Meat and CHud skate in a mile high. Bag skate (or at least a brutal practice) for everyone yesterday. No excuses against the Broons. But this Avs team has the hottest first line in the league. A big test in other words. I say it'll go 5-4 in OT for the home team - and take note that I have not made a single correct prediction (outside of federal politics) since 1995 or thereabouts. That said, GYFHG
Mike Keane #12 - the former captain who was artlessly thrown in by Rejean (GM-ing is somewhat harder than elegantly drinking Molson products at high-brow functions) Houle in the Roy trade. Keaner was the KidA of that era.
Pretty much. Peanut (Houle's nick) got snookered and then some. Imagine keeping a POS like tremblay, getting rid of Roy? I think Corey had a lot to do with it.
In homage to Keaner, this song - and its VCR source live from TV I reckon - dates from his first season as a Hab, 1988-89. Love Don Letts and Mick Jones in this track from B.A.D.
I had one of those, and we played it till the knobs fell off and our fingers bled on the metal rods. Bruins-Habs edition? Rocket was the sticker on every Habs forward and d-man if memory serves. Video games? We didn't need no stinkin' video games!
The Avs are a tough out with MacKinnon and Rantanen ... Weber will have his hands full tonight. A loser point would be a bonus.
Table hockey? Oh yeah, I was undefeated on my table ... an expansion version around 1972 with the two newest teams in the league, the NY Islanders (Long Island on the "clock" and the Atlanta Flames. I hardly ever touched the goalie and I was ALWAYS Montreal! I could score from any where and liked feeding the center for slamming the puck in, but could also score with a slapshot from the wing. Loved that game.
Poor Reggie Houle, he was robbed by Pierre Doiron. I don't think he had much choice about trading Roy after that debacle against Detroit but two so-so Euro wingers and Jocelyn Thibault for a future Hall of Fame goalie was godawful. He moved too soon on that file, but that's all history now.
Well I certainly hope for a better effort tonight, that last game was pathetic. Big smoke meat platter for lunch today so I’m just going to snack tonight. GYFHG!!!!!
Yes! Flying solo for quite a bit of the upcoming winter, Mr. will escape for weeks on end. Mum can’t leave the furkids for too long at a time. Esoecially my geezer meeker, he’s on meds.
hey guys... i put this up looking for u guys' opinions, but maybe i put it up too late in the evening?
1. im really glad he got the start. 2. im really glad he sits on 299 b/c of him. 3. so long as he is in CHarge, and he starts against him, this is the result i will always CHeer for :( 4. also really glad he also got a shutout. 5. im also really wishing we kept him and traded for tarasenko/pieterangelo instead of lars...
I'm guessing you would have preferred to keep Halak over Price?
Just my opinion but they made the right call keeping Price although I doubt he (Price) will ever win a Cup but neither would have Jaro. Montreal has never had a good enough team to compete. They didn't tank enough to get the necessary talent.
Dude, no matter what the circumstance, you cannot consider yourself a card carrying Habs fan AND cheer for the broons. Period. There's my 0.02 Actually I guess opinions are now free since 2 cents rounds down to zero.
saint paddy... 1. u cant blame me for cheering jaro > TFS each time they play. its not my fault TFS can never seem to tie it all together come playoff time. i wish i will live to eat those words, but even maritimer and others dont think TFS's career will be long enough for the cup to come back while he is still here.
its easy to critise using 20/20, but their careers havent really gone 'that' far apart. i admit TFS carried the team to a few remarkable seasons, but i still remember jaro dragging BG's overachieving team to within 2 games of the finals. (not to disrespect squid, the mexicant, CHicken, vodkov, PFK, kidG...)
2. i dont cheer for the boons, but i remember challenging some of us here for cheering NE awhile back. for my own ethics, i dont think it right to cheer for the different team of same rival city. i think u guys are way too harsh against tsn, but i also respect your hate cause they are the COTU. as for cheering on the raptors and the bjs... i cant.
Oleg, can't really debate the what ifs of Price v Halak since it would just be speculation, but as the M says the team simply hasn't been good enough for either to lead them to a cup. One COULD speculate that had we kept Jaro he probably would have moved on by now, maybe we'd have a different good goalie that is paid half of what Price earns and MB would have magically figured out how to get that elite centre we've been missing? But it's the butterfly effect. Everything would have changed with a different trade and without a time machine or the ability to transport to an alternate universe, we'll have to be happy with what we have. And not cheer for anybody wearing a spoked B, at least whan playing the Habs. It's the same with PK. His rabid fans can wish him the best and cheer for him all day...except against the Habs. Sorry brother that's just me. And I'll tell you the worst part of being a Patriots fan isn't the fact they're from Boston. It's that they get sfu like coverage at least on this side of the continent.
Congrats on the extended time off moe. I'm working through this year. I use the word 'working' lightly...taking the time to finally clear out a bunch of shit I inherited when I moved into my current office 6 years ago.
This 1st period is exactly 2477 times better than the last game's 1st. That was possibly the worst period of hockey I have ever watched. Ever. And they were still in the game, but I assume they sucked the rest of the way. I rage shut off my tv.
JFW boys - that is all I got for now!

ReplyDeleteYep, great line.
DeleteFunny the SFU keeps harping that their team's 1st line is the best. Yeah, sure, Jets, Lightning, Avs and when healthy, broons.
The SFU can eat shit and die. So can da broons.

DeleteOne of my fave tunes. B.A.D. was great.
DeleteSo, who had a table hockey game as a youngster. I did. Even had the puck drop form the top thingamabob.
ReplyDeleteI was masterful at goaltending but was a lousy scorer. My uncle was an expert at the right winger pass and deflection goal.
Bought my son an air hockey game/table some 20 years ago.
I had one of those, and we played it till the knobs fell off and our fingers bled on the metal rods. Bruins-Habs edition? Rocket was the sticker on every Habs forward and d-man if memory serves. Video games? We didn't need no stinkin' video games!
DeleteHad one, bought one for my kids, one of the greatest toys ever
DeleteI really like today's ♩ ♪ ♫ ♬ o' da day
ReplyDeleteVery Propellerheads-ish.
DeleteI like. Perhaps even better appreciated under the influence of something recently legalized in Canada.
DeleteSong is cool, album can definitely be 'enhanced'.
DeleteNow I'm listening to lots of B.A.D. and thinking Mick and his boys deserve a parody. E= MC moe!
Off until Jan. 7th 2019 !
ReplyDeleteEnjoy! That's a nice long break.
DeleteWhen I still worked I had enough seniority (plus I was a family man) to take from Xmas day to after New Year. Always enjoyed that time off.
Thanks theM.!
DeleteTime for some wine, women and song!
Go Habs Go!

Still think Corey pushed him.
DeleteOur small support team had a nice lunch at Score Pizza.
ReplyDeleteMake your own joint.
Sausage, artichokes, gorgonzola and some balsamic on mine.
Heh heh, one of the top headlines at tsn -- the smallminded network :

Fucking losers...
They are desperate (and don't even have NHL rights).

I join the M in thinking TFS is better choice than Halak. Still he made Habs history. Agree they should have gotten more than Lego for him.

Hey M i'm in the finals this weekend. Just need to decide on my flex spots but looking good so far. As go Mahomes and Kelce likely will go my team.
ReplyDeleteI'm done. I had no running backs this year ... my fault as I was late getting into the online draft. Good luck the rest of the way!
DeleteThanks man. While it's mostly about bragging rights with this bunch (and I'll do my fair share if I win), the $385 payout wouldn't hurt!
