Then I found a place, it's dark and it's rotted
It's a cool, sweet kind of place where the copters won't spot it
And I destroyed the map that I carefully dotted
However, every day I'm dumping the body

Boy, seems like I missed quite a bit. Good job, St.P.
Rest in Peace Gordie, you were a magical musician and a proud Canadian to be proud of.
ReplyDeleteRIP Gord Downie
ReplyDeleteThe Canadian identity is so nebulous but you turned those clouds into concrete ones and zeros, analog when live.
There is another corporate assassination of the fans joy. Just like FHF had to be become FHF, and did that make or lose the NHL a nickel? Remember the little shwama shop they came down hard on, this is why we should not be optimistic about anything returning to normal.
ReplyDeleteHIO is now a facebook page. They had a lot of good commentators and often I would post quotes verbaitim, mostly with accredication.
I crave Habs content, and there is nothing real out there execpt for this site and Eyes on the Prize. For those that love the paywall blogs, I say, I pay for the electricity and now you want more.
I will give it ten more games and then channel Sally Fields to declare, we suck we really suck
ReplyDeleteand the rest of the NHL loves us because we put money in their coffers, while we suck.
RIP Gord...strange...but yesterday at noon, my mom told me he had died. She knew I was a huge fan of the Hip, and I'm looking it up for news, and telling her "no mom he hasn't died." She has always been clairvoyant, and this was inevitable...but how the F did she know this hours before anyone else?
ReplyDeleteSad day
Very sad indeed.
DeleteAnd very eerie (& kinda cool) on your ma's behalf. Could you ask her when one might tune into the Habs and not expect to be disappointed?
Wow. Glad she was a hip fan, too.
DeleteEither Feb 6 or Oct 18 should forever be a National Holiday
ReplyDeleteHockey I/O sold out.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bummer.
Was my first stop in the morning.
Oh well.
Nothing lasts forever.
Go Habs
I read some EOTP stuff. Hit and miss but decent game previews and some good opinion pieces now and then.
ReplyDeleteCHicken taco bake. CHard. Coconut milk rice pudding. Was gifted a nice 8 year bottle of El Dorado Rum.
ReplyDeleteI just found out there is no sCHlem. It a Maguffin.
ReplyDeleteWill try to stay up for most of the game.
ReplyDeleteMan, can RDS be more fucking worse than a pre-game with a putrid panel of gaston therrien, pjsuck and francois gag-non?
ReplyDelete'more fucking worse' heh, me needed help there.
Delete10h30 puck drop. Oy.
ReplyDeleteGetting tired already. I'll have to wait til tomorrow for the disappointment.
ReplyDeleteVery late to the party... RIP Gord - The Hip were so much a part of my life...
