salute across the Thames. They read out another 200 names of men who died and a 13 year old cadet planted the 888,246th ceramic poppy at the 11th minute of the 11th hour of the 11th day of November and of London fell silent. It is a moment in my life I will never forget.
Good stuff. I expect the Habs to do justice to those that fought and lost their lives for all of us.
This day always touches my heart.
Loving the song of the day btw Moeman. U2 is a band I hated when they first came out but as I aged, I grew into their music and now I really like them. I was a very happy I-tunes subscriber whn I got my free download of their new album. It really is good.
I normally don't subscribe to anything Christmassy before Remembrance Day, but GMMB has outdone himself, first RBQ and now Moen. I'm not sure about the 40 year old Gonchar - haven't seen him play this year. I suspect, as they say, there's more to come. It's great having a GM that recognizes issues and isn't afraid to make changes during the season.
I sense Rick Dudley has a lot to do with DGMB's final decisions.
That was Bergevin's first great move, getting Dudley out of that shithole toronto. Dudley must look at the 'management' of that franchise, the hiring of an 'analytics genius', etc and think "Thank fuck I'm outta there!"
Its obvious that Moeman, RBQ and DDD were the weak links in the CH chain. If I am DDD is am making tiny little poops today.
One more revelation about the CHar trade. Every defenceman who ever played for MT will play for him once again in Montreal before he is fired.
Merci MOEmaN for your time as a Hab.
He served them well, best of luck, MOEmaN.
Amen brothers and sisters. There was a time when he was a very solid cog in the maCHine and did his job, and did it well.
Yes he had CHacater and scored some nice goals. He got Concunt Crunch for the Habs and thats something we will never forget.
RBQ: I have to get my confidence back, gotta take it like a man, work my butt off and get back.
ArtiCHoke and black olive pizza, Dao, CHudleigh's CHerry!
Mom of 29 hosted her book club today, meaning yours truly gets the leftovers. Party sandwiches, salads, desserts, that I will be eating for a week. I'm washing it down with a fine new Irish whiskey that's just arrived in Quebec, Teeling Small Batch. It's 46%, I may be in trouble
Will you be dieting next week?
goes without saying
Travis Moen scored a beauty of a goal against Pittsburgh in the spring of 2010 when the Habs eliminated the Pens in Game 7. Guess which defenceman let Travis blow by him to score that goal?http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=zQBvLY30mXYThanks Travis, of all the players Gainey signed in 2009 only Squid was the better signing.
It appears as if this game is on TSN3 (as part of the Jets package), SN as part of the normal NHL package, and RDS. 3 different broadcasts! What a time to be alive!
Does that mean the game is in 3D?
Great job as usual moeman
Merci lehab. Great to see you pop in.
PFK will play his 300th game tonight.
Looks like Bowman plays tonight.
Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!!!

that's good official reporting juce!
We may have to rename her Macjuce, she is our true insider.
Well the TSN3 Jets feed looks blacked out here in Mtl. Literally blacked out, as there is a black screen on the channelGYFHG
Is your tv on?
That's my sons regiment!!!
Awesome anthem singing!
no goal i heard the whistle 10 seconds ago
Crap it was off-side, only the leafs get those.
No 's' on leaf(s).
Ref should penalise himself for holding.
I guess Drayson Bowman isn't related to Scotty eh? So it wouldn't be appropriate to say Bowman was beamed up from Hamilton for the game? OK, I won't say it.
Kane is not able.
Good one, brother.
sending RBQ to purgatory and getting rid of MOEmaN hasn't really sparked the offense
oh PFK yeesh
That wasn't on PK. Markov wasn't where he was supposed to be. Same for the whole Power Play.
I am convinced we need a 40 year old offensive D to fix the PP. oh wait!
That whole powerplay, and every turnover was because Markov wasn't where he was supposed to be. He needs to get his head out of his a$$.
MT2 started Gilbert on that last PP. Geoff Molson, send your Learjet to Dallas.
Let's go boys make them pay.Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!!!
I am forced to watch the TSN Jets broadcast, and they compared the Bell Centre to the MTS Centre in Winnipeg. What a joke,it's not close, even if they were implying the atmosphere.
Next thing they will be comparing nightlife.
No, I think they are smart enough to realize we roll up the sidewalks at 8 pm
There's sidewalks in the tunnels?
Good morning/evening/whathaveyou. Lest we forget, brothers and sisters!Home sick today. Not terribly sick, but want a day of rest nonetheless. I deserve it. Habs looked pretty good there in the 1st, at least better than most of their 1st periods. That has to be the first time they got 2 PPs in one period. Not that it makes a difference.GO HABS GO!
Get well Oman, your students need you!
Meh, they're fine. They basically raise themselves these days. Thanks internet!
Just wondering if anyone listened to Chris Nilan's radio show after the Habs game in Vancouver. Kerry Fraser called in and talked about the hit on Emelin, the non-call and what transpired in OT. He basically said the NHL has a vendetta against the Habs and it's totally unfair. He sounded especially pissed about the non-call on the pick on Malholtra, who he called the most honest player in the league. He was also not pleased about the non-call on the head hit to Emelin. Interesting listen, you can find it on TSN's Montreal page.
Delayed by the Guardians of the Galaxy. IMHO its right up there with Fifth Element and Star Wars. I have a perfect HD quaity stream from TSN3, thank you Mr Rodgers.GO HABS GO
Great Movie, GotG. Groooooooooooooooooooooot.
I've sent my resumé to BurgerVan letting him know I could be their PP coach. Keep this under wraps - i don't want it getting back to the Habs and screwing me out of a job, but here's my secret to a successful power play.1. Shoot the puck.2. Hit the net with aforementioned puck. Now, remember...shhhhh.
Oh sure, but that'll take half a season to implement!
Smoking Pot is dangerous, who new. When they say the pot is so much stronger today I really doubt it. Sure the bunk was bunk but Alcapolgo Gold, Thai Stick, Black Hash from Afganistian and Jamacian Oil they were fucking awessome in any year.
These pathetic power plays... it only means it is harder for Winnipeg to score. The Habs never will.
Sekac backwards is Cakes!
cakeS! CHocolate cakeS?
What do you know, give Lego some competent wingers and he scores goals. New first line?
crap over the glass
That's not easy to do.
tie domi retired a while back.
I hate to say this but Scott Cherrey was the linesman in the last fuck up by the refs last time the played the jets and turned it into a pinball game.
Earlier this season the Sabers beat the Sharks in San Jose. Tonight they're down by 3 in Miami. Window is closing in that town. The greatest dynasty that never was.
Though the Pens are giving them a run for their money.
Put Lego line on the first PP
KidG got shoved into the goalie, shouldn't have been a whistle.
Ref was worried about the camera.
These guys couldn't score in a Mexican cathouse with a pocket full of fifties.
lowry elbowed (Y)
T F S™
Cakes is way more delicious to watch than RBQ.
For Fuck Sake PFK, shoot the fucking puck!
Oh, PK, you have to shoot that thing.
Many more of those PK turnovers and eMTy is gonna nail his flashy ass to the bench.... 9 million dollars or not.
When DDD moves on I think he deserves a nice tribute, but it may be a short one.
Read one of the stupidest most braindead comments in a while today. A pathetic Jets fan claims that the Habs 1970s Cup wins were due to the WHA having the better players. The pinhead went so far as to suggest that the Avco Cup winners would've taken Lafleur and Co. and that what amounts to today's Habs hate grew because of the Molson vs. Carling brewery battles.
Pinhead is a moron.. There is no Habs hate here, probably more Habs fans here than anywhere else outside of Quebec
I figured as much. Sounds like a frustrated WHA fan who cheered the Nords out of spite. Did Carling make a good beer?
Carling was pretty good
Fucking Toronto Sports Network does not even show the Lego goal, blowjobs for the Jets and then Yoppie.
Ol' GaunCH will save the day when he gets here. Take that broons.
FWIW, CHar as a sens player, played well vs. chiapet's team.
One of the benefits of the new NHL TV deal (and there aren't many) is that insidregger has been pretty much shut up and left to comment on dry scraping and leaf 4th liners. I haven't watched a single game on lnet.
HANG ON BOYS
SN had a funny graphic of Hab players younger than Gonchar's draft year. CHar was drafted 1992, 4-5 Habs were born that year, gCHuck 1994.
Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!!!Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!!!
Shut the OLE the fuck up.
Kane's a dirty player.
and Kane did not get a penalty because?
because he's not a Hab.
gCHuck with great Sitrap!!!
Ref should penalise himself for obstruction. That's 2 now.
Our shutdown system, ice the puck and let TFS stop it.
New fool the ref (I know, easy to do) attempt at a penalty is to push KidG into your goalie.
No chocula for you!
What a great setup that was by SekaCH to Leggo.
Chokula play book being dusted of....
Put the dust back on it!
this is some quality chokula-esque hanging on
lower the Choucula like shell
Roy-esque goalie pulling
Malhotra is $
Do we have a name for him? I feel like there's something there with Nicholas Cage. You know...because of the movie...Faceoff....
Maurice doing a Roy with the EN.
keeping cakes down
He fucking DOVE
DIVE!!! Holy shit what a dive!
just because there was a 5 second delay between the contact and the fall doesn't mean it was a dive people!/sarcasm
Karma for that fucking dive
That's what you get, Kane, for being a dirty ass.
SuperpleXXXe and nice play Patches
nice end of game gooning Jets
Their coach learned that in tranna.
Jets have nothing to complain about. They got into MTL on Sunday night, ate well and played hard away from the ice for a few nights.
Another TFS in the win coloumStay classy Peg!
Bruins-esque end of game gooning
After all that he sucker punches Lego, give him a misconduct.
Love the linesman elbowing Weaver in the face, but let's the Jets guy continue to give Eller shots.
Wooot!!!Shut-out for TFS, well-deserved.
A key win. The two dirtiest teams in the league coming up next.
Well deserved shut out for TFS.
