Never liked the chilis too much, but Flea is an original, for sure.
I suspect the Caps will be out for blood tonight, that tough loss to the CH last time out being fresh in their minds. And the first home game after a road trip is traditionally a hard slog, even coming off a comeback win like that.
This leads me to a thought. Yes, I have those! As a father in today's world, let me tell you, the expectations of involvement are much higher than previous generations. I mention this because I believe fatherhood for the modern NHLer tracks with a bigger let-down in on-ice performance, particularly for those who are "team-first" in their mind-set. For the wife will always insist on the marriage being a team and no matter how many millions a nice guy like TFS or Patches has for personal nannies, the pressure to "be there" as a dad has never been higher than now, and with good reason. I note it took a good road trip for TFS to get the cobwebs out. The guy has a toddler and another on the way, and these are the times you want to be EVERYTHING for your kid. I imagine his conscience leaves him torn thusly between putting his focus on his family and the CH. It is not an easy balance for even the most diligent among us to strike surely. I just want us to recall this is a building season and the man needs to be cut some slack.
I must say, Minimax looks really good in the sainted flannel. Funny, somebody tweeted Tie, apologizing for cursing him for years when he was a laff. Tie responded: No need to apologize, let's cheer for the Habs together! Ha! Eat shit SFU, one of your own has gone over to the Force for Good!
Looks like a great game on the way, but there's no way I can't watch that Rams-Chiefs game. The over under is 63.5 but I won't be surprised to see 75-80 points. Leading my fantasy league and already have my victory secured this week, but still have Mahomes, Kelce and Rams kicker Zuerilen. Shooting for the first ever 100 point victory. To be fair my competitor (the commish) has been selling off his team for draft picks for the last month.
I saw them take the 4-2 lead just before I turned in and figured they had it in the bag. I check the scores this morning and... WTF??
So, From the comments it sounds like Wrong Benn was a pylon or a deflection machine like Alzzzzner and Turnover Machine did his usual one-way direction thing in OT. Figures.
Wow, the Oil bring in a Jurassic era coach to save the season? Good luck with that. Yeeoowww fired in St. Louis as well. Everybody is hitting the panic button early.
Jewel took a puck to the face late in the first and that meant five d the rest of the way. Dish played 307 minutes or something like that. Once Holtby came in, the Caps awoke like and pushed back hard with a lot of amazing scoring chances but TFS was crazy athletic and stole a point. With 2 seconds to go, he stopped Ovie so spectacularly, the O man applauded in front of him. It was a moment.
@Saint Paddy, won my fantasy league game this week because Todd Gurley was held in check. My opponent had him and Travis Kelcey so I was nervous but held on for a 7 point victory. Currently 7-4 in the standings, only need one more win to clinch a playoff spot and I play the last place team Week 13.
Nice. Thanks to my astute drafting of Mahomes I am in first, alone at 8-3 and with a big points lead. I have a tough bye week next week but also play the last place team in 13 so should clinch first and a bye.

ReplyDeleteWhat about Renaud Lavoie? He seems kinda harmless.

DeleteCoconut milk rice pudding, one of my fave desserts.
ReplyDeleteTims has a new ridiculous breakfast snack. A white milk chocolate, cranberry scone. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteI expect a loss tonite, if we win plan the parade.
