I think that we are all running out of pfucks to give about this year's version of the Habs...when I grow up I want to be a short track skating referee!
Olympic Men's team will face the Finns. Women's Gold medal game tonight too. And if you're like me and you can't even watch network TV normally, go spend some quality time watching the best kid actors ever in the Netflix series Everything Sucks (a fitting tribute to this Habs team of course).
Whatever the Habs had left got deflated in the loss to the Preds. They all realised that game that none of them are as popular to their fans as their ex-teammate PFK. The deflation should be exceptional. I completely expect the tank to go full-throttle from here on out. KidA will mercifully get injured after scoring his 25th of the season, and miss the last few games.
Good call on PFK. He was getting the cheers big time that night at the Bell. I wonder what GM and mb were thinking that night? Probably something like: Man, did we fuck up. Looks good on them.
The Phuckers are going to beat the snot out of this bunch of softies tonight.
Simmonds is now out 2-3 weeks. I therefore fully expect GCHuck to be removed from the Habs dressing room by the end of the first period and parting for the other team's bench by the third period - in exchange for a promise not to run over TFS for the remainder of the regular season.
So Andrew Shaw, a grinder with limited scoring ability is not available for trade, but a 24 year old highly skilled 3rd overall draft pick is. What a fucking gong show. I never would have thought it possible, but this regime may drive me away from NHL hockey.
The M, you give Molson and Bergy far too much credit to realize just how much they fucked up with PK. And it makes me feel bad saying so, because I think BBQ is an incredible defenseman...five years ago. He's getting older, thus slower and the game is getting faster. He is still a very useful player (when healthy) if in the right system. When Price is 'the system' this doesn't work so well.
It wouldn't fix anything, but it would be nice to see one of those guys at the top admit to fucking up. Not just with PK, but everything since then including Vodkov and CHe. I know that will never happen with Marc EGOvin or Geoffy "I'm a hockey guy goddammit!" Molson, but it's nice to dream.
All I have to look forward now is Halifax Moosehead's Filip Zadina getting crushed on national TV as he's chosen by this band of misfits 3rd overall. Good news is this team has a great way of nurturing 3rd overall picks...wait what?
I also do love our BBQ btw - if he ever can manage to fit his foot in a skate again and be the rock-solid (if dull as plain rice) D he has always been.
Remember when we used to laugh at leaf management? Ah, good times. Now one idiot has single handedly run the Canadiens right into the ground - with the help of his hand-picked, yes-men friends of course.
What I didn't understand about the PK trade was why they didn't get the center they desperately needed. I like Weber fine as well, but it was a sideways move that accomplished zilch. The same with Sergachev, you don't trade guys like that for wingers. The Habs coaching staff keeps trying to shove square pegs into round holes. It makes zero sense. If they have to keep trading away players who either party too much or whose personality is deemed to big to be acceptable to the brand at least get what you need not just what you can. Also, I would still rather have Lego than Shaw. He was another guy asshole therrien fucked over.
It's a horrible mess right now. The incompetence is mind boggling.
I think if we got all the draft picks to wear purity rings it would solve everthing. It would also help to trade for a center when what you really need is a center.
If Ecklund is correct we will make history. The first non playoff NHL team to buy at the trade deadline. Dont laugh, we where the first to make in game trades and now its common.
Here is an odd one...we all assume that playoff teams are the only ones currently looking to get better, but I am hearing Montreal, who is in Philly tonight, has interest in Hjalmarsson...He is the kind of experienced D-man the Habs would like moving beyond this season...
This "trade" (more like a giveaway) will come back to bite the Habs. Jerabek was not really given a chance to play with anyone decent. A young guy coming into his own playing for a team with no D, and he doesn't get a shot over the shitshow that is Benn/Alzner/Morrow/Schlemko? WTF!!
I mean... it's no big loss but it seems any D who has skating ability, quickness and even a hint of puck handling does not fit in bargainbin's regime. I laugh when I see the words "Montreal" and "defence" in the same sentence. Obvious oxymoron these days.
I suppose the other thing to consider is that every one of those above names could be sent to Laval - no one would bite the waiver wire...so any team needing a D from us can only ask for Meat or Dish from the starting lineup - not even bbb is that stupid...perhaps I am giving him too much credit...?
DGMB master of 7/8 defence. It was a good return for a rental. We have a ton of 5 to 8 candidates and there are a lot of beer leagues in the greater Montreal area if we run out.
I'll give BBB this: he is pretty good at evaluating when his development/organization has completely destroyed an otherwise decent player/prospect (N8, TinTin, Redmond) and getting an undestroyed, somewhat useful journeyman in return (Fiver, LB, T-M)
...at least discounting those like Barberio, Kassian, DSP, who did become very useful regulars elsewhere before their confidence was completely killed here.
its called Tanking. CHill is in his final audition for next years back up position. Possibly trade bait at the draft because we have someone even better in the pipeline.
One day when we find out who killed JFK, and did 911 we will find that TFS did not have scurvy.. it was all part of a tank plan, right from the start, why else would you have Wrong Benn playing with BBQ and Lou Grant and Schlumdog on D?

ReplyDeleteI guess it takes PFK to light a fire under their asses.

ReplyDeleteI like SSR fine -- as a strong supporting member to a playoff team. So it is pointless to say he is untouchable.

Mme. Belliveau LOVED PFK FFS!!!!! How clueless did they have to be to not figure out what that meant? Pretty clueless.
DeleteI remember seeing an interview with her on TVA. She said M.Belliveau told her 'watch that kid, he's going to be something'. Or along those lines.
DeleteWhen the trade happened I believe I said that they probably broke her heart.
I also do love our BBQ btw - if he ever can manage to fit his foot in a skate again and be the rock-solid (if dull as plain rice) D he has always been.
Deletegood news, BBQ has Forsberg Foot and will likely retire.

ReplyDeleteLoser points please, the real game is over, we dont need to win.

Did we win? By win I mean lose.
ReplyDeleteLoser point I think we are 4th now. CHance at a real player to play with Traves and Karlson. Thats who BBB is targeting, I know it!!
ReplyDeleteHERE WE GO! Stanley's coming home.
ReplyDeleteHabs trade Jerabek to Caps for 5th-round pick
And are they sure they don't want Alzner back? We'll throw him in for free.

Charlie Lindgren called up. TFS is not available Thursday...hmmm...wonder what's going on...
