From Boone's blog: "John Carlson won't have his usual partner, Michael Kempny. Injured in a stupid fight."
The guy is a D with +24 and roughly the same number of points. No other Caps injuries and Holtby in nets. Plus, if the Caps win, they clinch division. Tougher night than Tuesday at home against the Bolts. Hope our Habs aren't over-confident.
Quick check-in from Cuba. Habs loss and Canes win = the end to a surprising season. Not mathematically, but most likely. See what bergy does to help put in the off season.
i hate it when the refs decide to 'put away the whistle' its ridiculous to allow the players decide. a penalty is a penalty no matter what time the clock says. so sad...
If I'm bergevin, Imma move Druid if there's any taker. Tough loss. Need to beat the Leafs and hope BJ's get 1 point max in their last two games. No playoffs for Habs, but a grrat season to build on, nonetheless. --SiM
Man oh man...what a shit start to my friday...its not over... yet...if Saturdays game is worth less I want to see the poehl dancer make his debut with Charlie in the nets...awww fuck...i haven't felt like this in a few years - so I guess that's a good thing because I do care...but they didn't lose the show last night, they lost when they lost to the bj's and Canes last week ...and really...they dropped at least a half dozen points earlier in the season they will kick themselves for...started on the first night of the season...awwww fuck...
Realistically, the season is probably over, the desperate BJ's will surely get one point this weekend. It would have taken a minor miracle to win out and as moe said, the Capitals are a very good team, Stanly Cup winners and still contenders, maybe even favourites. The Habs have no one with the talent to match the GR8T Ovie or even Backstrom. The boys are still a couple years and an elite talent away from being true contenders. They at least have a backbone now with players like Domi, Shaw and Gallagher. Drouin could someday, perhaps, become Kessel-lite but will never be bargainbin's superstar. We need some bullshit luck and get a game breaker either at the draft or using up all the excessive Cap Space.
In the meantime, let them beat the wretched, putrid, fucking leaf this Saturday and call it a season.
Also, I'm not the least bit upset about last night or the fact they are probably done. I had zero expectations at the start of the season and they are a lottery team just as I expected, just not in as good a position as I thought they would be. I would be justice served if the Habs managed to jump from #15 to #2 like Philthy did two years ago to get Nolan Patrick.
their opponents arent powers, but they havta do it b2b. plus, those other guys would love to play spoilers like the leaves would also right?
NOT DEAD YET@! keep yer heads up boys!!!!
oh... and maritimer, your evaluation of them vs top teams i disagree with. these guys have proven all season that they can play with everybody and consistently beat them. the bad thing is it requires jabba to churn out a true total team effort whereas those top teams can often can drift to victory instead of doing it the hard way like us.
a lot of u guys play down this team. we are dangerous. we wouldnt be first round 0-4. never forget jose vs boston, jaro vs pgh, wsh... this could stil be carey's turn. looking at the overall, we are not #15-16, but in reality closer to #12-13.
Hey oleg, you are a born optimist, but age has brought me wisdom. Sure, the Habs can beat any team at any time but a seven game series is another story. Montreal does not have a game breaker of Ovie's stature. Those guys do make a big difference. All those goalies you mention could only take the boys so far ... and then they run out of gas. Saint Patrick won 2 Cups but that '93 team had some great players and the '86 team had leaders like Gainey and Robinson from the dynasty years. Big difference.
dancer not a bad nick, lends itself to lots of Tiny Dancer parodes. BTW Elton has a harvest of brick solid hits that will last for ages, but Tiny Dancer is one of my favs.
It'll never happen as long as bargainbin is GM. He traded a blue chip prospect defenceman for him and signed him to a 6 year deal. Drouin can serve a purpose but is not a leader. Secondary player at best.
Well shit. Finished my flight pre check in so thought I'd check the sports pages only to find that cbus played tonight and bear the dirty Rags. This is especially disappointing because I thought they played Saturday/Sunday and I would arrive home at 430 Sunday morning to watch a meaningful game I had recorded. Oh well cest la vie. Look forward to an upgraded team with Nature Pooh and some veteran talent challenging this team.
Way to go Habs. Nice year, but as I always say anything short of the cup is failure. So get better. Quick.
Play all the black aces tonight including the Poehl dancer and Charlie in nets. Tonight's game is an exhibition so no way anyone of importance should be out there. Give the fans a good show, then turn out the lights and hope they get a high draft pick.
Welp, the Fat Lady has sung, the curtain drops on another season tonight. Will I bother watching? Probably record it, watch Avengers Age of Ultron then check it out. EAP probably gets his game tonight, but I bet they play Carey so he can try to beat these fuckers once this season.
So, 15th pick (at least) maybe Raphael Lavoie from the Mooseheads as the pick?
Bargainbin's mission this off season is to acquire, by hook or crook, a big time sniper. The Habs were decent 5 on 5 but the abysmal PP cost them the playoffs. An upgrade on defence is another priority. That's all I got.
NOAR...JFW...GYFHG!
ReplyDeleteWon't be able to watch again tonight so maybe that helps - worked against the Bolts...fingers crossed it works against Ovi...
her name has something to do with blue!?!
ReplyDeletemoe! ure killing me softly like the pp!

Burning down the house
i wish alzeimer was in the line-up tn.... something good woulda come of that i think.
ReplyDeleteand why wasnt that a penalty on kuznetsov on benn? they said he even looked back at the ref admitting it!
I think we are watching the last bits of fire and ice for this season.
ReplyDeleteQuick check-in from Cuba. Habs loss and Canes win = the end to a surprising season. Not mathematically, but most likely. See what bergy does to help put in the off season.
ReplyDeleteAdios.

ReplyDeleteCaps are good.

at 5.5 a year Druid is where he is. Not a bad deal. Much better than the leaf with the same player at 9 mill or 7 mill or something way to mucCH

ReplyDeleteKappo Kakko!!
OH Yeah , lets jump and use all those worm like things
DeleteI just played the Tankathon Sim and we went from 15 to 2. I think Kappo will go number 1.

ReplyDeleteLevon another great tune from Madman Across the Water.
DeleteLevon is probably my fave Elton song.
DeleteI am going to say this because I need to...Drouin is a floater and we need to trade him.
ReplyDeleteThat is all
