Why don't you ask him if he's going to stay?
Why don't you ask him if he's going away?
Why don't you tell me what's going on?
Why don't you tell me who's on the phone?
Why don't you ask him what's going on?
Why don't you ask him who's the latest on his throne?
Don't say that you love me
Just tell me that you want me

I'm starting to feel bad about being so pissed at the team, the past couple of games they have been trying. It's not their fault that there are gaping holes on the team. I feel like I'm kicking them when they're down. It's not going to help them, I think rallying around them is the way forward and hopefully they can turn this around.
ReplyDeleteIt probably comes off as being pissed at the team, but in reality it's being pissed at management/coaching. Sitting on a wealth of cap space and draft picks and not upgrading anything when everybody outside of your organization notices gaping holes on the back end for example. Insisting on playing Weal and Cousins on the First PP unit when you have offensive gifts like Suzuki and KK. Somehow forgetting how to kill penalties when that was one of your best traits last year.
DeleteIt's these baffling decisions that make it so frustrating as a fan. They (generally) continue to score goals, but just keep letting more in. How a Claude Julien team keeps letting 4 goals or more in per game is a real puzzle. Is it coaching or personnel? If they can't figure it out in the next week, something will need to change I imagine. I know it's a heck of a lot easier to play armchair GM/Coach, but I don't think a 20 year old goalie and Matt Peca are going to change the fortunes of this team.
Good stuff.
DeleteStill lots of hockey to be played.
@Saint Paddy, excellent analysis.
DeleteI love Tusk (topical, too, with that narwhal tusk being in the news recently).
ReplyDeleteI am still onboard, but somewhat baffled. Every point Saint Paddy makes above is spot on.
Looking forward to tonight, I am glad Cayden Primeau will be there to bathe in the history of leadership this "most storied franchise in sport" has to offer. I await the ceremony and I also think the Isles will not be taking home two points.
It says here: Domini will pot two to get out of his funk.

So what'd I miss?
ReplyDeleteHoly Fuck Batmann 29 can still tie his skates
DeleteHey kidz! Sorry I haven't been around much this season but I have been doing... something. Let's go with that. It's not "time" for meth at least. Actually it's nothing. Miss you all!
ReplyDeleteI am going to the game tonight, first one of the year, so I am hoping the half-half jersey's presence will end this losing crap
HH29 will save us! TFS Saviour!
DeleteI bet the captain ceremony will be pretty awesome to behold. A lot of class in the phone booth tonight. Will Superman exit? We can only hope.
DeleteHH29 eh SiM?! For Half 'n Half I get it!
DeleteHave FHFun 29 !
Delete@StPad - HH29 was actually a typo. A Freudian typo perhaps, but I'll take it!
DeleteI am very very very pleased to see Moey, Saint Pad, the M, and Scott all still here commenting! Now I feel extra bad I haven't been around
ReplyDelete/ takes meth hit
Don't feel bad brother! You're a busy man doing...something. Sadly I blame this team and other social media platforms that we get close to neither ice cream or meth with our comments anymore.
DeleteHello stranger! Glad all is well in your world 😊
DeleteAdded a who's Captain jersey are they wearing tonight pic upthread. via TSN's John Lu
ReplyDeleteNOICE! Love that they're doing this.
DeleteUnless some fancy internet lawyers sues, HF29 will be now known as HH29. Carry on.
ReplyDeleteeh, works for me
DeleteMy username is now half 'n half, like my Habs jersey
ReplyDeleteBeauty !
DeleteYou’ll note that I did not suggest HH29 is somewhat creamy.
DeleteWe are going back to the EMPTY future, with the trap and winning 00 games in OT. Oh the fucking humanity, tank and get the pain over. Decades of mediocrity is not worth repeating. You gotta hurt before you feel better.
ReplyDeleteMy Saku, I miss him. *sniff*
ReplyDeleteLooks like Saku and Chelly could suit up and help this team right now. And other than Saku (of course) it sounded like Chelios got the loudest roar.
ReplyDeleteSimply, well done.
ReplyDeleteI do predict a win tonite. Tilting at windmills again
ReplyDeletePhil Da Net!
ReplyDeleteDano!!!! buzzer beater!
ReplyDeleteI called him Le Gros Phil.
ReplyDeleteHah! And Lip (le petit Phil) makes it 2-0
DeleteHeart and soul kidA from his office. Beauty.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm not comfortable with this lead.
BBQ for the setup.
DeleteHang on boys !
ReplyDeleteDish! 3-0
ReplyDeleteThis was a great comeback from defeat game.
ReplyDeleteRelief! Good win boys!
ReplyDeleteHabs win, leafs lose big time. For one night at least life is fucking good.
ReplyDeleteOk, pride is back, but outcome will be the same.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, Sprague Cleghorn may be the greatest hockey name of all time. Of course, if he was on the team today, we'd nick him Foghorn.
ReplyDeleteEven though it's cloudy, the day is a bit brighter after a win.
Like the genie (voiced by the great Jim Backus) in the Bugs Bunny cartoon proclaimed... "Let the bells ring out and the banners fly!!"
ReplyDeleteMy friend has a real moral dilemma, never paid for sex in his life, and now he has an offer of a 30 day free trail? Wrong friend, my friend has an offer of a 30 day free trial from Amazon to watch The Expanse and Man in the High Castle without hassle. Watching for free is not the same as paying right?
ReplyDeleteNew Hab, Otto Leskinen.
ReplyDeleteNickname Car! ?
Volvo?
DeleteBecause Carr was Auto, I get it.
DeleteAnother Finn...Volvo's are Swedish, no?
Is Otto a mobile defenceman?
Oops, forgot.
DeleteLess skin in. Cut Car? --SiM
ReplyDeletePrimo getting the nod tonight! Team figures they're going to lose anyway, save TFS the embarrassment. I kid, I kid. Sort of.
ReplyDeleteDamn team keeps giving me reasons to tune in when I vowed to tune out.
Go kid go!
And Fleury playing with the New Finn on the Block on the 3rd pairing. Good luck kids.
Kale-i-Flower better brush up on his Finnish. He could be the only non-Finn on the ice at times. --SiM
