  1. I love a Sexy Sunday. Started my day by building an accessible ramp for my 16 year old dog to get in and out the back door. He's skeptical but a few trips up and down and he will be good.

KC (and my man Pat Mahomes) against moe's Steelers and the amazing James Conner. Watched a bit about him this morning, nearly had a tear in my eye. Great kid.
Followed by my Pats against the Jags (no walk in the park), and end the night with the M's G-men visiting the Cowboys.

    1. BTW I have the Pats and Giants winning straight up and against the spread. Got Pit winning but KC covering the 5.5.

Terrible last week 8-8 straight up and tied for a league worst 5-11 against the spread so never use my picks as gospel.

    2. I wish Levon Bell would smarten up. PIT in a tough one today. Agree about Conner.

      Have a good one.

    3. Changed my pick to KC at the last second. Looking like a good move so far.

  2. Sweet Sexy Sunday, never get tired of that BBQ pick.

The Red White game is over. Scouting report says, we suck, Koko is Finish(d) for a least a couple of years. We have zero NHL d men. Pecca is good for the fourth, Mad Max looks good in scrimage. Armira did we come up with a nic is going to be good. The Thing goes back to Jr unless we come up with a super nic.

  3. What kind of fucking Zoo is this franchise running. TSN has a puff peice on LHN and Big Mac. Both years into their pro careers took powerskating lessons this summer.(on their own dime) WTF WTF WTF

moe's Steelers get ambushed by some QB I never heard of in Pitt.

Saint Paddy's Pats getting schooled by the Jags D just like my Giants last Sunday. Those cats are for realz.

My Giants have a slight chance to win against an overrated Cowboys team, but I say an 0-2 start is in my future.

Steve's right, the Habs are fucked, they can't even beat themselves... or did they lose to themselves. No worries, burgervan will be sniffing around everybody else's dumpsters in a week or two. LOL!!

    1. Hey never rule Tom Terrific out too soon...but yeah can't see it and agree the Jags look to be for real. Tremendous D.

I picked up that Mahome kid (and Kelce) for my fantasy team this year. Those two plus Stefon Diggs practically won me my matchup alone.

Best thing I can say about the Habs is that at least they aren't the Sens, an even bigger dumpster fire AND they gave away their first round pick. FFS this is what we're reduced to.

I've accepted the rebuild, I just like to give bergevin a shot whenever I can, and poke fun at the laughable "team" he's assembled. But, agreed, the Sens are a bigger dumpster fire, with a worse owner. The pundits say only Ottawa and Detroit will give the Habs a run for 31st overall. All I ask is give all the young guys a chance to play but don't ruin the recent draft picks, send Koko back to Finland and Suzuki to Owen Sound. They don't need to be part of the inevitable shitshow.

Hmmm.... TD Jags... see you later Tom.

  5. Cowboys won...so I am happy...just a note - the last pic on this page is mind blowing!

Any bets that Timmins and the dumpster diver take another Finnish kid named Kakko in 2019 to go with Koko...? Ranked 3rd overall by Blob, seems to fit the pattern.

  7. we sent the Devils back to hell. Younger faster stronger dumpster diving.

  8. As always...A win is a win is a win is a win! Last season, if I remember correctly, they didn't win a game in pre-season until the last day of training camp...or something like that - set the tone for the season...so as good omens go... Go You Fucking Habs Go!

  9. Tuned in from football to hockey just in time to see the Habs' first goal by Meat. That's some top shelf Kobe beef right there. Just let the kids play this year, except those that need to be no where near this team's rot this year.

  10. 3-1 win! It's all downhill from here

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Au contraire mon ami! A 3-1 win is an amazing start to the season - it is a position the Habs have not been in (regular season or pre-season) since the heady days of PK Subban. We must celebrate what ever success we can grasp...In fact, since that now infamous trade, the Habs have never known a stronger start to their pre-season...I will say nothing about the fact that they have achieved this lofty height with a lineup that DID NOT include Shea Weber, PK Subban, David Desharnais, Alex Galchenyuk or Max Pacioretty! Plan the goddamm parade boys!

      Delete
  11. the Maritimer8:24 PM

I see eMpTy is back on SFU-RDS and AntiHabsChamber with Tremblay and Carbo. Who will he have to kick around now that PK is gone? Maybe they will watch Predators games so he can throw PK under the bus just to get his jollies...

    ReplyDelete
  12. Just saw the Koho goal. Very Galchenyukish down on the one knee with the one timer. Gives me hope for the future at least.

Also just noticed that Fiver broke his face in a fight in that game and had surgery. Get well - this team will need your size and grit.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Good for the new Hab. Kid has a marketable smile (I know, so did PFK).

Sad for Fiver as I was hoping he'dve, in Game 1) lightly tapped matthews into the boards and putting the creampuff out for a spell.

    ReplyDelete
  14. So the Devils put out an AHL goon to spear a Finish and save a Norwegian whale. The NHL has to crack down on people who have no skill execpt bien big and able to throw. Our Rookies are Ming China, dont let them get broken before the public has even seen their best exhibition.

Fiver stepped up into a void created by the Buttman vison of NASCAR on ice. Its time to go Telsa.

    ReplyDelete
  15. So MadMax gets to take the rest of the pre-season off...which doesn't help anyone...but the Habs win again! Did you know that the last time the Habs were 2-1 in any competition, the Habs had ...Oh FFS I don't know and couldn't be asked to geek it up enough to look. All I know is that a win is a win is a win is a win...Now they also appear to have a challenge to face...what to do with Charlie...He's too fucking good for Laval. They don';t want to lose him cause one of TFS/Anti is gonna shit the bed at some point (or get hurt) so what do they do? Surely someone could use Anti in a trade where we could throw in Schlomo and we get another 5'9" left winger...Then Charlie becomes the back up and gets 25-30 games this season...Whaddya think? Do it bbb! - Make that trade!

...and I have Carlos Hyde on my fantasy football team!!

The Giants, only the second worst team in the NFL last season (after Cleveland), are in Houston this Sunday. Are the Oilers, err I mean Texans any good? Will the G-Men get their first win of the season? Probably not.

So, bergy's Midget AAA team managed to beat the Stanley Cup champs last night eh? "Small" victories are good too...

      Delete
    2. Texans are not looking great. Deshaun Jackson and Hopkins were lauded as the best tandem going into this season by many 'experts'. Hasn't clicked yet. And after JJ Watt on D, there's not a lot. You have a chance.

  18. So Aaron Ekblood (or Ekbled) promised revenge on Domi in the future. In a fair league this would be 'kept on file' and used when punishing for his crime after said revenge on Domi. But sadly, Domi is wearing the wrong sweater to end up on the right side of that decision. At least it's a reason to watch the Florida Panthers games this season.

I did something today I haven't done since I was 16 years old. No, not masturbate, I fixed a flat tire on my bike. Heading into the city earlier this week the back tire blew out on me. I had never tangled with an 18-speed mountain bike before but I thought "how hard can it be?" So, took the back wheel off last night, got the tire off the wheel and pulled the inner tube out. Took that to the Bike repair store, got a replacement inner tube for 14 bucks and reinstalled everything myself. Took her out for a test drive and: Yeah baby! Saved myself some coin I bet!!

    1. Nicely done but how did you blow the tire? SWIDT?

    2. the method u described to repair ure flat. how else would u do it? that's the only way I know!

  21. the Maritimer9:40 PM

    We got answers!!:

    1. That inner tube was probably 13 years old. Bought the bike in 2005, pretty sure the back tire was the original, I know I put a new one on the front a few years ago. So, old age was the culprit...

    2. Yes, but the statement I was making was I did it myself. The back is a little more complicated because you are dealing with the chain, sprockets and the old style brakes. A bike shop proabaly would have charged me an hour labour, 40 or 50 bucks maybe?

Just got back from watching the Sea Dogs season opener, a 5-4 OT loss to the Memorial Cup hosting Halifax Mooseheads. Pretty good game for the Saint John team carrying five 16 year olds.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I just had two tires replaced on my City Bike. I wore out the back tire replaced April 2018. (installed cost two tires $86) The cost with tax was $120.(better tires) Materials cost around $80. The labour cost for two tires is about the same as one. It is the back tire that is the beast.

While I feel I could change my own tires, its not something I want to do, hats of to the M, he has proven skills that will be handy in the Zombie Apocolypse.

Before yesterday there were only three players who where active after being put in the Hockey Hall of Fame. Lafluer, Lemiux and Howe. Today the duo of John Traves and Marnier have joined them based upon a pre season game.

Looks like LNH and Big Mac will start the year in Laval. Not good signs for our first overall picks.
Joel Ward looks like a Tank Commander.

The Montreal Canadiens have signed forward Paul Byron to a four-year, $13.6 million contract extension, the team announced on Sunday. The contract runs through the 2022-23 season as Byron is entering the final season of a three-year, $3.5 million contract.

  27. So that tornado thing here in Ottawa/Gatineau.

We lived through on that actually hit two blocks away some 20 years ago but this one was weird.

We got the EnviroCan alerts on TV/smartphones and they were pretty precise, off by maybe 10 minutes.

I stood on the deck (I'm in East Gatineau) and watched the clouds from NW to SE merge over the Bay, a minute from my place. No funnel was created but the speed of the clouds/wind was incredible. As the clouds combined, things grew dark and the wind was both cold (West) and hot (East). Lots of leaves and stuff, then big rain.

15Km in the Mont Bleu area, where my sister lives is where the bad stuff happened. She is literally 1 Km from the worst damage. She got power back 24hrs later.

All in all a weird experience and thoughts of those who lost a lot. I am off to donate a bag of clothes.

  30. 3-1 is always a good record. Beating the leaf regardless of who they play or don't is even better. Am I the only one concerned that TFS let in a .goal a minute into the Sens game? Smacks of last season to me...just wondering...

Nick Suzuki sent back to junior ... good move ... Kotka should be next, no need for bargainbin and jabba to gCHuk this kid, he might actually be the real deal. Finland is the perfect spot for him to grow up a bit and dominate at the WJC. The Habs can take their lumps and be the better for it.

So, what does anyone think of the historic election results down here in N.B.? We have red, blue, green and purple MLAs who all despise each other. Going to be an interesting next few weeks as Premier Gallant tries to cobble some kind of government together. I suspect I'll be voting again before Christmas. Maybe Easter...

Koko should not stay no matter what. Let him work on skating and strength in a league that does not have Rinaldo's.

    3. I kinda like the idea of KotK sticking around...from what I have seen so far - he dopes look like a player. Big Mac on waivers is interesting but I am disappointed that none of Benn, Schlomo or Alozheimer were waivered - not like anyone would pick them up...I was sad to see Lernout waivered - lie his game...

And as for your big election uprising in NB, all I can say is...it's a start I suppose. |Don't know much about Maritime politics but minority governments can work if the people involved really want it to work. Choose the best people to run the departments regardless of which side of the house they are on and things tend to improve all round...as soon as they get "political" - you're fucked and back to the polls. Good luck with that

  33. Great story on ETOP about Big Mac and powerskating. It illustrates my point that there is a serious mental problem with our management. Mgmt knew when they drafted him skating is an issue. Five years later he takes power skating for a month and big improvement is found. Maybe to little to late but what if he had been taking lessons for five years. The money line in our director of player development identifying what is wrong with his stride, but the Mgmt did nothing to correct it??? WTF

Please somebody do something to help The Thing and Koko who are also challenged on blades.

  40. 63 songs; https://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/an-american-treasure-deluxe/1410131998

The only downside to this 63-track anthology spanning the breadth and depth of Tom Petty's career is its reason for existence. Marking one year since his death, the collection largely eschews the hits you already know and own (save for exemplary live versions of “Breakdown,” “I Won't Back Down,” and “Even the Losers”) and seeks to dig deeper than the refugees already rescued for collections like 1995's Playback box set. That leaves the focus on outtakes and alternative versions of the songs that cemented Petty's legacy as a clockwork-consistent career artist who just happened to have crafted a couple dozen of the most beloved hits in rock history. The unearthed “Keep a Little Soul,” from 1982, could have been a high point of Damn the Torpedoes but happened not to be, while relatively overlooked later gems like “Saving Grace” and “Down South” from 2006's Highway Companion get their chance to be seen as part of the pantheon.
