So, the scum at snet decided to air an official hnic game last night on a Friday with their fucked up biased panel because it was their leaf, who aren't playing tonight. Pure fucking scum. Thanks for slapping their team around Sens.
It just means mclame has haharudy and bieksa on the panel with Jennifer (boo hoo narcos is hurt) botcherall instead of dumb as a doorknob stewie and bourne.
I read an interesting article today by Pat Hickey about the bankruptcy of Bally Sports in the USA, seems many NHL and MLB teams won't be getting paid for their broadcasting rights. Seems like the future of sports broadcasting will be streaming services with many people cutting the cord with cable TV. The next few years will be interesting with scumnet's NHL deal finishing in 2026. I can't wait for that. I have a deal with Bell until Sept. 2024, maybe I'll finally pull the plug with that despicable company.
I was wondering why there was a hnit game on a Friday night. I only saw that last 10 minutes or so but was happy to see the putrid leaf get beat up. The fucked up biased 'panel' didn't have much to say really other than Stewart stating the leaf didn't start on time. What?
....and of course the scum start the show with the Jets. They got a few clips of their putrid leaf into the intro as well. Habs Sens they don't give a fuck.
Hnit - Yeah, so because their fucking leaf ain’t playing, let’s give these fucks a listen - Don’t forget their leaf ain’t playing - Fuck your gambling ads - Decent video clip, goals and checks on soft leaf - Ex-leaf Stewie and leaf hack bourne, two 🤡s - Ex-leaf employee bourne goes straight to a leaf comparison, fucking 🤡 - Botterill is a complete waste of breath, what a moron - Why are they doing Winnipeg first ? Is it their ‘national’ game ? - Side note, I think stewie is a braindead idiot - Beck on the ice, let’s switch to Giroux - Side note, never liked Giroux, ever, overrated - Botterill is a complete waste of breath, what a pinheaded moron - Stewie is a complete and utter fucking 🤡 - Self-proclaimed ´math geek’ bourne is a useless POS - Dach, best Hab this season, given 20 seconds - Stewie talks Habs, STFU 🤡 - They go to gambling, fucking assholes - Sens pre-game arena, deader than the leaf morgue - Fuck you cabbie, zero integrity media scum - Botterill is a complete waste of breath, what a pathetic moron - Gambling scum, includes the sickest of them all, mclame - …
It's fucked up enough with all of the gambling ads and segments within the pregame and intermissions, but what makes it extra fucked up that they are for 'Ontario only' and on national broadcasts.
So not only do I find them atrocious and give no fucks, but they do not even apply to me or 70% of the rest.of Canada (est. pop)
I really love how big MontyBeau is in his net. Confident and squaring to the shot, anticipating the play, technically pretty sound, almost TFS-like, but without the astute puck-handling.
I think we can all agree the Hockey Night In Canada broadcast is now just a regional leaf broadcast, ruined by the scum who run snet. All this betting shite is disgusting, I mute the tv immediately. Hey look, the 'panel' are more interested in the National Jets broadcast!
Lucky for me I'm too old and stupid to even know what all this betting shit is about. I haven't bought a lottery ticket in probably 10 years or more. Waste of money...
Watching the French feed with the sound off... Not a huge impact action game but not bad. Been impressed with Monty once again. His movement is calculated and intentional and the result is that he's making saves easily because he is in the right place a lot more. I'm telling ya boys and girls... Monty is the fucking future in nets.
Thought I'd spin the ol' tank-a-thon wheel this morning and first try moved the FLA pick to 2nd with the Habs picking 8th. I could live with that. That Bedard kid isn't very big. He'll probably fall to 8 a la Caufield.
I've spun it a few times lately and can get #2 which I would be ecstatic with. Bedard is the best player no doubt but is projected as a winger which is fine. I'd like that big center (Fantilli) or the big power forward (Carlsson). Montreal still has too many smaller players, CC, Farrell, Lep or RHP if he sticks. Get MOAR bigger...
Got #2 with the third spin. Even if the Habs don't move up, Smith, Sale and Dvorsky are in that 6-7-8 range and are all 6' or bigger. I can live with that or, if Michkov falls...
No $ on it but picking Chiefs and Eagles. Bengals though could easily win AFC if Mahomes isn't at least at 80%. Hell Niners could win too. So yeah like I said, no money on these games.
1. 49ers fucked themselves over but were also fucked over by the refs. 2. Patrick Mahomes (bro has Montreal Expos lineage) is the most fun to watch pro athlete.
I thought there were suspect.calls in both games but in the end the Niners and.their 4th stringer didn't stand a chance. And some questionable calls and non-calls in the AFC game but Cincy really did themselves in with penalties...the final one acting as the final nail. I love watching Mahomes play...as ive mentioned, it doesn't hurt that he's been on my fantasy team since he entered the league. Hope he's healthy in 2 weeks, will make for a hell of a Superbowl.
These guys look like they can really use an All-Star break. Nature should pull out of it and take the rest. Say he's got a hip flexor or something. I'll vouch.
Habs are 11-8 at home in their red sweaters. 0-6-1 in the smurf pukes. If they win all those blue games they are tied with the Pens for the final wildcard spot. Or better? I can't remember all the teams they lost to in those damned things.
Anyway into the break with a 9.5% chance at #1. Tied for fourth best chance.
If you already did not love Wifi enough to dump Rogers and Bell forever. His vinete fixing cars and loving food will make you surrender. This guy is really salt of the earth. Having grown up with knowledge of the Hammer its like Hells Kitchen in Canada. Ask the D man who played for the bulldogs.
It's going to be a nice 9 day break from watching our beloved team losing games they have to lose. Might be time to break out the 2009 DVD set and watch some past glories.
In for a quick and wild ride this weekend. 6am on Saturday forecast is -25C with a -40 wind chill. By 6pm on Sunday +4C and showers. Mrs Pad and I rarely go out and Saturday is the one day we have plans to meet some old friends...the hermit in me wants to cancel but I'm not allowed :(
I don't get all this bullshit trade talk involving Josh Anderson. Fans seem to forget a team needs a few good veterans around to insulate all the young guns. If I'm Kent Hughes no way am I trading Josh. Sure, he takes the odd night off and he won't score 40 but he brings a lot of intangibles plus, he's a fucking leaf killer. His family have always been Habs fans. What's not to like?
I wouldn't necessarily trade Monahan either. With his health problems so far I don't think KH will get a first round pick so I would offer him a one year 'prove it' deal if he will take it.
I wouldn't rush a deal for Edmundson either, keep him for another year.
All the rest of the junk players nobody wants, drouin, dad, hoff, army let them walk or trade for pennies on the dollar. I think drouin is done as an NHL player, he would be lucky to get a job in the Swiss elite league. I hope he's saved some money form the last 6 years.
Jane you ignorant slut. Nature is all they need. He lead a Jr team to the promised land. I dont believe all the vetrens love needed to make a stanley cup baby. All you need is a team better than the rest. Trade everyone over 25 and let GOD sort it out.
Seems like most fans are in agreement, this all star stuff is a marketing shitshow. I have not watched the all star game since it was East vs West and I remember Owen Nolan pointing to where he was going to shoot on Hasek and scoring the goal. How long ago was that?
The NHL seems to not care about their long time fans anymore. Rivalries between teams are a thing of the past as they don't play each other enough to create one. I miss the days of Lucic vs Emelin or Weiss. And I can't stand those trash reverse sweaters. Montreal has to be in red or white, no other options. I think the league should look at what the NFL does regarding divisional play. Go back to 3 divisions in each conference and omit playing one division every third year. I don't care if I see Arizona or any of the California teams every year. I want more Boston, New York, Detroit, leaf etc. during the regular season.
I agree. 4 games vs the other teams in the east = 60 games. 1 vs the west each year (alternating home/way each year) = 16 games. Total 76 games. Maybe the winter sport can finish before July FFS! But Bettman and the almighty $ will never allow fewer regular season games.
And I agree with Sid about going back to 1 v 8, 2 v 7, etc
Hey, steve's 99 luft chinese spy balloon got shot down by Uncle Sam today in Myrtle Beach SC. I wonder what they will find in it when they recover it? Fortune cookies?
Hot summer nights and Dangerzone playing loud, Marvrick takes the shot at 20 miles, yes the birds were only 8 miles high. Chiacoms got nothin.
Not that there is anything wrong with that, but has anyone else noticed that along with our retro sweaters, the Kraken sweaters and especailly whatever they were wearing at the all star game seems to be designed by Toller Cranston.
What strange demeted person made the commet above? Have you heard SB Nation is closing down end of the month. I love eyes on the prize, its the second best Habs site in the universe. I cant live with Yahoo Sports. Its because I am a Yahoo.
The "FRANK" callsigns appear to be a reference to a WWI pilot, Frank Luke, the first airman to receive the Medal of Honor after shooting down over a dozen aircraft, including 10 spy balloons, in just eight days during World War I.
Stirring the pot here .... let's say Montreal wins the draft lottery (again) and gets the 1OA pick (I can just hear Gary now...) Kent Hughes steps up to the microphone and says (en francais) "the Montreal Canadiens are proud to select: from Michigan State Adam Fantilli!!" Does Connor Bedard give them the death stare? Meanwhile the Blue Jackets are soiling their pants as Bedard falls into their laps.
I actually think the Habs will be drafting Fantilli,.but from the 2nd spot.
I do wonder if there is any price and mean ANY...that would pry Bedard from the team with pick #1. And how far would a GM be willing to go?
Hypothetical: picks #2 and 10, Suzuki, Guhle for Bedard. I'm not saying this is a good idea or that it's remotely possible, but IF a GM was faced with that type of offer, do they say no thanks?
You have to take Bedard at number one unless you are Nostradamus. Call of the Wild is alreay saying Slaf is a Kid Ko. My main worry is the Whiskey Contract. God Dammit Kid sign for the same as Nature. If he does and we can hold the line at 8 M for 8 players, that is 64 million. Plan the parade
To answer your hypothetical question, no team below Montreal in the standings would part with Bedard because of where they are in their respective rebuilds. It wouldn't do the Habs any good to part with all that talent for one guy. I will be ecstatic if the Habs get #2.
So Mrs Pad and I are heading to Ottawa next week to visit my daughter for 5 days. She texted me on the weekend to tell me she won 2 tickets at work to the Sens- Blues game on the Saturday night. Free parking, free buffet...I said thanks but I'll pass. Not sure there is another team aside from the Habs I'd sit through vs the Sens.
So it looks like the motion is working for us. Habs are sinking and the bottom teams are picking up the pace. We could be in for a top five pick. Fingers crossed. Now if we could just unload our dead wood away we go. Go Habs
A commenter at EOTP came up with the appropriate name for JD .... Drou-mez. Looking at the lines at practice today, Drou-mez on the 4th line with journeyman Belzile and 'energy guy' Pez, wow, like I said I hope JD has saved some money over the years, he will be out of work next season unless he goes to Europe. Look at a kid like RHP, put on the first line because he is fearless going to the dirty areas.
I'm still not sold on PLD though he's having a great year. I think it would be amazing to have a Quebecois superstar that could handle the media when times are tough. Not sure he's the guy. I'd love it if he was though. And if they go after him, I think he's a UFA after next season. Wait til then.
That's a nice lineup but not a championship one by far. And I doubt they'll move Lep so unless he's on the permanent IR he'll need the PLD RW spot for one year at least. Maybe RHP turns into that missing piece on the #1 line and is that local star the fans crave!?
I am also not quite on the PLD bus. He seems like a fussy girl having forced his way off teams. Reminds me of another prima donna we gave up a stud D for. Wonder about the room. When a guy puts himself above the team to force things it's not good. The room is important. No disrespect to Nature but he's not BBQ, not yet anyway. The Habs are a swirling dervish of talent dead wood and potential all mixed in together. Have faith in HUGO as they have said before that they value character as much as talent. Dunno how much character PLD will bring or take away. Go Habs
Harris does he even have a nick signs for two years at close to min wage. Should have signed him for 8 at 2 M. I can never understand why I am not the GM. Good signing, he will be 3rd pairing on the cup winning team. The first pair will be Math is hard and x. The second pair will be x and x. The third pair will be Wifi and Harriss.

Oh, that is a great point !
DeleteOh look there is Kevin Weekes with an in-game ad and he actually says "Hey Ontario..."...again this is a national broadcast FFS!
DeleteAnother clown cashing in. The Ontario thing might be because it is legal there ?
DeleteAhh fucking Cuntbert and Simpleton...
ReplyDeleteFucking clowns.

55 - Michael Pezzetta 27 - Jonathan Drouin 60 - Alex Belzile
Not much talent in that lineup.
DeleteHow about this next season:
CC Suzuki PLD
Dach Monahan Anderson
Slaf Dvo Farrell
Heineman Evans RHP
I'm still not sold on PLD though he's having a great year. I think it would be amazing to have a Quebecois superstar that could handle the media when times are tough. Not sure he's the guy. I'd love it if he was though. And if they go after him, I think he's a UFA after next season. Wait til then.
DeleteThat's a nice lineup but not a championship one by far. And I doubt they'll move Lep so unless he's on the permanent IR he'll need the PLD RW spot for one year at least. Maybe RHP turns into that missing piece on the #1 line and is that local star the fans crave!?
I am also not quite on the PLD bus.
DeleteHe seems like a fussy girl having forced his way off teams.
Go Habs
if PLD will sign 7 for 8 I will sign him
DeleteHarris does he even have a nick signs for two years at close to min wage. Should have signed him for 8 at 2 M. I can never understand why I am not the GM. Good signing, he will be 3rd pairing on the cup winning team. The first pair will be Math is hard and x. The second pair will be x and x. The third pair will be Wifi and Harriss.
ReplyDeleteThe Goul and Math is hard.
DeleteHarris = Tweed
Delete2 x 1.4 is a good rate. Good signing.
I concur.
