Recently one of the headlines at the Toronto Sports Network was that one of the leaf had the most expensive cheesesteak sandwich there is in Philthy 'cause he makes a lot of money and could afford it.
With all due respect to our great FHFriend moe, who doesn't just lean to the left, I'm pretty sure he's face down on the ground in that direction... JK!!!
I'm not fond of politicians of any stripe because I firmly believe they are only in it for themselves, power, money, employment, whatever. I try to vote for whomever I think is best for the country or province. We got some big problems nowadays with the west bitter about having their economy trashed, the east ignored and forgotten as usual and Quebec controlled by racist parties federally and provincially. And southern Ontario controls everything. It's a mess and I don't think anyone has the answers. JT will be walking a very narrow tightrope.
Anyway, I digress, I'm right leaning but I'll never vote for Scheer and the Cons better figure out how to appeal to millennials or they're screwed. Speaking of Generation Z, I heard a funny clip on CBC radio this morning about how their new way of dissing us oldtimers is by saying "Hey Boomer!" Somebody has a video on You Tube that's quite popular regarding it. They are rebelling against us like we did our parents back in the '60's with sex, drugs and rock'n'roll. Too funny!
OK, back to hockey: Go Habs Go! and go Malcolm Subban and the Golden Showers, beat the putrid fucking leaf!
Hey the M, I'm GenX. You guys (boomers and Millennials) can battle for rights to take up all the oxygen as usual. I'll just sit this one out and die ignominiously waiting for the Québec govt. to find me a family doctor.
And like Charles Adler, Kim Campbell and Joe Clark, I'd welcome a little progressive with today's Conservatives, thank you. Now GYFHG! --SiM
The broons are off to a red hot start no doubt. But through 15 games, Habs and broons have each scored 56 goals. Habs have given up 13 more goals, almost a full goal per game. Point is this team is actually very close to or all around better than the broons. 32 of their 56 goals come from their big line, whereas the Habs have a clear distribution of offence, with 6 top scorers with 33 goals.
So I think it's clear the offence is there. With the cap space and surplus of draft picks there is no reason MB shouldn't be able to shore up the defence sometime before Christmas as teams start to fall further out of contention. I think it's going to become a necessity if the team wants to make a run towards and deep into the playoffs.
Hey SiM! This old Boomer is not interested in any generational spat. I was never really a rebel either growing up. But it was fun to live in that time period. I think.
I'm just wondering how the heck I became my old man??!?
Now that I'm a grandparent, I'm hoping my generation hasn't wrecked the planet, although I have my own theories about all that stuff. I'm also hoping the millennials will save the planet.
Habs losing 2-1 to AV and Arrogant Fuckface, maybe the Habs can pull it out in the 3rd.
No matter how it ends... another road game where they came back to tie it up and earn at least a point. Bet some stupid chintzy bad penalty call gets made in the OT against the Flyers. Would be just --SiM
I dont think labels apply anymore, Boomer, Boomer has created the fucked up world we live in, but their innocence was shattered and manipulated by the greatest generation. GHWB ruled this world for a long time and then he gave it to his son, and now we have TRump because he was such a fuck up. People of all generations have the same feelings and same desires, the things I dont like about Genx or M are rap music and tattos, other than that we are all in the same battle to live better.
This is not to suggest that a nice CHeesesteak sammiCH isn't a thing of beauty.
ReplyDeleteProvolone baby!

DeleteThx St. Pad.
DeleteThe feather in my cap is mirtle.
... and with all due respect for right-leaning FHFriends, a lot of CON politicos have blocked me, some I've never engaged with. Oh well, their loss.

Agree.
DeleteKadillak and/or Juuls might step up, but yeah.
DeleteAnybody watching the game? I haven't tuned in yet...
ReplyDeleteTFS stopped 16 of 17 shots. 1-0 PHlyers after one. Only EAP's line dangerous at all. Small crowd apparently. --SiM
ReplyDeleteCHia!
ReplyDeleteWho's Watching the Watchmen?
ReplyDeleteGreat show from Damon Lindleof.
I'm enjoying it. Think I am behind an episode...and losing my free Crave/HBO soon.

ReplyDeleteWhat a cheap fucking call. Jeebus.
ReplyDeleteKilled it again!!! --SiM
ReplyDeleteI read that since '17 with this ref combo, Habs are 2-7 and Flyers are 9-3. Just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteHow bout dem refs ?
ReplyDeleteThe angelic Filthy Flyers? 6 minors and a penalty shot for Habs, 0 PiM for Philly!? --SiM
DeleteSecured the loser point at least.
ReplyDeleteThe good news tonight is Price came out of the coma he's been in for the last week or so.

ReplyDeleteOh Carey after such a fine game...
ReplyDeleteThat sucks.
ReplyDeleteFuck! --SiM
ReplyDeleteDamn. Could have made a fortune on Proline tonight with all the games going to OT.
ReplyDeleteLove CJv2's post game comments. Behind his team all the way, openly questioning the shoddy reffing. This league sometimes... --SiM
