  1. Timely first graphic about change. I had an interview this morning for a position within my organization. Pretty sure I'll be staying put, but we'll wait and see. All good though, I like my current role and team.

I was hoping for the Snake to get the start tonight and get a win catching Ottawa on the end of a b2b, but DD decided to go with Price so now my expectations are another loss. Price gives up at least 5 plus Weber and Chiarot look like a couple of pylons.

  3. JFW boys! I want to share exactly what the current restrictions for movement and activity are in all red zones of Quebec, including the entire greater Montreal area (slightly relaxed just last weekend, believe it or not):

    Montreal restrictions.

Not one other NHL team has nearly such harsh measures to put up with, including the 8 p.m. curfew now in its eighth week. You think the players' wives are enjoying this?

Just read what Eric Engels wrote about Cat Toffoli's experience and try to imagine it.

    No wonder they're getting surly.

    1. This rule has been in place for five full months now:

Indoor or outdoor gatherings in private homes (house and cottage)

      Prohibited:

visitors from another address, except for a person who lives alone, with their dependent children where applicable

      Allowed:

      one informal caregiver
      individuals offering services or support
      labour for planned work
a person who lives alone, with their dependent children, if any, may join people who live at one other address, provided that they form a stable group. Groups formed this way are asked to refrain from gathering in their homes with anyone who is not part of the group.

  4. Way to go, moeman, for making it through Dry February! I believe TFS will rebound tonight. He is a pro and will start behaving like one. Otherwise, Houston, we have a problem (and it might be chronic depression, but I certainly hope my 8-cent armchair psycho-analysis is wrong). My 80-year-old dad struggles with it, and no amount of wealth, family, sunshine, love or good fortune can clear out the "clouds" when they come. Glad I am not so affected. He is scheduled for his vaccination on March 8th, and I am hopeful my mum will get hers then too.

  8. Oh oh. A nobody goaltender in the Ottawa goal playing in his 3rd game. I predict Price has a great night but his team in front of him only scores 1 as Dacckrd puts up the usual Vezina like performance.. Habs lose 2-1, maybe in OT.

  22. So the Habs didn't look too bad. Passed on some good shooting opportunities a couple times but overall not bad. TFS looked OK. Romanov looked solid as did KK. There is hope. But it's also late and I gotta work tomorrow so later all. Merci Moe. Congrats on the dry Feb win. Everyone stay safe remember not to drink and tweet!

Well, it was a win but that's about all it you could call it. Shit trap game by Ottawa, shitty to watch. Anybody else notice that Kid KoHo has been out playing Slick Nick lately? #15 played a heck of a game tonight I thought. He's shooting the puck more so that's good. I thought Price was going to blow it for them but he finally got help from the iron. Three pings at least...

    1. Well he won't have Stéphane Waite to kick around anymore. Fired, just now. Sean Burke, former Hartford Whaler and Albertville Olympic silver medalist is ghd new director of Goaltending. --SiM

    2. I noticed the same about KidKo, and what a Waitegate. TFS looked small in the net all night, and that other guy looked like Vezinia.

  34. i think the way they played tn is exactly the same as theyve been playing the rest of this slump. nothing noticeably different in my opinion except finally cashing in on the pp (x2).

good observation on KK though. i liked how he drove to the net there. i see that nasty streak coming out a little again. (remember that beat down he put on that flyers guy in philthy?).

druid also had a good game tn i think. and last game, he also had a nastry moment highlited by bieksa fighting for position in front of the net.

  38. Jack Todd is pointing to Waite's firing as the tail wagging the dog. He wrote a blog post where he questions Price's commitment to hard work (laughable coming from one of the laziest ink-stained reporters you will ever find).

Engels may be a bit of a fanboy, but he does research and interviewing, and is careful about getting his facts straight, for which I respect him.

Todd is sure Price is calling the shots, and this is bad for the franchise, all argued on pure speculation. Now this may be the case, but why not go find out instead of just complaining the Canadiens organizstion is tight-lipped? Rush to judgement and use your pulpit to blast away the torpedoes, full steam ahead.

If the guy I signed long-term at $10 million a year with a no-trade clause because I really believed in him, if that guy tells me that he needs a new goalie coach to get a proper return on my investment, guess what? I listen to him. --SiM

    1. Jack is no longer a journalist, but an opinionated editorialist. Take him with a grain of salt. I will still read his stuff, disagree with his view on Price being the reason for the past 12 years of failure, and move on.

Jack Todd = bitter, far left wing extremist who knows it all. I met a young man from Montreal who briefly worked at my employer a few years before I retired. He called him 'the poison pen' --- good analogy. I think some of these 'reporters', if they get a grudge against a player, try their damndest to get them traded.

  39. Well if Sean Burke can save Price's game like Tim Burke could save for the Expos, we're in good hands. Always liked Burke, also didn't realize he was a scout for the Habs...for five years now!

    ReplyDelete
  40. We better hope that Price and Allen are both on their games as the Habs have had the smallest schedule in the North to date and beginning with last night's game will play 35 games in 63 days until May 3rd. They will play at least every other night, and have 5 B2B sessions. May the fourth be with them as they then have a 3 day break before finishing off with another B2B against the wretched leaf.

Interesting move bringing in Sean Burke. I always liked Burke as well, good Team Canada goalie for several tournaments.

Montreal should have had their way with an Ottawa team that was playing the second of a b2b and 3rd in 4 nights with a third string goalie in net. Is Ottawa that good or Montreal that bad? We'll find out the next two games against a very good Jets team.

  43. I am not going to ask anyone to pay for this onion. I am not going to ask you to subscribe to my subversive web sit to receive wisdom erratically. This is my hot take on the hot topic of the day.

TFS is gifted and has floated above reality for a long time. His natural talent canceled out any culture that was a danger to him. Stephanie Wait was a co comparison in maintaining this universe.
About a month ago DGMB was bored and started to watCH DARK. He digested the centeral message, you cant change the future without killing the past. So he destroyed the center of Price, to be made better by a new format that indcludes the idea, I am not a franchise savior. I am a man, and I will be wandering around my head when I can not be natural.

  44. It actuall makes sense to have the leaf win all the games against the other north teams. They're a good team. They're going to make the playoffs anyway. So beat the other teams, better shot for the Habs to grab a spot, then see what happens when it counts in the playoffs

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. True. Also, anything that keeps the games two-pointers within the division works to the Habs' advantage. Anytime the Leafs beat a team in regulation is better than if the give up a point.

  45. the Maritimer8:47 AM

I wouldn't be anointing the wretched leaf anything just yet. Edmonton sucks and they have no goaltending. Lots of time for the leaf to fail. They will.
