I'd like to wish all FHFers a FHFantastic 2016. The best of everything for you, yours and of course our Habs! Thanks for making this place FHFun and GYFHG!
Let me second K3X's sentiments. moeman, this site is one of the things that makes being a Habs fan fun. If I may, speaking as a fan of the show Shameless, I have always wanted to apply the nickname of Lip to our own Gallagher, since he shows so much of the same sort of moxie. I think #11 already has a moniker here, but I can't recall. GO YOU FUCKING GALLAGHER RESTORED HABS GO!
Happy New Year to fellow FHFers and their families, may the year bring you all health and happiness. And Happy New Year to the Habs, may they get back to their winning ways.
HAPPY NEW YEAR MOEMAN! And to all the FHFers out there too! Heck of a day for an outdoor game, even though it's a Bettman 'get more merucans to watch hockey' tool. Regretting my decision not to go as my cousin has been posting lots of pics from the event. And that's just what it is - an event. Just hope our guys come away with the 2 points and kidA's fingers stay intact - glad ratface isn't playing.
One more thing from the alumni game. While it was cruel for Kovalev to "embarrass a 61 year old" (with not a very hard shot actually), it's perfectly fine for the Doctor to do so to a 58 year old Richard Sevigny. It's so OK, let's give him the mvp. FOAD SFU.
Anyway, positive 2016 thoughts. Can't wait to see kidA back on the ice.
I loved Sevigny yesterday, although I'm sure his body is not this morning. And who should be embarrassed when Raycroft can't handle Shutt's sexagenarian wristshot? Gotta love how the bitter rivalry lingers.
moeman, agree about Friedman. He had great potential and was a breath of fresh air when he was new to the scene. Then they got to him. Agree he does great pieces like the Condon one though.
And leaf fan Jimmy Hinchcliff cheering for his favourite player, P< and the Habs. I'll allow it because he's a pretty cool cat despite his tronna upbringing. BTW, has Viggo abandoned the Habs - haven't seen him sporting the CH...mind you haven't seen him do anything so there's that.
So ref lets all the crosschecking in the back and pushing Yeast, the net goes off and he still doesn't bow the whistle until fights break out. FUck off.
Just switched to the NBC feed. I like Doc, with his "I'm OK that I don't know everything about hockey" attitude, even with JR doing some of the colour work.
PKP (TVA) Sports is a few ticks ahead of the NBC feed - and seems like a better picture? They definitely have made strides in the quality of their commentary too.
I switched over to NBC and the first thing I heard was something about the shaved and maybe a penalty should have been called.....fuck it I tuned back to TVA.
Learned one more reason to love and thank Mr. Ken Dryden yesterday. Healy says he was moments from signing with the Habs when Dryden, then president of the wretched leaf, snatched him away. Was good to have a man on the inside.
Great game so far. The puck is following the Habs around much like it didn't all through December. Watching them skate-march with snow bluffs in the background is a nice touch.
Sportsnet is literally the Boston Bruins show. I'm switching back and forth between them and the NBC feed, and the American feed is talking about Montreal more. Which isn't hard since SN literally hasn't even mentioned them at all yet.
Hah! Barberio on TVA talking about how pleasantly surprised he is to be a part of this - last week was expecting to be in Utica right now. Must be quite a bus ride from St. John's for Toker et al.
I wonder if the Icecaps and teams before them fly everywhere? It's dicey getting off the rock by ferry this time of year. Minor league teams aren't typically known for flying much, more of a bussing kind of gig.
Campari and San Pel on ice. Funny story, I had a big family brunch on Sunday and post party made some ice, which I freeze outdoors during the winter. So I placed the trays on a table and forgot about them, until just now. Buried under a foot and a half of snow. Only in Canada!
Was just prepping for dinner, thawing out some tomatoe-basil (basil from my balcony garden), also froze oodles of basil and will add more, with some fresh zucchini with garlic and adding to the base.
Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!!!!!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!!!!!!
Yep, Pee Air still bitter about being shunned by the Habs for the GM job I guess. Imagine what our team would look like with Princess Pylon on the blueline.
So I've now heard that it's the wind, it's Krejci's injury, Ratface's suspension and the fact that bruins have been doing media that is causing this lopsided play. No mention of the Habs playing well. Nope. It's just about the broons not playing up to their potential.
That was another good period. Great save by Sheik to end the period. Habs are playing well. I still dont like the outdoor game but I am enjoying this. Drinking pints of Abbot Ale on NYD. Shortbread and a pint. I'm well happy
Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!!!!!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you Moeman - we all appreciate how much work and personal time you put into this amazing blog. Go Habs Go!

DeleteAnd RIP "Trapper John". Off to the great M*A*S*H unit in the sky.
ReplyDeleteYes, R.I.P. Wayne Rogers.
DeleteOMG R.I.P.
DeleteYes Trapper John, when Frank and Trapper left Mash became just another show.
DeleteWhen McLean Stevenson (Colonel Blake) died it felt weird to replace him but it was well done with Harry Morgan (Colonel Potter).
DeleteGo Habs Go!! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDIE BROOONS DIE
ReplyDeleteRIP Natalie Cole too. She was 65.
ReplyDeleteDamn. R.I.P. to a beautiful women with a beautiful voice.
DeleteOUF, what a singer she was, the apple didn't fall far from the tree.
DeleteR.I.P.
When he isn't sowing his bias, friedman does some of the best individual player pieces. The Condon one was well done.
ReplyDeleteFFS JUST WIN FFS
ReplyDeleteHappy new year kids! My hangover is, uh, not good
ReplyDeleteWonder if the petition worked and the cabaret singer is in.
ReplyDeleteThe non-snet, NHL produced rivalry piece did not focus on the Zednick and PatCHes hits.
ReplyDeleteYawn. Just get to the frickin game.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be 2017 by the time they get to the game.
ReplyDelete"Jenkins! We need the most generic, non-offensive, unmemorable music act possible for this thing!"
ReplyDeleteSo does NBC allow Montreal to win? Does Therrien? Such intrigue!
ReplyDelete'Classic French flag" ??
ReplyDeletemoeman, agree about Friedman. He had great potential and was a breath of fresh air when he was new to the scene. Then they got to him. Agree he does great pieces like the Condon one though.

Roadrunner says it all about the rivalry, respect. See today's song.
ReplyDeleteLiving on the other side of the world, I sometimes mix up my dates. Is there a game today? Did I get it wrong?
ReplyDeleteThe Yanks really do love their guns, eh?
ReplyDeleteMme. Reno is mal au coeur if she's watching this
ReplyDelete1 PM my ass
ReplyDeleteNew tag!
DeleteAt least you didn't put your alarm on for 2AM to watch this.
DeletePlease leave my national anthem alone. You don't have to ruin everything I love all in one day, Bettman.
ReplyDeletei like it.
DeleteYeah, Simple Plan rockin' out O Canada!
ReplyDeleteAnd I've already heard chants of USA USA when the Habs were being introduced. Dumbasses.
Yeah, not too bright are they?
DeleteThe NHL loves Simple Plan.
ReplyDeleteI may be the only one that likes 'alternate' versions of O Canada. But I like alternate versions of many classic tunes.
ReplyDeleteDidn't mind the rockin' Oh Canada.
Deletethe American Idol guy was soooo much better.
ReplyDeleteGo Habs Go!! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSit through all that crap and then right after puck drop the gamecenter feed cuts out. Of course. It's back now, though.
ReplyDeleteDDD!
ReplyDeleteDDD!!!!
ReplyDeleteDDD? !
ReplyDeletePut DDD back on the 3rd line and he scores right away. If only someone would have thought of that earlier....
ReplyDeleteWhen was the last time we scored first?
ReplyDeleteLast year.
Delete+2015 moe
DeleteLove how DDD proves millions of Habs fans right by wasting no time in scoring as soon as he is off the #1 line GYFGRHG!
ReplyDeleteDDD!!!!
ReplyDeleteSTFU heely
ReplyDeleteOops I was on pause earlier, live now.
ReplyDelete"When it was in Detroit, it was half and half for the leafs! But it's all Boston here"
ReplyDelete*Pans to crowd that is obviously at least 1/3 Montreal fans*
CaCHe it!
ReplyDeleteSo ref lets all the crosschecking in the back and pushing Yeast, the net goes off and he still doesn't bow the whistle until fights break out. FUck off.
ReplyDeleteButtman directive to get a dust-up or two for the Trump-lovers I guess. They're on a war footing you know.
Deletesnet needs to stop focusing on the 'I want to kill you' shit.
ReplyDeleteJust switched to the NBC feed. I like Doc, with his "I'm OK that I don't know everything about hockey" attitude, even with JR doing some of the colour work.
DeleteThx, just switCHed.
DeletePKP (TVA) Sports is a few ticks ahead of the NBC feed - and seems like a better picture? They definitely have made strides in the quality of their commentary too.
DeleteI switched over to NBC and the first thing I heard was something about the shaved and maybe a penalty should have been called.....fuck it I tuned back to TVA.
DeleteMan i love having Doc Emerick do a Habs game but some of these NBC camera movements are making me physically ill (aided by the hangover I guess)
ReplyDeleteOnly 2 shots on Sheik, guys here say he's going to freeze.
ReplyDeleteLearned one more reason to love and thank Mr. Ken Dryden yesterday. Healy says he was moments from signing with the Habs when Dryden, then president of the wretched leaf, snatched him away. Was good to have a man on the inside.
ReplyDeleteThat was probably 1997ish
DeleteCaCHe it!
ReplyDeleteToo bad that wasn't with less than a second to go and they call the delay of game.
ReplyDeleteDo we know who the refs are?
DeleteMcAuley and Pollock...a couple of tronna boys probably.
DeleteOne thing for the ape to push KidA but to then jump on him?
ReplyDeleteGallagher = the Revenant
DeleteGreat game so far. The puck is following the Habs around much like it didn't all through December. Watching them skate-march with snow bluffs in the background is a nice touch.
ReplyDeleteNot a bad first period...keep it up boys!
ReplyDeleteI have thr TVA feed today - not too bad I suppose...Go Habs Go! BTW - I didnt mind the rocked out O Canada
ReplyDeleteSportsnet is literally the Boston Bruins show. I'm switching back and forth between them and the NBC feed, and the American feed is talking about Montreal more. Which isn't hard since SN literally hasn't even mentioned them at all yet.

DeleteThey were in Binghamton, NY last night and play in Utica tomorrow. Yeah, I've heard those ferry rides to the rock are pretty crazy affairs.
DeleteCampari and San Pel on ice. Funny story, I had a big family brunch on Sunday and post party made some ice, which I freeze outdoors during the winter. So I placed the trays on a table and forgot about them, until just now. Buried under a foot and a half of snow. Only in Canada!
ReplyDeleteOutside of Strombo, the remaining crew should be called The Hateful 8.
ReplyDeleteI think they're closer to The Ridiculous Six.
DeleteGood one!
DeleteWas just prepping for dinner, thawing out some tomatoe-basil (basil from my balcony garden), also froze oodles of basil and will add more, with some fresh zucchini with garlic and adding to the base.
ReplyDelete*tomatoe-basil sauce*

ReplyDeleteThere's some prosciuto, antipasti and OKA CHeese left from the brunCH. Making a pizza later.
ReplyDeleteCaCHe it.
ReplyDeleteHell of a shift resulting in a PP!
ReplyDeleteHow is that not a penalty? Oh right, they're already short-handed.
ReplyDeleteGo Habs Go!! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI really wanna see PFK score.
ReplyDeleteSomeone mentioned the Habs behind the opponent net play in the Alumni game. Today we see both KidA and DDD doing just that.
ReplyDeleteWind must have changed 180° - during the intermission McSplooge said the Habs benefited by having the wind at their backs in the first.
ReplyDeleteYep, Pee Air still bitter about being shunned by the Habs for the GM job I guess. Imagine what our team would look like with Princess Pylon on the blueline.
DeleteKill it.
ReplyDeleteWow,NBC just showed the 'penalty'. That's the best they could come up with to give the B's a chance eh?! Wow.
ReplyDeleteWhy review, they blew the whistle first, and what about 'intent'?
ReplyDeleteWow, PFK looked great as a centre there.
ReplyDeleteWonder if the NBC angles hypnotized 29?!
ReplyDeletejust inducing nausea with their evil cameras
DeleteCan you sue them? Class action?
DeleteLove the sounds of skates and sticks and boards.
ReplyDeleteAlso let's you hear loud and clear when chrisfuckinglee says 'fuck you , you're getting an embellishment'
DeleteNo disrespect to St. Pad but fuck off with the bellichik love-in.
ReplyDeleteKill it.
ReplyDeleteLb, get out there.
Holding my ass.
ReplyDeleteThat just sounds funny juce!
DeleteSheik needs to hone his puck-handling skills. Hope CHip is ok.
ReplyDeleteWho are these Habs!?!
ReplyDeleteThey're bound to put the puck in, they're doing everything else.
ReplyDeleteCan this be all because of KidA? or DDD back on 3rd?
ReplyDeleteHabs New Years Resolution: Play some fucking hockey.
ReplyDeleteSheik gave the broons the puck again, careful, dude.
ReplyDeleteJust saw a reply if Talbot holding PFK's stick.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the broons can dress Dr. recchi.

ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with that
ReplyDeleteWelcome back kidA!
ReplyDeletekid G?
ReplyDeleteKid A its been so long
ReplyDeleteWas that goal wind-assisted?
ReplyDeleteLots of hot air blowing from mcsplooge - he was excited because the linesman was indicating no goal (as if they could).
DeleteKodi/phoniex/nhl sat feed, I think for once I am ahead of everyone time wise
ReplyDeleteOh man, kill it.
ReplyDeleteLb, get out there.
Broons will score 7 so come on boys more goals
ReplyDeleteThat was unnecessary and bad luck combined.
ReplyDeleteSafe!
ReplyDeleteSafe!
ReplyDeleteSaint Patrick, I mean SHEIK!!
ReplyDeleteROBBER!!!
ReplyDeleteSee what i did there? Rubber the rubber robber.
DeleteKidA was so happy, you can just see he much he missed playing and how happy he is.
ReplyDeleteLove the KidA goal scream!
DeleteAll right, time for the wind to change direction again. Forum ghosts that never found the phone booth seem to have migrated to Foxborough.
ReplyDeleteLead by Dickie Moore as he tags up with his old pals.
DeleteByron, DDD and KidG scoring. Can we please see Cherry's head explode?
ReplyDeletesmurf attack gumming them to death
DeleteYep the 'smurfs' up by a field goal after 2.
DeleteSo I've now heard that it's the wind, it's Krejci's injury, Ratface's suspension and the fact that bruins have been doing media that is causing this lopsided play. No mention of the Habs playing well. Nope. It's just about the broons not playing up to their potential.
ReplyDeleteIATG
DeleteThat was another good period. Great save by Sheik to end the period. Habs are playing well. I still dont like the outdoor game but I am enjoying this. Drinking pints of Abbot Ale on NYD. Shortbread and a pint. I'm well happy
ReplyDeleteI don't like outdoor games either, but if Montreal is going to play like this I'm all for taking the roof off the Molson Center.
DeleteOr move the remaining home games to McGill Stadium!
DeleteWorked for the Als.
DeleteThe Habs had a simple plan, get KidA back in the game.
ReplyDelete(see what I did there?)
like it!

ReplyDeletescott oak is thick

DeleteIf they can't win, they'll be looking to take someone out.
ReplyDeleteIs CHip done for the game?
ReplyDeleteJust heard he is. Blocked a shot.
Deleteper Boone, he's done for the day
DeleteHeh, PFK spinnerama leads to a ref hitting a broon.
ReplyDeleteSuperPLeXXXe is double turtlenecking today
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see the shaved ape try his bush league moves on The Big McM.
ReplyDeletemerde, I was about to post that they get back to the broons end.
ReplyDeleteFugly.
ReplyDeletesnet is giddy.
Love those coined terms.
DeleteNow I have to solve puzzles again to prove I'm not a robot.
ReplyDeleteGo Habs Go!! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhy is punching PFK in the face funny?
ReplyDeleteRinaldo tries to break PFK's neck after he's down and then lands on his back.
ReplyDeletepatCHes!!
ReplyDeletePatCHes!!!!! GYFGRHG!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletePatCHes!!
ReplyDeleteWeird, I heard some fans in the crowd CHeering!
ReplyDeletesnet is depressed.
patches!!
ReplyDeleteI guess KidA is the straw that stirs the red white and blue drink
ReplyDeleteHow is Talbot not called for holding? N8 just touches and he gets called.
ReplyDeleteOK CaCHe it
ReplyDeleteWhat a game by KidA!
ReplyDeleteHeeely wisdom " Goal scorers are defined by how many times they hit the back of the net" Billionares are defined by how many billions they have. Airplanes are defined as machines that fly.
ReplyDeleteNo disrespect to St. Pad but snet has talked more about the Patriots than the Habs.
ReplyDeleteNo worries...I stayed with NBC. At least I can understand their pro-Bruin rhetoric.
DeleteIf it's not a stanchion, or a patCH of PatCHes' own backyard, it's a fucking camera lens poking out of the glass that gets him. Right after potting a really sweet goal. -_-
ReplyDeleteThat's 2Lbs for the price of 1!
