If they lose tonight, turn out the lights and prepare for the weekend. There is an important holiday on Sunday. If they lose tonight, stick an O' in front of your last name and celebrate/drown your sorrows all weekend. And if you find yourself in Halifax drop by my annual St Paddy's Day Levee.
Andrew Shaw couldn't avoid a suspension and fine for uttering a homophobic slur, yet leafer Morgan Reilly gets away with it. Typical SFU toronto media bias gets him off. I don't believe for a second he didn't do it.
Jerk won't even take responsibility for his own words, now he lost the chance to show some leadership and a good example from it. Bad form and only bad Karma can result.
So the hope is, here, that the Habs make the playoffs.
The BELL Centre atmosphere would/will be a huge experience for all the newbies that have never seen or been part of a Habs playoff. How far a round 1 series could go, who knows, who cares, because they've come this far this season, it would be FHFucking FHFun! Bonus, it'll make the SFU double up their blue and white Depends.
Win or lose tonite, I am going to Chill. Its been a fun year, muCH better than expected. But next year we need like they had in the RONIN a car with some push.
Surprise surprise...NHL rules that the lead guy didn't call the ref a maggot - said they asked him if he did and he said no - so that's good enough for them. Anyway - no big surprise so let's move on...Tonight...at home...Detroit...J...F...W...!
Interesting juxtaposition of the BELL CEntre Habs statues of greats like the Rocket, the Flower and Le Gros Bill, as compared to the hoax that is the leaf legend bronzed bench of a lot of non-Stanley Cup winners. So many true Canadiens greats and what an image of the young girl in front of Maurice Richard.
Odell Beckham Jr.'s time in the Big Apple has reportedly come to an end. According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the Giants have traded the star wide receiver to the Cleveland Browns.
I had to get really pissed at them for that goal. Sending pissed-off karma for the rest of the game. For the name of God just win it for Carey at the very least.
Just joining in ... WTF??!??!! The Giants trade OBJ to ... the Browns??!!?? What the fuck is that all about? I guess with Barkley they figured they didn't need him anymore.
The guys on TSN690 right now talking about the Habs PP. How Dano in the high slot never ever shoots. Made me think they are perhaps over-coached - like scaref to follow their instincts and always making the safe choice or the one they won't get blasted by the coaches for, even if it fails. --SiM
Yep nous will have to take care of their own bizness here on in. Some big games left v Isles, Canes, Flyers?, Cbus? I can't remember exactly but some biggies nonetheless.
Yeah, and when I see that top 3 list I can't help but think of that smug fuck Trembley and how I'd likelto punch him in the face because Roy should be at the top with about 600 wins.
I know it's just a dream, but it would be so poetic if Carey Price could get this team into the playoffs then go on a Ken Dryden-like run circa 1971, or Patrick Roy in 1986 and take the Habs to a totally unexpected Cup victory. It's not unprecedented in this day and age for it to happen. Jonathan Quick took the 8th place 2012 LA Kings all the way (that should have been the Habs ... fucking cryder). The '71 Habs were supposed to have zero chance against the Bobby Orr/Phil Esposito led broonz but you play the games on the ice, not on paper.
It would be so delicious to shut up the cackling SFU leafool fanboy hacks.
It was Carey's night and he helped in a great team win last night. But the best thing about this season is that it hasn't been Carey saving every game.
There is a potential for no less than 13 players to score career highs in points and/or goals.
Player - Current Season/Best Season/Points-Goals needed
Max - 24-38-62/All Career Highs
Tatar - 22-28-50/29-27-56/7 points
Druid - 17-33-50/21-32-53/4 points
kidA - 30-16-46/31-23-54/9 points-2 goals
Dano - 11-35-46/High Points/3 goals
Dish - 11-30-41/12-30-42/2 points-2 goals
SSR - 17-19-36/20-19-39/4 goals-4 points
Leko - 8-17-25/18-10-28/4 points
Benn - 4-14-18/3-17-20/3 points
Even Radar and Meat with 11 points are each career highs. And Peca and KoHo with their limited playing time have career highs, Koho for obvious reasons.
And you know Carey sits at #29 overall in wins right now. If he stays healthy and can win 32-35 games per year (either with the Habs or the Totems), he will be top 10 by the end of the 20-21 season and potentially top 5 by the end of the 22-23 season (though Hank and MAF could move up into top 5 positions with more wins before they retire, and depending on how much longer Luongo plays). Again, if he remains healthy he could top Roy by the end of his current contract. But it would mean averaging 32-33 wins each season for the next 7. I think Brodeur's record is safe, with 140 more wins than Roy.
I had one of those today! Somebody dropped some on our 'treat table' @ work. It was jumbo or something and had reese's pieces inside. For a guy with a sweet tooth, it hit the spot with an afternoon coffee.
I'm not sure good is the word, but interesting read about the 2005 draft by EE. It quotes burkake so can't get a good rating. And I don't believe GM's that say if such and such a player was gone we were taking Price.
been trying to comment.
ReplyDeleteCan't get past the sidewalks buses ans traffic lights before I'm called a computer and cut off.
Go Habs
Happens to the best of us.

DeleteNice bit o blues from Keef and a smart video to boot. I'll bet Tipper Gore got all huffy about the f-bomb when it was first released in '88
ReplyDeleteI like it. Saw it as part of a re-issue.
DeleteCHarlie up with the Habs. Safe bet Niemi has played his last game in the CH sweater.
ReplyDeleteHe'll likely see a few games.
DeleteIs the roster size extended yet? I would definitely start CHill before i'me iN!
DeletePretty sure the extended bench is in play.

I need a shower. You gotta do what you gotta do.
DeleteSpeaking of POS puke-inducing tremblay on the rds feed.

Well yeah. But first they gotta win tonight and take it from there. Downtown was a buzzin' with activity. JFW
DeleteYep, one game at a time.

ReplyDeleteCoconut milk spiced (ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt) banana bread popped in the oven.
ReplyDeleteA variation on;

That sounds really good, have to try it.

Domini, yes! And the Broons scored 3 unanswered goals to cut the BJs' lead to one. Go Bruins (feelin' a bit dirty). --SiM
ReplyDeletekuul!
ReplyDeleteJust in from curling. Lost semi final...but got a free drink.
ReplyDeleteMoe and the M what the hell is up with your football teams ditching all star receivers!?
Good to see Max score.
Broons fighting back. Yay?
Had a PBJ for late supper.
Koooooooolak!
I think both became to much of a headcase.

DeleteCONGRATS TFS!
TFS will continue to pile up wins and I doubt whatever wins total he finishes with will ever be broken.
ReplyDeleteYeah, and when I see that top 3 list I can't help but think of that smug fuck Trembley and how I'd likelto punch him in the face because Roy should be at the top with about 600 wins.
DeleteCongrats Carey Price, I hope you can someday add a Cup to your impressive resume.
ReplyDeleteMerci beaucoup!
Jacques Plante's ghost just piped in: "Congrats, Carey. Now go get your Cup!"
ReplyDeleteCarey! And a win as we still hang in there, so stressful.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to TFS on setting the record. Agree that it should be Patrick's but let's enjoy the greatness that is TFS for now.
ReplyDeleteProudly wearing my #31 Price t-shirt (at work) today.
ReplyDeleteAny leafools you can show it too?? :-)
DeleteYep, some I've worked with for a dozen years. Weird that they have become even more arrogant.
DeleteI know it's just a dream, but it would be so poetic if Carey Price could get this team into the playoffs then go on a Ken Dryden-like run circa 1971, or Patrick Roy in 1986 and take the Habs to a totally unexpected Cup victory. I agree theM.
DeleteBonus would be to see their reaction to Domini, who they ripped as an empty-net-only scorer.
Anything to fuck with their (empty) heads.
DeleteCheers, bro.
Yep, only scored 9 goals, but 5 were empty netters!
DeleteJust a dream, but a hell of a dream. Let's hold onto it so long as the boys have a shot at a playoffs spot.
A delicious scenario, yes, but with our current D-corps, they'd be over-achievers just to get past the first round.
DeleteIt was Carey's night and he helped in a great team win last night. But the best thing about this season is that it hasn't been Carey saving every game.

DeleteHadn't had a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup in a while. Damn fine candy.
ReplyDeleteI had one of those today! Somebody dropped some on our 'treat table' @ work. It was jumbo or something and had reese's pieces inside. For a guy with a sweet tooth, it hit the spot with an afternoon coffee.
DeleteBecause, I think, in general, FHFers have an appreciation for both Sid (grew up a Habs fan) and OV (gives praise to the CH), you'll like this;

Either one would be welcomed with open arms by Habs fans even at a later stage of their careers.

ReplyDeleteMy condolences.
DeleteThe COTU showed TFS love in print and digital today. He won that game last night so it was a thrilling way to make history.
