  2. Eagles 24 Pats 21

  3. I expect the Pats will only trail by 10 before finishing with a 34-24 victory.

I watched the TB/Van game this morning on the PVR, there are some really good players on these teams. Sergachev, although benched recently looked good last night, he deked a couple of Canucks out of their jock straps and picked up an assist on the PP. The panel showed a goal scored by PFK in the Nashville - Rangers game (also mentioned him as a Norris Trophy candidate) he has 22 points in his last 21 games. They also showed (Y)Emelin destroying Marc Staal with a big hit. Although there is no point in dwelling on the past, I will never understand bergevin and his staff's line of thinking in getting rid of all these players. They have literally demolished the Habs back end for years to come. bergevin's flawed logic evolved from the mistaken notion that Carey Price would be invincible behind any bunch of pylons he could sign. That didn't turn out so good.

Is it possible for both the Pats and Eagles to lose? God, let's hope so. (Thanks SNL).

  5. we now only win by losing. two points takes us from 5th pick possibly to 9th.

    5. The Railside is very hop-py.

    6. this one is classic english bitter - golden in colour and a very smooth session ale...meaning you can sit and drink a load of them without getting too pissed...only runs at 3.8%ABV - a lot 0f English beers are brewed that way

  13. Worth noting that for the first time this season I am watching the game on a large (49') flatscreen in HD rather than a 15' monitor. Found a free Sports channel that shows hockey from time to time and they are taking the SN feed - so Bob Cold - still - nice to see them in big glorious HD

  15. So I checked - Hab skater with the most TOI - Deslaurier. Hab with least TOI . Nikita (Not including the D) over 5 and a half minutes vs. three and a half...Makes no fucking sense!!

  16. I know it's early in the second but I am making a prediction here...the Habs are not going to score on Sheik tonight...

  20. Just tuned in to see the Habs up by one. As i figured they will play well enough down the stretch to give themselves a better shot at a 10-12 pick rather than a 1-5 pick. It doesn't even matter as long as the current regime is in place. So sure might as welk keep winning.

  21. What a great day for sports. NS ladies have had a surprisingly great week, now playing in semis (not looking good though), Habs (meh), Superbowl pre-game stuff and soon the final round of the Phoenix Open which has a dozen guys within a few shots of the lead. The ol' channel button will be taking a beating for sure. Oh and some football game or something later tonight apparently.

  23. Anybody notice Fiver basically diving into the bench from the offensive zone to keep the play onside about 20 seconds before the 3rd goal? That is hustle you don't often see from some of the leaders on this team.

    ReplyDelete
  24. PleXXXe bagged his 600th point, 13th all-time on the Habs list.

  25. Well this period sucks...

  26. I saw on one of the pregame shows that Giants fans are cheering for the Pats because they want to be the only team to have beaten Brady in the SB. You on board the M?

  27. add to trade value Supeplexxe

  28. Great showcasing effort. Dish for a first and center prospect St Lou. Superplexxe to Pits for Sid.

  29. So another nice win at home. TOI manged better by CJ in the 2nd and 3rd with Mete and Nikita each getting 15+mins . I see RDS gives Nikita 3rd star and Pleks 2nd - because he scored (he only won 33% of the faceoffs).

Now Go You Fucking Pats Go!!

I don't care what they do any more. Like many, many long time Habs fans I've checked out for the rest of this season anyway. Molson = Ballard. Shit product on the ice but $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.............

I STILL LOVE THIS BLOG THOUGH!!!!!!!

  31. Here is my modest proposal to fix the draft. Out bid for Buttman, offer to buy Arizona.

If that does not work, the team the closest to making the playoffs gets the top pick and then the rest of the picks in sequence. So the worst team gets like 18.

Whant to feel better. Google worst draft picks, we do not even make the list (see Arazonia) literally a monkey would do better.

  33. Gotta say, both games this weekend were not bad. Strangely similar - in that there were times when I was shaking my head thinking "this is bad"...only for them to turn around and score. Early in the 2nd today they didn't look like they would score anything - then they had a 5-3 for a couple mins and a 4 min minor to Karlson. Suddenly they score. They still do weird shit like skate into the corner rather than towards the net, and the D is scary as shit at times...although Dish played well this weekend, Meat looks like the real deal and if (T) can get his shit together he could be a valuable 3-4 D man too. Alzner should be bought out - he adds nothing. I think Schlemko could be decent too, but he needs a decent partner. I think we need to dump JB as well. It's only 2 wins but they were encouraging enough for me to become slightly more interested again...and I loved having the keys to the blog for a couple days too! It was fun and somewhat therapeutic...Thanks for letting me drive 'er Moeman. See I told ya I wouldn't scratch it up too badly!!

I think PleXXXe will get moved. My hope is after bergevin is gone, The new regime can coax Vodkov to come back after his KHL stint to play 10 games for the Habs to get the 1000 game milestone in the books.

  38. What did I miss? ...like the Maritimer, I am non-plussed at this point and not terribly interested in watching the games (at least as long as they are still pretending they are hunting for a play-off spot, and not looking to next year and playing the kids a lot more).

Still, PleXXX getting his 600th point and a goal for frosting is a very good thing. He has been a trooper since day one; however we often forget he is the highest paid forward on this team, so the criticism about his drop-off in offense since signing this contract is not without merit.

At the same time, if any fan is complaining about anyone on this team being paid too much they need to give their head a shake, cuz that argument only makes sense if the GM is already paying to the cap. What a mess, but as always, it is from shit that roses grow.

Of course you need the right amounts of sun and rain, good seeds, and the loving care of someone with a truly green thumb for those roses to blossom.

  42. My guess at what happens. DGMB is Herb Tarlek who can bench 300 lbs and he stays because Mr Molson cant throw a t shirt more than ten feet without peripatetics.

So like a sailboat in a storm he will throw everything overboard. BBQ, Dish, Superplexxe, SSR and will be gone at the deadline. PatCHes will stay because no one wants him now. When the games dont count he will move over 20 goals and be dealt at the draft for a first and a prospect.

Sept 2018 DBMB will truthfully say this team is better than last year. Not because its better, but because it has the potential to be better.

I'll bet we will be looking at the same exact team next October. Maybe minus PleXXXe. Bozo will take his 5th overall pick, some defenceman from Minnesota, and say 2017-18 was an outlier because Price was fatigued, Weber had a sore foot and Alzner was learning french.
