Stay on top FHFers!
Habs have already played as many games in February than the bruins will the entire month. Both teams have 5 game road trips. The bruins are doing it now over 12 days with off days before and after, the Habs do it over 8 days with a game the night before. The leaf's longest trip is 3 games. In fact, their next two games are in Ottawa and Philly, then they don't do 2 in a row on the road again for 2 months. Must be nice.
ReplyDeleteI did the research after some leaf and bruin fan friends of mine (don't blame me I grew up behind enemy lines in Ontario!) were telling me the Habs have had it easy and will now fall in the standings. Of course leaf fans still think the refs are out to get them despite having the best PP-PK time in the league for several years running. It's hard to live in the same reality as people who have a Cup parade every year in February.
ReplyDeleteI hear you O-Man - My rant yesterday was in part formed by the 10 years spent, as you say, behind enemy lines. I do not miss that part of our great country one bit. My way of dealing was always to remind myself that it was only leaf fans talking and not actual hockey fans. I hadn't looked at the schedule but I'm not surprised at all. Buttman's arguement would always be that the scheduling challenges were similar for all teams, but isn't it funny how certain ones seem to have had all the luck.
DeleteNever mind - Onwards and upwards!
Moeman - Fab SF!! Great efforts and I must review it more once I'm not surrounded by non-hockey loving Englishmen - I sometimes forget that SF can be slightly NSFW depending on who is sitting next to you. "Yeah sure it's a hockey blog"
Go Habs Go!!
I still live behind enemy lines and within shot distance of Barfalo. The only thing that agravates me is the Toronto Star, they will report everthing, tiddlywinks but not a Montreal game.
DeleteTrap game, took their foot of the pedal in the 2nd, stopped moving their feet, blah, blah, blah. I figure if they can play at least .500 the rest of the way they should make the playoffs. I expect the Rags will be giving them some payback tomorrow night. Bob Cold will be ecstatic with a Ranger win. Meanwhile, a decimated Ottawa team awaits the glorious, Stanley Cup bound leaf.
ReplyDeleteOutstanding Sexy Friday, I hope 29 is not too hungover today.

ReplyDeleteGreat SF - it's takes the mind off the "losing to the fucking Islanders" pain.
ReplyDeleteWhile obsessing about how long can this losing streak go on, some CHuck to brighten the day.
ReplyDeleteJust to wet Steve's trading appetite, take a look at Jonny Huberdeau's sick penalty shot goal last night against the Phucktards at the CBC website. Even as a 16 year old for the Sea Dogs he was money in the bank in shootouts. I can't recall him missing, although I'm sure there was the odd time he didn't score.
ReplyDeleteNow, to make Steve even antsier, Jarmo Keikelainen the new GM for the BJ's, was the head scout for the St. Louis Blues when they drafted Lego 13th(?) overall and he even made the call at the podium instead of Larry Pleau (a former Hab in the 60's BTW). I'll bet GMMB will get a phone call regarding the Great Dane at some point, just inquiring, you know.
Man, Patches is some kind of player, he was great last night, making DD look pretty good too, still need a No. 1 center though.

DeleteI just checked their lineup, fuck there's not much there. You wouldn't get their own 1st pick but they have two others, I think LA's and the Rangers. I noticed they do have a defenceman named David Savard from St. Hyacinth Que. 6-2, 218lb and a right hand shot. He could even take Lego's number 81, the reverse of Serge Savard's 18. Played his junior hockey up the road in Moncton (can't stand those fuckers), plus the Ranger pick. OK. I'm sold!

ReplyDeleteSo what to do about our habbies. Its a team sport after all. Cheese he stinks, but Giant is the next smelly guy. He stinks, after that our roster is mostly smell free on the ice.
ReplyDeleteGiant is not Saku Koviu, Giant let PFK run wild. Giant may have to face up to his limitations. With all due respect this guy has been a wonderful smurf, a becon to smurfs everywhere, but his blue skin is fading, and into the reality of age and size he will fall, lets not scrape him up from the sidewalk.
DeleteI have some words for TFS. You play the odds like a riverboat gambler. Mostly you win, but you leave so much of the net open so often, its going to catch up to you. Stand up motherfucker and jive with the future
ReplyDeleteMy prediction for this team 2013, Stanley Cup

ReplyDeleteLonely tonight Steve?
ReplyDeleteGiant is struggling but we can't abandon him, he is still a veteran leader and can provide more than just scoring. RBQ was lazy on the backcheck last night on the tieing goal, he may need a kick in the butt.
No Stanley Cup this year but hopeful for a playoff appearance.
Watching "The Cave" on AMC, glad I didn't pay to see it in the theatre.
