DeleteI don't know how you can say that BEFORE the season. The guy obviously gained experience and maturity. He knows the business. He did "reorganize" the Pens to be a good team. Yes, having Crosby and Malkin in your lineup helps, of course, but having a good system too. If Therrien can adapt his system to the players he has and use their strengths, then the Habs will be ok.

DeleteDoug MacLean is right it is a very limited field. When Therrien is fired, and he will be, who's next, Julien? It will be like a merry-go-round of bilingual coaches, after Julien, Vigneault, after him Carbonneau, etc. until they start to dip in the QMJHL pool. I would have preferred Kirk Muller as HC but RDS would have hired assassins to take him out.
ReplyDeleteI think they would have accepted Muller, he was liked here. If things don't go well, and only time will tell, management will seriously have to re-consider the language issues and hire according to their "winning attitude" speech.
