frist! yeah! not same as sexy fridays, and i spelt it like an idiot, and i dont get the hawks reference at the top but idgaf
... cause i figured out how they can get in and do some serious sleeper damage!
they have 49pts on 49 matches and the magic number is 96 right? heck, lets round that to 98 (for easier math, and so they get that #7 match-up vs those broons). that means means they need 49 more rest of the way.
so heres the math: 50/35 = 25-10-0 = 5-2-0 = 3-1-0 then 2-1-0 and 3-1-0, then 2-1-0... rest of the year! thats not so bad eh? i think its totally doable! i was looking ahead on the schedule and there is only 1 more b2b! enuf w/ the excuses. lets do it! remember what happened last yr? that could be US! this has to be US. do it and i wont bar for another 25 yrs!
now the only thing they need to do is hire gerrard before puck drop...
Interesting math, but as I mentioned earlier, they need some teams in front of them to fail. Carolina might be in trouble or Philthy if hart is out for a while. It'll be interesting.
I wanna be sedated because I want them to win but I hope they lose. Lets put our fate in the hands of the lottery Gods, just one time and see what happens/
er... i dont really mean for you to shove it steve. i was just trying to twist your words into something sagelike to make myself sound smarter than BBB
So, ahhh, can anybody explain why Kovalchuk was on the ice for the last 2 minutes while trying to close the game out. Did CJ figure since he's our best goal scorer he is the best option for an empty netter? Anyway he got tapped for the shootout and scored a beauty before Tuna topped it with a much sweeter deke for the win.
Also at 4-3 Polo was complicit as he had a clear T17 exiting the zone left and opted to go for the glory with an empty netter and failed.
on T17... yes. you are exactly right, but i forget already. i musta been sucker shouldered by connor just now. was he on the ice b/c of an icing call or did that happen after? i think clode was thinking up 2 goals and considering how well he has played, why not? 2 goals in 2mins is surely too great for us to screw up!
on Polo... this is where i am confused on. and im glad somebody else also saw exactly what i was thinking! shame cbc only showed it once and surprising GG didnt catch it. anyways, was that icing call a contributing factor to the 5-5 goal or was that the reason for the first on? either way, bone head move by Polo
in OT... wow. loved how Dish is so killer on volleys/bunts! i remember that sick goal he had in DET and that other one in BST. im sure he felt bad cause a few of those goals he coulda done better on.
domini has heart. love his spunk. really wish T17 wasnt so selfish and instead passed it forward for domini for a breakaway. domini is a total team player and im sure he woulda slowed it down to make it a 2-0 for the easy tap in. this was the first selfish offensive play ive seen T17 do since he came over. now that hes definitely on fire, he better not further this me first goal scoring attitude
T17 has dragged us right into the middle of no mans land.
There is a house in Montreal They used to call the Fourm And it's been the ruin of many a Habs fan And God I know I'm one My mother was a tailor She sewed my new shin pads My father was a toe drag man Down on the lowly farm Now the only thing a toe dragger needs Is a suitcase and puck And the only time he's satisfied Is when he's one on one with a punk Oh mother tell your children Not to do what I have done Spend your lives in sin and misery In the House of the Habitat Well, I got one foot on the platform The other foot on the train I'm goin' back to Montreal To wear that ball and chain Well, there is a house in Montreal They used to call the Forum And it's been the ruin of many a fan boy And God I know I'm one
He is fun to watch. That TD run was incredible, you think he's just stepping out of bounds, tiptoes down the line the takes it inside and beats 3 defenders to the goal line. Amazing. And on my FF team for the next 6 years at least (will cost me a 9th round pick this year and a round each subsequent year).
I was just over at the SFU sites to check the sports headlines and for some strange reason there is nary a leaf story to be seen for the first time in months.
Even if the Habs don't make it, it would be sweet to see that leaf eighteen wheeler going over the cliff again. Especially with that invincible $44 million offence and, as quoted by one now forgotten Donald S. Cherry, the best goalie in the world playing net.
I watched the game last night, I'm very impressed with what Ilya Kovalchuk brings to the team. I would be very tempted to sign him for a couple years for the right price. Also, Carey Price was pumped after that win, nice to see him engaged again.
Been a while since I checked in - and now the Habs are on a bye week I suppose the rumours will start to fly. Kovy2.0 will be traded a dozen times, BBB will be fired, CJ will be sacked, Bouchard will take over - it's all gonna happen in the next week - wait for it...
But for me - the Habs obviously have very little chance of making the show - it could happen and I remain optimistic but they do need to stay this course. Trading Kovy if they are done by the deadline could be ok but then again - they haven't had a bonafide superstar on the team in a long time - and he is one. A sniper to pot those Ovy esque type of goals like he scored since coming on board. He is a bit of a liability on the D but so what - the Habs need goals and he can score them. He has the pedigree no Hab has had in a long time. Sure he's older - but who isn't! I say keep him till the season is over and go from there. Some recommend a fire sale take place but you have to have a mix of new and old to win. So stay the course and see what happens. Loads can - Just ask any St. Louis fan...
Also I was at the game Saturday. Sure a win, but frustrating. Kovy was fun though. But yeesh he made mistakes. And as Saint Pad mentions above, he had no business on the ice in the last 2 minutes.
Just more of the ex-Bruin coach's questionable decisions. Many hockey pundits and people who cover the NHL say lots of nice things about julien. I've never forgotten his goon tactics against the Habs during his time with the stinking bruins. Make him an assistant to Molson or something if you have to but get him out from behind the bench. He still reminds me of Jabba the Hutt.
I am going to question everthing, like do fairys wear boots? Well I think T17 is a fairy, and his magic wand is going to move us beyond the first round.
I personally can't look at CJ without thinking Bill Dautrive. Not sure of the spelling but you know who I mean, Hank's friend from King of the Hill. The other thing I can't forget is that gif of him as broon coach, making the face. Again I'm you have seen it.
The maddening part of the Habs is they make me feel like I have a split personality. One day I feel like "Burn the fucker down!" and the next I'm on the "Keep winning, we can do it, sign Kovy to a 2 year contract!" And I honestly don't know what the right answer is, but I know if T17 plays the same for 2 weeks following the break, that is a great indication that he still has a lot left in the tank (pun intended) and its not often you get the chance to have a player of that calibre on your team. I'm still pised at Bergy for passing on an aging Jagr who still had 2-3 good years left in him, even at his age at that time.
The KovalCHuk factor is more about what he means to the young guys, who missed SSR's spirit badly through the two 8-game losing streaks. He makes them believe in themselves. The long injured Druid will be back soon after the break, and as long as there are no MORE injuries, and only one more back-to-back (super Bowl weekend afternoon games) they have enough Koolaid in their cups to play exciting hockey and keep it fun to watch, st the very least. Sign Kovalchuk, I say. --SiM
As Jack Todd says: the guy wants badly to play for the CH. The pressure cooker is oxygen to him. Not too many who feel that way, and MB should take this good fortune and not fuck it up. --SiM
Funny how some players like t17 (Russian), Domini (anglo), Squid (anglo) embrace the Montreal atmosphere and history but many Quebecois (Vinnie) shunned it.
Florida won last night, 5 in a row for them. Like I said some other teams will have to meltdown for the Habs to get in now, they have dug a deep hole...
I think we need to remember a lot of guys just want to play hockey and aren't comfortable with the spotlight aspect of it. I imagine a lot of guys lean towards introverted and would rather die than speak to the media every day. I know they get paid a lot of money and hopefully are coached to deal with the media, but it doesn't make it any easier for some folks to deal with this stuff on a daily basis. Others meanwhile love to soak up the limelight. Sports and the world are comprised of a variety of individuals, etc etc.
OK, I'm done trying to be all eloquent and whatnot.
But you know, 50 games in and the Habs are only 6 points behind the Stanley Cup favourites, so it can't be all bad.
And you know if the Habs had played .500 hockey during those two 8 game losing streaks, they would be 2nd in the division, 1 point up on TB and only 5 back of the broons. If only.
frist! yeah! not same as sexy fridays, and i spelt it like an idiot, and i dont get the hawks reference at the top but idgaf

Deletei think my math is pretty sound, but if you factor in those losses only come against the western conference teams, my math will look even better!
Deletemy new hero is the kai-yo-tees GM btw. dyk hes a freaking kid?! statsletes.... when will these millenials cease surprising me?

ReplyDeletelooking at the line up its experiment time, I like it. Kid Koho with Leko and Pole Dancer, and Nature with with Domini and Army the first Joel.
