  1. So, the scum at snet decided to air an official hnic game last night on a Friday with their fucked up biased panel because it was their leaf, who aren't playing tonight. Pure fucking scum. Thanks for slapping their team around Sens.

    1. Does this mean we get a completely new and different crew doing the Habs-Sens tonight?

      Hey, a guy can dream...

It just means mclame has haharudy and bieksa on the panel with Jennifer (boo hoo narcos is hurt) botcherall instead of dumb as a doorknob stewie and bourne.

I read an interesting article today by Pat Hickey about the bankruptcy of Bally Sports in the USA, seems many NHL and MLB teams won't be getting paid for their broadcasting rights. Seems like the future of sports broadcasting will be streaming services with many people cutting the cord with cable TV. The next few years will be interesting with scumnet's NHL deal finishing in 2026. I can't wait for that. I have a deal with Bell until Sept. 2024, maybe I'll finally pull the plug with that despicable company.

I was wondering why there was a hnit game on a Friday night. I only saw that last 10 minutes or so but was happy to see the putrid leaf get beat up. The fucked up biased 'panel' didn't have much to say really other than Stewart stating the leaf didn't start on time. What?

I will not believe there is a game until the drop the puck live.

How many times will the leaf get mentioned tonight?

....and of course the scum start the show with the Jets. They got a few clips of their putrid leaf into the intro as well. Habs Sens they don't give a fuck.

  6. It's fucked up enough with all of the gambling ads and segments within the pregame and intermissions, but what makes it extra fucked up that they are for 'Ontario only' and on national broadcasts.

So not only do I find them atrocious and give no fucks, but they do not even apply to me or 70% of the rest.of Canada (est. pop)

I think we can all agree the Hockey Night In Canada broadcast is now just a regional leaf broadcast, ruined by the scum who run snet. All this betting shite is disgusting, I mute the tv immediately. Hey look, the 'panel' are more interested in the National Jets broadcast!

  16. Thought I'd spin the ol' tank-a-thon wheel this morning and first try moved the FLA pick to 2nd with the Habs picking 8th. I could live with that. That Bedard kid isn't very big. He'll probably fall to 8 a la Caufield.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. the Maritimer1:15 PM

I've spun it a few times lately and can get #2 which I would be ecstatic with. Bedard is the best player no doubt but is projected as a winger which is fine. I'd like that big center (Fantilli) or the big power forward (Carlsson). Montreal still has too many smaller players, CC, Farrell, Lep or RHP if he sticks. Get MOAR bigger...

      Delete
    2. the Maritimer1:20 PM

Got #2 with the third spin. Even if the Habs don't move up, Smith, Sale and Dvorsky are in that 6-7-8 range and are all 6' or bigger. I can live with that or, if Michkov falls...

  22. About the two NFL games;

    1. 49ers fucked themselves over but were also fucked over by the refs.
    2. Patrick Mahomes (bro has Montreal Expos lineage) is the most fun to watch pro athlete.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I thought there were suspect.calls in both games but in the end the Niners and.their 4th stringer didn't stand a chance. And some questionable calls and non-calls in the AFC game but Cincy really did themselves in with penalties...the final one acting as the final nail.
I love watching Mahomes play...as ive mentioned, it doesn't hurt that he's been on my fantasy team since he entered the league. Hope he's healthy in 2 weeks, will make for a hell of a Superbowl.

I don't get all this bullshit trade talk involving Josh Anderson. Fans seem to forget a team needs a few good veterans around to insulate all the young guns. If I'm Kent Hughes no way am I trading Josh. Sure, he takes the odd night off and he won't score 40 but he brings a lot of intangibles plus, he's a fucking leaf killer. His family have always been Habs fans. What's not to like?

I wouldn't necessarily trade Monahan either. With his health problems so far I don't think KH will get a first round pick so I would offer him a one year 'prove it' deal if he will take it.

I wouldn't rush a deal for Edmundson either, keep him for another year.

All the rest of the junk players nobody wants, drouin, dad, hoff, army let them walk or trade for pennies on the dollar. I think drouin is done as an NHL player, he would be lucky to get a job in the Swiss elite league. I hope he's saved some money form the last 6 years.

Seems like most fans are in agreement, this all star stuff is a marketing shitshow. I have not watched the all star game since it was East vs West and I remember Owen Nolan pointing to where he was going to shoot on Hasek and scoring the goal. How long ago was that?

The NHL seems to not care about their long time fans anymore. Rivalries between teams are a thing of the past as they don't play each other enough to create one. I miss the days of Lucic vs Emelin or Weiss. And I can't stand those trash reverse sweaters. Montreal has to be in red or white, no other options. I think the league should look at what the NFL does regarding divisional play. Go back to 3 divisions in each conference and omit playing one division every third year. I don't care if I see Arizona or any of the California teams every year. I want more Boston, New York, Detroit, leaf etc. during the regular season.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I agree.
4 games vs the other teams in the east = 60 games. 1 vs the west each year (alternating home/way each year) = 16 games. Total 76 games. Maybe the winter sport can finish before July FFS! But Bettman and the almighty $ will never allow fewer regular season games.

      And I agree with Sid about going back to 1 v 8, 2 v 7, etc

Stirring the pot here .... let's say Montreal wins the draft lottery (again) and gets the 1OA pick (I can just hear Gary now...) Kent Hughes steps up to the microphone and says (en francais) "the Montreal Canadiens are proud to select: from Michigan State Adam Fantilli!!" Does Connor Bedard give them the death stare? Meanwhile the Blue Jackets are soiling their pants as Bedard falls into their laps.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I actually think the Habs will be drafting Fantilli,.but from the 2nd spot.

I do wonder if there is any price and mean ANY...that would pry Bedard from the team with pick #1. And how far would a GM be willing to go?

Hypothetical: picks #2 and 10, Suzuki, Guhle for Bedard. I'm not saying this is a good idea or that it's remotely possible, but IF a GM was faced with that type of offer, do they say no thanks?

      Delete
    2. steve6:34 PM

You have to take Bedard at number one unless you are Nostradamus. Call of the Wild is alreay saying Slaf is a Kid Ko. My main worry is the Whiskey Contract. God Dammit Kid sign for the same as Nature. If he does and we can hold the line at 8 M for 8 players, that is 64 million. Plan the parade

      Delete
    3. Anonymous6:39 PM

To answer your hypothetical question, no team below Montreal in the standings would part with Bedard because of where they are in their respective rebuilds. It wouldn't do the Habs any good to part with all that talent for one guy. I will be ecstatic if the Habs get #2.

      Delete
  52. the Maritimer6:43 PM

I think CC will sign for Dylan Cozens money, about 8 X $7mil. As for Slaf, he will be mediocre at best.

A commenter at EOTP came up with the appropriate name for JD .... Drou-mez. Looking at the lines at practice today, Drou-mez on the 4th line with journeyman Belzile and 'energy guy' Pez, wow, like I said I hope JD has saved some money over the years, he will be out of work next season unless he goes to Europe. Look at a kid like RHP, put on the first line because he is fearless going to the dirty areas.

Looking at these lines, a bottom 3 finish is a real possibility. Bottom 5 very likely.

      How about this next season:

      Slaf Dvo Farrell
      Heineman Evans RHP

    2. I'm still not sold on PLD though he's having a great year. I think it would be amazing to have a Quebecois superstar that could handle the media when times are tough. Not sure he's the guy. I'd love it if he was though. And if they go after him, I think he's a UFA after next season. Wait til then.

That's a nice lineup but not a championship one by far. And I doubt they'll move Lep so unless he's on the permanent IR he'll need the PLD RW spot for one year at least. Maybe RHP turns into that missing piece on the #1 line and is that local star the fans crave!?

Reminds me of another prima donna we gave up a stud D for.
Wonder about the room. When a guy puts himself above the team to force things it's not good.
The room is important. No disrespect to Nature but he's not BBQ, not yet anyway.
The Habs are a swirling dervish of talent dead wood and potential all mixed in together.
Have faith in HUGO as they have said before that they value character as much as talent.
Dunno how much character PLD will bring or take away.
