... here's my irony: have u guys been watching him closely? he's fantastic when he is allowed to tee off or is perfectly set up, but when receiving passes, or trying to fire of a quick pass, i've noticed he often takes it with another touch or he releases it poorly.
the best example is the OT winner with nick. did you guys see that? did you guys see nick almost missed it? the pass he got back from whiskey was absolute crap. nick gave him a flat puck and what he got back was a wide open net, but with a rolling wobbler which he somehow managed to one-time off the post and in. we were that close to missing that eh? all b/c of a crappy 2 on 0 pass.
i love the kid and am super angry he and kadillak and romeo arent playing (regularly), but you GOTTA have composure to make the smooth passes, collect passes cleanly, fire those shots from the sweet spot on your stick consistently. every time w/o exceptions.
what this tells me is he could be fighting nerves. not trying to rain on our parade. just trying to be fair and to put things in context. what do you guys think?
I don't care how he does it, especially if he's operating like this with nerves. But I don't think that's it. I think he knew the odds with both him and Suzuki being right hand shots that Campbell would be oveplaying his side and Suzuki would have a lot more room to score. Puck jumped on him as he sent it right back to Nick but he buried it so who fucking cares!
Gonna be a great duo like I said, and hopefully for many, many years to come.
you bring up a great point. i definitely dont think he is playing like a well-oiled machine right now, so yeah, you are right. imagine what he can be when he is firing on all cylinders!
