Just like "on any given Sunday" there are no easy marks in the NHL. I hope Montreal takes these 3 teams seriously and goes all out to beat them.
With said Habs safely ensconced in the top 3 of the Atlantic division, we can turn our attention to, as Moey put it so succinctly last Saturday night, all the hand wringing and pearl clutching by all the leafool media hacks. It's so enjoyable. And that video of the two kids in Pittsburgh taking the selfie... priceless!
Hey now, don't let the beleafers hear you say that the 2nd game of a B2B could be classified as 'easy'. We all know they are impossible to win. The leaves 0-6 record in such games is proof.
The Team of the Century's nine regulation wins all came against bottom-third teams. Inspirational!
That said, as the M has pointed out previously, our Habs tend to play down to their opposition as often as not (witness: losses to Detroit, Minnesota, NJ) so there ain't nothing easy about these three. I reckon that damn cannon in Columbus is gonna twist my stomach again tonight, but the Bob is no longer in nets, so we have a shot ourselves (SWIDT?)
Sux about the Druid surgery, out eight weeks or more, and on his wrist, no less. And LB had surgery on his knee, so in both cases, the affected ailment is their bread'n'butter. Best of luck to both for a full recovery in time to help in the playoff push.
And that's enough injuries to key players, hockey gods, okay?
Happy 21st to Fleury. Snowy? Iceman? I can't remember. What about Yeti? He's big and likes to hit. Now I don't know for certain that a yeti likes to hit, but I imagine if one could skate it would be a big physical dman. Anyway, maybe he can bag another one as a gift to himself.
Not at all surprised to tune i to a 4-2 deficit only to see that increase by 1 after a failed PP. Didn't see much of the game but the guys in the booth seem to think the Habs outplayed them by far. Which is worth nothing.
An Easy 3? If points out of a possible 6, then yes this is still viable. :-)
You knew ol' Crotch would be back in some form. So how do you feel about him apparently premiering his new podcast by focusing on The Rocket? I'm conflicted. In one sense it doesn't matter because I'll never listen to it. On the other hand, fuck off and leave Habs' greatness out of it and focus on your own shitpile of a team. If he thinks by pumping up The Rocket, he's going to gain even 1 Francophone fan, I imagine he is highly delusional...well he is that anyway, but you know what I mean.
As I've been busy muddling through mind numbing research today, I've found myself wandering in my thoughts and the most recent was about our former captain and most recent HHOF member. I thought if he doesn't have a fan club named Carbo Nation, then that's a damn shame. So I created a quick little pic and added to the top of the thread.
My other thoughts got me wondering about draft picks. That's a rabbit hole you can fall a long way down if you're not careful tracking who eventually ended up where years beyond an initial trade. But as a quickie, I didn't realize that MB snagged a 2020 4th round pick from Anaheim for Fiver. That's good return considering MB originally gave Zach Redmond for him. We've given him a hard time, but there are a lot of cases where he has hit a homerun. For example we not only got Armia for nothing, but a giant left dman with this years draft from the 7th round (may not pan out but who knows) and another 4th from the Jets next year.
I've laid off criticizing Bergevin but he'll always be bargain bin bergy the dumpster diver to me.
I'm not sure if I'll tune in tonight or not (didn't last night) we may watch a couple episodes of The Crown. It's surprisingly good, lots of history. Maybe I'll catch the 3rd period.
Blabs only half way through his 8 year $50mil contract. Yikes! Bell and Rogers will be putting up the prices for their bundles in the new year. He can take the next 4 years off before he takes his sour puss act somewhere else.
Ying meet Yang, the Shanaplan was a bold new NHL where skill ground down grit to powder. Babcock was all grit. The Shanaplan built a Delorean at best, and likely an Edsel. The leafs will only win the cup when they mandate gender equality in the NHL.
I just tuned into the pregame show and heard the funniest thing. After discussing Bobby Ryan's issue (hope he gets right btw), Marek says "Listen we don't cheer for teams in this capacity, but we sure cheer for players like Bobby Ryan in this instance." "We don't cheer for teams", that's fucking down right hilarious!
Showing my six-year old daughter the ceremony for Carbo just now, and when the camera panned over, I said, "Oh look, there's Mme. Beliveau!" and my little girl said: "Is that the Queen?"
BTW never like to see a player injured, but what a crushing hit by Fleury! Maybe his nic should be Blizzard (Bliz) as he packs a real punch. Not since (Y) have we seen glorious hits like this.
I admire Dumbass, he watched Moneyball as a kid and now thinks he can do the same thing in real life. Tonite we see what kind of movie he makes, a horrorshow or a disney special.
... and, yes, I know its 5 easy pieces.

I had a wrist injury once, did not keep me from spanking the monkey daily, just saying, I want a count on self pleasure of the Druid.

Well there goes Blabcock, he who was going to lead them to the promised land. I wish somebody would just lead the leaf over the edge of a cliff.
ReplyDeleteThe new government has created the "middle class prosperity" portfolio. What? LOL! I'll believe that when I see it.
ReplyDeleteThey have predominance over the Ministry of Silly Walks
DeleteWell someone wasn't one of Babcock's fans...

Lol that's amazing!
