I posted the pic of (Sirs) Patrick Stewart and Ian Flemming on facebook last night. One friend, a leaf fan, responded with "?", probably wondering where the picture came from. But I decided to pounce and responded:
As a Leaf fan you are probably unaware that it even exists, but the playoffs start today. You see, when hockey teams have a winning record they get to play each other in a 7 game series until one team is left. That team is awarded with a trophy called the Stanley Cup. Maybe one day Toronto will be able to participate in these playoffs so their fans can understand that the biggest thing to look fodward to in April isn't the draft lottery.
I didn't know because I didn't see it, but the Habs held a moment of silence for the recently passed assistant from the Sens. After the game, the Sens coach publicly threatens Habs players. The difference in level of class couldn't be more obvious.
I'm back at work - I lasted until the fun all began apparently - so I will watch the replay later on tonight. One game at a time biys! The Habs need now only need 15 more wins. Friday is going to be red hot!
Ok, I'll stop doing that so moe/29 don't have to keep making new posts.
Stone is such a little bitch. This is the first I've seen it in real time (I saw the slash on replay twice before, and maybe I was letting my bias get in the way then). That was a love tap. It's a penalty, but it's not 5 and a game. The fact is the refs where embarrassed that they let PK go with that high stick in the 1st and were just waiting to go after him.
Also, I'm not entirely sure Lego's stick even makes contact with Zinandawhatever. Maybe it glances his chin? Either way, he sold the shit out that one, too.
Now that Flynn has scored, I think he deserves a nickname. Flynn was Walter Jr.'s nickname on Breaking Bad, so I think we should start there. We could got with simply "Junior" or "Jr". He was also known to always be eating breakfast while on screen, so we could go with "Pancakes". Personally, I like Jr because it's quicker to type. But I'll leave it up to you guys. In any event,

Can you imagine a Breaking Bad Trailor park boys mash up, Better call Saul. The boys are in Alberqure and get arrested and Saul bails them out, Wow! Anyway a Breaking Bad connection for Trevor and Cory works as well We could call one Werner Karl Heisenberg, and the other Principle.
The thing is if you reverse the roles on that play, with Stone slashing PK and PK rolling around like he'd just been shot, it would have been 2 for slashing and 2 for embellishment (with a possible 10 minute misconduct after PK complained) and then of course another fine for PK and MT. And the SFU wouldn't have said boo about it, other than to criticize PK and the Habs. And that is a fact that we all know. It's shameful and disgusting.
Doing a little reading elsewhere, I don't usually troll the refs but that was fucking atrocious last night. As one commenter said, it was like Ottawa had seven skaters on the ice last night and their two most effective players were Jackson and Kozari. Realistically, Gallagher was assaulted all night long and they let it go, the turds got the PP advantage 5-1 and there were two missed calls on the Habs I recall in the third period when DLR was hooked down and Plexxxe was hit from behind into the boards. That's when I started cursing at the TV. I will give MT2.0 credit, he held it together pretty good last night. I wouldn't have. Kudos to him.
Given Cameron's call for retaliation if PK doesn't get a suspension, I wouldn't play PatCHes even if he is ready. Whether he meant it or not, his turds will run with it and already put it into their game plan now.
Considering the flopping around he did on the ice after being slashed "on the arm", it would be nice if somebody with some imagination and talent could do something with this: http://wierdnwildcreatures.wikia.com/wiki/Stonefish

With all due respect for Reeds, one of the stupidest things heard last night was fried man saying the league should/would/could give the sens coach a pass for his comments because his friend had just died.
Just a question, would any of you be interested in Lucic's services if the B's decide to trade him? If he's playing for us instead of against us his mental issues may sort themselves out. He could be a really effective player. Thoughts?
I would guess he has one of those limited trade clauses and Montreal is probably at the top of the list of "will not go there". If Pretzel is moved it will be to a western conference team, the B's wouldn't want him in their faces 5 times a year. He's from Vancouver so...maybe the Canuckleheads?
I said it during the game, PFK will get gleefully ripped and the SFU will enjoy slagging him and the Habs. They whine more than the sens. Tack on the stupid leafool fans and its the shitshow they want. Sick fucks.
Refs should have called this game correctly from the beginning and not let the Sens have free-reign because then you leave players to believe that they can get away with stuff and do things they normally would not. What I thought was worse than the slash was PK coming out to the hall when he saw Stone back in the game. He slashed, he got the penalty and that should have been the end of it.
True but PFK should've manned-up and not made that display. The CH is about class and I can understand his frustration but he went a touCH too far. Sip for PFK's heart but use your head young man.
I like cheering for an organization where the coaching and management people don't take part in any bullshit bucket mouthing in the media the way the snores are. WTF is that Murray saying, that His Flashyness made threats ?? Does he realize how stupid he sounds? And Stone with a mini micro what the fuck in his wrist? Bob The Gainey played with two separated shoulders and No Yip. The snores are making themselves look like a bunch of girls.... Mrs Chester will make me pay for that. Go Habs
I can forgive the inappropriate gender refrences Chester, maybe you not have said " like the cowardly lion from Wizard of Oz, a bunch of Franks from Mash, a Neuman festival, a whole saucer full of Dr Smiths:)
Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't recall the Habs whining like little bitches when Gryba tried to take Lego's head off 2 years ago and the only one who got dissed was the BEFW coach for his stupid comments. The SFU's all said it was just a hockey play like the shaved ape on Patches. The senators, their coaches, management and the Hab hating SFU's can all go fuck themselves.
I had not seen it. Wow, that alone is better than the last three movies. I think the MAN is going to be shaking me down for some Cinema Show this Christmas.
Apparently there was something happened with Shea Weber last night, a cross-check, picking up a broken stick to use, a punch all on the same play but I can't find anything.
I'm sorry, I'm going to have to respectfully call out Chester and 29 and others who are wearing their rose coloured glasses when looking into the past. Guys didn't do this stuff back in the day? Really? Bobby Clarke didn't lumberjack chop a Soviet ankle? Gretzky didn't cry to the refs? Mario didn't embellish slashes? Guys didn't turtle? Stevens and Pronger didn't roam the ice looking for guys to give head shots to?
Sorry guys, PK isn't the first guy to give a slash or complain about a call or run his mouth on the ice. Again, with respect, you guys sound like the people who talk about the 1950s like there were no problems and everyone in the world lived in peace.
And, as we've talked about here, PK has to deal with A LOT more than most other guys, both from the players on the ice and the league itself. I'm not calling anyone racist, but I'm guessing none of us knows how it is to always be targeted, scrutinized and punished simply for your race while you play the game that you love. We can all pretend that it's not an issue, or that he shouldn't let it be an issue, but the fact of the matter is if PK wasn't black he wouldn't be targeted in the media and by the league as a "Dirty" player, and if he didn't have that unfounded reputation he wouldn't have gotten that misconduct last night. I don't even think that's exactly what was going through his head at the time, but I really wouldn't know what it feels like to always be targeted and get the short end of the stick either.
That doesn't mean we, as fans, can't scrutinize PK's actions. It was an obvious slash and deserved a penalty. I haven't seen anyone deny that. But it if wasn't PK, there is NO WAY that there's 5 and a game. NO WAY. There are slashes like that several times a game, I saw probably 10 others just like it on both teams last night. So we can hold PK to the impossibly different standard that the league holds him to, or we can recognize that he's doing his best in an impossible situation, and is a young man who will make mistakes in those situations. And if you think his attitude and behaviour is new, maybe you should rewatch some of the games from your heyday to get some perspective. The Rocket broke his stick attacking another player and punched a ref out and in response the whole city rioted to support him. But you've never seen an out of control player like PK? Ok, grandpas....
Great one O-Man - my last ever game at the Forum was against the oilers sometime in the early 80's - I sat behind the oilers bench and listened to gretzky wine and cry and swear for the whole game. And check out that habs playoff video from yesterday - there was a picture of. Two guys cut and bleeding...Hockey is a tough game sometimes!!
Wow, you got to see Gretzky in his prime? Say what you will about him, that must have been a thrill. I was probably watching on my father's lap. Or inside his lap. What year did you say this was, exactly?
O-Man - I had to do some searching...it was Valentines Day 1983 - the Habs won 4-2 - I think that was the year Jacques Lemaire replaced Bob Berry as coach half way through the season - actually not long after that game.... The Habs made it to the semis and lost to Buffalo. It was an interesting time - Lafleur was falling, Gretzky was rising, Steve Shutt was the leading scorer and Rick Wamsley and Richard Sevigny were carrying averages around 3.5 in nets. We still had Chelios and Langway and Robinson. Mario Tremblay (DIE!) was outscoring le blond demon and Doug Wickenheiser (remember him!) was a big name up front...It was still pretty cool and I really thought Gretzky was a whiny bitch!
“I don’t want to use the phrase that I was told,” Murray added, referring to the alleged Subban threat. “Because we have players wearing (microphones) now, because we have four officials on the ice, probably one of the officials heard it. It’s not, ‘I said something, somebody else said something.’ I’ve asked the officials to investigate.”
Great! Then provide us with the clip of PK threatening Stone. No? Ok, how about the official who heard it? No there, too? So, yeah, then you were "told" because you have no other proof. All because the opportunities exist to gather proof, doesn't mean you therefore have proof. Or, you know, you could be making it up in order to distract from the threats your own coach made to the media.
By the way, have we set the odds on Stone playing on Friday night? Because I would like to put my life savings on him being there. In fact, I'm going to take out additional loans to wager that he'll be in the line up. It's all theatre.
I mean, they can't just say he's not injured and will be playing next game. That would invite a lot of negative attention from fans, the Habs, the league and the refs. They have no choice but to give us this BS about him being so injured he *might* not play next game. A microfracture is like chronic fatigue syndrome or gluten intolerance. It's just a trendy term that sounds serious, but actually doesn't really mean anything. And seriously, unless his hand was chopped off there was no need for Stone to be rolling around crying like that.
A friend of mine always mocks me for always defending the Habs and was texting me last night to get me riled up. I simply told him to watch the clip. Got a message this morning from him, "That was uncomfortable to watch. You think his dad is proud of him?"
So, Perron (Pit) did pretty much the exact same slash on a Ranger in the 1st period tonight as PK did last night. He got 2 minutes. Just got to watch it, do it if you can. he shortens up on his stick and takes a two hander to the wrist. Not exactly the same (the puck is closer in this play), but not that far off either. Of course the Ranger didn't go down like he was JFK in Dallas and start calling out for his mommy.
The refs are being funny in this game too. After already having a couple of 3rd period PPs, they call a penalty on a borderline play in the last minute. This is the playoffs. If he's not dead, there's no penalty.
Watching The Perfect Storm: the 94 Expos. Makes me sad and pisses me off all at once. That outfield I think was the best trio to EVER play the game, Alou/Grissom/Walker...Wow!
Oh my god! Oh my god! Just 12.5 hours till Game 2! I'm supposed to go out tonight, but I'm probably going to flake off so I can be up in time for the game.
Lick it!

DeleteP.K. Subban: "I've never threatened anybody out there."
ReplyDeletehttp://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/senators-gm-murray-subban-threatened-stone/
ReplyDeleteWhat is wrong with this organization? Do they look to the leaf for advice? Holy fuck.
DeleteI said it during the game, PFK will get gleefully ripped and the SFU will enjoy slagging him and the Habs. They whine more than the sens. Tack on the stupid leafool fans and its the shitshow they want. Sick fucks.
DeleteRefs should have called this game correctly from the beginning and not let the Sens have free-reign because then you leave players to believe that they can get away with stuff and do things they normally would not. What I thought was worse than the slash was PK coming out to the hall when he saw Stone back in the game. He slashed, he got the penalty and that should have been the end of it.
ReplyDeleteTrue but PFK should've manned-up and not made that display. The CH is about class and I can understand his frustration but he went a touCH too far. Sip for PFK's heart but use your head young man.
DeleteThat's what I mean when I said he come out to the hall when saw Stone came back, he should have just stayed in the locker room.
DeleteHow does it feel, ah how does it feel?
ReplyDeleteTo be on your own, with no direction home
Like a complete unknown, like a rolling Stone
Like a complete unknown, like a whining Stone
Deletethere is a paraody song hiding in there somewhere
DeleteI like cheering for an organization where the coaching and management people don't take part in any bullshit bucket mouthing in the media the way the snores are.
ReplyDeleteWTF is that Murray saying, that His Flashyness made threats ??
Does he realize how stupid he sounds?
And Stone with a mini micro what the fuck in his wrist?
Bob The Gainey played with two separated shoulders and No Yip.
The snores are making themselves look like a bunch of girls.... Mrs Chester will make me pay for that.
Go Habs
Lucky Mr. CHester! Sip.
DeleteAre the sens still crying like a CHild? Sip!
I can forgive the inappropriate gender refrences Chester, maybe you not have said " like the cowardly lion from Wizard of Oz, a bunch of Franks from Mash, a Neuman festival, a whole saucer full of Dr Smiths:)
DeleteCorrect me if I'm wrong but I don't recall the Habs whining like little bitches when Gryba tried to take Lego's head off 2 years ago and the only one who got dissed was the BEFW coach for his stupid comments. The SFU's all said it was just a hockey play like the shaved ape on Patches. The senators, their coaches, management and the Hab hating SFU's can all go fuck themselves.
DeleteWhat the M. said.
Deletetsn can't keep a fucking Habs win as the first item on their main page but slashgate is locked down. SFU.
ReplyDeleteSteve! (well everyone but really steve)
ReplyDeleteSee the new Star Wars trailer released today? It made me excited, and I have been dreading this movie. So good job
http://io9.com/luke-skywalker-is-back-second-teaser-for-star-wars-th-1698255293
I had not seen it. Wow, that alone is better than the last three movies. I think the MAN is going to be shaking me down for some Cinema Show this Christmas.
DeletePcakes!
ReplyDeletethe real cakes a healthy scratch for game one, DGMB picks another pocket. Was there ever any doubt?
Deletecool
DeleteApparently there was something happened with Shea Weber last night, a cross-check, picking up a broken stick to use, a punch all on the same play but I can't find anything.
ReplyDeleteSlashgate still rules. Threats on the ice? Happens every game, get over it you whiney bitches.
ReplyDeleteWhoa, I just heard Murray say he still objects the Gryba suspension because it was simply a hockey play. Fuck you.
ReplyDeleteI saw that clip too. What a dickhead! Invalidates everything in his argument. Fuck you!

ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, I'm going to have to respectfully call out Chester and 29 and others who are wearing their rose coloured glasses when looking into the past.
ReplyDeleteSorry guys, PK isn't the first guy to give a slash or complain about a call or run his mouth on the ice.
(I mean that lovingly)
Nice rant O-man. I actually was thinking of the Rocket's stick use yesterday.
DeleteGreat one O-Man - my last ever game at the Forum was against the oilers sometime in the early 80's - I sat behind the oilers bench and listened to gretzky wine and cry and swear for the whole game. And check out that habs playoff video from yesterday - there was a picture of. Two guys cut and bleeding...Hockey is a tough game sometimes!!
DeleteWow, you got to see Gretzky in his prime? Say what you will about him, that must have been a thrill. I was probably watching on my father's lap. Or inside his lap. What year did you say this was, exactly?
DeleteO-Man - I had to do some searching...it was Valentines Day 1983 - the Habs won 4-2 - I think that was the year Jacques Lemaire replaced Bob Berry as coach half way through the season - actually not long after that game....
DeleteAnd I still wasn't quite old enough to vote...
Delete“I don’t want to use the phrase that I was told,” Murray added, referring to the alleged Subban threat. “Because we have players wearing (microphones) now, because we have four officials on the ice, probably one of the officials heard it. It’s not, ‘I said something, somebody else said something.’ I’ve asked the officials to investigate.”
ReplyDeleteGreat!
The sens are threatening the Habs with micro-brained chris neil.
DeleteBy the way, have we set the odds on Stone playing on Friday night? Because I would like to put my life savings on him being there. In fact, I'm going to take out additional loans to wager that he'll be in the line up. It's all theatre.
ReplyDeleteI mean, they can't just say he's not injured and will be playing next game.
DeleteA friend of mine always mocks me for always defending the Habs and was texting me last night to get me riled up. I simply told him to watch the clip. Got a message this morning from him, "That was uncomfortable to watch. You think his dad is proud of him?"
Both Dads have nothing to be proud. PFK's slash and stone's dash.
Delete2-1 Wings. Bishop looks weak.
ReplyDeleteSo, Perron (Pit) did pretty much the exact same slash on a Ranger in the 1st period tonight as PK did last night.
ReplyDeleteNobody set up on the grassy knoll tonight eh?!
DeleteUgh, Rags win. Smug little assholes.
ReplyDelete3-1 Wings!
ReplyDeleteThe refs are being funny in this game too. After already having a couple of 3rd period PPs, they call a penalty on a borderline play in the last minute. This is the playoffs. If he's not dead, there's no penalty.
DeleteThis is all in favour of TB, btw.
DeleteWings take game 1!
DeleteWatching The Perfect Storm: the 94 Expos. Makes me sad and pisses me off all at once. That outfield I think was the best trio to EVER play the game, Alou/Grissom/Walker...Wow!
ReplyDeleteHave you read this article?
Deletehttp://www.tsn.ca/keri-on-the-past-future-of-montreal-baseball-1.245732
Can't wait to pick up the book when I'm back in Canada this summer. Need to watch this doc, too.
Haven't read that one. I did read (i think it was called) Ecstacy to Agony.
DeleteHere's the Perron slash. Is it really that much different (another angel from the stands shows it's actually more vicious than here. Still 2 minutes).

Oh my god! Oh my god! Just 12.5 hours till Game 2! I'm supposed to go out tonight, but I'm probably going to flake off so I can be up in time for the game.
