    2. Uh... no offense, but it's not 2002 anymore.

  2. Kinkaid in goal tonight. He shoved Schneider aside for the #1 role apparently. Plus some kid who was injured but is back, completing on the Hall-Palmeiri line, who is apparently dangerous.

KidKo staying on the first PP unit and X-Man in for Jewels. I bet Dish and JB have very little in the tank for tonight's game. Then again, TFS reportedly had a Hulk moment to himself coming off the ice Monday after the OT loss, so maybe that'll scare the team enough to play hard tonight. GYFHG!!

  9. They're being taken to the woodshed tonight. Maybe a good think to correct some bad habits.

Sounds like I'm not missing a thing.

I know it's not 2002 anymore but it's just all those bad memories of being stifled, muffled and shut out numerous times. Plus I find NJ is a nothing team.

    1. True enough - different players and style; same frustration for the CH. At least Domini extended the streak to 11 games. --SiM on mobile

It's not like you couldn't see this coming. Everybody was predicting some long nights for Price with that defence.

At least the leaf and br00ns lost last night too...

They'll still win their fair share of games. I think. Weber will help the right side, it's the left side guys that are abominable.

Dollar Store should be out sniffing around dumpsters as we speak... LA, St. Louis, Chicago, somebody must want to make a deal. DSb has tons of cap space as well.

  13. Last night I was thinking about how MB finally got some wins in the trade department this year. Specifically I got to thinking about how we got that bundle from Vegas in the Pacioretty trade. Let's say thank you to Bob Gainey and Craig Rivet for that.

    - Feb/2007 - Craig Rivet & a 5th (nobody) traded to SJ for Josh Gorges and a 1st (Max Pacioretty)
    - July 1/2014 - Josh Gorges traded to Buffalo for a 2016 2nd.
    - June 2016 - Two 2nd round picks traded to Chicago for Andrew Shaw
    - Sept 10/2018 - Max Pacioretty traded to Vegas for Tomas Tatar, Nick Suzuki and a 2019 2nd.

So as of right now, for the price of Craig Rivet, we have Andrew Shaw and Tomas Tatar in the lineup with Nick Suzuki tearing up the O. The VGK 2nd round pick is looking like a high one so should be in the 32 to 38 range, so I'm projecting Swedish defenceman Tobias BjΓΆrnfot. And there's a big kid on the US Development team ranking in the #50 range right now, Alex Vlasic that could be a target.

Anyway, I enjoy looking up the old trades and drafts to see how some of this stuff keeps an initial trade rolling year after year. The return for Craig Rivet (and a 2016 2nd) is looking pretty good right now. Even though that 2nd turned into Alex Debrincat for the Hawks - he's a good looking player. And the Habs wouldn't likely have chosen him and there is nobody else from that round doing anything in the league yet.

But I digress and should get back to work. Don't forget if you're retired or not working that there are 3 NFL games on today. No hockey. Happy Thanksgiving.

I'm retired but have been busy today cleaning floors, going to the coffee shop and reading today's paper/doing crossword puzzle, picked up some groceries and cooked supper (special burgers). I'll watch the Cowboys/Skins game and some of the later one.

  14. Been AWOL kids - my bad. Tried postin anon from an ipad earlier this week but blogger ate it and I couldn't be arsed to re-type...The Habs D looks bloody awful. Standing around and doing nothing. Out of position and over matched. Dish playing more than half the game is never a good idea...Alzzzzzner playing is never a good idea...Schlomo playing is a wonder...my qustion here is this...With all the trading bbb has done - how do we end up with such a shit D?

Happy birthday today to two Habs stalwarts from the glory days - The Road Runner (my pre Lafleur fave) 75 and rangy defenceman Jacques Laperriere 77.

It's the 55th anniversary of the Kennedy assassination, did Oswald act alone? Only Steve knows for sure...
