Orangeman6:37 AM Drouin seems to be a desperation hail mary play for MB to keep his (and by extension) MT's job. It's worrying because in that case he may play loose with the future of the franchise to make something happen now. Which is even more ridiculous when you consider the fact that Drouin is still too young and too untested to even be considered a game changer.
People, including MB, may say that big pieces don't get moved that much but there have been some big trades so far this year, and a few big names were available this past summer (i.e. Sharp). The problems were very obvious back then, as I and others have said Price may have masked them but anyone paying attention could see them clear as day.
The irony being the team is actually playing better this year.
In other news, Fargo still sucks. One more episode to 'watch' as I surf in other windows, do laundry or stare blankly at a wall. Hey, I'm on break. Replies
Steve7:14 AM St louis has already offered Shattenkirk as part of a package, that would mean Petry for us
Scott in Montreal8:16 AM I consider Petry a crown jewel. I hope MB does too. Drouin is not worth that with Carr available.
K3X8:37 AM Allow me to wade in on the Drouin issue...why would you give up a roster player for someone not able to crack the bolts lineup? if he was the next big thing he would be playing and setting the league on fire. Just because he's french does not warrant unloading a proper full time player...unless it's ddd in which case straight up make that deal...but I digress. if he was the answer to what ails the Habs - or any other team for that matter - he'd be gone already...but he isn't so move on...DGMB needs to make a proper trade involving proper players...oh yeah - and he needs a new coach...
Allow me to chime in on the D pairings, I agree that Vodkov needs to drop back to the 3rd pairing, he doesn't have the legs or speed anymore to be on the top pairing. Also, eMTy needs to start incorporating N8 into the first PP unit with PFK. When he was with the Sea Dogs during the Memorial Cup run in 2011 he ran the PP. Now he is very hesitant to shoot or make a mistake for fear of an eMTy benching. Gallant used him a lot differently ... he would probably love to have him back with Huberdeau on the Panthers.
Speaking of said Panthers, I'm probably going to the game this Friday against the Blackhawks. Go You Fucking Cats Go!!! *Hangs head in shame*

Die Bruins. Fact is we are stuck with this team and coach. When the TFS returns all will be in ordung. But the fact will remain a two year old couch could win during the regular season with TFS in net. My beef is why can the coach not recognize that and play a little looser letter Carey make things less hairy?
Is it any coincidence that the X files will be back on tv after the week we have witnessed. I know in my head hockey is a business, a really slimey biz, but in my heart I always thought the CH was better.
I'll admit to not being fully aware of Drouin's real value, he was a high pick after all but I don't want to see gCHuck as part of any deal. MT2 has trouble managing young players, so why would he be any better making good use of Drouin? I hope DGMB doesn't panic and acquire him for too muCH.
Why is there always some asshat, some master of the universe who wants to turn down the volume in the midde of a party? The universe is a big place, exert your control on another planet.
thats making rubarb crisp out of rubarb. In the end they did the right thing, but how about his preggers wife? If the CH has any class left they will attend to that.
I'm sure you guys have all been reading the same crap as I have, one thing that caught my eye ... since Dec. 02 shortly after Carey went down, the Habs have accumulated nine (9), count'em 9 points. The next worse team was Buffalo with 17 points gained over the same time period. Holy fuck and excuse me, but what does that say about this Montreal team? Even with a veteran average goalie would they have been much better? I would say MB better re-think where his "rebuild" is actually at. A season of tanking probably wouldn't be a bad thing. This team needs a serious injection of talent up front.
I am happy to report my knees are good, I found a nice municipal golf course to play and should be hitting the links tomorrow. Tan? What tan? Mrs. Maritimer and I went for a nice walk down to the Marina this morning and did a little exploring of our area. I'll keep you posted. GYFHG!!!
I've got a feeling if this continues to go south, MB will ride it out with eMTy just like the Goat did with Cunneyworth. Probably make a move in the off season. Sorry 29.
Wow, I don't know what to say about Markov. So many years of greatness and suddenly he's the king of turnovers. Should we rename him Doughboy? Cuz he ain't very Vodkovian these days.

I just figured it out. General Vodkov must be the Tank Commander - he couldn't actually play as poorly as he has the past few games. Heh, as I'm typing I hear John Bartlett say "Markov turns it over to Vetrano..."
I'm just getting too old to fret over them anymore. With the coaching and GM limitations because of the language issues, it ain't gonna change. I wish Marinaro or us Anglos started screaming about that, because there lies the real truth. Who's in?
I watched a period and a half last night - the game was lost by then - maybe not on the scoreboard but you could see it in the players eyes. Lego was skating and looked good - give him that - Plex...not so much...Congrats to Conan on his first Habs goal- I told you he's not going anywhere and should have made the team out of training camp. Explain something to me please - I'm no MT after all so I probably don't know this...Why would you send down the one player who was consistently scoring for the Habs in December (Carr), replace him with JDLR for one game then sit JDLR in favour of DSP? That is a coaching call I don't understand. And not the first...So the Habs are of until the weekend when they take on the leaf in tranna - that should be a fucking lot of fun...so that gives DGMB 3 games to get his new coach in place and MT a chance to have a sort of a farewell tour of tranna and Columbus - because this is unsustainable people - unless DGMB has no interest in his own job - Therrien has forced his hand. - A head must roll...But for who? And I don't honstly thing that Guy Boucher is the saviour. If he was, I suspect he'd already be coaching somewhere...should be an interesting few days...
lets review. gCHuk cant handle responsiblity, so let DDD get mauled as a first line center instead. Defence first, so design a breakout that has the D pass the puck to the opposing team in the slot.
